Looking for internal memory card ready

Looking for internal memory card ready for dual 450mhz g4 (gigabit)
Want to put it in the 3.5" slot the ZIP® drive was in.
Anybody know of any good/compatable ones?
thanks

I have never seen an internal media card reader designed to fit in a Mac. Most are designed for the PC to fit in a 5.25" optical drive bay. If you could somehow modify one of those units to fit in your machine, you would still need a USB card with an internal connection to service the card reader.

  • Looking for a smart card reader compatible with Mac OS X 10.5

    Hi there,
I am looking for a smart card (card with microCPU) reader which is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 .
In substance, what I need is a little space to store all my passwords in, due to the fact that I might forget one: I have many to remember!
I have an USB key, but I use it in many computers, even in ones whose security cannot be 100% trusted.. and I want no doubt when talking about safety.
Here's an image of what I want in poor words:
    http://www.ordnas.it/prodotti/lett_mem/imgpr1592-01-3.jpg
The main issue is that most SC readers are /not/ Mac compatible.
So what brand should I opt for ? What costs should I expect ?
    Thank to everyone who'll help.
    Tyrexionibus

    Thank you for your answer.
This might be a solution, I'll take it seriously.
Can this other be a solution too ?
    http://www.athena-scs.com/product.asp?pid=1
On the manufacturer's page, it's stated that it's compatible with Mac OS X.
41 bucks + shipping + the price of a smart card..

  • Looking for more memory...

I have a BB Curve 8330 (Sprint).  I am wanting to increase storage memory and have looked at several memory cards on line.  Like most things, there are several choices.  Anyone out there have any recommendations or complaints?  Any help would be appreciated!

A little advice....don't buy cheap ram! You'll likely regret saving a few dollars. Your MacBook 5,1 will take up to 8gb of PC3-8500 DDR3      - Min. RAM Speed 1066 MHz

  • Using USB memory card ready boost for RAM???

I recently purchased a 16 gb  HP memory card for my laptop, in hope to replace my old 4 gb HP memory card I was using priorly for it's ready boost capability. When  checking my computers performance, I noticed one of the places I most commonly lag in is my RAM. So my question is, is there any way I can use any part of the memory I'm gaining from my ready boost in the place of RAM capability?

    Hello william_the22nd,
Unfortunately, you will not be able to use the memory card this way.  You don't mention which notebook you have, or operating system.  Perhaps the troubleshooting steps in this document will help you improve the speed and performance.  Please select the link below which corresponds with your OS.  Please let me know if this helps.
    Good luck!

  • Raid Card, what to look for in a card?

    Hi guys,
Im looking for help on what to look for in a Raid card. Im new to Raid, but i have read the tweakers pages and it seems like the way forward.
Im a full time editor working with AVC-Intra footage doing fast cuts. Im about to ditch my 2008 mac pro and build a up to date PC around the i7 4930k. Im planning on running 8x3-4tb drives for footage; raid 5, 3x3tb raid 3 for exports, maybe 2x256 ssd raid 0 for boot, 2x3tb drive for page file and media cache, and maybe 3x3tb for stock footage raid 0.
Im totally lost in what to look for in a Raid card?
    Cheers Ryan

For 13 drives is there a cheaper option?
Yes, Areca 1882ix-16, 1264IL-16, Intel RS2WG160, LSI 9260-16i - or for that matter, any RAID controller with 13+ internal connections. There are much cheaper controllers from Highpoint and others, as well.
If your next question is, is it worth it going cheaper? ...Usually not for me personally - at least certainly not with Highpoint or other entry level controllers with subpar support and all kinds of performance and reliability problems. Even Tier 1 controllers aren't exempt from them.
That said, I am curious about Intel and LSI controllers I listed above. The LSI one especially so given the availability of SSD caching and other neat features.
    Hope this helps.

  • Looking for PCI SCSI card for G5

I've just learned my old SCSI PCI card (5 volt) from my G4 won't work in the G5 (3.3 volt PCI slot).
I'm looking for a 50-pin SCSI PCI card, 3.3v, that will work in a G5 & with OSX ... any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm interested to know if this is the plain old Adaptec 29160N or the Adaptec PowerDomain 29160N. I made a similar upgrade 4 years ago and I had an identical problem. I never got my old scanner to work. The ratoc SCSI--Firewire bridge didn't support multiprocessors, and the Adaptec PowerDomain card was prohibitively expensive. Due to the lack of updated drivers for the scanner, VueScan was necessary in either case, if remember properly.

  • Looking for a memory that is reliable!!!

    Hello fellas,
I'd like to upgrade my current memory Ram( from 1GB to 2GB),
but i'm quite corncened in prices, is there any place out there who sales as Good Quality RAM as Apple but with a reasanable price? I mean i don't wanna screw up my MB with something that will never work as it should!
    Thanks in advance.

The quality is probably good, but I've never used that memory before, so I can't be sure. In the past, I have had issues with quirky behavior in my PowerBooks if the added memory isn't closely matched to the existing bank of memory. Several people on various forums pointed me to Crucial, and since I have been buying from them, I have never had a problem.
The memory you are looking at is much cheaper than what I buy from Crucial, and it might be just as good. There's no way I can be sure of that, though. Unless someone else here confirms that it will be a good match for the memory already in the MacBook, you'll just have to order it and try it. Then you will be the authority.

  • Looking for international Apple distributors

    Hi,
I know this doesn't belong here but I can't find any other forum to post this on.
I am looking for the page on the apple website where it says and lists all the international Apple resellers/distributors. I can only find the US ones. I remember once reading a page where it had Egypt listed among other countries with the distributors/agent names.
    Any clues???

    http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/intlstoreroutingpage.html?cid=AOSA10000 022132
every country listed BUT Egypt - sorry. I googled service in Egypt and it seems to be unavailable.
If you go to this site http://www.apple.com/euro/cemea/ and look for additional countries, Egypt is simply not listed. Aha! Found it - http://www.appleme.ae/ara/apple/wheretobuy/index3.html

  • Looking for a sound card

I managed to break my minijack audio-in and can't record anymore. I get static/humming from my speakers right now and I'm considering buying a new sound card (with some 1/4" audio-ins and midi and Mic input hopefully).
I have a G4 with Mirrored Drive Doors, purchased in 2004.
Does anyone know what types of sound cards will work with my machine/ what specifacations I need to look for?
I've never purchased anything like this and don't really know where to start researching.

I'd second WWJD's recommendation. A digital coaxial cable goes to my Onkyo receiver from my Quicksilver - iTunes never sounded so good...!

  • Looking for proper SIM card for applet development

    Hi,
I would like to develop some applet on the SIM card. And does anyone know where I can get the proper SIM card?
I have a bit search for test SIM card and blank SIM card, but I am not sure which one can be used for applet development. It seems that Gemalto provides some development suit that includes some sample cards. But the suit is too expensive and maybe I don't need the tools they provide. I don't want to buy the wrong one, so it would be very helpful if any of you has some provider information or links!!
    Thanks in advance!!

maybe I don't need the tools they provide. You do as you will need a tool to install your applet on the SIM card
I don't want to buy the wrong one, so it would be very helpful if any of you has some provider information or links!!Are you just want to write applications or wanna be able to install them too on real cards ? If the purpose is just writing of apps then oracle and ETSI have provided everything, you don't need to buy any additional tool. But yes for dubuging you will need some third party tool or write your own one : -)

  • Is Adobe optimized for 3GB memory cards?

Steeking a graphics card for CS5.5 Classic Collection, still, i am looking at Gainward's GTX580 Phantom 3GB, and i ask - is Adobe optimimized to use 3GB of memory or is that much memory in a card a sales gimmick?

The biggest advantage of the 3 GB model is not so much a performance increase over the 1.5 GB model, in fact they deliver the same performance, UNLESS:
You use large pixel dimensions and there comes a situation where all VRAM is used. Then the hardware MPE engine is completely turned off and is reverted to software MPE and the program does not warn you about that, at least not explicitly, but in performance. When that happens, you will automatically lose the maximum render quality too, unless that was checked before the export started.
Todd has written a blog about the pixel dimensions where that happens, but I don't have the link here, so do a search.
If I were to choose today, even though I don't use RED or large stills, I would get the 3 GB model, because in the future, when pixel dimensions grow and grow, I rather have some breathing space.
