Looking for iPhoto web sharing front ends.

I am trying to find some tools such as 3rd party software to be able to share my iphoto library and albums over the internet.
I've tried iPhoto WebShare which doesn't seem to fully work past iPhoto 6. I got it working, but the images won't load - just place holders where the images should be and the developer is nonresponsive.
Web iPhoto Access hasn't worked either.
Are there others out there you can recommend? I don't need to manage the library from web browser, but I would like to make the library accessible over the internet for viewing (and not by doing it by exporting web pages iPhoto).

I am not aware of any except the three built into iPhoto - Facebook, Fliker and MobileMe (soon to be gone)

Is there an FAQ or step by step tutorial for personal web sharing?

First off, if anyone knows of an FAQ somewhere that answers this question, post me the link.
Am trying to build a comon web page for synching iCal on a stans alone machine and am sure this is a very common question from new iCal users like myself:
Situation:
-Multiple users on same iMac
-Different accounts Mom, Dad, Kids, Nanny
-Need to collaborate schedules
Want to create a webpage on my machine (without .mac) where we can publish calendars.
Tried turning on personal web sharing in the system preferences but the addresses listed only show a page listed as "Access Forbidden."
Is there a step by step tutorial out there? I could really use one.

I guess the real answer for me the very novice and deliberatly blissfull user is: No.
I switched to Mac after assembling my own PCs to try and get then to do what I wanted. The driver/dll/ini issues were maddening!!!
Am not tech-phobic, but am loathe to start working in the terminal and with code since I know so little and it was that commercial that said "I got tired of being my own tech dept." that made me switch.
Looked at the tutorials and there are always comments underneath with comments about how there is a typo here, mispelling, there, better code over yander etc. linux/apache/unit/windows flame wars etc.
All I want it to do is work or not. Since it is not; will find another way.
Between purusing sites I think I came up with a simple low tech solution.
In the shared folder create an iCal_Shared folder. From one user export a calendar complete with a date. For example Dad's work as of 15 JAN. Then in the duaghter's calendar import the same calendar. Knowing that as changes are made by me, I will have to update the exported file, and my daughter will have to be aware of the as of dates.
A lot of solutions out there are for the corporate world. Am happy to Apple gaining market share but I am on a stand alone machine.
The iPhoto manager is a great product from a third party and was happy to pay for it. Saves me a lot of time with 20K+ pictures.
Just want an app causing iCal to behave simply, ie my daughter and I could share calendar information on our machine without running WebDAV server, a three tiered digital satelite hookup, etc,
Pie Argh Squarred..It seems to me that Apple woule be better off if they came up with solutions like that that cost $20 since they would reach a lot more people than they are now with the $100 annual .mac extortion fee.
Kudos to those of you who are much smarter and braver than I and again I thank you for your posts as they have opened my eyes as to just how old I am getting! Perhaps my daughter should solve this one for me!

Web Start beginner - Web Start front end to existing web app?

Hi all,
I'm new to Web Start, though have been hearing about it for some time. Even after reading the documentation, I have some basic questions about it.
Specifically, is it possible to invoke business methods via something like a Struts ActionServlet through a Web Start gui? That is, say my Web Start app and my existing web-based Struts app were on the same server, could I easily invoke the ActionServlet by passing in a URL with parameters? Thus giving me the ability to completely reuse my 'MC' of my Model-View-Controller app, and just replacing/adding another view ('V')?
Has anyone ever done this? If so, are there good examples?

WebStart is a deployment mechanism for otherwise perfectly normal Java applications. WebStarted applications run on the client, not the server. WebStarted apps run in a protected environment (the Java sandbox), meaning they can't do potentially harmful things on the client machine such as reading and writing files or creating network connections to any server other than the one they were loaded from, unless you obtain special permissions from the user (the application needs to be signed for this to happen).
So there is nothing that specifically prevents you from using a WebStarted application as a front-end for a Struts webapp. If it makes sense to use a client-side application for that purpose is a question only you can answer.

Code for a search engine front end

I am implementing lucene on my site, i wrote some code that shows something like this:

page 1, 2, _3_, 4 .. 25 [next] [prev]for some reason i found this not so easy to write as i thought. calculating all those ranges etc. (the results per page is user defined). Now i am looking at my code and it seems ugly.
so im wondering if anyone knows of an example implementation of that in java / jsp?
i looked at nutch but its search front end is a mess of jsp java includes and is plain ugly.

here is the code that figures out the first and last result on the page based on how many results are found, how many are on a page, and what page we are on.

Looking for new web hosting

I'm currently hosting my site through GoDaddy. Plain and simple, I am looking to switch from them because of the way they choose to advertise their product. I'm looking for a new web hosting company to host my site and need some help finding a good one.
As for price, I'm looking for something in the same price range as GoDaddy. After a little research, these are the few that I've found:

InMotion Hosting
I'm pretty confident in my ability to choose a good one, but I just want to be sure there's nothing I'm missing about web hosting that would make it smart for me to avoid any of the above. Just a few notes about what I'm working with:
My site was made in DreamWeaver. The entire site is 17 html pages. It just contains mostly text, some spry and some embedded video, so not a lot needed for data usage.

Looking for a web based filemanager (or similar).

I have a small server at home hosting all my files and I am looking for a simple setup to be able to access these files from pretty much every where.
Usually I'm using ssh or sftp but the thought of being able to access the files through a web interface is really sounding good. So, I have been searching for a web based file manager and found a few, but none that really made me go wow.
The best so far is probably Ajaxplorer. One thing that I'm looking for though is a PAM authentication feature which Ajaxplorer doesn't have. Are there any web based file managers around that supports this?
Or... maybe I'm looking for the wrong things. Are there other nifty solutions available for accessing files on a remote folder through a web interface?

Ajaxplorer is quite nice after all and setting up repositories isn't all that bad. Looks like I'm sticking to it while I continue my search for another app.

SAP Integration kit for BO XIR2 with Crystal XI for BI 7.0 Front end

We are in a little fix.
We have BOE XIR2, Crystal XI and working with old version of BI front-end 3.5.
We are upgrading to BI 7.0 frontend, but I am not able to trace out the SAP Integration kit for combination of BOE XIR2, Crystal XI and BI7.0.
Is such a thing available, If yes can someone send a link to that.

I checked in "Supported Data Sources for Crystal Rep" section, extract below
SAP BW Server 3.0b SAP GUI 620 or 640
SAP BW Server 3.1c SAP GUI 620 or 640
SAP BW Server 3.5 SAP GUI 640.
But we are using BW Server 7.0 with GUI 7.1 and that working fine even with BOXIR2 and Crystal XI with Old Front End for BI 3.X.
But when we are testing with BOXIR2 and Crystal XI with BI New Front End 7.0 its missing components from the query output.
So the SAP Integration kIt seems old & we need a new Kit which would work with BI New Front End 7.0.
Any suggestions on that

Looking for a Web Interface for Editing Data in an Oracle 10g Database

Greetings all!
My organization is implementing Oracle 10g Release 2 Enterprise version. We have an employee who will need to edit data in the database which will hold staff phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information. This employee will never need to administer the database or develop tables, queries, etc. They will only need to add and remove rows of data and edit text values stored in a database table.
Does Oracle 10g have a built-in, browser-based tool that can be used to edit data in a table via a friendly user interface? If no, can you please recommend an easy to use tool for editing data in an Oracle database?

Do you know if Oracle 10g has any kind of built-in tool for editing data? I have heard of "The Vault", but that appears to be a tool for administering database users, reports, etc. I am looking for some kind of tool that shows the data in a grid layout (like Microsoft Excel) and allows someone to edit and save data in that grid. A web-based tool would be best, but a desktop tool (especially if it's already part of Oracle 10g) would also be good.

Looking for a web font - advice please

Hi, I know this isn't a DW question, but I'm hoping somebody might be able to guide me.
I'm looking for a font (preferably on google fonts) that resembles Edwardian Script. If anybody knows off the top of their head a font that is similar, could you advise me please?

F4 for selecting folder from front end

The function module KD_GET_FILENAME_ON_F4 can be used for selecting a file from the front end.
Similar way, I need to select a folder name (not specific file in it) through F4 help on to a parameter entry on the selection screen.
Anyone can help me with the relevant fn module or method.

Using ABAP Objects suits better to ur requirement.
The class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES should be used. In that a default method is there which shall give u list of directories.

Updating master data for time dimensions from front end

Hi Experts,
I am sure this must be handled in a very straight forward way. Just want to know the best practice here. We are working on a copy of appset and want to completely revamp the time dimension papers as per client's fiscal year which is april to march every year.
When we have deleted all the existing memebers from the time dimension master data from BPC front end and replaced with new memebers, the task is getting completed successfully.
But when I check back in BI for the master data, it has not replaced all the existing members. How best to handle this?
The transaction data is deleted from all the application cubes. Are there any checks to be performed?

Getting best possible look for the web!

I am using Compressor for compressing my footage for the web. When I export out of FCP my footage looks nice and crystal clear however when I compress the footage then upload to the net its not as nice looking as it was. Now I recently bought a Compressor DVD Tutorial by Ripple Training Series. I pretty much knew just about everything on that DVD. I did try some suggestive settings that have made somewhat of a difference but its not crystal clear like many videos I see uploaded to DVXuser. The settings below might be okay it might just be the hosting site I have my videos on. Currently I am using www.sharkle.com
Here are some settings I use:
Compression Type - Sorenson Video 3
Frame Rate 15
Key Frame Every 75 frames
Quality - Medium
Restrict Data to 400kbps (this is for DSL modems) around 1500 for cable modems
Audio
Q Design Music 2
Channels = Stereo
Sample Rate = 48k
Streaming = Fast Start
Geometry
320x240
If anyone sees anything that I should change or try out differently please let me know. Again I am using Compressor and can also compress using Quicktime as well.

I am not sure if SHARKLE is recompressing the footage. If it is then thats why its not as good of quality.

Their making a FLV file from your sent in video.
Push your video back up to a high quality movie and send that in to them.
What you have sent in has all been squeezed highly with compression. Then they take and further compress it in the FLV format. Double compressing...not good.

I have web sharing on. It's allowed in the firewall. The airport express is configured both public and private to 80. The one question is, does the private address field stay at 201, or does this change dependent on your IP?

It's not really generic as such. Your Airport Express, by default, has a pool of private IP addresses from 10.0.1.2 through to 10.0.1.200 which it hands out to any computer which requests an IP address. So... when your iBook connects to the wireless network it asks the AirPort Express for an IP address. The AirPort Express will hand out the first address available in the pool of IP addresses it has. In this case the first available address is 10.0.1.2. If your iBook is the only computer on the network it will always be given this same address. Therefore you can safely set the "Private address" in the AirPort Admin's Port Forwarding to 10.0.1.2.
Try this and see if it works. Go into Port Forwarding (in the AirPort Admin), click Add and enter "80" "2" "80" respectively in each box. Click OK and update the AirPort Express. Give the Express a moment to reboot and once you have your wireless network connection back, open up your web browser and as the web address type in your public IP address (this is the IP assigned by your ISP; find it on whatismyip.com). If all is set up correctly this should open up the default Mac OS X page stored on your iBook, if you haven't already changed it to something else.
