Looking for Maximum HDD Allowed
OS X 10.6.7 on 1.6 MHz Mini (MA206LL/A): Anyone know what the maximum size HDD I can upgrade too? The link only shows 80GB but I'm guessing larger will work???
You can put any size drive in you like. Just be sure that is is the same size as the original. Some 1TB 2.5" SATA drives on the market are taller than the origninal and may or may not fit. Be careful though as this is not a user upgradeable component on this particular machine.
Note: most all 2.5" drives will fit, it is usually the 1TB drives that are taller than the others.

Looking for software that allows CMS integration with InDesign.
Looking for catalog production people who have already found a solution to this problem.
We have a content management system that serves as our data warehouse for our catalog and product information. This data includes information from Marketing, Accounting, and Engineering and is used with our on line catalog and data extracts for customers. Our goal is to extend the use of this system to include an interface to the printed catalog process.
Immediate goal would be to provide keyed access by product key into InDesign for pricing and technical specifications. Design staff needs to have keyed access to additional catalog information used in the catalog sections, headings, and product descriptions including bullets and paragraph information.
We are looking for software that can act as a "bridge" between InDesign and our CMS. We need a software company that can provide training and support for the InDesign users and documentation allowing IT to support new processes including the possible use of apple scripting and automator scripts.
Our IT staff has the database skills to manage and change the CMS database as needed by this project including custom tables and views. Our CMS is available using a MySql server running on Lunix. This is a dynamic copy of our primary CMS from a DB2/400 server.
We have looked at a variety of software packages, but I have found you learn so much more when you actually USE the software. I would like to avoid any more expensive dead ends.
Thanks for any input. You may possibly find something here:

Looking for router that allows 'isolating' game console
My WRT54GL is starting to come to the end of it's life, and I'm trying to select it's successor.
In a perfect world, I'm looking for a product that will allow me to drive my kid's XBOX through one channel, leaving another channel for the computers in the house.
I realise that 'isolation' is not the right word for this, but does this exist? In what product? And what do you call this feature?
Thanks -
--BericOK, a bit more research done and what I need is 'simultaneous dual-band'. Something like the E3000.
So next question: Let's say I don't assign separate SSID's to the individual bands. Will both bands be available automagically? Will individual systems grab the best band, i.e N's to the 5GHz and G's to the 2.4GHz? Are will everything simply go to the 5GHz?
And if my N-based laptop is on the 5GHz band, will it see the G-based printer on the 2.4Ghz band (assuming no separate SSID's)?
Thanks again -

Looking for silent HDD for Macbook Pro 208 Penryn
Hi,
i'm looking for a really silent HDD for my MB Pro. The HDD in my stock base MB Pro is a FUJITSU MHY2200BH. It makes a permanent "fan-like" background noise. Can someone recommend a silent 200-250GB HDD? (doesn't matter whether 5400rpm or 7200rpm).These models are to be considered (Samsung, Western Digital and Toshiba)

I am a teacher who would love to create the game "who wants to be a millionaire" with my own questions. I would use this for test reviews. I can't not find something for the mac. It is out there for the PC, but my class room is mac based. I can't use anything that will allow me to run the mac in windows, either. Anyone know of a software that will allow me to input my own questions? Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Looking for something that allows selective updating
I'd like to hand pick what to update in order to save time and bandwidth. Right now packer offers to update 35 packages, but I only care for 5 of these. The other packages can wait, let's say... until they are updated again...
Does anyone know of anything out there that allows you to do this without mannually typing the package names and install packages one by one ?

No you wouldn't. You just said in your first post that you wanted to selectively update packages. Make up your mind.
If I'd run into trouble that's what I'd do: update it all. What can go wrong if I only update inkscape, xpdf and the like.. Besides, I have a disk image ready if something goes wrong.
Anyway. So there's no such app. Thanks

Also, it would be great if I could make my purchase order by indicating my product and adjusting the quantity.
Once, order is made that my quantity in stock is also adjusted. Hope you'll know what I mean ?And also the possibility to have my orders converted in packing slips and invoices... :-)

What to look for in external HD
I'm about to buy a new external hard drive. I've always looked for an apple logo when buying this sort of stuff, but seriously, it's a stupid hard drive. I need a USB 2 port and power. If it is formatted different than I want then I can change it. Time Machine will make a separate disc image anyways, so does a logo matter? Should I just look for something on super-duper-extra-laser sale? Yes, budget-brand drive and my MBP COULD crash at the same time? Am I forgetting anything?
Unrelated, but I just saw the CEO of Seagate talk about backing up from "an internet or an iTunes". Internet gold found at:
http://online.wsj.com/video/seagate-latest-consumer-launch/96D2BB41-DDE1-4D89-A2 84-23CEEB1520EE.htmlI would pick an HD that you feel comfortable with. FYI, Apple outsources its HDD, so an Apple logo doesn't really mean much if you are looking for an HDD. Apple puts Maxtor and Western Digital HDDs in its iMacs and Hitachis in its 500GB Time Capsule. I don't know if there are any other makes Apple uses, but I hope you get my point. Just make sure that once you pick one out, check the partition scheme and formatting and re-partition and re-format. Many are formatted for PCs out of the box. If you need wireless Time Machine backups and in the market for an AirPort Extreme Base Station, check out the Time Capsule.

the Wifi storage options are interesting but it seems they only allow to read files from the device on the iPad but not transfer files to the storage device via WiFi.
I'm looking for a possibility to use the iPad for photography while traveling, without the access to a computer.
Shooting photo's in RAW format crates pretty big files that will fill up the iPad's memory pretty fast if you shoot a lot during a (let's say) month long trip.
my idea was to use load the photo's to the iPad so i could view them and sort out any bad ones. then copy them over to the storage device so i can continue using my CF cards for shooting. I have an image thank for copying the photo's directly to the HDD but it would be so sweet to be able to check them on the iPad before hand.
any suggestions?Check out pogo plug device, it allows you to upload camera roll via wifi.

Looking for an iPad(iPad/Mac) app that allows for playlists to migrate to iPad
I am specifially and exclusively looking for recommendations for an iPad(iPad/Mac) app that allows for my playlists to be migrated to iPad intact and playable.
iTunes -> Podcast/Music/Videos does not support mixed (music/video/podcast) playlits or video playlist at all. The app(s) should be able to easily create these playlist on the Mac (and manage content) much like iTunes (10).
On the phone with tech support today and they agree this is missing functionality from Apple. They suggested I reach out on to other users that may have a thrid party solution.Requires each device/user have an unique Apple ID(verifiable email address):
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/find-my-friends/id466122094?mt=8
Otherwise you can use Find My Phone, but requires logging in for each separate user. Find My Friends(built by Apple) will show everyone's location on one device. -

If you're asking Creative card ... all cards with 0-pin properiatry connector onboard can do this partly (i.e. not 00% functioning) if you make DIY connection like showen on article --> http://audigy2zshowto.blogspot.com/
Perhaps some mb-integrated (onboard) SB systems from certain vendors has this connection utilized the way, as it's done with your onboard sound.

LOOKING FOR AN APP THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO READ A PDF DOCUMENT OFF LINE
My itouch has 8 Gb of RAM and I am looking for an app that will allow me to store a PDF document in memory and read it off line as there are times when I do not have access to WiFi. I can email myself the document but I am off line, I don't think that the inbox is an off line folder from which an attachment can be viewed off line, right? Therefore the reason I am looking for the ability to save and read off line.
Thanks!!@x62

No, incorrect. The inbox is an *off line* folder, just as it is on a computer. Once you download the email from the server, it is in your iPod/computer and you can access it when you like.
