This appears over and over again in my log buffer (which is set to trap warnings thru alerts):

I'm just wondering if anybody knows what this means. I've looked on Cisco's website and found nothing useful. I did find one article that said the message meant:

Looking for multiple graph logging suggestions

I have a "host program" that is attached to a cRIO platform used for precision controlling of some heavy machinery. The current host is used to set parameters, but primarily to read values and display trends for the operators and maintenance personnel. I had previously been looking for a method to put a correct timestamp on my historical charts, which allow the user to scroll back if something odd occurs, but this has become more trouble than it is worth. One of my main difficulties in all of this is that I have 6 synchronized graphs that need the "roll back" ability, and putting a live timestamp on a chart you must be able to pause and rewind is unfathomably difficult with LabVIEW...
So, I have decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak. I needed to work out logging the graphed signals to file anyhow, so I decided I might as well just do this and externally reference the log files for the "rewind" functionality. My problem now is finding the best approach to log these 6 graphs of differing types... The first graph has 3 overlaid analog values, the second graph has 2 overlaid values, and the last 4 are each just a single individual (scaled) sensor reading. The graphs are updated every 100ms. Accurate timestamps (date and time) need to be attached to the data as well.
This logging is a new arena of LabVIEW for me, but I figured there has to be at least a few experienced users or developers out there who know all of the ins and outs. Any suggestions on the best way for me to log this data? Individual files for each chart, or is there a better method to combine the data to keep it cleaner (not multiple files to track)? Are there pitfalls I should be watching out for?

Take a look at tdms files. They are a binary format that is open (www.ni.com/white-paper/5696/en). You can define groups of channels and they can be logged at different rates. The LabVIEW API makes it relatively easy to retrieve a channel or group, although it may be more challenging to find a specific time if your files are large. Besides the examples included with LabVIEW, you can drill down into the TDMS File Viewer that's in the TDMS palette for another example. Also, there is a plug in for Excel that will allow it to import TDMS files (zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/2944).

Very true about dmesg. I was thinking only of the startup scripts even though the OP asked about "boot" information.
If the machine actually makes it to multiuser, then 'syslogd' will dump the dmesg buffer into /var/adm/messages, and that's a good place to look anyway.

I really need multiple inheritance with C#. Is there any forum/means to have a dialog with the dev's for C# about this? The amount of extra work and maintenance costs of not having multiple inheritance has been a big problem, but lately, it has really become

many times before. Almost once or twice each year since .NET is released (that's 12 years by now).
I don't think you can make them allow this feature as tons of example trying to convince them this is needed has been proved not necessary to use multiple inheritance by them.
Many of the discussions ends with something like "Java also does not support multiple inheritance but there isn't seems to be a problem for them". Maybe you can get more luck to convince Oracle to include MI in Java first.
Btw, I found it hard to believe you need Multiple Implementation Inheritance to... improve maintainability of code? WTF??? I think Multiple Implementation Inheritance has it own place in the hall of fame for the bugs it caused in languages that supports
it, even in C++.

Wi-Fi is allways looking for Network to log into ???

I have a high speed wi-fi connection in my home. My MacBookAir looks like its allways looking to connect to Network vs. just staying loged into the preffered Network. I see this is a slow procees that affects the speed of my surfing the web.
What I'm I doing wrong in my settings? is it something to do with Configuration of IPv4 in TCP/IP; my is at "using DHCP". Should I have something in 802.1X Profile Information? Proxies; I have my set to "Auto Proxy Discovery"

Yet ANOTHER person looking for an answer to a dreaded Time Machine Error

"Unable to complete backup..." I have a dedicated 2Tb Lacie "Bigger" disk that Time Machine has been effectively backing up to since April 2008. In the last two weeks I've started getting this error. "Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup directory."
After reading the very convoluted and differing solutions to this problem, some that seemed to work for only a few, and some that don't seem to work for anyone, here's what I've done so far with NO results.
I'm running Leopard (with the most recent update - 10.5.6) on a 24" imac.
Step 1. Run Disk Utility to scan the disk for errors - No problems detected.
Step 2. Run Disk Utility to verify the disk - No problems detected.
Step 3. Trash the preferences, both in the system library and the user library, where I found them.
Step 4. Disk Utility - Zero the drive (10 hours btw) and reformatted with Journaling enabled, and a Re-name of the drive.
Step 5. Restart iMac, and upon prompting by the launcher, confirmed that Yes, I would like to use "new name" for Time Machine backups.
Step 6. Wait patiently for 116 seconds for Time Machine to start the first backup.
Step 7. Proceed to slam forehead (repeatedly) into desk when I got the error again after this 20 hour process.
I then proceeded to repeat this process thinking that maybe I'd forgetten a step.
I thought it may be a cable or port issue, so I changed the port that I was using on my drive...NO - the cable is fine, since we tested it on my husbands machine. No connectivity problems.
I thought it may be that I was missing an update, Nope.
I turned off the sleep mode, thinking that it was not able to access the drive effectively. No.
Then I started thinking that maybe there was a corrupted file. Who knows?
Does ANYONE have a suggestion? I am currently without a backup, since I erased my drive. I can do a manual back up, but I don't want to erase the drive again..since it takes forever.

I did not say anything about changing a drive name. What I referred to was the Computer Name as set in Sharing preferences. This is how TM identifies the machine with the backup contained in the Backups.backupd folder.
I would start looking at your console log entries to see what information it provides on the backup when it produces the error. This could be a permissions related problem for all one knows, although it's odd that the problem occurs immediately after you erase the backup drive and start anew.
When you prepared the external drives were they partitioned using APM and formatted Mac OS X Extended (Journaled?) I would also check the drive permissions. Select the drive and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Ownership and Sharing section at the bottom be sure the box labeled "Ignore permissions on this ..." is UNchecked. Standard permissions should be:
Owner=system with r/w privileges
Group=admin with r/w privileges
Everyone is read-only
If these aren't the same, then click on the lock icon, authenticate with your admin password, then change them accordingly. If you don't have a system or admin entry then click on the [+] button. You should be able to select Administrators and add it to the Group list. However, a system user will not exist when you try to add it, so click on the option for a new user. Enter system as the username (all lowercase) then enter and confirm your admin password. You can then add system as a user. Then set the privileges as above. Remove all other users by selecting them and clicking on the [-] button. You cannot delete yourself, but you can change your privileges to read-only.

Clean up of work flow logs entries (WFMC) from tables CMFP and CMFK

To avoid unnecessary growth of tables CMFP and CMFK, you can prevent the creation of processing logs by following these steps:
1. Call up transaction NACE (Conditions for Output Control).
2. Choose the desired applications and then Output Types.
3. Double click on the output type to go to the detail view where you can make the necessary settings. To make the settings you must enter the change mode.
4. Set the indicator do not write processing log and save your settings.
This setting is only applicable to the individual application and output type. If it is set, processing logs will be collected in the main memory, but they will not be written to the database. Other output types are not affected by this setting. You have to repeat the aforementioned steps for each output type individually. It is not possible to switch off the processing log for all output types at the same time. For more information on the setting do not write processing log see the corresponding documentation.

MFP Anomaly Detected - WLC-4402-25-K9 - 5.0.148.0

From time to time I see messages like the one below in the Trap logs of a WLC-4402-25-K9 running 5.0.148.0:
MFP Anomaly Detected - 1 Invalid MIC event(s) found as violated by the radio <offending-MAC> and detected by the dot11 interface at slot 0 of AP <reporting-MAC> in 300 seconds when observing Deauthentication frames. Client's last source mac <client-MAC>

There are some known issues in this area (mainly cosmetic) but it might also be an indication of an attack. You'd have to track this down with a packet capture to see if this is a false positive or not. From the MIB, the description of the event that triggers this message is:
"bcastDeauthenticationFrameRcvd - The Access Point detected a broadcast deauthentication frame. Broadcast
deauthentication frames are rejected by CCXv5 compliant
devices."

As you see first is executed select from TABLE_2 (Node: <<66800638>>, Close Row Count = 1) and this is correct number of close row count
next we have

And this is incorrect number of CloseRowCount (should be aprox. 60k)
Finally result is wrong because we have no records (inner join by BI Server doesn't work :( )

I'm wrestling with getting all of this to work myself.
Can you see the job in XGrid Admin? It sounds as if the job is failing, but I can't be sure. Clicking on the job in XGrid Admin should give you a "play by play" and tell you where it is failing.
My experience has shown me that permissions is the root cause of alot of issues, and I cannot find any clear reference on what permissions the "Podcasts" folder needs to make all of this work.
Following the documentation, the "pcastxgrid" user doesn't actually get assigned any permissions via the file system or Group membership, so I'm not sure how all of this needs to be set.

Looking for Tiger compatable network logging tool/program

I have a client that has become email blacklisted. They are hosting their own email server on a Mac OS X server. However some of the clients in the building are PC. Not sure if someone is using them as relay or they have a zombie PC.
Looking for a program we can run on a Mac at the MOPE of the internet connection and log incomming and outgoing traffic. We want to determine whats going on. Anyone have a reccomendation? I looked at Net Monitor, but its logs look to vague. Only showing IP address and a connection, not whats going on with that connection. We are looking for something like Net Monitor but with packet sniffing I guess. Anyone ?

I assure you that I've not spammed once, nor are any of my machines compromised, never "used" for spamming... either the IP was Spoofed, or the fact that I didn't have a Static IP, means that IP was garnered by someone that was spamming or compromised.
If they are Macs, Little Snitch tells you when a program tries to send info to the internet so you can see what's going on in the background!

I am looking for a multi user, searchable journal / log

I am looking for an app that will let 4 people create their separate journals or log. The intent is to create better communication and shift hand off. I would like it to be searchable with key words, and also a todo list for each user. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

wow there are lots of solutions without apps, but i believe if use an app instead of gmail accounts to share google docs, or outlook to share online documents and collaborate orojects, or to use microsoft exchange etc.one solution would be to allow up to five different emails to be used attached to your Apple ID, and to allow sharing all of the iWork suite files through the iCloud.
I store and access all of my Keynote, GarageBand, iMovie, and other files through the iCloud. All of my text Editorfiles are also stored in the iCloud under opened and saved from there. I think I would recommend BOX. I have just started using it and it seems very promising, and I am using the free version, which serves my purposes.

I am a multitasker and use multiple apps in combination both fall the intended purposes which they were made for, and also for other purposes which I have invented myself, that the developers probably never thought of when they created those apps. Please let me know more details about how you wish to use and apply your methods with the app US seeking because I have spent many thousands of dollars on different paid apps to find the functionalities I need on my ios devices. I suffer from gout and arthritis, and my fingers are too sensitive to use a keyboard or mouse which makes my hands swell up and burn like heck. I have just found a way to both control my computer using the iPad as my mouse trackpad and keyboard, as well as using the iPad as a remote desktop which is also mouse and trackpad and keyboard built into one. This has relieved my hands from myinvalidity which as an author who spends up to 18 hours a day typing is a great relief. So that far some apps are not only usable for what the purposes they are stated.for example, I just use Keynote on the iPad to make a single slide with a master slide. I find is boring because I think it's more interesting to just show the end results of what can be achieved using Apple and his built-in products. If you think about it and it's what I always suspected, the beautiful Apple videos which a promotional on their adverts on the explanatory videos I located in a smooth modern and very intuitive and economic manner which looks very futuristic.
I have been making movies to try and create something that looks smooth and professional on YouTube, but I'm still pretty amateur with it.
I used it to make my intros and to edit all the movies with and at sound files imported from GarageBand which I played the music myself all made the effects myself to avoid claims and issues with YouTube however, I opemed Keynote after having never having used PowerPoint, or any other kind of slideshow maker of presentation software in my whole life].I used it, for the first time yesterday and sat until 6 o'clock in the morning making myself busy and my eyes Bokel training myself from beginner to advanced in one evening. The result was an intro video that is multimedia multi layered, with transparencies, intro amd outros for each inserted element be that a picture, video, textbooks, or what ever.).I found I had made a truly moving dynamic video, and motion graphics that is a single Master slide, which one would think of normally as a still image in a series of slideshows like in PowerPoint.
However, I found out that I can use it to make beautiful motion graphics and explanatory video intros, which are approaching, even in my first attempt, something similar to how Apple videos look.
I thus concluded, logically when you consider it, that Apple of course, makeall their company media and video content, using their own software.
I then realized, that it was not iMovie, and Final Cut Pro, that they used to get those smooth flat translucent and futuristic effects which are beautiful in that simplicity.it is not those solutions which were used for many of the effects and presentations which we see in the videos found on Apple's website
it is indeed I have found since yesterday the ApplePowerPoint alternative,that has produced the most beautiful translucent and somehow flat but in tentatively deep interface of that presentations. Namely, Apple's keynote presentation software on the iPad.I was amazed and uploaded it to my YouTube channel on how to mockable as a demonstration of what can be achieved with Keynote and also to use as an intro for some of my videos which I will be making. Please feel free to search for it and find it on YouTube. I don't wish to publicize myself here on the Apple forums, because that is not my purpose to post here. My purpose to post is my true love and amazement with.I think I've changed my mind about not posting a link to my content. The content helps Apple very much, and so I will leave it up to the Apple moderators of this forum, whether to remove the link or not. Where to look for log files & crash reports to help debug lockups?

Where would I look for possible log files or crash information that may provide clues on what the problem is?
Three or four times in the past few days my system has became unresponsive requiring a power-cycle. The little prism-colored round-cursor appears. I can drag windows about with my BlueTooth mouse (but not the trackpad) and that's about. The Function keys are not responsive. Other times the UI may becomes totally unresponsive.
A couple of weeks ago I Carbon Copy cloned my hard drive to a new 500GB Hitachi 7200 RPM ( I have 200GB free space now ). Before upgrading, I do not recall having had this problem. It usually occurs when I am running a Linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 VM under Parallels. Parallels may have nothing to do with it as that's what I do all day ( develop Linux software in a VM ).
I have a MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz, OS X 10.6.3.

This is a Mac OS X issue. I am not using Boot Camp or otherwise dual-booting. I am running Linux in a virtual machine under a Parallels Mac OS X host; in effect running Linux as an application under OS X.
Unfortunately I did not see any clues in either log file location. Thank you very much for explaining where to look. I ran Disk Utility and repaired a bunch of permissions. Perhaps I should have done this before and after making the Carbon Copy clone.
