Looking for "Memos" on mac os x

I prefer to use the ical and address book on my mac, and my syncing seems to work fine.
Unfortunately, I can't find my "Memos".  Anyone know where mac os x puts them?   Do I need to go into Palm Desktop, or are they in a mac application somewhere?
Please advise.
Post relates to: Palm Z22

The Memos conduit is located in your Machintosh Harddrive --> Library -->Application Support -->Palm HotSync. In there you should see folders labeled Disabled Conduits and Conduits....adjust accordingly.
This is where i was able to locate memos on my computer - hope it helps.

  • Looking for Good, Detailed Mac Book

My three year Apple Care will soon be expiring (what will I do without them). I am trying to find an extremely detailed book that would provide all the information I could ever possibly need about my Mac and Leopard. I find I still call Apple Care a lot with questions.
    Can anyone suggest a book?

I like Pogue's Missing Manual Leopard book. I also have Wiley's Mac OS X Leopard Bible (Litt) which is not as good, IMO, but still utile.
Your best and most inexpensive method is to hang around these forums - Leopard and the relevant hardware forum(s).
If there are any large bookstores near you, I suggest browsing through the Leopard area. Look for things in the books that you never heard of or are unfamiliar with. If the book has lots of these things, it's probably a good one.

  • Looking for my first Mac! I have my eye on a 2006 MacBook... $259.. Is this a good buy? I just want to be able to write essays and check social media and email.

help!!! My tech savvy on a scale of 1-10 is a straight up 1. And a half.. Anyways.. Is this a good buy? It's on amazon.. Do you think that's a trustworthy place to. It from?

That's good to know... has not being able to update really hindered you? I understand that a lot of Mac users want Apple because they do a bunch of editing and graphic designing... I am not at all into that. I am a Physical Education major (aka: a lot of essays!!), and I write as a hobby. So that is all I want this computer for. What do you think??

  • Looking for ASD 3S139 Mac mini (mid 2010)

    Where download this one ?
    Thank you
    Best regards

    Hi magnatar
I wouldn't worry about it since the macmini server isn't anything special beside the 2nd drive and  Server.app installed on it.
Apple normally has a special app that changes the serial number on the logicboard along with the HW UUID for repair work.
I guess the tech that worked on it forgot the change that ID
As long as you have the right processor  it should be fine.... Just curious what
    Model Identifier you have?
Just curious how much did apple charge you for the repair?
Oh you should check out future logicboard repairs at dt&t service. They are great.

    and local to me.
As for old old apple servers... that was different.. Macmini is consumer.. turned into server... ..

  • Can we have a BE-ALL, END-ALL thread for your BEST Mac solutions for video?

Sorry if this already exists. But I am trying to find the sweet spot for encoding my videos (existing files, like AVI, not from DVD - I get Handbrake).
There are SO many programs and SO many options. But the discussions of these seem to be far-flung and unorganized.
    So.
If you have spent hours experimenting, what have you found? I'm looking for the best Mac-based programs, and the best settings in those programs.
    - I want videos that will look good on TV, but not have a crazy file size.
    - I want it to be relatively fast (QuickTIme Pro is horribly slow).
    - I want it to have a queue.
    - I REALLY want it to be free of audio/video sync problems.
    I want, I want, I want.
So far I have tried iSquint, Podner, QT Pro, FFMPEG, MPEG Streamclip...
All of them work, but they all have problems to some degree. However, one of them may be your favorite.
Have you found ONE program and ONE set of settings that you use all the time now? Share!

    Justin,
I hate to stomp on your post, but unfortunately what you're asking here is against the Terms of Use for these discussions boards. Polls, petitions, surveys, etc... are not allowed.
If you have a specific question or problem regarding your iPod , you can feel free to ask it and someone here will try to help.
Otherwise, a forum such as those on iLounge might be a better place to post non-technical topics.

  • Looking for the Right Apple for me (a dumb Windows guy ;) )

Yeah, I'm a Windows person, but I'm looking to do some filming. Macs, I know, are the best at this.
I came into this particular board because I'm looking for a decent mac, but I'm a little broke (About to spend 1500 on a camcorder...so yeah).
I saw the G4 powerbook and thought that it'd be perfect. Now, my friends, I have a few questions for you.
I'm looking at errr...a site to buy a used mac(not sure if that is taboo on this site, so ignore what I said if it is) for a used mac.
I am either going to get a Sony DCR-VX2000 or a Pana
AG-DVC30, both are MiniDV. A) Is a G4 powerful enough (in your opinion ) and B) Do Macs have external DVD burners? Seriously, I looked and found nothing. Do they just come with them or something? Completely confused on that.
Yeah, I know I probably used wrong terminology, etc. and I apologize. I'm just tryin' to find a good computer to do video editting, etc.
Errr...okay that's all I can think of. Thank you in advance.
Not yet   Mac OS X (10.4)

You could do that, but when you want to do some
actual editing, it is better if you do it on the
    internal.
I disagree. The internal hard drive is only a 2.5" and is limited in throughput compared to an external 3.5" drive. Second, while the video-editing software is trying to read footage off the disk while editing, it will fight with the OS and the application over access to the disk heads. If there is insufficient RAM, then all three will additionaly fight with virtual memory transfers.
Whether the internal has the room or not, you'll probably get better performance by letting the internal drive handle system, vm, and application tasks, and leave the footage on a fast external disk like a 7200RPM FireWire drive. Then, if you are using Final Cut Pro for instance, you also set your scratch disk to the fast external (or preferably a completely different fast external).
It's fine to edit on the internal if you have the room and you must be very mobile, but I think that top performance will come from reading/writing footage and renders to external drives, probably hanging off both your built-in FireWire port and a PC slot FireWire card. You will then be able to take advantage of parallel read/write streams, and prevent your entire operation from being bottlenecked by a single, slow laptop hard drive. Note that the 160GB notebook drive is only 5400RPM. You will also extend the life of your internal drive by not hammering it so hard.
In a computer like the G4 which is so constrained by its low CPU and RAM ceilings, using fast external hard disks is one of the cheapest/easiest ways to maximize performance. I love my PowerBook but if I was going into video editing for a living I would go get myself a dual-core MacBook Pro immediately.

Why was this merely "edited by moderator"? It should be removed or moved to the appropriate forum. Wait, there is no "solicitation" forum.

The only thing that I can think of that might be causing the issues that I have a Mac Mini on Mavericks.
    Dave

    Hi
I have discovered that my question above is a non-question. A user triggered by looking at the below article about Illustrator 2014 cc 17.0.2
    http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/release-note/illustrator-17-0-2-release-notes.html
He had recently upgraded from wht we now know is 18.0 to 18.1 which is the latest version. He read the above artic
le and supposed that it was a bug fix release for his version - because the v17 ov18 number is not often displayed. It is usually just 2014 CC.
I have asked him to post a bug report about Adobe Illustrator CC 2014.1

  • New Mac user, new to Wireless - looking for recommendations on a router

Hello all! I am new to Macs, and to wireless in general. I just bought a used Powerbook which of course has wireless capability. So my next step will be to set up a router. However, I have no experience with this, and am definitely not a computer geek at heart. So I am looking for recommendations on a router/wireless network system that seems to work well with Macs (and PC's as I now have both) and doesn't require vast amounts of computer networking knowledge to set up and get working. What works well? What should be avoided? Many thanks for your input! (Oh, if it makes any difference, my internet connection is DSL.)

I would strongly recommend the AirPort Extreme. Its simple, doesn't do much but it does the job perfectly. It never drops out and the distance of the signal is far (you can be online in your back and front yard). And its really easy to setup. And it works with both systems. But I do recommend getting a new one instead of a used one because you'll need the newer version of AirPort Assistant to set it up because older version of Tiger doesn't have that programme pre-installed.

  • Looking for some assurances that I haven't made a mistake switching to Mac.

Bought an intel-powered IMac 9 days ago and love everything about it's look, functionality, etc.. Only problem: I've had a bout of "Application has closed unexpectedly" occcurrances while using Safari (while at AOL.com deleting emails from aol account) and while editing pics in iPhoto. As this happened time and again, I got a sad, sinking feeling that I'm headed for the same frustrations that I've had w/ every Windows machine I've ever owned. Ugh!..I switched to Apple for the specific purpose of avoiding crashes!!! Apple support walked me through steps to fix (removed/updated Quicktime, and check a few other things..). They were very helpful, but... I absolutely detest having to do this. Other than Office:Mac, i've added nothing to this machine! I'm really stressed about this. I paid far more for this than I would have for a Windows machine simply because I had heard that Apple machines don't do this sort of thing!!
Please tell me that this is normal and expected with a new machine and not a harbinger of more complicated problems to come!! I'm hoping that once resolved, I won't much more of this.. On the other hand, if many of you feel that this issue is a bad omen, I'll take the machine back while I still can. ..What a pity though, it's truly been a joy to use so far.

Hi syd123! And Welcome to Discussions!
No you haven't made a mistake! You will love your Mac!
Deleting AOL Mail, crashes Safari (Consolidation)
It seems the most recent Safari, and or 10.4.4, update has created this problem.
Apple & AOL are both aware of this, but, as far as I know, no correction has been implemented.
Here are some of the work arounds, that I have been able to discern from the various posts regarding this issue.
    Use the FIREFOX BROWSER.
    Use your AOL Mail program.
Use this utility AOL SERVICES ASSISTANT, to set up Apple Mail, to access AOL Mail.
Access the AOL Mail thru Classic AOL Webmail.
And here are links, to the various threads, discussing this issue.
