Looking for new camera - what is compatiable and what is best ??
I am purchasing a macbook pro in the very near future (next week) and am also in need of a new camera. What brands are compatable? Is there a list that I can reveiw?

1. Are you buying a camera that shoots RAW or one that shoots only jpegs? If jpegs then any camera that saves to a card - compact flash, SD etc - will work with iPhoto. Buy a USB card reader, they're inexpensive and save on wear and tear on the camera. Then pop the card from the camera into the card reader and iPhoto will import them.

Looking for new laptop what are the differences between pro and air? Besides size. Does the air preform like the pro?
The NEW macbook Pro and Air are EXTREMELY close in form factor
The newest macbook Pro is essentially a larger macbook Air with Retina display and options for speed in increasing prices up to an independent graphics and quad core processor.
both Air and new Pro now have PCIe SSD and permanent RAM.
The Air is the lightweight portable form factor, fast to boot and shut down, but with longer battery life than any of the macbook pro in 13"
Now the new macbook Pro and macbook Air are extremely close in form factor and nature.
both have 802ac wifi
both have permanent RAM, no superdrive
both are slim profiles and SSD
The only real differences now are (in the most expensive Pros) faster processors and quadcore processors and top end model autonomous graphics.
....and of course the retina display
both are now "very good for travel"
Other than features the form factor of the Air and Pro are VERY close now,....so now its merely a matter of features and price more than anything.
You need an external HD regardless of what you get for backups etc. Drop into an Apple store and handle both and make your choice based on features, such as Retina or non-retina, .... both at a distance now look like the same computer.
The Pro weighs more, ....but nowhere near what it used to just a month ago on the older macbook Pros
The NEW macbook Pro is a different creature entirely than the older macbook Pro, .....the new Pro is thicker than the Air, but id frankly call the NEWEST Pro a "macbook Air with Retina display" , or

Instead of Air VS Pro now,.....its really a smooth transition from Air to pro without comparing say, 2 different creatures, now its like contrasting a horse from a race horse.
Either one in 8gig of RAM (preferably)... the 4gig upgrade costs very little, the I7 you will notice only 15% faster on heavy applications over the I5, and NOTHING on most APPS.....I5 has longer battery life.
As you see below, the non-Retina 13" AIR is 82% of the Macbook with Retina display in resolution
there is no magical number of pixels per inch that automatically equates to Retina quality.

A huge internal SSD isnt a game changer for anything, you need an external HD anyway
what you WONT READ on Apple.com etc. is that the larger SSD are MUCH FASTER due to SSD density

i'm looking for the adobe suite 5.5 and it says it will only work on leopard or snow leopard... but i'm running on lion... anyone know what to do here?

I'm guessing that you'r not buying a new edition of the Adobe Suite 5.5.
Apparently Adobe haven't been awake to make sure the 5.5 is 100% compatiable with Lion. However, I do believe it's only a few minor troubles you will experince and Adobe constantly update their software to adjust to Lion.
You should go to Adobe.com and see the list of known issues.

I recently upgraded my Iphone. Iinstalled the friendjectory app on the new phone but it will not open but for few seconds and then closed. What is wrong and what do I need to do? My old phone is still active and working. Do I need to do something about that?

Looking for an app that I can save what I highlight when I am reading an article without having to copy and paste
I looked at Bento and at first glance I think it would do everything I want it to do, then I saw a review or something from a customer that indicated the information in Bento could not be exported (say to send out a mailing). I may want a program that can do that as well, is there one out there? If not it does look like Bento will work. When you save a picture to a customer in Bento can you open it up full size?

Thanks again for the message. I've done the updates and have the App Store on my desktop. I went into it and searched for imovie but couldn't find the basic imovie, which I presume is what I'd need for editing?, rather than imovie 11 for £10.49, which is for making trailers, it seems. Also, were you saying that imovie would be free?

Although I'm connected to my Wi-Fi network my computer keeps "looking for new networks." How can I stop it from doing so when I'm working at home and don't want another network?
You might want to update Safari to 3.12. I would empty the safari cache. (Safari>Empty Cache). Then quit Safari. System Preferences>Network>Show:Airport>TCP/IP. Insert the following into the DNS Servers box;

then hit apply. Now launch Safari. You should also try powering down modem, router and Mac and power up in 2 minute sequence; modem, router, Mac. -

Looking for a camera to take pictures of little (fast moving) kids
I am looking for a camera that will take picutres of my little ones (3 and 1). My old point and shoot (Nikon Cool pix I think) camera takes forever to focus and take the picture after I push the button so the kids have already moved by that time. And it also takes forever to 'record the picture' to be able to take another. I was looking at the Canon T3 or T3i. What are the real differences between the two? I used the compare feature on the website but that didn't really help me out.
You are correct to move to a DSLR for faster auto focus, faster response and faster saving images compared to a compact camera.
T3i costs more, has more resolution, and has a flip out screen compared to the T3.
You would be smarter to consider Nikon DSLR's for cross-type focus points for faster auto-focussing. Canon DSLR's do not have focus assist lighting which can have a harder time to autofocus in low light when indoors.

Go the store to try it out the DSLR's. If you want more auto-focussing, consider a good external flash, they have illumination lasers. -

I bought a new ENVY and spent more time troubleshooting 'NO INTERNET CONNECTION' 90% of the time. After spending HOURS on the phone with HP SUPPORT and resetting router and adapter over and over, the issue came back! Everyone elses laptops in the house connected just fine. I finally got so ticked I did a recovery...BIG MISTAKE since it deleted many apps however, I'm not getting the NO internet connection anymore. Now I have to do a backup of files and a reset. The HP tech wanted to sell me another warranty that "included cracked screen" coverage. He said the 2 yr warranty didn't cover it and the longer I waited the more it would cost. After reading your post I am confused...does the 2 yr warranty cover it or not? Sorry to hear about your issues as it must be extremely frustrating...I'd be upset!

Why is the sound of my new ipad cutting out intermittently and what does Apple recommend to solve the problem in lieu of any updates? All of a sudden without changing any settings, the audio on my NEW ipad cuts in and out on applications/ games, keypad noise and lock sounds. The rocker button only seems to work while the sound is intermittently being heard before, after a few seconds of noise not doing anything when sound goes off.
This is highly frustrating as I've noticed others posting about such issues as far back as April. Anybody had the same thing happen to them? Is this likely software (ios6) or hardware issue? You can check the expiration date of the warranty on your iPad yourself by entering in the serial number here:

If it does indeed show the warranty has expired, then what you need to do from here will depend on who you purchased the iPad from and when you really did purchase it. Perhaps you actually purchased it in August and are just misremembering? Check your receipt. Probably in the wrong section but I've got the latest update for iTunes and since then, when I go to Apps Store and select Games, all I see is nothing but Best Doodle Games and Best Race Car Games. I see nothing about New or Noteworthy any more. Am I missing something or is there a problem here?? Thanks.
I use iTunes 9.1 and I just went to the UK Itunes App Store and selected Games and got it all. Did you try to scroll up to see all the page? I see New and Noteworthy, What's Hot, and What We're Playing above Best Doodle Games and Best Race Car Games.

Mac user OS 10.6.8 Firefox 6.0.2. Click the Firefox icon in dock, program does not open new window. Type cmd+N to open new window, cmd+T to open new tab or cmd+L to enter URL, nothing happens. What causes this, and what can be done?
It's strange. The problem apparently resolved itself after I ran TechTool on it. When I clicked on Firefox last night, I had no problem opening a window. Thanks for your help. (As to your previous post, the focus was on Firefox and neither the speed keys nor the menu bar would open a window or tab of allow me to enter a URL to open a window. Strange!)

Convert Dual Mono to Stereo in Timeline?
I don't think there's a solution for this, but I'll ask anyway. I'm in Premiere Pro CC. Due, I believe, to the way FCP xml is read, any project I import from FCP, and any sequence I send to PluralEyes and back, has all stereo audio clips split into d
