Dynamic Sources for a field in Oracle Reports

Hi there,
I am sure someone might have encountered this problem.
I have six Queries in Data Model. Based on certain parameter value, I need to change the source field setting for each field in the report
output.
e.g in Report LayOut Model, I have a field F_1. The source for this field in
the Property pallette is COL1 which is coming from Query1.
I need to assign a new source based on parameter value for field F_1 to
COL2 from Query2 or COL3 from Query3 or COL4 from Query4, COL5 from Query5, COL6 from Query6 in the Before Report Trigger. Is there any way to achieve this using srw or any other PL/SQL code?
This way I can save a lot of devlopment time and use a single physical layout for six different reports and avoid the hassles of creating frames,
repeating frame and formatting.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Certificate for Solaris 10 on Oracle reports services

Hi All,
We are changing our OS from HP UX to solaris 10. In the fusion middleware certificate, it has been mentioned as the Solaris 10 update 4+ OS does not support Oracle Forms builder and Reports builder
Can some one help me to confirm if really the Oracle report services 11g is not supported by Solaris 10? if not, can u please give me some other reference (apart from fusion m/w certificate) where I could confirm that this is not supported. As well as can we maintain the Oracle 10g report services in Solaris 10 if the DB is 11g.

Hi,
You go in DB13 and Schedule backup online with redolog file, and for offline database with redolog file.
Please use tape media name in both the backup.
Tape media nameing procedure.
login in prd server in root,
#su - <sid>adm
#brbackup - i force -v <tapemedia name> (for ex. XXPB01)
The same name you will use at the time of backup schedule.

I actually looked at my screen and saw the documentation link :-) So all downloaded now but I still can't find the documnetation I want. Specifically the learning guides. All the documents, and SAP help, are very straightforward guides. The learning series provides a more detailed overview into the functionality and a practical guide to the implementation.
The document ' SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration, business to business add-on 1.0 SP00 How to Proceed Guide' contains a reference to the documents I require at the back on Page 9. Yet they are knowwere to be found. Even in the Process Orchestration Resource Center: SAP B2B Add-on Wiki has some documents, but nothing that I actually need.
I think the only thing I can do is raise a customer message. Its so frustrating.

I have a requirement to generate a user guide type of doc for a given subject area which should list following details.
1. All the objects name and description entered for each objects in presentation layer.
2. All the columns of each objects and their description entered in the presentation layer.
3. All the objects and their hierarchies.
Does OBIEE provide any tool or API through which we can generate documentation having these informations automatically?

Thanks for the reply. I have one question. If I give a description for any object or it's columns, that doesn't appear if I use Repository Documentation utility given in your link.
Also if I populate the table from the flat file it generates and import into physical layer and bring into Presentation layer. It gives consistency check error while saving and in BI Answer I can't see any columns of that table. Do you have any workaround for that?
I have also seen your other Article of Generating Metadata Dictionary. How is this different then the one you suggested.

Documentation for Reports Chart

Using 10gAS R1 (9.0.4.2) Reports and Forms. Is there any documentation for the Chart functionality in Reports? Such things as how to do a stacked bar chart and hyperlink to a detail based on the x-axis value of the individual bar? Or explanation of the Chart object's XML? Can't seem to find any good resource for the Chart functionality anywhere. May be overlooking, but... Thanks, John

I'm not sure what you mean by the URL to the documentation. Oracle doesn't have documentation that's specifically about the test, but they do have a few SQL books/documentation here:

Oracle Reports and Java

Can anyone point me to good documentation for incorporating Java
into Oracle Reports Layouts on the web? We'd like to integrate
some drop down boxes in the layout so a user can make some data
choices then execute a drill down report directly from the
layout.
Or put another way, if we have a report with 3 parameters,
rather than have to go back to the param form, we would like to
integrate a header section to the layout that would have 3 drop
downs, so as you are looking at the report, if you want to run
again, you just select your choices in the header and hit a GO
icon of some sort. Since drop downs are not available directly
in reports, we were hoping to use Java.

oracle reports 6i does not have any java integration. we have added java APIs to Oracle9i Reports in various places (e.g. datasource, destination, notification, ...)

For the more clarification, I have used JDBC Query as Data source type and Database connected via ODBC Driver in System DSN. The Driver selected from the drop-downs are jdbc-odbc.

Working with Oracle Reports

I got oracle reports APEX integration working like the how to, and even got the SSO to work, but here are some issues I'm having.
1) Using ODM is a nightmare, not fun at all. I would like to use databse usernames/passwords, not separate LDAP.
2) when you specify the SSO connection, you ahve to hard code it for everyone.
I was wondering if anyone was able to use Oracle Reports without using SSO, and not specifying username/password in the URL. Maybe, configuring Reports to use the DAD?
Anyone have any luck with this?

Wow, searching for stuff about integrating oracle reports is a nightmare, I think I found the approach I am going to use, editing the cgicmd.dat file for now. Until, we convert our entire application to a SSO with enterprise level accounts, it's probably going to be using this.
MY question is this, I was hoping to mask the URLs, thought embedding the report as a URL region in ApEx, but that didn't seem to work at all. Is it possible to use a PDF as a URL region? When I used the report I got something like teh following:
