Looking for previous post!! Windows update causing flash to not work?

A few days ago i finally fixed my problem where some automatic updates from windows caused flash to not work on some videos.  I uninstalled these updates, but can't find the question/answer that helped me with my solution.  It had to do with uninstalling 2 windows updates, KBsomething... can anyone direct me to that post??

Was it this post?

  • CS3 Updates cause programs to not work with Windows 7?

Has anyone else had their programs stop working after an Adobe update was installed?  Although I have been told by 5 different Adobe staff members that CS3 is "not at all compatible" with Windows 7...it somehow worked on two machines for 6 months.  Then a recent Adobe update caused it to not work.  I could understand if it never worked with Windows 7, but it stopped working after Adobe's update.  I am sure that Adobe has the resources to test their updates on Windows 7 machines and would have found this problem.  What would make them proceed with giving their customers this update...hmmm maybe the release of CS5???
I also asked if they could send me a CD (since I chose a download) of the original CS3 suite without the updates and they told me that they don't have any.  Really??? Adobe doesn't have any copies of a program that is only 3 years old?

Try this page to download a copy of the original...

  • 10.7.5 update caused Flash to stop working!

I updated to OSX 10.7.5 today and now Flash has stopped working.  I tried updating flash on Adobe's website and still nothing.  Anyone else run into a similar problem?

Have you tried completely uninstalling it first, using the Adobe Flash Player Install Manager in the Utilities folder, and then re-installing anew: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  • Ipod firmware updating error/flashing lights/not working

i have an ipod 512 shuffle. i also have 2 PC's. PC 1 - XP OS - has itunes 6.0 (latest version.) after i updated the ipod software to 1.1.3 version the ipod would not work. pc 2 - also XP OS. has itunes 4.0 (which came on the install disk.) ipod works fine on this PC. it will update correctly and charges correctly. ipod does not work on pc # 1. i tried to uninstall itunes from pc 1 and reload from the install disk but there must have been left over entries in the system registry that i didn't delete, as the reinstall of itunes 4.0 did not solve the problem.
bottom line for anyone from apple that actually reads this - ipod shuffle 1.1.3 update (2005-11-17(?)) works fine with itunes verison 4.0, but if itunes is upgraded to 6.0 (or most current release) the ipod will no longer work. i am a software coder. it is apparent to me that the itunes version 6.0 has introduced a bug that is preventing ipod from working.
my adice to you all, if possible, DO NOT update to the latest itunes version. my pc # 2 with itunes 4.0 works fine with my ipod version 1.1.3, but pc #1 with itunes 6.0 does not work at all.
    apple, any thoughts on this?

you can no longer download this version. if you purchased your ipod prior to july 2005 you should have version 4.0 on the install disk that came with your ipod. if you purchased it later in 2005 you most likely received 5.0 or 6.0 as your i-tunes version.

Sorry, but iTunes U is only available to K-12 public school districts, private schools and two- and four-year accredited, degree-granting, public or private colleges and universities. It's not available for corporations.

  • Windows Update Causes G500/Win8.1 to basically lock up

I have a G500 with a Win 8.1 OS and windows update causes for lack of better words a lock up.
What happens is I'll restart the system and Windows Update will kick in with a couple product updates and that will take about ten min or so and then a message pops up Windows update failed reverting system settings do not turn off your PC and a little spinning wheel off to the side that just spins and spins. First time it happened I let it spin for about six hours and then did a system reinstall and everything was fine for about a day or so and Windows Update started up again with the exact same result and I ended up reinstalling the OS again.
I have Windows Update turned completely off right now.
Any idea what is going on and how to correct the problem?

    hi scjax2014,
Your issue might be similar to this thread.
The "Failure configuring updates" error message can be caused by a security software that's blocking the update (eg. Norton 360, Mcafee Internet Security, etc.)  or a BIOS setting like Secure Boot.
To isolate, can you try the following:
    1. Apply one of the resolution in this microsoft article.
    2. If same problem, try to Install the Windows Updates manually by navigating to Control Panel (large icon view) > Windows Update.and select "Check for updates" (Windows will now gather updates applicable for your machine). When finished, click on the important updates install the updates in this order (oldest ones first):
      - Critical Updates (if any)
      - Security Updates
      - Updates for Windows 8
If you still get an error, try to install the updates one by one or three at a time and observe.
    Microsoft thread:
    Error Code 800f0922 for KB2871690
Let me know how it goes.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

After Security updation of Windows 7 in Boot Camp (Mac Book Pro with Retina Display) on 13-Nov-2013, Windows 7 Desktop Gadgets are not working properly.
This is boot camp problem, because in other normal notebooks (e.g. SONY VAIO, Lenovo with Windows 7) the gadgets are working normally.
I am attaching the screen shot of Desktop Gadgets and Security updates of Windows 7.
    Kindly solve this issue ASAP.
