Looking for recommendation on graphics card for MSI H67MA-E45 board

This board doesnt have an adjacent psi-e slot, so any card that requires that is out right ?
So the HD 5770 is out ?
Any suggestions ,looking for something at least as good as a GTS 250.But not looking to break my budget either.Would like ,but dont need dx 11support

Some of these cards list as- Required Peripheral / Interface Device- CD-ROM, adjacent PCI slot...
So all that means is it needs the space an extra slot would take up ,not the actual slot ?Thats seems a very confusing way to say that.

Cannot update BIOS for MSI H67MA-E45 (B3)

I downloaded the latest version and went to extract it and I get a file E7678v32.exe that I can't do anything with since I not running windows on the computer that I am trying to update. I don't see a method on how to extract the BIOS file from it.
This seems to be the case since Bios v 3.0

Need recommendations: New graphics card for HPE-400y

Hi! I'm in need of a new graphics card, but I don't know which one is best for my computer. My computer is a Hewlett Packard HPE-400y. Click here for specs!
My computers has all the original parts except the PSU and HDD. I recently changed the PSU to a Corsair CX430. The current hard drive is a WD Caviar Black 2TB.
I use my computer for Guild Wars 2, Maya (models and animation), Zbrush, Corel Painter, and Photoshop.
My current graphics card (Radeon HD 5450) has issues playing Guild Wars 2. The FPS is 30 or lower if I try to play the game with medium or high settings. The FPS also drops when I'm playing the group PVP event known as World Vs World. I often have to have the graphics on the lowest setting in order to get 30 -45 FPS.

Hi,
You should be able to get a double wide card in your PC. Length may be a problem due to all of the cables. If the space below the optical drive is open then you might try to stuffing the extra cable lengths into that location.
BTW-- very nice photos. Not many will go through the effort to do so.
Consider trying one of the below graphics.
MSI NVIDIA GTX N750 TI and the MSI GTX N750 TF Both of these graphics cards are significantly faster then your existing 5450.
Know what the return policy is before your buy.
You have an excellent Corsair power supply. I would prefer that you had a 500 watt PSU so that the higher performing graphics cards could be tried. This NVIDIA GTX 660 specifies at 450 watt minimum but the 12v amperage from your Corsair CX430 is more than sufficient. It might be worth giving it a go. It's about 50% faster than the above two graphics cards. I typically don't recommend that graphics cards be used with PSUs below the graphics card manufacturer's minimum requirements but the Corsair CX430 should work.

That model MBP gives you a choice of cards to use – one at a time. it is not designed for them to run in tandem - splitting up the workload.

MSI H67MA-E45-B3 (7678) System Freeze

I get freezes very often on this computer when using dual channel mode .
both of my rams are fine (2x Kingston 2GB same model) , I have tried them on both slot 1 or slot 3 , everything was fine , but when I use them on slot 1 and slot 3 , system freezes
I am using Windows 8 Pro , page file is now 300 MB min , 600 MB max .
The graphics card is : MSI NGTS-450 Cyclone .
and the CPU is i5 2310 .
I am running on BIOS Ver 3.2 (latest version)
power info :
3.3v = 3.3
5v = 5
12v = 11.6-11.7

Install only a single stick of ram then clear the cmos: >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
Run the system with optimized defaults and assuming the system is stable, re-flash the bios to the most recent. (attached)
Memtest is included with the forum tool, make sure to run it prior to any flash. If any instability is detected DO NOT FLASH.
1st check to make sure this is your board:

2nd: Install the forum flash tool:

Place the attached archive on your desktop and your fat32 formatted usb stick in a the computer.
then start the tool and point it first at the compressed archive then to the usb stick using mode 1.
Then boot to the usb and proceed to flash the bios. I would recommend running memtest which is included with the forum tool prior to flashing. I would also suggest doing this with only a single stick of ram installed in the primary DIMM for the flash.

Various MSI H67MA-E45 boot problems

Hi all,
First my specs:
-MSI H67MA-E45 with lastest bios.
-Core i5 2400
-8GB ddr3 g.skill ram
-Seagate 500gb
-xfx 6870 1gb
-Seasonic modular 520w
-Samung dvd burner sata
Here is the issue I have.
When I first got the board, I had boot order set to dvd, then hdd. I would say about once a week, completely out of the blue, the computer would boot into the bios menu instead of the hard drive (DVD burner was empty). Contacted msi support and they suggested having hdd set as first boot device. That solved the issue for couple weeks. Lately, I tried to start the computer and fan would turn but nothing else happened. I had to clear the bios memory so It could POST again. Also once in a while right after the computer POST and MSI splashscreen shows it stop right after and all I see is a flashing "_" in the upper left corner of the screen. I have to hit reset two or three times so it can finally "catch up" and load windows normally of the hdd.
My hdd tested good and are is known good. Did the same with an other PSU...I am lost !
Anyone has any input before I RMA the board?

I am using sata3 for my hdd and sata 2 for my dvd. I dont have other cables to try out but beside problems booting, HDD have always behaved fine in windows. CLear CMOS method+battery remove did nothing to help...

Does MSI H67MA-E45 BIOS compatible with SoundGraph iMON VFD?

I would like to mount SoundGraph iMON VFD in my PC. It connects to MB by USB port. The problem is that BIOS bootup stops showing 92 at the right bottom of display as SoundGraph iMON VFD is connected. If disconnected, then connected later as the bootup procedure is completed all the items operate well.

MSI h67ma-e45 reboot cycle

My computer is working normally yesterday but after I tried using it earlier the computer have a continuous cycle of on then off then on then off. The fans and lights are working but there is no beep sound when switching on the computer and it doesn't continue to boot, there is even no display on the monitor. Any ideas on my problem?

Looking for MSI FX5900 TD128 BIOS !! Need to flash back from 5950

I had flashed my BIOS a couple of months back using the WFFLash utility of Leadtek and since then ive been gettin low scores on 3dmark03!
Overclocking my 5900 once get me to get a 6300 3dmark03 score and now it doesnt go over 5800 or even less!!
I was hoping if some1 could either give me a link or if some1 had the BIOS of the GPU i own, it was be grateful!!
Even has any1 else encountered this low scores after their Flash!
Oh yeah which utility do i need to re-flash - WFFLASH or NvFlash!

The BIOS is static and flashing back probably won't make things better. I believe your scores or performance is suffering from OS decay. It might be a good idea to review all the software you have installed since you flashed your BIOS and see what's running in the backround. Perhaps even a fresh install of the drivers, maybe even a fresh install of the OS.

As such, the question is not if you must rebuild, but when you must rebuild. If you regularly check your computer and keep tabs on your system's progress over time, you'll have a much better picture of when the OS decay has gotten so bad that it's degrading the overall performance of your system.

PCI-E 2.1 X16 Graphics card on MSI K9A2VM-FD motherboard

Hi,
I recently bought an AMD Radeon 6870 graphics card to upgrade my aging machine. The card is a PCI-E 2.1 X16 card and unfortunately does not work with my current motherboard.
I was recently looking at the MSI K9A2VM-FD motherboard as a possible replacement that would work with my new graphics card. In the specs the board is said to have 1 PCI-E 2.0 X16 slot. I just wanted to check if this board will work with the card or not?
Any help on this front would be much appreciated. I am a uni student with limited funds from a part time job and, as a result, I can't afford to spend money just to find it doesn't work again.

I've already bought the HD6870, so choice of card isn't the issue. I have a 700w PSU which I have tested using a friend's old board with the new HD6870 card and it worked fine, so I definitely know that the PSU is fine and that the card works. I have a foxconn A7VMX-K at the moment and updated to the latest bios to see if that sorted the issue. However this didn't work.
I am now in the market for a new board and was looking at the MSI K9A2VM-FD board. It says it has a PCI-E 2.0 X16 slot on the specs of the seller's site and on most other sites. On some it just says that it is version 2.0 compliant, which is a bit confusing. I just wondered if anyone could tell me whether the HD6870 (PCI-E 2.1 X16) would work on this board (PCI-E 2.0 X16)? Looking to buy a graphics card

Sorry I'm very new to buying computer parts!
I bought a desktop about a year ago and I'm not in any way a hardcore gamer but I would like to be able to play simple steam games on here and see that I would need to upgrade my graphics card to do so. Is that something that perhaps the geek squad could help me out with? I see that they can instal it for me but if i were to bring my desktop to them would they be able to help me know which video card is right for me?

He is pretty much spot on unless there are motherboard revisions. This is the first motherboard I've seen that omits any kind of upgradability. It does look like a laptop motherboard to an extent but resembles a desktop in so many ways.

Bios updat help for msi x99s mpower board

Does anyone know the link for the msi x99s mpower motherboard bios updates ? i have the msi x99s mpower black and yellow motherboard i'm looking for the bios update link. because when i try to play game like csgo and h1z1 my game lags real bad and i know it is not the internet because i have tried 3 other pc on same line they all work fine and i even had my graphics card and hdd tested they all are fine so i am hoping it might be a bios issue

Or you can try OCCT which is all-in-one, stress + monitoring in one program. Select Large Data Set to stress memory. It also runs somewhat cooler than Prime95.
trust me i agree i talked to msi support and got no help they just kept telling me they know about the issuse and should have a fix for it soon, But yet i have seen many people say they have the same problem over 5 months now....... So i just talked to amazon and they said no problem they will give me a refund so now i need to find a good board to work with my i7 5820k 2011-3 pcu

Do MSI "tend" to match their graphics cards with their motherboards? .... would I benefit from matching an MSI graphics card with my K8T Neo2 motherboard?

Noooooooo, not at all.
I have some K8N neo2 platinum combined with an msi nx6800gt and although
i'm very happy with game performance, there are times i would expect more.
My GT has lots of problems when not running at stock.
Even at 365/1050 there is some stuttering (rarely, and for about 2 seconds) but
still, there is.
It could as well have been any other brand.
And i bet it could have been a better o/cer.
The only thing i HIGHLY recommend msi gards, is their EXCELLENT bundle.
Mine came with 15 cds(!!!) : DOOM 3, XIII, URU, Prince of Persia and many more.
