Looking for snap on case for 13" MBP

I had a Speck snap-on acrylic shell for my 13" unibody MacBook but apparently Speck hasn't released an updated version for the 13" MBP. Does anyone else know of a similar type case that is available now?
thanks!

I am in search of protection or a cover for my new MacBook Pro 13" and so far have not been succesful either. I have e-mailed Speck's asking for a rough estimate of when the covers will be available for the new 13" pro. My husband also has a new 13" pro and has gotten the following protection for his:
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/apple-macbook-13-inch-2nd-gen-cases-covers-s kins-shields.php
He is 100% happy with it. I however, am looking for color and more protection. I believe the zagg only makes the laptop scratch-resistant.

  • Unable to load Facebook on MBP in any browser - looking for more information

    I have searched the Internet far and wide trying to figure out what is wrong, but every suggestion I have tried has failed.  So here is my question:
    Last night, I turned on my MBP and tried to log onto Facebook.  I use Google Chrome as my default browser.  Chrome was unable to connect to www.facebook.com.  I tried in Safari also with no luck.  Facebook seems to be the only web site I cannot connect to.  Over the same wifi connection, I was able to connect to Facebook from my home PC, my iPad, and my iPhone (the actual web site and thru the app).
    This morning, I brought my MBP to work to try again.  Same problem.  I cannot access Facebook from my MBP, but I can from my work PC and my other iOS devices.  I even tried turning Personal Hotspot on my iPad and connected my MBP to that.  Still no luck.
    Based on everything I've read online, I've done many things to try to resolve this.  I've cleared my cache and cookies, I've rebooted my MBP several times, I've flushed my DNS.  I've even tried using Open DNS.  I even tried some of the more ridiculous sounding ideas, like changing the date on my MBP.  I am currently running Sophos in hopes that maybe the reason this is happening is because of some malware or trojan or something.  The only thing I HAVEN'T done yet is completely reinstalled Mountain Lion.  Honestly, I would rather avoid having to try this approach, as it seems that is a slightly extreme approach to fixing what should be a relatively straightforward problem to diagnose.
    I've been racking my brain, trying to think of any updates I could have done in the last day or two that might have caused this very specific problem.  According to System Information, the last set of updates I probably made right before this problem manifested were for Microsoft Office.  I'm showing "Office 2011 14.2.5 Update", "Microsoft Error Reporting for Mac", and the very cryptic sounding "Plugin" as all having been installed yesterday.  Based on the times each was installed, "Plugin" was not installed with the Office updates, so I'm wondering if maybe that is the culprit.  Unfortunately, I have no more information than that.
    I guess what I'm looking for are ideas on how I can better diagnose what is going on.  I've tried the solutions people have posted online to no avail. If I knew what was happening behind the scenes, that might help me figure out what I really need to do to get this working again, before I'm forced to resort to a reinstall of Mountain Lion that may or may not even resolve this issue.  If anyone has better ideas on what could be wrong or ways in which I can get more information to better diagnose this problem, please post them here.  Thank you!

    I didn't think reinstalling was gonna do me any good except for getting rid of every single thing I have ever installed since getting this MBP.  I'm thinking it has to be something that is on my computer causing this, especially since it only affects my ability to get to this one site and I only started seeing this problem yesterday.
    So, I went ahead and disabled all my Chrome extensions and I don't have any Safari extensions at all.  That didn't fix my issue.
    I've been trying to run Sophos on here, thinking that maybe I've got a Trojan or some kind of malware, but it never seems to finish a full scan of my hard drive.  That "Plugin" that I mentioned above has me very suspicious, except that whatever that is, it's been on my computer since basically when I first got it.  Maybe it's malicious, or maybe it's just a poorly named piece of software.  In any case, it got updated last night around 11pm, about the same time I noticed my problem.  After trying everything I have, it's hard for me to overlook that as coincidence.
    But, where do I go to gain more information about what that could be?  I should mention that this MBP is basically my first Apple computer.  I've been a PC guy (still am mostly) forever, but I finally dove in and got a Mac to start iOS development.  So I'm sure there are ways to get more information than I am currently aware of.
    Also, apologies if I posted this in the wrong forum.

  • I'm looking for a case/bag for the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display - any suggestions?

    As the title says, I'm looking for a case or bag for the new MBP w/ Retina Display. I'd prefer either a sleeve or a backpack designed for it - not having any luck finding sleeves that are made for the MBP w/ Retina Display, and I'm thinking the ones for the other 15" MBP will be a little too big. Any suggestions?

    Look at these, very cool.

    I have a 13" MacBook Air, Mid 2013.
    I am really worried about dropping my MacBook and breaking it. I am looking for a reasonably priced have duty case, like the ones that snap on to it and I have full flexibility of the hinge and that.
    Could anyone recommend a good case for my Mac.
    Thanks.

    Having tried every brand out there, I can honestly say that Booq is one of the best!

    I am looking to get a case to protect against scratches for my MacBook Pro 13" without visible branding. I would like to avoid skins and haven't found any snap-on cases without a logo on them. Any suggestions?

  • Looking for recommendations - new internal drive for MBP

    Hi all,
    I have a 17" MBP core 2 duo from a couple of years ago, with a 100GB 7200rpm drive. I want to swap out the drive with a new 500GB drive, still 7200rpm, so I'm looking for recommendations as to what people think are the current best of the crop. Any suggestions?
    Cheers,
    Antonio

    I was looking for a 500GB 7200RPM drive for my MBP 15" at the end of 2008, but no one made one yet. I saw the Seagate ST9500420ASG 500GB 7200RPM 16MB BUFFER SERIAL ATA listed as coming soon on MacMall and a few other places in January 2009 and ordered it as soon as it was available.
    I had done some research on power consumption and performance... Tom's Hardware had some good info on the subject. The fastest drives at the time were the 320GB 7200 RPM and 500GB 5400 RPM. If the trends I came across during my research held up, power consumption for the new Seagate shouldn't have affected my battery life too much. All my research seemed to confirm this.
    Now that I have been using the drive for a few months, I can tell you that my batter life has taken a HUGE hit. I used to easily get 5 hours with my old 120 GB stock drive... now, I'm lucky if I get 2 hours. Plus, it seems that this drive gets hot enough to cause performance issues.. I'm not sure if that's the case yet, but I will be bringing my MBP into the Apple store to check on it.
    At this point, I'm willing to sacrifice some speed for more battery life and a cooler running computer.
    All this to say, be sure you're willing to sacrifice some battery life for the biggest and fastest drive around.

  • Looking for a case for my new Macbook Pro 13'' 2011

    Any help would be great!
    I am looking for a case for my new MacBook Pro 13'' 2011. I went to the Speck website where there are plenty of nice cases to choose from, except I am a little worried that it wont fit the MBP properly. The new MBP 13'' has the same dimensions as the older model but I am mostly worried about the power mag not properly plugging into the side of the MBP.
    Have you guys heard of anyone having problems with their L-shaped power mags not fully fitting onto the macbook pro?
    I like the Speck brand very much on my MBP 15'' because I haven't had any problems with it.

    Speck casing is good and will fit EXACTLY what your MBP is.

  • Looking for a great case

    Hey, I am looking for a great case that will fit my 15in MBP, one that will not only protect it if it falls, but functions like a brief case, I want a place to put pens and documents, this does not mean it has to look like a breifcase. I just want a really professional looking case that is semi tough. Any ideas?

    Another option: I bought a nice one at REI for PWB in March, and now use it for MBP. Has space for my wacom tabet and also small 3x5 or so firewire HD, and of course power adapter and misc stuff. notebook compartment can be removed and carried separately. Very happy with it.

  • Looking for a 3g case with a belt clip

    I don't like carrying my 3g around in my pocket, so I've been looking around for a case with a belt clip, but haven't had much luck finding one. I'm looking for something that comes with a hard case for the phone, and a clip I can just snap my phone into when I'm done using it. I have a nice incase case for it now, but I'd like to have something to clip it on my belt.

  • Cases for 17" MBP?

    Hey everyone...I just received an e-mail notifying me that my new 17" MBP has shipped and I want to buy a case for it. However, I'm looking for a good, sturdy case that I can buy from a store...NOT online. Can anyone recommend any good cases that can be found at the Apple Store, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.? Thanks for any help!

    I've had the Brenthaven Pro and it's a great case like everyone says it is. But there is only ONE case worthy of holding a 17" MacBook Pro/PowerBook. That is the MacTruck from RadTech! You have NOTHING until you have a MacTruck.
    Say the word MacBook Pro then say MacTruck. Good now say "My MacTruck carries my MacBook Pro" or "My MacBook Pro is in my MacTruck". These words BELONG together, trust me.
    And don't go getting boring on us either by getting the aluminum colored MacTruck. Grab the graphite color if you really want a cool case.
    It's incredible, absolutely stunning. Plus you can use the MacBook Pro while it's still in the MacTruck. See how that rolled off your tongue? Okay class, let's say that together. "My MacTruck carries my MacBook Pro". Good job class I'm o proud of you - everyone gets an "A" for effort.
    Okay boys and girls, we can view the MacTruck at RadTech's Web Sire (www.radtech.us). They also have other cases that are pretty cool too. Also think seriously about getting their ScreensavRz and their Sleevz.
    The Sleevz is a MUST HAVE. Period. No ifs ands or buts. The ScreensavRz is great to protect the screen from oil and grease left on the keyboard from your hands. Go wash them off before dinner! Wait 'til your father gets home young man, you'll see mister.
    Lastly, get the Marware Protection Pack for a 17" MacBook Pro/PowerBook. It's an adhesive backed foam rubber (I believe) that protects the notebook from getting the palm rest scratched up while your typing and let me tell you - it's very comfortable. You'll notice that immediately.
    It also is perfect for protecting the upper corners of the LCD from rubbing against the palm rest. Ask anyone, after a while the corners show wear from rubbing against the palm rest. This is the only thing I've ever used that has actually prevented the rubbing from happening. The cool thing is that isn't even mentioned, I noticed it after I installed it on my PowerBook.
    It is perfectly positioned when applied to prevent the "corner burning". And once you get those little nasty corner burns they never come off. That's because the MacBook Pro' finish would be actually burning off leaving ugly bare corners.
    If I were you I'd protect every cent of that $2,799.00 piece of precious metal!

  • Looking for help with respect to configuring MS Exchange server to handle attachments over 10 MB for forwarding to Salesforce (Email-to-case).

    Looking for help with respect to configuring MS Exchange server to handle attachments over 10 MB for forwarding to Salesforce (Email-to-case).
    Problem - SFDC does not create cases from emails that have more than 10 MB of attachments. Our clients will not go-live if their clients cannot send in emails with attachments over 10 MBs
    Potential resolution - Configure MS exchange to strip off the attachments(if over 10 MB) and store it in a public folder, forward the email to Salesforce (so the case gets created or the email
    is associated to an existing case), the client should have some way to know if the attachments were stripped off and should be able to dlownload the attachments and continue with case resolution.
    Any help is appreicated!
    Thanks

    Hi,
    From your description, you want to achieve the following goal:
    Configure Exchange to filter the attachments if the size is over 10 MB and store it in a public folder, and then forward the email to Salesforce.
    Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid that it can't be achieved. Exchange can filter messages with attachments, but it couldn't store these attachments on public folder automatically. Also, I don't see any transport rule can do it.
    Hope my clarification is helpful.

  • Looking for a particular 1pad2 case

    I am looking for a case for the ipad2.  the case must protect the ipad2, without covering up ports and camera.  the kicker is, it needs to have a shoulder strap attached in order to be worn around the neck.

    love the new Vaja case, specially the black and red one. I had it for couple of weeks and it looks amazing.

  • Looking for a decent high quality case for the Omni10 Omni 10

    For anyone looking for the best case for the Omni 10 then this fits perfectly and is the best match for this tablet currently
    http://targus.com/uk/product_details.asp?sku=THZ200EU
    In the UK, where I live, it is available from John Lewis

    It appears that the Targus case has a cutout that would allow you to charge the device with the cover closed. The HP case doesn't allow for that.
    I wrote a review here on the HP case. I wouldn't recommend it. I should also note that the HP store personnel chose not to make my review public...seems there's some selective editing going on there which means I will never trust any reviews on that site.
    You can search here for my whole review, but basically the HP case has a couple of problems.
    1. It's very heavy for a case.
    2. The holes don't line up particularly well with things like the camera (no matter how many times you adjust the tablet and tighten loosent the velcro closure.
    3. The aforementioned charging issue.
    4. You can't have any cables plugged into the device while in Stand mode (probably also an issue with the Targus).

  • Hi, I'm currently browsing the web looking for a case that is compatible with the smart cover for the iPad 2. If anyone has any suggestions I would be glad to read all opinions! Thanks!

    Hi, I'm currently browsing the web looking for a case that is compatible with the smart cover for the iPad 2. If anyone has any suggestions I would be glad to read all opinions! Thanks!

    I love the Smart Cover. It fits the way I work and I love the instant on/off and the always available screen protection. I wouldn't use my iPad without it.
    I got a Cover Buddy for the back, because I wanted the back to be less slippery when I'm using the iPad in the classroom, teaching. I picked this back cover because it's VERY lightweight, easy to get on or off and, protects the corners, has accurate cutouts for the ports, and (in the colors) has a rubberized surface:
    http://www.switcheasy.com/products/CoverBuddy/
    I have a Built NY "hoody" slip on case with a hard internal shell that I use when I'm in the field and I can put the iPad with the Smart Cover and the Cover Buddy inside this . But for everyday use, the Smart Cover with the Cover Buddy is a terrific combination.

  • Looking for a simple way to convert a string to title case

    New to LiveCycle and Javascript.  Looking for a simple way to convert a string to title case, except acronyms.  Currently using the the following, it converts acronyms to lower case:
    var str  =  this.rawValue;
    var upCase = str.split(" ");
    for(i=0; i < upCase.length; i++) {
    upCase[i] = upCase[i].substr(0,1).toUpperCase() + upCase[i].substr(1).toLowerCase();
    this.rawValue = upCase.join(' ');

    Thanks for the reply.
    Found the following script in a forum, which works fine as a "custom validation script" in the.pdf version of my form.  However, it will not work in LiveCycle?  The problem seems to be with
    "return str.replace(/[A-Za-z0-9\u00C0-\u00FF]+[^\s-]*/g"
    function toTitleCase(str) {
    var smallWords = /^(a|an|and|as|at|but|by|en|for|if|in|nor|of|on|or|per|the|to|vs?\.?|via)$/i;
        return str.replace(/[A-Za-z0-9\u00C0-\u00FF]+[^\s-]*/g, function(match, index, title){
    if (index > 0 && index + match.length !== title.length &&
      match.search(smallWords) > -1 && title.charAt(index - 2) !== ":" &&
    (title.charAt(index + match.length) !== '-' || title.charAt(index - 1) === '-') &&
    title.charAt(index - 1).search(/[^\s-]/) < 0) {
    return match.toLowerCase();
    if (match.substr(1).search(/[A-Z]|\../) > -1) {
      return match;
      return match.charAt(0).toUpperCase() + match.substr(1);
    event.value = toTitleCase(event.value);
