Michael,
Is there any information you can give for your request? It is unclear if you are looking for a TestStand programmer or those who need a TestStand programmer. Or, perhaps there are other categories.

  • Inactivity timeout for TestStand user credentials

    Hello all,
I'm curious if anyone has done any work on inactivity timeouts for TestStand user credentials; I am looking for some solution that will allow windows to lock, but if i have a test running and I walk away, my credentials will lock after the test has finished.  Anyone have any ideas on where I can start some research into this?

    Hi Bill,
In order to programmatically log out of TestStand, you first have to programmatically shut down the TestStand Engine. To execute the FrontEnd Callback to log out of TestStand, you will have to create a Property Object to pass to the LoginLogout Callback.
    Locals.PropObj = RunState.Engine.NewPropertyObject(PropValType_Container,False,"",0),
    Locals.PropObj.AsPropertyObject.SetValBoolean ("logoutOnly", PropOption_InsertIfMissing, True),
    Locals.PropObj.AsPropertyObject.SetValBoolean ("isInitialLogin", PropOption_InsertIfMissing, False),
    RunState.Engine.CallFrontEndCallbackEx("LoginLogout",Locals.PropObj.AsPropertyObject,ConflictHandler_Prompt,0)
You will also have to develop a code module to poll for UI messages after calling the first Shutdown sequence.
Are you intending to run a test, walk away, and come back hours later to a completed test and TestStand idle? Or are you wanting to abort an abandoned test and reset to the initial login screen? This is going to be a fairly complex implementation, so I'm trying to make sure of your intentions.

    Martnlindhe,
I chose to purchase a MacMini Intel model to hookup to my 36 inch Sony TV.
I chose this model for several reasons as I also have a Web Camera hooked up to it at the same time via Firewire. I use Front Row and iTunes to distribute music throughout the house wirelessly to other stereos and to view what is playing now via the TV.
Here are some photos of the MacMini hooked up to the TV and using Front Row.

    http://users.sisqtel.net/jkriz/MacMini/FrontRow.jpg
    http://users.sisqtel.net/jkriz/MacMini/frontrow_albumcovers.jpg
The photos aren't that great but you get the idea. The TV screen looks great in person as opposed to the photos with the glare and the darkness.
Some TV's don't look as good as my TV looks from what I have heard so your TV may or may not look as good. I am about to upgrade to a 42 inch Panasonic HD Plasma TV which should give an even better picture. At this time, my TV is connected to the MacMini via the "S-Video" cable. The HDMI video cable is a better choice if your TV has that capability.
The new iTV from Apple is rumored to be released sometime this coming Spring.

  • Looking for the user photo.

    Hi-
This should be an easy question, but I can't for life of me find this thing. When a user purchases a Mac or does a fresh install on a Mac that has an iSight built in, they have the option to take a photo for use in the user account, address book, etc. Does anyone know where it stores this image? I like that photo and want to use it other places (like social networks, etc.) I have looked in my photos folder, but it wasn't there.
Searching on Google for this has been fruitless. Any help would be very appreciated.

It should be in /Library/Caches, with a filename something like
    com.apple.user-picture-501-blah-blah-blah.tif

  • Looking for Better User Interface Controls

I'm working on an Labwindows CVI application where a tachometer meter with a
programmable "red-line" affect to define safe running conditions is desired.
The controls available in the Labwindows palate provide a meter control,
however, no capability exists for customizing it. A conversation with NI
Tech support resulted in confirmation that my desire could not be realized.
Is anyone aware of additional user interface libraries (internal to NI or
available comerically) that may help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

I'm not sure if this helps, or how you would drop it onto a CVI interface,
but I found something in National Instruments ComponentWorks which might
work. I did this in Visual Basic and ComponentWorks, and don't know if there
is a similar object in ComponentWorks++. What I did was open up a form and
add a CWKnob component to it. The CWKnob has several pages of properties
which you can use to customize it at design time, and you shuold be able
to access them and change them programmatically at run time also (like changing
the red line position). Instead of the default view of the CWKnob, I went
to the Style sheet and selected 'Dial', which makes it look like a meter.
Then I went to the Pointer sheet and added another pointer, Pointer-2.
I selected the Fill Style to
be 'Fill to Maximum', and the color red. This
puts a second point on the meter, where everything above the pointer to the
max value is a red band. To hide the pointer and only have the red band,
I set its Style to 'None'. You can set its value (red line) on the property
page, and I expect you can do this programmatically, too, although I didn't
take the time to try it out.
    Hope this helps,
    Dave

  • Looking for a "User Dashboard"

I'm trying to understand if a user dashboard exists that allows a manager-level view of User CRM activity. As a sales manager I just want a simple dashboard that gives me insight into the daily activities of my salesteam...does anything like this exist in BC? Thank you!

    Hi Prakhar ,
Sorry , I wasn't clear enough. I was looking particularly for setting of the DASHBOARD, but stuggeling to find any guide for it.
I'm wondering how to adjust standard SAP Tab Types, what are Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Tabs exactly for? How to configure them. UI setting, what is a 'temporary configuration for executions' is, etc.

  • Looking for BPC user contacts with large numbers of dimension members

I would like to make contact with other BPC users that have multiple dimensions with dimension members in excess of 10K.
    Thanks,

    Hi Helene,
With 3,000 members you should not be experiencing these problems, if your report is designed properly.
I'm running BPC 5.1 SP8 on SQL 2005, with a dimension containing 22,000 members. Client PC's are typical (XP, Excel 2007, 1 or 2 gig RAM).
Using EVDRE and this dimension expanding on the rows, most reports & input schedules can expand & refresh in the range of 10 to 30 seconds.
The faster times are when I use a row expansion memberset using dimension properties, such as Active="X". The slower times are when the memberset is hierarchy-based, such as BAS.
If you're using a dynamic template (one using EVEXP for the expansion) then you should start over using EVDRE. It will be much faster, particularly if you optimize your row expansion.
It's often a good idea to add dimension properties specifically for the purpose of optimizing the report expansion, if the dimension has thousands of members. I sometimes go as far as to add properties which mimic the hierarchy (MyLevel2, MyLevel3, etc) just for this purpose.

  • Looking for writing User Manual

We developed a application and we want to know is there any tool or Apex supports writing user Manual/technical manual (help file) .
Currently we are writing in word doc.
    Any help is really appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi,
Apex has built in help facilities. Virtually any item you create has a help text section which can be activated at an item level. Context sensitive page level help can also be added to an application which automatically hooks into this help text. See the following
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/app_comp.htm#CHDCDBFB
A tip for this is that if you enter your help text as raw html, it will display formatted. An easy way to do this is to create a dummy page with one item that is a text area with HTML editor. You can create your formatted text in this area and then switch the view to html text. This text can then be cut and pasted into the help text field for the relevant item.
Another tip is to create your help text page with a close button (there is a javascript URL for doing this) and then editing the help item in the navigation bar to launch the page as a popup. (Using javascript popup URL).
    Regards
    Andre

  • Look for queries that belong to user group

    Hi guys
I went to transaction code SQ01 to look for other user queries and after I type the user group I am not able to see the qryes for this particular group.
Should I have to do something extra that I have missed ?
    Thanks

    Hello-
In SQ01 menu please go to EDIT --> Other User Group and select the user group you want to. If you maintain more than one query area, go to ENVIRONMENT - -> Query Areas and select the query area you want to see the report in and then you can look at the user groups as mentioned above.
    Hope this helps.

  • New Mac user looking for help with Finder, Preview, Keyboard, & Dock

So about a month ago I switched over from a lifelong Windows user to a brand new MacBook Pro, and while I am adjusting pretty well, there are still some things that I haven't quite figured out.
First up on the list is Finder! I like my files to be arranged just like how they are in Windows Explorer--folders first alphabetically, then files alphabetically. I've managed to acquire this setting by messing around with the "clean up by" and "arrange by" functions but I don't really know the specific combination. Most of the time these preferences are saved and set as the defaults under "View Options" but every once in a while it resets and I have to tinker around with the settings all over again. Does anyone know of a way to fix this? It's only happened twice so far, but I'd rather not have it happen again. Also, occasionally when I delete an item, there is a blank space left where the icon was instead of all the files following it bumping up a space. Any quick fixes for this bug?
Next up is Preview. Again, I like the Windows Way and I like to be able to browse between the files in a folder while using Preview/Windows Photo Viewer. I know that there is a way to browse between files if you select the whole folder and stick it in Preview, but is there a way to achieve the same result without having to do that? An app or "extension" of some sort that adds arrows in to browse between photos? I've had no luck finding anything other than the aforementioned option. Is there a good free alternative to Preview that will function similarly with the browse between photos option?
One of my favorite things about my new Mac is the backlit keyboard function. My old laptop didn't have it and as someone who is online more often at night it is super helpful. But is there a way to turn it off during the day/in bright settings? A way to put it on a timer? In System Preferences I selected the option "Adjust keyboard brightness in low light", which I assumed to mean would have the keyboard NOT very bright when there IS light, but it continues to light up just the same. Any apps or extensions to help with this one?
And finally, the dock! This question is more about aesthetics than functionality but help is appreciated all the same. Currently, my dock looks like this: http://i42.tinypic.com/35ktxlz.png It is rather opaque and the indicator lights can barely be seen. However, in a lot of tutorial videos I've been watching, many people have docks that look like this: http://i.i.cbsi.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim/2011/07/19/Lion_LaunchPad.png It is a darker shade of gray, the divider is dashed rather than a straight line, and the indicator lights are clearly visible. Does anybody know how to get this look for the dock? I've looked in the dock preferences but there's not really anything in there other than magnification/size/effects.
That about sums things up! I'm sorry if any of these seem like "silly" questions but they are all things I have been unable to find answers for. Any and all tips, tricks, and help is appreciated! Thanks in advance for all your help!!

congratulations on coming over from the dark side.
Seems like you are interested in column view, which would show you the hierarchy of folders and files:  Column View in Mac OS X Mountain Lion - For Dummies Not sure what's going on if your finder settings don't stay put. May be a corrupted preferences file, which is easy to fix, but is perhaps a topic for another discussion.
What I'd suggest is to have an open mind and try to see what the mac can do, rather than force it to look like your windows machine. I mean, if you just want it to look like windows, then why bother switching? If you give it a little time, you'll start to appreciate the mac way of doing things, and see how it is infinitely more awesome, powerful, creative, intuitive, and better designed (and the software way better written)  than what you left behind. But that's your call.
There are some threads on this forum with complaints about the backlight. Keyboard backlight settings query...: Apple Support Communities  Evidently it depends on the angle of the screen and the light sensor relative to the light. Some suggest that a SMC reset may help: Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)  This is not an issue for me, I just adjust the brightness with the keyboard buttons if I want. Real men shift their own gears, drink their coffee black, and adjust their own keyboard brightness. I am not aware of any software to exert more control over this feature but a search of macupdate  Download Apple Mac Software & iPhone Software : MacUpdate may help. I mean, it's up to you what is important. I can waste a lot of time playing around with the GUI and with unnecessary software, or I can just get my work (and play) done.
You might prefer the no-glass dock, that removes the shelf, and makes the indicator lights like more discrete orbs. You can do this with the terminal. Using the terminal is also, perhaps, a topic for another discussion.I like the 2D dock much better. If you want I'll give you some directions for how to do it. Otherwise, here's a reference: 2D Dock - MacRumors Forums
