Looking for usb dfu device--Help

Question

I just bought a used ipod nano 2gb 2nd generation. My kids already have ipods so itunes is already on the computer. the new/used one wont turn on. cant charge it with the computer because i keep getting the message "find usb dfu device" which my computer cant find....Help

Even if it doesn't have the correct drivers
installed, it should still turn on and charge.
Have a look at these.

I have tried all of the above and I still have the
same error. So my question is since I bought it off
ebay and it is still under warranty, will apple
replace it even though I am not the orginal owner?
