Looking for web(http) frontend for MySQL

The second url is correct, only that the parenthesis became a part of it. Try http://developer.mimer.com , but it doesn't have anything to do with MySQL anyway.
You can always look at Sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=68 to brows among database front ends).

There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.

• Looking for a simple, standalone desktop app for web stats

Well, I see they've changed the forums here again. SIGH.
Anyway, a certain web host has eliminated AWStats from it's shared hosting. So I used Webmaster Tools. And now they've changed, and no longer display the simple visitors and hits. Google Analytics is way too complex for what I need, as are many of the stats programs I've looked into.
I can download the daily Apache log files, that's no problem. Just looking for a small standalone program to import these and show the data like AWStats. Any suggestions? The only other options would be to go to a different web host. Not a big deal overall, but I would rather not deal with the hassle, especially the migrating the database.

Not sure of standalone 'desktop' apps. But check out http://www.openwebanalytics.com/ and Web Analytics in Real Time | Clicky - they're both very intuitive and easy to use with a lot more simplified stats than Google Analytics.

• Looking for a simple photo gallery web server setup

Hi,
I have Arch running on my low powered AMD HP microserver and am looking at letting relatives,friends etc see my photos over the web.
I have php and sqlite3 already installed and dyndns setup.
What further would I need (I'm looking for as painless, light and small as possible setup)
Cheers
Smiffy

Yes - I've tried that and could try a few different setups until I find what I want.
I was more looking for any recommendations especially from someone who has set something like this up before.
This page was useful :-

BBGallery looks good and simple to me but needs GIMP (I have a headless server so don't really want to install extraneous sw)

• Hi, I'm currently browsing the web looking for a case that is compatible with the smart cover for the iPad 2. If anyone has any suggestions I would be glad to read all opinions! Thanks!

Hi, I'm currently browsing the web looking for a case that is compatible with the smart cover for the iPad 2. If anyone has any suggestions I would be glad to read all opinions! Thanks!

I love the Smart Cover. It fits the way I work and I love the instant on/off and the always available screen protection. I wouldn't use my iPad without it.
I got a Cover Buddy for the back, because I wanted the back to be less slippery when I'm using the iPad in the classroom, teaching. I picked this back cover because it's VERY lightweight, easy to get on or off and, protects the corners, has accurate cutouts for the ports, and (in the colors) has a rubberized surface:
http://www.switcheasy.com/products/CoverBuddy/
I have a Built NY "hoody" slip on case with a hard internal shell that I use when I'm in the field and I can put the iPad with the Smart Cover and the Cover Buddy inside this . But for everyday use, the Smart Cover with the Cover Buddy is a terrific combination.

• Getting best possible look for the web!

I am using Compressor for compressing my footage for the web. When I export out of FCP my footage looks nice and crystal clear however when I compress the footage then upload to the net its not as nice looking as it was. Now I recently bought a Compressor DVD Tutorial by Ripple Training Series. I pretty much knew just about everything on that DVD. I did try some suggestive settings that have made somewhat of a difference but its not crystal clear like many videos I see uploaded to DVXuser. The settings below might be okay it might just be the hosting site I have my videos on. Currently I am using www.sharkle.com
Here are some settings I use:
Compression Type - Sorenson Video 3
Frame Rate 15
Key Frame Every 75 frames
Quality - Medium
Restrict Data to 400kbps (this is for DSL modems) around 1500 for cable modems
Audio
Q Design Music 2
Channels = Stereo
Sample Rate = 48k
Streaming = Fast Start
Geometry
320x240
If anyone sees anything that I should change or try out differently please let me know. Again I am using Compressor and can also compress using Quicktime as well.
Here is a link to the latest video I completed for the web:
http://www.sharkle.com/video/78755/
I am not sure if SHARKLE is recompressing the footage. If it is then thats why its not as good of quality.

Their making a FLV file from your sent in video.
Push your video back up to a high quality movie and send that in to them.
What you have sent in has all been squeezed highly with compression. Then they take and further compress it in the FLV format. Double compressing...not good.

• Calling external Web Service: PI is looking for a logical port and proxy.

Hi,
My scenario is ECC Proxy -> PI -> External Webservice (WS adapter).
the Web service adapter fails with the error message:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
- <!-- Call Adapter
-->
- <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">
<SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
<SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">WS_ADAPTER_SYS_ERROR</SAP:Code>
<SAP:P1 />
<SAP:P2 />
<SAP:P3 />
<SAP:P4 />
<SAP:AdditionalText />
<SAP:Stack>System error while calling Web service adapter: Error when initializing SOAP client application: 'error_text'</SAP:Stack>
<SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
</SAP:Error>
When I debug the message processing, it is looking for a port in table SSRVRTCONFIG, finds it(entry created automatically when WS adapter and the corresponding receiver agreement is activated in ID.
Then the program looks for an entry in "SRT_CFG_CLI_ASGN" for a proxy and logical port combination and errors out.
to be able to call an external web service, do we need a proxy to be created? I tried to create but the proxy creation fails because the external WSDL has some unsupported tags.
Also do we need to do any other configuration in SOAMANAGER? I am assuming not because the Web service is external.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Vijay

I already checked that note and made sure that the points mentioned are met. I have a trace set up on the target system and would know if the call reaches them and then fails in authorization. Right now the call doesnt even reach the target system and also from debugging I know that the program is looking for a proxy and then fails.

• Newbie looking for maven-based web projects

I'm looking looking for maven-based web projects so I could learn how to orginize and configure code and configuration files respectively. Thx in advance.

Tones of good material exists at the Maven2 site:

• Looking for alternative to Web Start

Hello all,
After a couple years of using Java Web Start to deploy our educational software to schools, we're starting to realize that we need a new deployment strategy.
h4. Here's what we're looking for:
1. All files should be kept in OS-standard locations for applications, such as Program Files for Windows and Applications for Macs. Deployment of this program should be no harder for admins than for any other application. That means nothing in the User home folder.
2. Can be installed directly from a CD or USB stick
3. Can be easily updated as new versions are rolled out (i.e. can download the new jars from our servers).
Does anyone know anything off the shelf that works like this?
h4. Here are the problems with what we have now:
1. Web Start deploys jars (by default) into Users' home folders. This causes the following problems:
1a. Every user on the computer has to install the program individually.
1b. System administrators don't have any tools or patters for large-scale deployment of programs into user's home folders.
1c. Users may have limited space on their home folders.
1d. Users' home folders may be on networked drives, meaning that all the jars need to be fetched over the network every time they run.
1e. Users' home folders may be regularly cleaned.
2. Although Web Start's cache folder can be changed, users may not have write access to those locations, so Web Start will not function for those users if they need to download new jars. While this may be ok for our software alone, it will break any other Web Start application. Web Start cannot have different caches for different applications.
2b. Also, administrators don't have standard ways to deploy to random cache directories on computers.
3. There is no easy way to install Web Start applications from CDs. Jar files have to go into the right folders as if they were being downloaded from a server. We have a way of doing this by starting up a Jetty server, but it is not very robust.
...however, we still want the ease of Web Start's updating. We want to be able to push out new versions, which admins could update and deploy to their schools the way they do for all other applications, and we also want to support rapid-release cycles for our researchers and people working on the cutting edge of our software. Preferably this would need to involve some kind of jar-differencing, as users should only have to download the smallest subset necessary.
I'm sure we could write this ourselves, but I imagine we aren't the first people to have these kinds of requirements and problems with Web Start. Has anything been written that seems to approach what we want?
Thanks,
Sam

If you're willing to pay, you might wish to try Denova's JExpress. http://www.denova.com/
It creates proper installers and has autoupdate support. I've not tried it but it seems to be the off the shelf solution you're looking for.
You might wish to roll your own by using the open source netx implementation of the jnlp protocol. The basic idea is that you create an installation exe for Windows and package for the Mac wrapped around the netx application. It's a bit fiddly but it does work (I've done this myself). For the time you spend doing this though, you'd probably be better off with JExpress.

Hello otechcomputing. is this how you want to setup your network?
If so, Guest Networks cannot be " extended" since it has Website Authentication encryption which the RE1000 does not support. Here are my suggestions:
1. Main Network WiFi password should be WPA2 Personal (more secured)
2. Enable Guest Access (password protected)
3. Reconfigure the RE1000 to connect to the EA6500 (main network) and change the extender's network name and password (still WPA2 Personal). You can name it with "EXT" at the end to designate it as such.

Tryin to put apps on new I phone 4s! Went to web site and got applied but when I go to App Store it's looking for card details! Do I have to give these

I suggest that you contact iTunes support. http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html It could be what Lawerence said. Debit cards are not always accepted. Many say they are not any more, but those that already existed are okay. If you are getting this error declining the card, I feel this is the case for you.

• New To Web Design Looking For Tutorials

Hi, I am looking for some help and I am hoping that one of you can help me. I am a total beginner, as in complete beginner. I am looking to do a certified web design course, but can anyone point me in the direction of some DWCS5 tutorials. Beginner ones though, would like to gain some experience at least before I start my course.
Thanks.

The very best advice I can offer a beginner is to put Dreamweaver away. First focus on learning HTML and CSS code. Without a working knowledge of code basics, DW has a steep learning curve. If you understand code fundamentals, DW is easy to figure out.
