Looking for workaround to iPhoto startup message current screen resol...

Hi,
I just picked up a Mac Mini to use in my Living Room with Front Row. When I first launched iPhoto to get my library set up, I got a message saying "The current screen resolution is not optimal for iPhoto". I clicked OK and was able to do everything I needed to however when I started Front Row, I was unable to view Photos if iPhoto wasn't running until I cleared this message.
My screen resolution is set to 800X600 and I can't increase it because if my TV so I'm looking for a way to override this message automatically.
I have a second Mac Mini on order for my basement and I'm going to have the same issue there. I was unable to find anything on the discussion board aside from a tech bulleting saying the display resolution needs to be 800*600 or greater.

I'm migrating a new 15" Macbook Pro with retina display - using Time Machine.
I've started Migration Assistant on the new mac and selected to transfer info from Time Machine.
After I click continue, I get a "Looking for source..." message that goes on FOREVER.
My hard drive is connected to my new macbook with a USB cable.
(I'm migrating this way because I don't have a Thunderbolt adapter.)
What am I doing wrong? Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm having the same problem. I checked the hard drive and it shows backups done earlier today but Migration Assistant just shows the spinning gear with "Looking for source . . ."
Anybody have suggestions?

No you won't necessarily lose your photos when upgrading but it's very very unwise not to back up first. Backing up is like using a seat belt in a car. You can drive without one for years and have no issues, but if you do have a problem the outcome will be a lot worse. So, too, with back ups. And upgrading is one of those times when the risks of a problem are higher.
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

It should be under Store > View My Account > iTunes In The Cloud > Manage Devices. That screen can't be used to deauthorise computers, only change the automatic download status.

If it is disabled in BIOS make sure that you do not have something enabled that needs to access it on boot.I think you can disable it in Client Security Solution or under the Fingerprint Reader to disable the prompt or anything that is trying to make it active...

I think if your looking for that kind of protection its pretty much going to add bulk...I've searched through hundreds of cases and those are the smallest with built in screen protectors...im 5' tall 100lbs and the ballistic fits in my pocket comfortably...I've never seen an otterbox on one so I can't truly compare them...I know I found a leather flip front case with a screen protector on Amazon too...very little protection and far from waterproof though...they have baggy kind of things that are waterproof that you can use your phone through...I don't know if it would fit in with any kind of case on it though

Looking for a function that returns the currently opened document type

I have a user exit for transaction VA02. In VA02, when I click on button (Item details-configuration),
it launches a URL in a browser. I am asked to add to the URL, values like Document Type, Document Number
and Line Item Number.
I can get Document Number and Line Item Number from the presently opened Sales Document by using the standard Function 'CUCB_GET_OWNER_OF_CFG'.
However, I am not able get the value of Document Type. Is there any function that will give me
the value of the Document type of the present document that is open.
Any feedback/Suggestion will be highly appreciated.

If you're in a VA02 user exit, the document type should be in VBAK-AUART, if I remember the field name correctly. I would think that ANYWHERE in VA02, that field will be available to you.
If you want the text of the document type, forward navigate from vbak-auart data element to the domain and look at the values...there'll be a config (T) table (and you may need to add T to the end to get the associated text table) that describes the document type in your system's language, like:
E OR Order
or something like that... Sorry, in my installation, we don't use the logistics modules, so I'm writing from memory.

(VS 2010 C++) cl.exe crashes when a lot of include paths are passed with /Zi, looking for workarounds

If i pass a lot of include paths to cl.exe that comes with Visual Studio 2010, and i also pass /Zi, cl.exe crashes (16.00.40219.01). Here's an attachment to reproduce the issue: http://www.filedropper.com/clexecrash
Extract the folder to your system drive root (C:\), and paste the contents of command.txt into a cmd.exe instance. cl.exe will crash.
test.cmd is a command file containing the line "/IREALLY_LONG_BOGUS_INCLUDE_PATH" 683 times, and /Zi. Please note, that if you either remove even one line of "/IREALLY_LONG_BOGUS_INCLUDE_PATH" or /Zi, the issue goes away. Without /Zi, there
seems to be no limitation of include paths. Please also note, that it's not the sheer number of /I switches that causes this crash, if you replace REALLY_LONG_BOGUS_INCLUDE_PATH with something longer, you can crash cl.exe with less /I switches.
This issue is also present in Visual Studio 2012 (17.00.61030), but seems to be fixed in 2015 CTP 5 (i don't have access to Visual Studio 2013, so i can't try). I know Visual Studio 2010 is not supported anymore, so does anyone know a workaround for this problem?

I cannot reproduce this issue with VS2013, your sample works well and generate a pdb file.
It seems a issue in VS 2012, but sorry about that I have no workaround for this. Please check this thread: this issue only appear in debug mode.

Where to look for more information on Banner message?

I just upgratded my OPM 1.1 to 2.0.Now I get a banner messaage for one of my clusters which states "Unable to consistently collect from Cluster MyCluster (MyCluster)." I read the online help and understand that it was not able to successfully get more than 95% of the performance data collections during the last 24 hrs.But where can I see how many were actually missed and when? I checked the cluster and it was available during the whole time and if OPM had a problem, I would expect seeing this banner at more than just one cluster (actually monitoring 8). Looking for a laser printer that can reproduce screens below 5%

I need to purchase a new laserprinter. Much of our work involves documents with screens in the 2-10%range. Our current printers cannot reproduce screens below 5% black andperhaps 8% Reflex or say PMS 185.
These are hard copy proofs for layout and our customers and pressmen need to see reasonably accurate screens.
What are you all using?

I'm looking for a script that preloads a Splash Screen on Android

I've read all threads here already about this subject. For most AdobeAir projects for Android, no matter what size, it could take up to 20 sec to load the app, and while it loads, all you see is a black screen. As there's no support for a Default.png like there is for iPhone, we have to use a preloader.
I've only found one for Flex, which is no good to me as I'm using Flash Pro 5.5 (IDE). I've tried doing some simple preload-a-swf-preloader but it just loads it to 100% before showing anything anyway.
Anyone here that can share a script of a simple preloader for Flash CS5.5?
I know that to reduce the loading time and show a splash screen on android we need to make a very small swf that will contain the loading screen image, and that same swf will also preload the maingame.swf (but can that be done? Appstore don't like code in more than one swf) into it. My tries have failed.
Here's some quotes in case someone who reads this might be knowledgable enough to help me out:
Yes its possible to get a splash to appear straight away (well within one to 2 seconds which is close enough) but
(a) You have to create a small splash .SWF which loads your main .SWF (OK so that's fairly obvious but a "Default.PNG" splash screen facility as per the iPhone packager and FLEX projects is what you might expect)
(b) Your splash .SWF must embed the splash image. If you try to dynamically load an image nothing will appear until the whole of the APK file is loaded ( and presumably initialised). That was what I was doing wrong.
It takes 20 sec to load, it's all black before it's done loading and the runtime takes up 25mb!
(1) Yes that is a bit of a problem but seems to be the cost of compiling in the AIR runtime. I am sure that most mobile projects only use a subset of the entire AIR library - its a shame you can't just compile in the bits that you need and drop the rest.
(2) This is partly because of (1) and the fact it takes so long to get a big file up and running with AIR. You need to create a preloader that is very small and all it does is display a splashscreen and then loads in the main 25mb file that you embed in the assets of your preloader. The small preloader appears quickly and then gives you time to do your 'work' loading the main app with something onscreen. This gives an example / explanation and there are others out there :

Using the FileSystemObject object to delete a folder will delete the profile directory, but it won't delete its associated registry path:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\user's SID
There are also two other complications: 1. you can't delete a profile for a user that's logged on; and 2. the user might have logged off, but the profile might not be completely unloaded (see

In the meantime, I recommend 'uphclean' and the 'delprof.exe' found in the Resource Kit utilities.
