Brand Loyal BB'r looking forward to Z10 Updates.

I am a Brand Loyal BB'r having had Storm 1, Storm 2, Torch 1 and Torch 2, I love the Z10 and I am looking forward to Z10 Updates.
Yes all phones from all brands have their quirks, i like the Top BB handsets, as i do not see many people with them, and do not want to be in the Iphone/Android club, so have stayed with BB.
I am sure that when the updates come through it will be even better.
Even Microsoft releases under developed OS and relies on Bug reports to further develop it.
I know it feels like we should be further on with the BB software at this point, but if RIM are listening then they could develop this into a great platform.
My most annoying bug is that facebook does not update, sometimes it has the latest news feed from hours, days ago, and not up to date.
So hanging on in there...here!

If you refresh the timeline in Facebook for BlackBerry does it still not refresh? Also if you log into Facebook on the computer is your timeline set for Top Stories or Most Recent? Whatever this setting is set to is what will be displayed in the application.

the month end date. so for 1/31/2010, the 4th day is 2/4/2010. then i want to get the value from line column in the 4th row and copy that in the current row,
in this case 1/31/2010 line column becomes null since 2/4/2010 has null value
in the case of 444, 3/31 is month end but there is no 4th day to move forward, in this case just display the data.
in the case of 555, there is no month end date so just display the rows for 555 and no need to move forward
i try using last value analytic function but this function will skips row that are null which proceduce invalid result.
if the 4th row we trying to copy from has null values then i want those null values as display in output above.
also i am using oracle 9i 9.2 version and ignore null is not supported.
can someone help me write a query that give above output? thanks alot

You're right: repeating basically the same CASE expression 8 (or is it 2 + 8 = 10) times is not a very good idea.
On each row of output, you want 8 columns from some row of the table: possibly the same row, possibly the 4th subsequent row. That sounds like a self-join. Think of joining a "base" row (containing the dt) to a "detail" row of the same table. When dt is the last day of the month, and there are at least 4 later rows, then the detail row will be the 4th later row. In all other cases, the detail row will be the same as the base row.
How can we find the detail row for a given base row? The same way we found the appropriate line value before; only instead of getting tyhe value of line, we need something that will uniquely identify the detail row. If your table has a one-column primary key, you could return that, and use it in the join condition. In the query below, I assume that the combination (cid, dt) uniquely identifies each row.

What I'd like to see in the next update...

Long time PC user. Bought a Mac last Xmas to make use of some great easy-to-use programs that aren't available through PC so me and my wife can use (ie GarageBand)
We were looking to make our website and found out ilife '06 had iweb. Read about all the great things and WYSIWYG format. Rushed out and purchased one. Started playing around only to realize its real limitations in modifications to templates and such.
What I've been trying to do is simply expand my page a little so that I don't get a solid fill color on either side once I publish my page. I'm able to stretch the background, but the header remains. I've read the posts where others have edited the actual templates file, but I'm hesitant. Sounds like it'll take some time and I'm not entirely comfortable in doing that.
My biggest question is why iWeb doesn't allow customization of the templates. I'm not talking about a full overhaul, just some modifications on size and shape, etc. So my main point is that I would like some more flexibility to customize the existing (and any upcoming) templates. Perhaps the next update (or some update down the road) will incorporate that? From what I've read, it would be useful for many other users as well.

My answer to why it doesn't allow customization to templates is probably related to why Vista still isn't shipping. It was probably a hard decision to make to lock down the templates so much, but given a schedule that had to be met in order to ship in time for MacWorld, it had to be cut. It's not that it CAN'T be done (as other users have shown) but probably more that the easy to use and understand GUI for it wasn't going to be completed in time.
Maybe the GUI belongs in the inspector, maybe it belongs floating over the document window like the Adjust and Star editing tools, maybe it should be under Text, but what if you want to use a Graphic instead? Then putting it under Text wouldn't make sense. Oh, what if a user wants to use a shape for a menu button? Instead of being locked to the top, or side how about allowing a rollover button to be anywhere on a page? Would these elsewhere-on-the-page buttons be created the same as the menu ones so that the menu now becomes a specialized version of an "elsewhere" button?
And those are just questions I can think of off the top of my head that could affect how to implement the feature!

Adobe just announced ACR 8.5 RC: Camera Raw 8.5 RC and DNG Converter 8.5 RC Now Available
Some very useful new features are included along with the usual support for new camera models, such as the ability to modify gradients with a new brush tool and being able to display a mask overlay for gradients... Nice! Looking forward to seeing LR 5.5 (or perhaps even 6?). No news on a release candidate for LR; perhaps there won't be one as per 5.4.

Could this mean that although the Beta update is stated to be for both CS6 and CC that the new features (outside the camera additions) would not be implemented with a CS6 install?

That really ***, I have been playing with mine and can't believe I can't use 3/4 of the sites I like on it.
My Android tab runs Flash just fine, and has done so for 2 years. Are you suggesting one day Adobe is going to break in my house and uninstall it?
I don't understand this at all, it seems at every turn I try to use this thing like my android tab and I simply can't, all I've found so far to actually be able to do is use iTunes for everything... pretty lame and something I'm not going to do when I can get this content free on all my other devices.
This is truly a shame. I was really hoping I was just doing something wrong. Glad I only spent $50 on it at a garage sale.

Next Update

Dislike the 5.0 version greatly. 4.6 version was better and been strongly advised not to downgrade back to it. So for next update, things to consider:
Keypad lock - there was nothing wrong with Lock + Green phone, why you have to use the mute button is silly in my opinion, at least give an option of one or the other and not make it mandatory.
Text messages - Having it like BBM means that if I make a mistake and inadvertently press enter instead of backspace, I waste a text message and money. The old system of centre pad and confirm was fine. Possible one is to have an option for confirm box after pressing enter in case it was by accident
Backlight - goes in with locking the phone again, used to stay lit and say it was locked, then if you pressed any button, you would light it again, which in my opinion was useful.
Just things to perhaps consider and maybe give us options with which way we want to do things, not all people hate options, options are good, don't force us to do things the Blackberry way all the time.
ps. If there are possibilities to change them already, please state how as I am unaware of these as I have been looking at changing settings for these things with no joy

Fiscal date DD-MON and year end looking forward

Trying to figure out the best way to look forward to the new year and back to the old year when comparing sysdate to a table column fiscal that is formatted DD-MON. The process works perfectly during the year, since is uses current year when comparing data. But at the end of the year, we do not see anything past 12/31 or before 1/1 in a new year. Any ideas? I was thinking of declaring a couple of values and based on sysdate Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec to add 1 year to Fiscal months Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr so they appear as the next year and vice versa for the first months of a new year, subtract one year from the fiscals to indicate previous year. Has anyone worked on something like this in the past?

If anyone know about below points available in current version the kindly reply the way.
Feature request for next update.
1. When I view sms it does not allow me to view previous or next using right or left navigation. All the time I need to close current sms view and move down or up for previous or next sms and open it.
2. Instead of adding "Sim Manager" bar, it can show on top of the screen network signal symbol like regular other mobile view.
3. In Personalise view setting, add few more option to have quick access on front screen display.
4. When we open menu, we need to navigate using up-down-right-left key, instead after opening menu we can have keypad shortcut from 0 to 9 atleast.
5. For demo application, allow us access to remove once demo expired. This will freeup space.
6. Wall paper for active screen is already available to user to customize but we can not change wall paper for manu and when locked.
7. Mail application does not show bigger size mails.
8. If we rename any video file extention to say from video.3gp to video.txt but still video player detect that video. There is no way to hide any video or image or any file. Need to have some way.

Adobe Forums - it's going to look a little different next week

Easy explanation. He displayed both pages shortly each after, this is why under Konqueror there is one more posting. He is using Firefox as his primary browser I guess, therefore Konqueror has him not marked as logged in. I'm an architect looking forward to purchasing a new Mac. Which model do you recommend and why?

I currently own a MacBook Pro 13 inch model (late-2011)
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
I'm an architecture student in my last semester, looking forward to buying a desktop Mac (for current and future use as a professional).
Sadly, for us architects we are limited with some mayor Architecture Programs such as 3Ds Max & Revit (both of which I use frecuently and have to use in a PC )
I have tried runing them in Parallels (in my MacBook Pro), but the result is slow and sluggish... so I plan on purchasing a new desktop computer as I believe these have more capacity to run this programs.
I would like to avoid using Boot Camp (hate having to restart the computer frequently) so if a Mac with be it Parallels/VMWare Fusion/CrossOver can do the job EFFICENTLY I would be happy.
So, which Mac model do you recommend for this case?
I'm undecided and would like some advice from you guys.
I'm not so limited on budget, but of course low cost would be appreciated.
If you could give some specific specs as RAM, Processor model, etc. that would help me more.
Im guessing the Power Mac is the best one...but just checking other opinions and answers.

Why not if you are going to run Windows pick up a PC with what you need?
The new mac pro 2013 won't be out for couple months and figure more time for software, even Fusion etc to catch up.
A VM is never going to be the same as running directly on the hardware natively.
The new Mac Pro though should be able to handle what you throw at it but even support for Windows could take time.
And looking at a new Mac operating system 10.9 Maverick. Windows 8.1 in same time frame.
If you do use a VM, install Windows natively to begin with and then attach the VM to point to it. There are times you need or want to run or apply updates natively.
The Mac has never had support for multiple high end graphic cards, no support for SLI and CrossFire-X, no 8-pin power connectors, if your software needs.
Mac Pro 2013 product page - new design and up to 12-cores and FirePro (2) GPU if you want to burn a pile of $$s.

There is no place to check when the next update will be forthcoming.
You can also check to see if one has been released by depressing the 'check for update' button on the Info page of iTunes.
It will tell you if you are up-to-date with the updates.
Do not confuse the wording in the description under the subject Version. The date in the description is merely the next time that iTunes will automatically check for an update. You can check manually for an update whenever you desire.
