Looking MAC friendly camcorder. Any idea????

Hi folks...i'm looking for a camcorder and i'm having problems trying to find one that does a good job and is MAC friendly.
Any advice?

We use the Panasonic NV-GS70 which is a 3CCD camera. It films great! With 3 sensors to capture the image the quality is very good. We have used it with 4 different Macs with no problems (iMac G4-17, PB G4-12, iMac G5-20 and PM Dual 2.3-20).
Read some of the reviews online for further info, but it has good write-ups from users and magazines. The Panasonic 3CCD range is a good place to start, if not the cheapest due to the technology involved.

PS: Sony 3CCD cameras were over a $1000 more and semi-pro (giant size) only when we bought our camera!

If you want to sync your information across multiple devices and computers, you should use one or more of these methods. It looks like the developer's of that app, or Apple, have got the wrong search name for it in the store - you could try contacting the developer and pointing it out to them so that they can get it corrected. Currently it looks like you can only find the app either by using the link (as you've included in your post), or by searching for the developer's name (Page Foundry Inc) in the store.
For searching the store, when you search for something then the first result(s) should be those whose title matches what you searched for - so if you search for 'ebook reader' then as there is an app with that exact name it will be first in the results, other apps will then be listed after it.

Where are you trying to get Flash Player from? Downloading is different from installing but many malicious websites offer to supply Flash Player as a means of installing malicious software and gathering personal information (e.g., passwords). You should get Adobe Flash only from Adobe and this link lets you download the full installer (Mac OS X (Intel) DMG) and run it locally. At that point OS X will ask for your password and if you've been using it successfully for other purposes (e.g., changing some items in System Preferences), it should work there too. Just download, install, and activate using your serial number. You are allowed to have the software installed and activated on two machines. If you do not wish to retain the original installation as a backup you can deactivate it by opening one of the programs and choosing Help -> Deactivate.

If you would like a more direct link you will need to name the software and the version.
If you need your serial number you should be able to find it in your Adobe account online if you registered the software when you first installed it.

Stick the 10.5 or 10.6 install disk into the computer and reboot holding c key down, under the Utilities menu is a password reset.
If your on 10.7, hold command r keys and reboot, access Terminal and type
resetpassword
and press enter.
So easy to crack a Lion Mac now.

Multiple external drives failed on Mac Pro. Any idea why?

This is the third drive that has failed since I was assigned this Mac Pro at work a few weeks ago, and the drive was purchased less than a week ago. The other two were older drives.
They would suddenly stop being readable. Sometimes there was a problem ejecting the drive before it stopped becomeing readable (message would say the drive couldn't be ejected because another program is using it, when there were no programs open). One of them eventually mounted again and I recovered some of the files (but some files weren't readable when I tried to copy them). But that was just luck as they all seem now to be consistently unreadable. When I plug them in I get the message: "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer"... same if I plug it into a different computer.

Any idea what would cause this? When it happed to the second drive, I just thought it was a fluke... but now a third, brand new drive? Something about the computer must be causing it.

So we're talking different vendors, different enclosures -- but likely the same bus, possibly even the same port, and different hosts (Mac Pro and MacBook).
Very difficult to say at this point, because two different computers are actually involved and you're not sure how and which is involved. The problem does sound like a hardware issue -- but, if it is, is it the FW controller on the MBP or on the MP? I can't tell.
Your pic shows DU can't fix the drive, but can it re-format the drive? (If the drive is FW/USB hybrid, try USB if FW doesn't work.) If yes, the error might be hardware or software; if no, the problem is likely hardware.
Although it's difficult, you must keep track of what drive is connected to what machine and on which port, otherwise you'll only fix this by being lucky. Also, check if you have on either Mac software which might interfere with disk writing. Of course, I assume you always eject the ext'l drives properly before you disconnect them physically.

The iOS simulator runs very slow on my new Mac mini. Any ideas on how to speed it up?

I am trying to demonstrate a new iPhone app using the Mac mini and the iOS Simulator software. It runs, but it runs very slowly -- not acceptable for a presentation. Any ideas so I can make it run faster?

My mac doesn't recognize my new Canon Vixia HF R600 camcorder, any ideas why?

I just purchased a Canon Vixia HF R600 camcorder. I'm trying to transfer the video files (recorded in MP4 format) to my iMac (OS X Lion 10.7.5) with the USB cable that came with my camera. After connecting and powering on my camera, I see the words "USB connection" on my camcorder screen, but absolutely nothing on my iMac. With my old camcorder, it would show up as an external device on my desktop/in finder and I could transfer files to my mac and then view them either with Quicktime or import into iMovie. But my computer doesn't seem to know that anything new is connected. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Actually iMovie 10 requires Mac OS 10.9 or 10.10. if you update the OS you can download iMovie 10 for free and iMovie 9 will still be available to use. iMovie 10 is a big change from iMovie 9 and some capabilities have been removed.
I am nevertheless a little surprised that when you connect your camera via USB that it does not appear as an external drive on your Mac (check in the Finder for a volume probably called "Untitled"). I assume you have read the info that came with your camera that might well include how to connect to a Mac.

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:

Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that this Internet criminal has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

After connecting my MBP to a projector, my display screen looks different...any ideas on how to fix?

I used my MBP today at work to present a PowerPoint presentation using the projector my office has. I have no idea what the brand of the projector is -- but now the appearance of all of my programs and desktop is different.
The sizing is not what it was set to, and swiping larger or smaller does nothing to fix it.
The font looks different, bolder, messier.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or why it changed after being connected to another device?

I've recently changed my last name and although I've created an alias (now @icloud.com sadly instead of @mac or @me!) I can't figure out how to change my name so that the 'sender' name reflects my name change. Any help gratefully received! Just one of the many tasks I need to complete to change my name and not off to a good start!
