Looking to adjust page and lettering size into mm

Hi all,
I've currently got some font in which I would like to adjust to the real size so that I can se measurements of each letter etc before I cut the lettering out in vinyl.
I would like to adjust the page size too 1800mm in width and 600mm in length.
I would also like to adjust the lettering too 1750 in width and then the same proportion in length.
How do I do this please.

Actually, you can do both of those things quite simply.
Firstly, your page size can be set in the Document Setup option from the file menu, and simply type the numbers and the measurement units in the field: 1800mm
If you want to set all of your documents to use mm natively, simply have InDesign launched with no open documents, and go to the preferences. From there, choose Units.
For the type, simply add mm after the numbers in the size field. InDesign will automatically convert them to points. You can convert to outlines when you're ready to send the file.

If you're downloading Pages from the iTunes App Store you're not getting the Mac version, just the iOS version for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch. They are two separate applications for two different operating systems. To get Pages for your Mac you need to go to the Mac App Store. Either click the icon in the Dock or click on the Apple icon at the top left of your screen & choose App Store.

Exported PDF looks beautiful in Pages and Preview not in Acrobat Reader

Hi, I need a little help. I created an eBrochure in Pages which looks beautiful. When I export it to PDF, it looks amazing in Preview but not in Adobe Acrobat Reader; pictures doesn't look so bright and shiny, they loom more opaque. Also fonts look kind of weird. I went to Photoshop and tried to do it there, it looks better in Acrobat Reader but texts don't print as nice as the Pages one (photos do). So my problem I guess is with the photos on Pages... What can I do to ensure that my document created in Pages and exported to PDF can have the same quality in the Reader as it has in Preview?
Photos are in JPEG format and have a decent resolution I guess:
File Size 1.4 MB
With: 1200 pixels
Height: 1800 pixels
Resolution: 300 pixels/ inch
Pixel Dimensions: 6.18M
Pages computer is a MBA, 1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.5.7, Pages '09 4.0.2

As far as I know, there is no provision for such settings in these programs.
Developer documentation for ICC colour management in Firefox 2, Firefox 3 and Firefox 3.5, see below. Firefox 3 has ICC colour management disabled by default. Firefox 3.5 has ICC colour management for images within which there is embedded an ICC source colour space profile. It is possible to set Firefox to colour manage the application windows as well as images with embedded ICC profiles. The developer documentation discusses how to do this in what sounds suspiciously like a command line / terminal tool, and also how to point Firefox 3.5 to the display profile. This in turn sounds suspiciously like Firefox 3.5 is unable to talk to the system level service and ask for the display profile automatically.
Camino and Opera ... I'll pass. I suspect it's more of the same mess.

Assuming that your computer has ample CPU, memory,and storage, how many pages and what file size does Adobe recommend that you limit a single PDF to using Acrobat Pro XI in order to avoid any issues.

I don't know whether there's a limit on number of pictures you can add to a book
as long as they are contained in 100 pages, which is the maximum photo pages on a book.

Pages and letters with addresses

I'm sorry I can't find how to add names form the address book into a pages document. If this isn't built in "it is seriously missing" if it is I can't find it. I could go on but I know the device (iPad) is limited in power and memory. It just keeps getting better too. But for me it's all about efficient productivity, and it just seems obvious that the address book is there to help prevent needing to add things that are already there.

This post has been running since 2012 so it refers to a bunch of different versions with different solutions. I had documents on my phone that were not showing up on icloud.com or pages on my mac.
Here is what worked for me running OSX 10.8.4 on my mac and and ios 6.1.4 on my phone.
On my phone:
I checked settings > icloud > documents and data. This was on.
I checked setting > pages > use icloud. This was on.
On my mac:
I checked system preferences > icloud > documents and data. This was checked.
On icloud.com I tried to find settings but couldn't.
Finally I powered off my iphone (hold home and power button on top simultaneously) and restarted my iphone and opened pages and everything began syncing. I hope this helps some.

Creating a table in the application pages and pasting it into iWeb 08

I have learned today that if you create a table in pages and then copy and paste it into iWeb 08 it uses the the ORIGINAL entry in the upper left cell as the name of the png file that is created as the image for the iWeb folder.
If that ORIGINAL name had a space in the name the resulting server can probably not link successfully the data in that png file.
Solution: When you FIRST create the table in the application pages that you plan to copy into iWeb use a single word in that upper left cell -- you can change the content later but the "pasted" file will be that word.png.

I use the class cl_xml_document to create XML documents.
It has all the methods required to create XML documents...perfectly. It is fairly straightforward when you get into it...and you can produce very good xml files.

whilst this is not full blown XML example it may give some ideas or possibly the format generated maybe be enough for your needs. This is a simple test example of converting an ITAB into an xml type file and then it was sent to a server

You can use other methods, additional to what this example shows, to create a true XML file. You need more coding - but the above example is just a 'quick and dirty' half waay house to get you moving along in one possible direction. I actually preferred using the class than transformations.

Why does Verizon find the need to change the look of web pages and divert you to other pages?

Why is it that verizon can't leave well enough alone! It seems everytime I log in I can't, because verizon wants me to go to another page or change my info, I just want my email, I don't want to learn about new products and new offers, If there is a time I feel te need, I will come looking, don't shove it down my throat! Another big problem is when they force you to change something before they will let you accesss your email, reminds me of a trick the Russians pull! (If you know what I mean!) If I wanted my page to look like microsofts page ,I would have their service. If you feel the need to change so often, maybe you are in the wrong business!

It can be annoying, but I think their motivation is good. They are trying to make things better for their customers and I think they have, even though sometimes it is annoying. I think it would be nice if they would advise us when the pages are going to be down for maintenance, In the mean time, you could have another E mail account so you can always get access to your E mail.

I have just switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox. I find the font and image size too small on Firefox. Can I increase it permanently to default to larger, easier to read size?
I tried the zoom under style but I would need to use it every time I go to a new page which is not convenient.

Adjust Page Information Text Size

Hi,
I am new to this forum and hope that somebody may know how to help.
I have searched and not been able to find my specific problem.
I hope this is the right area for this problem.
I currently create seperations for screen printing in Illustrator CS2,
I then save them to PDF to be printed on our RIP.
My problem is that when I add page and file information in the PDF save
dialog box and RIP it to film, the page information is too small.
I was wondering if there is a script or action that can be applied either
to Illustrator or to the PDF save box that will allow me customise the text size and possibly other options when saving as PDF.

Is there a way to take my address's I typed into Pages and get them into my address book?

I have over 200 address's typed into pages. Is there a way to get them into my address book with out copying a pasting each one individually??

Address Book can import contact information that you save or export from other applications in vCard, LDAP Interchange Format (LDIF), tab-delimited, and comma-separated value (CSV) formats.
You can export addresses in vCard format from Entourage, Outlook, and others, and in LDIF format from Thunderbird, for example. You can export text files in tab-delimited or CSV format from spreadsheet applications, such as Numbers.

Issues with new version of Pages and minimizing size of screen

Is there a way to make the pages window smaller? I usually have multiple windows open when making school notes and the new version of pages only lets me decrease the size of the window to a certain limit which is very frustrating!

Checked with Pages 5.2 and that still exists.
You can Open/Close the Format sidebar but unfortunately you need it most of the time and it is attached to every single document.

Pages '08/'09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

I'm unable to print or save pdf documents without losing text. Margins are not maintained page to page and text size might not be maintained either.

Printing within Firefox is untenable. I lose text at page break or a right margin. This happens when printing or saving as "pdf" file. Everything works fine in Safari.

You are getting such output because you have checked ON the setting 'Print to file' in one of your previous prints. For resolving this issue, kindly uncheck option 'Print to file' present in bottom left corner of print dialog and then click on 'Print' (See attached image for reference).
