Looking to create a scroll bar within a section of a webpage

I think the best example of this is in the iTunes store i.e. you have a section of say, music, and you scroll left to right to see more.
I'd appreciate any help with this, whether it be the proper coding techniques or pointing me in the right direction.
Thanks!

Muse does not currently provide this functionality, so it will require a bit of hand coding.

    Hey Ananya,
    I believe what you want to do is possible, but it will not be
    easy.  If you want to add a scroll bar that will scroll the graph
    back and forth but keep the axis set, you would want to add a
    horizontal or vertical scrollbar.  Then you would create an event
    handler for the scroll event.  You would have to manually plot
    different data within this scroll event.  Unfortunately, there is
    not really a built in way to do this with the Measurement Studio plot
    control.

  • How to add scroll bar within af:showDetail

    I have added a af:panelGroupLayout to af:showDetail, and set the "layout" property of the panel group layout out to "scroll". However, the scroll bar still does not show up within af:showDetail. If I set the height for the panel group layout within af:showDetail, then the scroll bar shows. But then it will not stretch vertically upon stretching the dialog vertically. Is it possible to add scroll bar within af:showDetail?
    Here's a sample code which I tried -
    <*af:panelStretchLayout* id="psl1">
    <f:facet name="center">
    <*af:showDetail* disclosed="false" id="sd1" disclosedText="Metadata"
    undisclosedText="Metadata">

    layout="*scroll*">

    </af:panelStretchLayout>

    Yes, you can try panelStretchLayout as well.
    Copy following fragment into an empty <af:document> to see the difference.

  • How to create 2 scroll bar in 2 canvas

    Hello All,
    I will appreciate if somebody knows how to create 2 scroll bars in 2 Content canvases and all items text item belongs to one data block.
    In data block property it shows only one scroll bar. Their is no property of scroll bar in canvas.
    Regards,
    Atif

    Go to the layout editor.
    Take the Stacked canvas tool in the toolbox
    draw a stacked canvas on the content canvas (the stacked can could be larger than the content one)
    edit you item properties to display on the content canvas
    adjust the window to the same width and weight properties than the content canvas.
    The simplest way it to use the datablock wizard to create the data block, then indicate to show items not on the content canvas but the stacked canvas.

    My company just recently upgraded from Adobe Robohelp version 8 to version 10. We are beginners in learning this product, while receiving very minimal help from Adobe support.

  • Scroll bar within e-mails

    Dear all,
    I'm working with e-mail activities in SAP CRM 7.1.3. Can anybody help with the problem described below?
    Within e-mail activity screen, the section related to body has a certain height and in case a long e-mail is written, a scroll bar is used for readying the e-mail content.
    Let's assume we are reading the all e-mail, scrolling down the bar, and then we decide to update a business partner in the activity header, based on info described in the body (e.g. in the signature). By standard, as soon as we click on F4 help for field contact person in the header (i.e. to trigger the popup for partner search), the system automatically resets the scrollbar in the body to the top, therefore we have no longer visibility on the bottom part of the e-mail (also considering the fact that until the popup is open, we can't scroll down anymore).
    I'd like to adjust the code in order to prevent such automatic scrolling up of the bar, but I've not been able to identify the point of intervention, yet.
    Does anyboby have experience with this?
    I'll reward points in case you can help!
    Thanks and Regards,
    Andrea Ricci

    Ok what I have is a site I am building for school.  I have some textfields loaded from a outside file.  Some of the fields have more text then will show in the size of the box, and you can sroll it down to read it all but unless you try to scroll there is really now way to tell you can do it just buy looking at the text box.  So I want to add a scroll bar and we have not covered that in class.
    Note everything has to be added using AS3 we can have no content on the timeline.  I have look to try to find something so show me how to dod this but all I can find are videos on doing it using the stage and adding items to it.

    Can you make it a little more plane please.  I am working on so much other sruff along with this I am drawing a blank.  I tried a couple things but get this arroa code.

  • Scroll bars within tables in dreamweaver cs4

    please assist am trying to create scroll bars for content to be placed inside a table, the content i have is to long for page lenght, am using dreamweaver CS4

    hi, osgood, thank for reply, i am novice and sorry but i still am not clear on what you mean, could you please explain in detail how to go about doing these scroll bars, greatly apprciate your time. :-/
    Hummm........ not sure how much clearer I can explain it to be honest.
    In your page where you need the scroll area to appear insert your mouse cursor.
    Then switch to code view. You should see your cursor flashing between two <td> | </td> tags, (the table cell)
    Where the cursor is flashing type in:
    <div id="scroller"></div>
    Then insert all the content that you need to scroll into the 'scroller' <div>
    <div id="scroller">Your scrolling content to be inserted here</div>
    Next copy the css below and paste it into the head section of your page directly before the closing </head> tag near the top of our page.
    <style type="text/css">
    #scroller {
    width: 300px;
    height: 200px;
    overflow: auto;
    </style>
    Change the width and height to whatever suits your needs.

  • Scroll bar within table

    I have a table within my webpage and I'd like to place

    Hi -
    Here is an article aimed at this subject:
    http://www.avenuedesigners.com/blog/articles.php?ref=20
    You can place the bit of code explained in the article inside
    a table cell
    if you wish. <div>'s CAN be nested inside tables, BTW.
    HTH, take care.

  • Text editing window expands instead of creating vertical scroll bar

    In the last few days, I have noticed that when I try to edit or post to Wordpress.com the vertical scroll bar no longer appears on the text editing box. Instead the box just gets progressively larger which makes it very difficult to get to other items on the WordPress editing screen, such as tags and categories. This problem seems to have arisen during the v31.0 auto-upgrade. Is anybody else having this issue and what steps can I take to solve it? (FYI, I tried modifying the setting described in another response about a similar issue using the about:config screen, with no success.)

    I don't know whether your dashboard has the "Visual" and "Text" buttons, but I believe the Visual uses CKEditor or another WYSIWYG editor and the Text editor might be a simpler design. Are both affected?
    I searched around to see whether I could find Wordpress.com support threads or other stories about it and I can't. So I'll fall back on some general suggestions:
    When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
    Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
    Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
    "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
    On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
    If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * (menu bar) Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    In the dialog that opens, you can remove WordPress.com cookies without affecting other sites.
    Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
    To rule out extensions as a possible culprit, could you try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions, some advanced features, and some custom settings. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
    You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    Note: Flash and other plugins still run
    After Firefox closes, a small dialog should appear: click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
    Any difference?

  • Multi Select Listbox - Horiz Scroll Bar available?

    I'm using the Standard - Multi Select Listbox and would like to see a horizontal scroll bar on it down at the bottom when the contents are too long to display in their entirety (and many of my items in the list start off the same with the distinguishing text at the end of the line).
    What's puzzling is that in the JSC IDE Design Tab, when I set some of the Default items to a long string, the control is shown on the Design Tab WITH a bottom, horizonal scroll bar! I was so hopeful! But when deployed the vertical scroll bar is there, but the Horiz scroll bar is gone :-(
    Has anyone gotten a horizontal scroll on a Multi Select Listbox to work in Creator??
    Suggestion to Creator Team: Please add a horizontal scroll bar OR at least allow a cursor on items in the list so that the user can manually move thru the line to see what it says.
    Thanks!

    Please help -
    These work arounds don't work for me. I'm using the latest Creator2 with all updates applied. Any chance of seeing a property for this soon?
    Work around 1:
    ===========================
    <div style="height: 72px; left: 144px; top: 192px; position: absolute; width: 288px; overflow: auto;">
    <ui:listbox binding="#{weblinkpl_page1.listbox1}" id="listbox1" items="#{SessionBean1.listOptions}"
    onChange="common_timeoutSubmitForm(this.form, 'tabSet1:weblink_tab2:layoutPanel2:listbox1');"/>
    </div>
    => Gives me listbox with no width at top left corner of page. Populating with very long file, changes the width of the box rather than creating a scroll bar.
    Work around 2:
    ======================
    <div style="overflow: auto;">
    <ui:listbox binding="#{weblinkpl_page1.listbox1}" id="listbox1" items="#{SessionBean1.listOptions}"
    onChange="common_timeoutSubmitForm(this.form, 'tabSet1:weblink_tab2:layoutPanel2:listbox1'); style="height: 72px; left: 144px; top: 192px; position: absolute; width: 288px; "/>
    </div>
    => Gives me good looking listbox but long filenames get truncated in display. No horizontal scroll bar.

    Hello,

    I read this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4627659/flex-4-scroller-skin, but I didn't understand what should I do exactely !
    should I create my scroll bar manually to be able to make a scroll ?
    Please I need a solution
    Anyone !

    see an example in action:
    http://trumpboston.com/helpothers/example03521/scroll.html
    it came from this example source code:
    http://blog.flexexamples.com/2010/11/03/adding-scroll-bars-to-an-spark-application-contain er-in-flex-4/
    the first module make it be your application mxml
    the second one, under your src directory, create a "skins" folder and save in there the file:
    skins/CustomScrollingApplicationSkin.mxml
    notice the slider on the top that will increase the height of your content to show the scrollbar jumping around in its height.

  • Scroll bar on legend for xy graph

    Is there a way to create a scroll bar for the legend of an XY graph?  The number of entries in the legend will be changing programmatically so the legend needs to be able to grow dynamically (which I have figured out how to do using property nodes).  Any ideas?

    Ultimately I will have 6 xy graphs in my vi, I would like to have a seperate scroll bar for the legend of each graph.  Each graphs legend will both grow and shrink as the program runs and I would like to use the scroll bar to keep the legend from growing off of the screen.  I would like to be able to dislpay the data from the point (6 m/s for example) along with its symbol on the xy graph (red dot for example) in the legend.  If I am umderstanding you correctly I need to bundle the type and color of the plot into a cluster with the data and then link that cluster to the scroll bar, I assume I can read the property node for each data point (setting it to active plot first) for both plot style and color?  Let me know if I am thinking about this correctly or if I have misinterpreted what you are saying.  Thank you very much for your help!
