Looking up website on internet

I just created my new website that begins with web.mac.com...but whenever I go to type the address in my web bar, it says the page cannot be found. It shows up on iweb but it also said when I published it that anyone could view it...no one is able to look it up yet. How do I view the webpage by just typing in the website like apple said would work.

Hi Joe - Welcome to the discussions. Apple says: To visit your start site, enter this URL in a web browser:
http://web.mac.com/[YourMemberName]
Note: Don't type the brackets around "YourMemberName."
...Perhaps you used "joemarci" instead of "YourMemberName"?
Were there any publishing errors?

  • Website looks messed up in internet explorer....

    I created a website for my volunteer fire company with Dreamweaver 8 on my Mac.  The site looked fine when I reviewed it with Firefox and Safari so I uploaded it.  Then I started to get phone calls that it was fouled up looking.  When others looked at it using Internet Explorer on there PC's the background images in the tables became offset and in some cases started to repeat.  Is there an issue between Mac and internet Explorer or between Dreamweaver 8 and Internet Explorer.  The site is www.goodwillhose.com if you want to take a look.  Please, any help would be appreciated.

    Is it possible to "no-repeat" the background image in a table?
    Yes, with CSS or inline CSS styling like so:
    <table style="width: 1000px; border: 2px solid silver; background: red url(your-image.png) no-repeat top center" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5">
    <tr>
    <td> </td>
    <td> </td>
    <td> </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    Your code is invalid, owing to your use of deprecated table height values and HTML syntax with an XHTML document type.
    Use the on-line code validation tool here:
    HTML Validator - http://validator.w3.org
    You might want to study this tutorial.  It was written with DW8 in mind, but the basics are still the same.

    If your site visitors use pre-IE7 browsers, your transparent PNG images have a light blue cast to them. Do a Google search for IE PNG Fix.

    Is there any other solutions that will fix my camera for facetime and iphoto?

  • Preview Website In Internet

    So When i want to view my website in internet mode, when i click on the navigation bar to go to other pages, sometimes it doesn't work because it adds "sample" to the link when it should be.  /about.html.  In the code, it has no word sample in it. and when sample is added to the html it dosent work.

    Well, since this is a forum site, you should see the question. I am asking why when i click on my navigation tools, it sometimes dose not take me to the right page because it puts "sample" infront of the html.

  • Looking to get Verizon Internet

    Looking to get Verizon internet. I have fios lines but the service is not available, called in a few times for the last few months and keep getting told I have to wait for engineering to figure out what's up. Anyone here know something I can do to speed things along?

    Homefusion comes with antenna that is mounted OUTSIDE of your dwelling. That why they send someone out to install it. It also comes with the router. You're thinking of Share Everything data only plans. Where you pay $20 for the mi-fi and then pay extra on the data pending how much you want.  Share Everything with a mi-fi and 10 GB would be $80 a month when you can get Homefusion for $60 for the same 10 GB. An considering the antenna is more power and outside you're a lot more likely to get reception with Homefusion. In either case it should be noted you'll need to pass a credit check and sign a two year contract.

  • Learning by Looking at Websites.

    For learning, Murray has suggested, among other things,
    looking at websites
    and their code. If I go to a site and "view source," I can
    see the HTML.
    Is there any way to see the CSS??

    I've downloaded quicktime but every time I try to play a video on the apple website using internet explorer it asks me to download quicktime again yet if I'm safari it plays fine. Any suggestions?

    That sounds like IE wants you to install the QuickTime ActiveX control.
    Go back to the page you're getting the message on. At the bottom of the screen, can you see a long rectangular box asking you to allow/install something? (Sorry, it's been a while since I've seen the box in question, so I can't recall the precise wording.)
    If so, allow/OK in that box. After the ActiveX control has gone in, can you see the videos in IE?

  • How do i check what has been looked at on the internet

    Sorry to bother you all again, but i have another question! My 14 year old son has been looking at naughty websites. he say's he has stopped but is there anyway i can check what he has been looking at previously on the internet. I know when using a PC you can look at previous internet history in control manager. Does Mac have the same sort of application. I only realised he was doing this because one of the 'naughty' movies downloaded onto the desktop. but can i check history on QuickTime, and generally the computers history.
    Thanks

    zedzed,
    Here's another thought.
    Navigate to HD > Users > Library > Safari: Make a duplicate of History.plist.
    To duplicate the file, click once to highlight it. Press the Command + D keys.
    Drag the History,plist copy file to the Desktop.
    Highlight it. Press the Command + I keys, to get info.
    Change Open With to TextEdit.
    When you open the file in TextEdit, it will be difficult to read, but you will be able to pick out some sites.

  • Can't open website in Internet Explorer

    So I have this website I created in Dreamweaver and Flash. I uploaded it using FileZilla, everything's perfect I just can't seem to open it in PC's. When I try it in my Mac it works perfectly on Firefox or Safari, but on PC's Internet Explorer simply won't operate the flash buttons. I mean, one can see the page but you can't navigate through it like in a Safari or Firefox browser. This is the website, it's a medical center. Hope you guys can help me out. Peace. www.imaxtampico.com

    No real reason for using Flash buttons, just simple aesthetics. Want it to look nice, and I think Flash buttons add a good touch for doing so. Basically I just want to do cool buttons, that's why I do them in Flash. I've tried in Dreamweaver but I just can't seem to manage to do them the way I like them... any suggestions? Thanks again.

  • Firefox will not open, it ask if I want to send a crash report. All the questions I have read on this matter have not worked. I can open your website through internet explorer. What can I do?

    /* ~~ These are the columns for the layout. ~~
    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the right instead of the left, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all right instead of all left) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

    You need to go through your <ul> and <li> tags very, very carefully.  You have some mismatched elements (missing closing tags) in your huge list.
    Here:
    <p>
         <!-- end .content -->
         <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="EditRegion4" --><!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
       <p> </p>
    You have missed a closing </p> tag
    These input elements need closing like this
    <input name="allcountry" value="ALLROMANIA" type="hidden" />
    You may have too many closing </div> tags at the end of your page.
    Check your site in the validator: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.canonguy.net%2FKehilaLinktest %2F
    Fix the problems you can and then revalidate it to see how you are getting on.
