Lookout 5: Error 1921 Service LkTimeSync during installation
Working under W2000 workstation with virus scanner Ontrack: I have disabled all items (but not uninstalled it). I get "Service LkTimeSync could not be stopped. Verify privileges..." while in administrator mode. Everything else loads correctly.
Any idea of what the problem is?

I now have 2 problems: one with my development machine (portable Acer) and one with the target (floor shop: W2000, standard PC).
1) Acer under W2000: I renamed the Lookout 3.8 dir "OLD Lookout" and tried to install Lookout 5 (with Ontrack disabled) then got that 1921 error. I have a number of startup programs among which: Acrobat, HotkeyApp (to grab windows), Notebook manager, Net-It Launcher (Nat Inst), LoadQM, QuickTime Task, Fix-It Av (Ontrack). I don't have too many services but Interbase Guardian and ZipToA (? Zip drive) are also running. I will try to stop most of the services and install again.
2) Shop PC: I also renamed Lookout 3.8 as OLD Lookout and installed Lookout 5. It did install correctly even with the Norton antivirus enabled. But th
e Lookout 3.8 would no longer execute.
So, I uninstalled Lookout 5 (but a number of files and registers are not removed by the MS uninstall... as always) and tried to re-install 3.8: nothing would work. I removed Norton, tried install 3.8 again but failed again to execute. I mean "nothing happens when double-clicking on the icon). The following message shows at the end of install: "Element 'program' to which this shortcut refers has been modified or has been replaced and it no longer functions correctly"... In fact, the Lookout icon dosn't show up on the module.
I would like to have the shop machine re-execute 3.8 until I'm done with the newer 5 version: fortunately I have a few days to settle the problem.

Error with PSAPI.DLL during installation of SOA Suite

During installation, when progress bar is 99%, the installer send the message "javaw.exe: The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.dll". The installation continues and it seems that finish correctly.
When i try to register the Integration server form JDev the BPEL Identity Service send the error "java.net.ConnectException:Connection refused: connect"; just like the problem in Thread: Issue Registering ESB app from JDev (Issue Registering ESB app from JDev

Thanks for your post. The file is already located in C:\windows\system32. When the installer send me the message i checked with Process Explorer and the version that the installer use is the one located in the temp directory of the installer.

Error 1921 and adobe XI installation
On a Toshiba Laptop the retail installation locked up during the "Stopping Windows Search" and I received error code 1921.
Here is what I did to fix it:
1 Uninstall adobe reader, that was currently installed on the machine.
2 Open task manager, and kill the program "windows media player network service"
This allowed the WindowSearch program to be stopped.
I then re-ran installation. Might be just my laptop, but I thought I would share.Hi atlanta-user,

Error while starting OMS during installation of Enterprise Manager12c

I am trying to install Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c(64bit) on OEL5.2(64bit), but after successfully going through all
the per-requisites of the installation; the installation fails at 89% "Start Oracle Management Service" phase and
at "Agent Configuration Assistant" phase.
Error is "Error Starting server EMGC_OMS1: weblogic.nodemanager.NMException: Exception while starting server 'EMGC_OMS1'"
Tried to resolve the certificate issue in the log following the MOS [ID 1320530.1] - Ignoring the trusted CA certificate warnings when connecting to Node Manager using WLST nmConnect() but the command keytool failed with java exception.

Did more digging abt the issue and finally got the OMS server to actually start even after the certificate issue but after that when the script tries to access login page it gets a 404 error and stops the OMS server.
I guess raising an SR is my only way out.....

I am trying to install SM 4.0 SR1 on Windows 2003 server with MS-SQL 2005.
During UME configuration it throws an error saying MAC_ADDRESS Not found. Please see the complete log details from unconfigurator.log
Tried removing DNS suffix, etc but never works. Please help have to get this done asap.

Configuration of EPM 11.1.2 Shared Services issue during installation
Hi,
I am running into issue with configuration of Shared Services after installing EPM 11.1.2 on my machine. I am running the installation on Windows 8 and 64 Bit. All of the components that I wanted installed successfully. After that I went into the Configuration for Shared Services, I ran into the issue with the status of Deploy Application to Server not completed successfully (configuring...). I was hoping to configure one thing at a time as suggested in the blogs.... then I'd configure Essbase and not Financial Reporting...in that sequence. Thus, I also do not see any of the services installed under Foundation Services; Shared Services URL, Start EPM nor Start FoundationServices (Oracle Weblogic 10) tmplink.
I've tried to search online but found nothing specific on the issue. Am I missing something? Please help.

I try to update the Creative Cloud Desktop Version. At 44% download or progress
I receive the error code 50 all the time.
Had the same problem at the initial installation. After 2 day trying (and what ever) I was able to install.
Quite disturbing the whole topic.

I am installing Oracle 8.1.6 on RedHat 6.2. 80% through the installation I get the error "Error in writing to file /u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6/lib/libagtsh.so.1.0". I skip the installation of this component and later get the message "Error in invoking target install of makefile /u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6/otrace/lib/ins_otrace.mk".

Have you checked the obvious with the OS? Disk space, file permissions etc. because the first message may be all you need worry about.

Following error was observed during publishing topology while installing LYNC server 2010.
Error: An error occurred: "Microsoft.Rtc.Common.Data.SqlConnectionException" "Cannot open database "xds" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'LYNC5\Administrator'."Make sure you account has the relevant permissions and that you have run the topology builder as an admin.
When you publish and install the databases for the first time you will need permissions to SQL, I usually use an account with SQL sysadmin rights.

I'm having the exact same problem.
Here's my situation: I downloaded iTunes a few years ago, never thinking I would get an iPod. It's version 4 or so. Now I just got an iPod and I needed to update to the newest iTunes because iTunes 4 wouldn't recognize the iPod. I try to install and it stops at "Stopping Services", then after a little while this error pops up:
"Error 1921.Service iPod Service (iPodService) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services."
I click Retry and it happens again. I click Cancel and it exits.
I tried to uninstall thru Control Panel, and the exact same thing happens: it stops at "Stopping Services" and the same error pops up.
I still have dial-up, and I have some songs that I haven't downloaded yet. I wonder if this has anything to do with it...
Please, if anyone can help, this is driving me nuts! Thanks. -
