LOOKOUT RUNNING IN VIRTUAL XP MODE ON WINDOWS 7

WE ARE RUNNING LOOKOUT 6.0.1 WITH DEVELOPMENTON ON A PC RUNNING WINDOWS XP.
WE GOT NEW COMPUTERS WITH WINDOWS 7. WE LOADED LOOKOUT ON THE COMPUTERS
UNDER THE VIRTUAL XP MODE. LOOKOUT RUNS FINE IN THIS MODE BUT I CAN'T RUN ANY OF
THE PROGRAMS DEVELOPED ON THE XP MACHINE. I CAN DEVELOPE ON THE VIRTUAL MODE
MACHINE AND RUN THE PROGRAMS EITHER PLACE.
CAN ANYONE HELP?

Do you get error box? What do you see when you run the program developed on xp?
What if you open the .lks file instead of .l4p file?
I don't think there is any difference between the .lks file developed on XP and the one developed on virtual xp.

Installing Acrobet diabled the Integration Features of the Virtual XP-Mode in Windows 7 Professional, 64 Bit. Does anyone know of a work around so the integration features can remain enabled in the Virtual XP-Mode? I now have Acrobat installed in the Virtual XP Mode and the Integration Features are enabled and working as intended. However, it is cumbersome to work in the XP Mode and then transfer the work to the reular mode.

There are patches available from Microsoft that remove the hardware virtualization requirement, you don't need anything from HP for it. You will find them in the XP Mode sections of the MS web site.
Keep in mind that XP Mode is for Win7 Professional and Ultimate, the Home and Home Premium versions do not support it.

Run form in debug mode with windows vista

when i need to run any form in debug mode i get the following

Hi Manoj,
You can do it directly from felix console. just go to http://<host>:<port>/system/console/slinglog there you will see all log files. under first table "Log Level" you will see all the log files and besides to that you will have configuration option, just go there and set log level for each of log files and save it.

Is my lightroom (4.4) really running in 64-bit mode?

I've always wondered why Lightroom doesn't seem to be using more memory, and now an Adobe article on Performance has me asking some questions.
First of all, I run Lightroom on a Windows 8 x64 machine running a Xeon processor w/ 24GB of RAM.
This article (http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/optimize-performance-lightroom.html) from Adobe on optimizing performance says:
"Run Lightroom in 64-bit mode (Lightroom 4 and 3)
If you run Lightroom in 64-bit mode, it has access to more than 2 GB of RAM, which is the ceiling for 32-bit operating systems. Giving Lightroom access to more than 4 GB of RAM can significantly improve performance.
Lightroom operates in 64-bit mode automatically if it is installed on a computer that is 64 bit capable and running a 64-bit OS. You can verify that it's running in 64-bit mode by doing the following:
Verify that Lightroom is running in 64-bit mode on Windows
Start Lightroom and look at the title bar of the application.
See if "x64" appears in the title. "
In my case, "x64" does NOT appear in the title. However, if I go to the System Info menu-item (from "Help"), it clearly shows my system is x64 (see below). So - Is the article wrong? Is LR4 not "sensing" x64 and not running properly?

that's OK. LR renders only the viewable part of the image when you open in develop.Speed depends on moitor size. An your size is very demanding for lr.
If you open multiple RAW images in the develop module by using the right arrow key and go back using left arrow, you should notice, that lr cache multiple images (3 or 4, I think).
You can open windows taskmanager (ctrl-alt-del) and find the lightroom process in the process tab. If there is no *32 extension to the name, lr is running in 64 bit mode. Also the used memory of lr is displayed.
I was able to require more than 2 GB ram when I had big export (to TIFF) and ran throu about 100 image in the develp mode - use viewing...

Why does Digital Edition not work in desktop mode for WIndows 8?

I have installed the most recent version of JAVA and then downloaded and installed Digital Editions. I can open Digital Editions in desktop mode but when I select a book I cannot turn the page or move to a new page by any means. The only thing that seems to work is to select a new page and then toggle between full screen and partial.

I don't think ADE uses Java at all.
I run it in desktop mode in WIndows 8 and it reads books and turns pages fine: either using the left-right arrow keys,
or clicking on the forward/back buttons each side of the scrollbar at the bottom of the page.
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0, and even though that isn't a bug for me it may be for you.
Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

HT1338 Has anyone successfully installed Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC software inside Windows 7 Pro inside Parallels 8 inside Mountain Lion running on a Mac Pro built in 2013?

I wanted to ask if anyone using a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion, Parallels 8, and Windows 7 Pro could run XP Mode?
My experience has not been encouraging in that I progress to the end of the final mile, that is configuring XP Mode for first use, then an error message appears saying I should try again, that is I should attempt to configure XP Mode again for the first time use. An endless loop, with no visibility into the nature of my configuration failure.
I understand my problem is a narrowly focused, microsoft-centric issue, however, I would imagine this XP behavioral Mode running inside Windows 7 Pro is a common goal for many users, so I thought this question was reasonable to ask our group.
Please advise, and thank you.

I wanted to let you know that your "requires a patch" feedback looked--at first--like the piece of the puzzle I was missing. Turned out, however, when I downloaded the 64 bit version of the patch, then attempted to install it under Windows 7 Pro, my installation was first searched, then my patch installation returned a message saying this patch was not applicable to my system. (BTW:my Windows 7 install is 64 bit) This failure to install surprised me because, based on an earlier evaluation for hardware virturalization support, my MacPro does not have virturalization hardware support. I mean, based on this no hardware support feedback, and based on the nature of this patch, it looked as if the patch should install and set my problem right.
Nevertheless, the patch won't install, and I don't know a way to query or coerce it. I'm approaching the point of diminishing returns with this problem. I have two applications (Adobe Illustrator 10 and Framemaker 7.0) which will run, but they don't behave properly, under Windows 7. BTW: I did make somewhat extensive use of the Windows compatibility tool early on, but nevertheless, FrameMaker 7 simply quits at the worst possible moment, and Illustrator 10 graphics are very often blank black areas where pallettes should be.
Thanks again for your thoughts and help. I believed we were heading down the right track, but for reasons not visible to me, (the user), the patch that should fix this problem will not install...
If there is any saving grace to this situation, my problem is repeatable. I mean, it's not on-again/off-again. When I attempt to configure XP Mode for its first use, the progress bar turns red at the final second, then complains that it could not complete its setup. Please Try Again recouts its final advice. (Famous words marking the beginning of an endless loop:-)
Were it not for Illustrator and FrameMaker, I would not have taken us down this dark road.

Will Let's Edit run on Windows XP mode in Windows 7?

I just purchsed an iMac and I want to load Windows 7 Professional onto it as well. We own the full version of Edius 5 but have not tried learning that program yet. I don't know if Edius 5 will run on Windows 7 but if I can still use Let's Edit I'll be in business for now. I read some information on running Windows XP mode on Windows 7 and I see that a special processer is needed in order to run this. Do you have any idea if my new iMac will support the Windows XP mode? Any help you can provide me will be extremely benefecial to me.
Also, where and how can i acquire the legacy OCHI firewire driver for my video card? As i mentioned, this will be on a new model iMac so will I still need this driver to be installed seperately? Why is it that the default driver installed by Windows 7 will not allow me to capture or output video?
What I am trying to ultimately avoid at this point is having to load an outdated Windows XP OS onto my brand new iMac that utilizes 64 bit hardware and software. I will greatly appreciate any further help you can provide me.

Some basics.
VMs are virtual machines. They run inside or under or side by side (same thing, just what people call it) and your Mac will run Windows and this application just peachy - perfect for anything except games.
Running Windows as Windows is also called running Windows natively (directly on the hardware, versus running in one of those VMs), is also called a dual boot: boot Mac OS -- or you boot Windows.
VMware Fusion: Install Windows via Boot CAmp (native, on its own hardware), but / and, you can also then use Fusion (which is a VM) inside Mac OS when you want; or, you can boot and run Windows natively.
XP Mode requires hardware virtualization to be enabled in the system board bios (that is EFI or actually UEFI, that Macs use). On a PC you have to enable it in BIOS as it is off by default usually.
It 'should' be enabled. Separate from 64-bit hardware. And separate from your UEFI firmware which is also 64-bit. But the Mac Pro found itself with VT-d off after an Apple Security Update. Go figure.
XP Mode is really just hardware VM. And using Sun (now Oracle) VirtualBox VM (free) is easy.
A VM just does not benefit from 64-bit, unless you need to allocate say 4-6GB RAM in your VM, and your app definitely does not.
Pro version is what MS sells or offers to education institutions.
Is needed for more backup options, XP Mode, dual processor (Mac Pro).
Download and play with VirtualBox and Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.

Windows 7 virtual XP Mode impossible since Bootcamp 3.1

I have installed Win 7 on to Boot Camp 3.0 on my macbook pro.
Everything was fine and i could use +virtual XP Mode+ in Win 7 (Microsoft detect tool reported that my macbook was OK for assisted virtualization hardware).
Then, i updated Boot camp to 3.1.
And now, i cannot use +virtual XP mode+ anymore in Win7.
Moreover, Microsoft detect tool now reports that my macbook doesn't support assisted virtualization hardware (or is not configured in BIOS).
How can i configure it in BIOS or anywhere else ?
Is Bootcamp 3.1 compatible with +virtual XP Mode+ in Win 7 ?

Microsoft has a utillity that you can download here:

It runs under Windows and the detection tool helps you check if the computer processor supports hardware virtualization. The tool also checks if this feature is enabled on the processor.
Although this utility can not turn on/off this feature at least you know if you are capable and if it is enabled. My late (2009) unibody MBP ran virtualization just fine both on Bootcamp 3.0 and 3.1. Since MAC has no BIOS, it is unclear how you could configure the EFI to enable this feature.

Will virtual XP mode work with Windows 7 installed with Parallels Desktop 5

I've just installed Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro with Parallels Desktop 5. I've installed the necessary software for virtual XP mode but can't get it to work.....like running a virtual mode within a virtual mode. Just wondering if anyone has been able to make this work. I've read it will work by installing Windows 7 through Bootcamp but it would be more convenient if I could get it to run through Parallels.
Here's what I have:
MacBook Pro 13"
2.56GHz processor
4G memory

I am unable to open CS 2 In Design files in virtual pc xp
mode on windows 7 - even tho it says I should be able to.
It says under 'content manager' check for the right plug ins

More than likely these are CS3 or later files and the latest version you have installed is CS2. Without a newer icon handler from a more recent version, the CS2 icon will be displayed for anything newer than CS, and Windows itself has no clue that any version of ID other than the last one installed is associated with the file type.
As Jongware points out, this is the typical error for trying to open a newer version file.

How to run labview program in debugging mode in windows 95 version

I am facing probelm while running probe.vi.
I received this command "connection to acquisition board was not found" when i run labview program.
I am using labview 5.1, fieldpoint FP 1000, NI-DAQ 6.5, Field point explorer version 1.6, Measurement and Automation Explorer 1.0.1.
I would kindly request you please help me how to run my program probe.vi in debugging mode in windows 95 version, so that i can locate where error occurs.

Norbert : Possible reasons are e.g. wrong IDs for measurement devices. If the error is connect to the FieldPoint, it is possible that it isn't configured correctly.
I am using Field point explorer 1.6, The Field point instrument FP 1000 and RS-232 port is using. It is confirmed that the field point instrument is working properly by LED light indication test.
Norbert: It sound like you are using DAQ devices (like PCI MIO 6952E) in the application. Are you sure that you select the correct device ID for this?
I am asking you to know, If i using Labview and Fieldpoint instrument FP 1000 to monitor my parameter interms of All, Channel 0, Channel 1, Channel 2, Channel 3, Channel 4, Channel 5, Channel 6, Channel 7 for my measurement.
But now i need to solve the command connection to acquisition board was not found, The expert say this command is due to there was no AT-AO-10 Analog Output board was present in CPU.
I do not find AT-AO-10 Analog Output board in my CPU, Previously the instrument was worked perfectly by other person who assembled everthing to measure temperature.
The only aswer know send by previous person is if my task does not imply the use of a DAQ you probably have to locate where the DAQ driver is called and exclude it from the program. try to run the program in debugging mode so that you can locate where the error occurs.
I do not know how to proceed his instruction. So i would kindly request you to please help me to solve my probelm.
I also removed AT-AO-10 software from device manager >> Data Acquisition system >> AT-AO-10 just now.
I also find GPIB version 1.30, when i remove in add or remove program, it say that Error removing the GPIB.

Can I run Firefox in chromeless mode (ie. with no Windows borders etc)

I think chromeless mode is the correct term to use. Basically I want to run Firefox 8 without the usual Windows borders. For example to run it un-maximised but looking just as it does when maximised.

Current Firefox versions on the Windows platform are only available official as 32 bit versions, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Why is Firefox running in Safe Mode in Windows Start, ever since updating to 6.0.2.4?

Also, my menu bar completely changed and all my menu preferences disappeared... WHY? The menu bar went to a weak Yahoo format, and basically ousted my Google home page. Why?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Full Screen mode with all toolbars hidden.
* Press F11 to toggle full screen mode (Firefox/File > Full Screen)
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

Harddisk damage after sleep mode while running 3 virtual machine on Hyper-V

Hi, I have laptop with specification Intel Core i3, 8 Gb ram, 500 Gb 5400 rpm Hdd. I am running 3 virtual machine on that laptop using Hyper-V. Each vm have 1 Gb ram and 1 core processor. I left the laptop for
lunch. After comeback from lunch I see that laptop on sleep mode. I press the power button to turned back on the laptop, after the power is on, the harddisk won't boot and the disk become damage. Is there anyone could explain why that is

Based on your description, this issue shouldn’t be caused by current configurations on your environment (as
you described: wake up from sleep mode while run 3 virtual machine on Hyper-V). I guess that there are some troubles in this harddisk. As Dave mentioned, please contact with laptop manufacturer and confirm it. I believe we will get a better assistance there.
