I am having a super annoying problem where I export a video with color correction filters, and on the outputted file I get a single frame of garbage... This has happened to me 3-4 times, and usually re-rendering it fixed it.. However I did it again (it takes approx 8 hours to render), and the exact same frame has garbage

Has anyone had this happen to them? Do you have any recommendations on how I can avoid this. I am getting tired of wasting 8 hour blocks of time rendering!!! Note that this is actually happening in the middle of a cross dissolve.. is there cross fade data that should be deleted and FCP can automatically recreate the fade data?

Not sure what the problem is other than something in the clip has somehow become corrupt. You might try re-capturing the clip. I'd also run Apple Disk Utility and Disk Warrior on the drive just to make it's problem free.
As a workaround for the render issue. Why not just re-render that clip instead of the whole timeline?

Check for yourself as that article is complaining about OS X client, they openly state
they don't have server to test with. So the complaint is legitimate, but dangerously inaccurate.
Unless you have installed the server update and verified that it does not fix the issue.

Sounds like you bought the iPad secondhand and the previous owner did not remove it from his/her iCloud account.
If you are unable to contact the original owner, the iPad is (unfortunately) useless to you.

It throws a popup only the first time you launch the app, to confirm whether you wish to have notifications enabled for that specific app.

Web templates (CSS / HTML) - not just iWeb - that look like Apple sites?

Is there anywhere that has a website template, either paid for or free, that would make a site look like the apple site (like this one and the store homepage etc!)
I really like the clean look and feel of it, and love the menue bar in particular.

Why not create it yourself without the need for a template.
It would be simple enough to do - just select the white template in iWeb and create your own nav menu using shapes etc. and you can create it yourself without having to spend any money.

My mouse preference pane does not look like Apple's

Just bought the Magic Mouse, and I like it. Would like to do some fine-tuning, though. On the apple.com there's a movie about the mouse, with a shot of the pref pane for mouse settings. It looks like this:

Exactly. Secondary click is on, but locked to ctrl+click. I would like to modify this. The apple.com screen shot looks like it offers that option, but I might be wrong.

I guess Apple suppose to do something and help the customers, anyway but I am still under 30 days warranty period I am going to return it back and I guess may be there are lot of other options available comparing iphone4. but Lets wait what kind of solutions apple bring to me.

No matter what the product, there will always be some off the line that are defective. It's a fact of life.
The phone has a 1 year Warranty, not 30 days. I'm sure they'll be happy to replace it for you.
Now, that said, have you bothered to sync the phone to make sure you don't have to come back whining because you got your phone replaced and now you can't find your stuff?

I use e-trade and a couple of times, years back, I found them behind the Java updates.
So, now I install new Java platforms on my backup disk and test the streaming data on that first because I know it will be over-written that evening with my nightly backup.
Of course, since I began doing that there hasn't been a problem. Do the same with printer driver updates.
Anyway, call ScottTrade and howl! Tell them how many Macs are out there and why aren't they in Apple Developers Program?

Looks like Apple has removed yet another useful feature!

I have a workflow where I trash jpeg previews of .eps and .pdf vector files.
I was able to quickly see what was a preview and what was a genuine .jpeg (no vector version) by selecting all the jpegs by kind, then switching to name list.
Unpaired jpegs I keep.
Now when you do that in Mavericks, the selection is unselected.

Why can't my mid2009 mac book pro upgrade to Yosemite? It sounds like Apple is using a page from microsoft to be a new computer....

I am trying to understand why Apple is not allowing mid2009 macbook pro's to upgrade to yosemite. What else is Apple not going to support? It looks like Apple had taken a page from the microsoft book. This is really frustrating.

Let me give you a slightly different perspective than everyone else here. You are using an unsecured wireless network, which means that all your network traffic is easily available for viewing by anyone else using that network. That's bad. Very bad, for you, unless you absolutely trust everyone who lives within range of this network. So stop doing it.
As to the Mac not connecting, wireless networking is simply too complex for any reasonable answer without more information. There are many possible error points, and as often as not it's the Mac that can connect and the Windows PC that cannot. Since you can't give us any information about the configuration of the neighbor's network, and can't make any changes to it, we can't do much to help you troubleshoot it.

Create a video like apple commercials (white background)

I would like to create a video of myself speaking for 10 minutes.
All i want is to look like apple commercials on TV, where the background is all white and there is a small dark shade.
Anyone can explain me how to do this, what program could I use, and what are the steps (if not so hard)...

a studio, a white cove, 'some' light and a Director of Photography..
seriously: these recordings are done by highly experienced pros .. for sure, you can build a white cove in your apartment, use indirect ( ! ) build-lights, set the exposure manually on your camcorder.. but if that poor-man's-solution has the same quality as Apple's $$$.$$$ ads.. ?

What does a dead pixel even Look like ?

I posted a thread 24 hours ago that ended up w/ a missing section, then 2 replies to finish.... a real mess that went deservedly unanswered.
I'm sure I can do better :
Suddenly I've got 2 "bits of dust" towards the lower right corner of my 24" display. They're different sizes ( the smaller close to a pin-head ) and the slightly larger one is a much darker shade of grey. They're also roughly-edged...misshapen.
They look like pieces of grit , is it even possible for a foreign particle to "ride in on a CD" and end up visible within the display ?
I'm sure that's doubtful, but I don't know much beyond what they "look like"
I've tried the Pixel-Fixer widget, but have seen no effect.
I'd just like to hear what else others may have had, the better to determine what these interlopers actually are !

The LCD is a sealed unit before it's placed in the computer so no it's not possible for foreign particles to "ride in on a CD". It may be possible for dust to get under the "glass" that covers the LCD, but again, not from a CD.

Apple has a decent article on pixel anomalies. In order to keep LCD costs down, a certain number of pixel anomalies are considered "acceptable" by most manufacturers. Some resellers offer a dead pixel warranty for an extra cost. They lose money with individual LCDs that are returned with pixel anomalies that are considered "acceptable" (the manufacturer would bill them for repair or replacement) and usually sell them at a reduced cost. In the long run, though, most LCDs don't have pixel anomalies so the more dead pixel warranties they sell, the more profit they make.
I've tried the Pixel-Fixer widget, but have seen no effect.
Software like the Pixel-Fixer widget are often just temporary solutions. Stuck pixels usually indicate a hardware issue with the LCD matrix and the only guaranteed way to make sure they're gone is to replace the display.
This picture mistakenly refers to a "bright" pixel as "dead". When the pixel is stuck in an open position (allowing light to pass through) it's a "bright" (sub-)pixel. When it's stuck in a closed position (blocking light from passing through) it's called a "dark" or "dead" pixel.
This picture shows a dead (or "dark") pixel.
Hopefully that clears some of your questions.

Icloud keeps inserting fake calendar events and fake contacts - looks like test data

In the last few days, meetings for someone in Palo Alto and contacts with fake data [ (555) 555-xxxx ] have been showing up on my wife's iPhone. It looks like Apple test data.

Enter your primary email address as your Apple ID. This will be used as the contact email address for your account. Please note that this email address must be verified before you can use certain Apple services.
And, unless I'm missing something, it appears that you're trying to use your father's e-mail address. Start at Find your AppleID and see if you can resolve the issue.

Try a Reset of the Phone... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
Turn the Phone On...
