Looks like my contact list in MSN mail got hijacked. What now?

People in my contact list have been getting spammed with a money scheme. It wouldn;t be as bad if people in the home office weren't getting it. I changed my password and took the MSN accounts offline, but I'm not sure whether the spam is coming from my email or if my contact list got stolen. Any help?

  • Retrieving Contacts List on iPad Mail

Can anyone tell me how to look up the Contacts list in Mail. The settings for contacts are about sort and display. I haven't been able to see my list of contacts and/or choose from it to send email on iPad?

I've tried that but all I get is 2 ancient contacts. To the left of the heading - Contacts-  it says Groups. Is that part of the problem?

  • HT5361 How to send a mail to my entire contact list of my Mail app ?

How to send a mail to my entire contact list of my Mail app ?

    Hello Madhu,
The only way to send an email without opening a client is: using server-side mail objects invoked by your app.
    This would be the workflow:
    - your user fills in form data (subject, body, mail_to)
    - your application sends form data to a server (via httpservice or webservice or AMF)
    - the server takes care of sending the mail in a way that is transparent to your user
So: it is not possible to send emails without opening the iPhone client (I think by "outlook" you mean the "mail client" with an Exchange account) for security reasons. You wouldn't want any app to send mails without you pressing "Send" in a known interface.

Unable ot send completed PDF questionaire as mail attachment. What now?

With all the wealth of data you provide...
My gues is that the file was not properly enabled to be answered by mail. Unless you can use Acrobat for this, one of your best bets is to contsct the author of the file and ask for a properly enabled copy.

  • What happened to my contacts list in Yosemite mail

I use to have a pull down list of contacts that I could pick and choose (holding down the Command Key) several addressees.  I can't find that pull down list.  Selecting the + only allows one selection at a time, not several.

    Dick2111,
I appreciate your response, but I would hardly call it an acceptable work around.  Your work around only applies if you "pidgeon hole" folks into distinct groupings or contact lists.  I enjoyed and fully utilized the pull down menu in Mountain Lion.  I would enter the BCC field, access the pull down menu of addressees, and double click on each one that I wanted to copy into the BCC field.  Then, with Maverick's, they diminished the ability to double click and finally came up with a "work around" my having to hold down the Command key as I selected individual contacts to move to the BCC field.  That was totally acceptable and I appreciated the escalation and work on the Engineers part.   This work around was only produced after my trouble call was elevated to Senior Engineers.  Now even the Command key option is gone with Yosemite, and the only response I got from Apple Customer Support was to report it via the "feedback" page.  That to me is not unresponsive, but pretty close to it.
It might be an "oversight" but to me is either sloppy programming or perhaps deleting what is thought as infrequently used features to incorporate new features without "growing" the size of the Operating System.
I know i am wrong, but right now I feel it is part of the overall migration plan to an eventually have just one operating system for all Apple platforms, which (tongue in cheek) means if ya can't do it with your thumbs, it can't be important.  I am not sure if there are any third party programs out that address this issue, but I'm not a real fan of replacing Apple core programs with 3rd party stuff, but I may have no choice.  Bummer!

  • I bought a MacBook Air which includes a puzzling cord.  It plugs into a wall socket at one end, but the other end looks like a miniature hair dryer.  Does anyone know what this is for?cord

I bought a MacBook Air which includes a puzzling cord.  It appears to be for charging the Mac.  It has three prongs where it plugs into the wall socket, but at the other end there is something that looks like a miniature old-style hairdryer.  It doesn't fit anywhere on the MacBook Air.  It is approximately 1 cubic inch in size.  Sort of looks like a miniature building with two joined smokestacks.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi, I think you are talking about the extension cord for the MagSafe power adapter.
This you can plug it to the MagSafe adapter in order to get a longer cable, but first you have to slide to disconnect the wall connector from the adapter and get this:
I'm sure you will get it once you slide the socket connector from the adapter. NOTE: you have to slide the  little socket connector from the adapter, DON'T PULL IT OFF. Is easy to slide.
Hope this is the answer for your question. If I'm wrong, please put an image of the "puzzling cord".

  • HT4623 Looks like a Bug in the Default Mail application of iOS 6 in an iPhone 4S

In the mail application of my iPhone 4S running iOS6, while composing a new email, the recipients field marked as "To: " doesn't respond in a single tap rather requires two or three and sometimes even more taps for the blue input bar to appear and enable typing of the recipient's email address.
I have tried resetting the iPhone completely to factory settings and erasing everything several times, but the problem still persists.
It has nothing to do with the suggested automatic recipient addresses as the field doesn't gets activated itself in first tap and the blue bar doesn't appear unlike all other fields such as, "Subject", Cc, etc. It looks as if the touch screen didn't get any feedback and hence returned no response.
Once after a few tapping trials, the blue input bar appears indicating the field ready for the recipient's address to be typed and then everything gets normal from there.
Rest all the applications and everything on the iPhone is working perfectly fine with no problems anywhere at all.
    Kindly suggest the necessary measures.
Also, I am facing exactly the similar situation with my iPod Touch 4th generation running on iOS 6 as well. This has made me conclude that it must be a bug in the mailing application.
Both the devices are only a month old. Also they are configured for different account s and have completely different dat from one another as the ipod touch is being used by my sister who has a separate masbook to sync it.

That connection is supported for tethering....

  • Contacts list and e mail addresses

I have NO Contacts entered on my 8g Ipod Touch (95 days old) yet when I started to write an e mail, started typing the name of the receiver and up came the name I was sending to. However, that e mail address was incorrect and the mail was noted as unsent.
I tried in vain to delete the offending entry but unable to find anyway of doing it. I then tried more e mails,as soon as I typed in the first few letters of the name, that address also came up.
If there are NO CONTACTS, how is it that these names appear and more to the point, how can I delete them?

The only way to delete then is to restore as new.
Every e-mail address entered is remembered.

  • It doesn't look like my contacts transferred from my other accounts, how do I retireve them?

I just created a Mozilla Thunderbird account and moved my emails from two separate accounts ( msn & GoDaddy ). However, it does not appear that my contacts have also transferred. How do I move them without having to retype each contact?

For each of the accounts, export your contacts to a file. There are two formats: LDIF and CSV. TB can accept either, but LDIF is preferable. So once you have the contact files you can import them to your TB address book.

  • Okay so it looks like I need to start my iPhone from new - What about my phonebook?

Hey there, my phone keeps on turning itself off (the screen flickers quickly then turns off) and reboots every 5 minutes and it is a real pain.
I have tried a normal restore via iTunes and also a DFU restore, and neither have made a difference.
Each time though, I have restored my latest backup - I have been informed that its likely to be this backup that is causing me the issue and to start fresh would solve it. Is this true?
I have over 400 contacts in my phone at present, what is the best way of getting them onto my newly installed fresh one?
If it helps, I do have a spare 3GS thats functional (except the speaker) so aid me in this process? What would happen if I plugged in the older 3GS, restored that as a carbon copy of my current phone, then restored my current one as a fresh one, then copy them over somehow?
Any help would be greatfully received, thanks
    James

Aren't you syncing your contacts to a contact app on your computer? You should be. If you are, you can just sync them back.
If not, you need to get them there. Make sure you have at least one entry in the address book on your computer, then go into the info settings for the phone in iTunes and set up the address book sync.
