Lookup Gesture Not Working

I have installed lion on both my iMac (Late 2009) and MacBook Pro (Early 2008).
All the gestures work fine on both, except for the 3 finger double tap to look up.
That works on neither machine, I have messed around with various combinations of different gesture settings but have had no luck.
Anyone else with a similar issue and found a way to fix it?
Also, I have been trying it in Safari and Text Edit.

Does the keyboard shortcut work? Just wondering if it is a problem with the lookup itself and not the gesture.
It works fine on mine.
Given that you see it on two machines, perhaps you have something installed on both that is interfering.
Have you tried in a different account?
How about a Safe Boot?

Multi gestures not working on iPad Air ios8 onwards. Turning gestures off then on works briefly. It's annoying. Is the Air bust? In for rep-air?

MMine has not been working ever since ios8 update. Apple blamed a game I have on the iPad, however this problem occurs on all apps including apple own brand.

I was able to solve this by unchecking compatibility mode and setting the application to run as administrative.

Multi finger gesture not working

Hi,
My laptop is hp 15-r014TX.
Recently my touchpad multi finger gesture has stopped working. I can not scroll using 2-finger scroll, right click, rotation, zoom in and out. However, one-finger gestures are all working fine like I can swap between apps by left swipe, options appear by right swipe. I tried changing the settings, but of no use.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP 15-r014tx Notebook and the finger gestures not working correctly. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot the finger gestures on a Touchpad.
If you will go to the section on common TouchPad gestures, TouchPad and ClickPad configuration options are located on the TouchPad properties page. It shows you the Clickpad properties page. You can select the options. This only works on programs that have this capability, such as a photo browser or word processor.

Right, if you don't have the buttonless trackpad you can't use all the gestures in Lion. With MacBooks it's only the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 model 6,1 and Mid 2010 model 7,1 White Unibody that have the buttonless multi-touch glass trackpad. The Early and Mid 2009 model 5,2s had the 2 button trackpads

Swipe gesture not working in safari

After upgrading to Mavericks the swipe gesture (previous page) in safari is not working and if I swipe ( i am so used to it now), it causes the safari to freeze.
Anybody else have same problem

Reboot
Before Grey screen appears press the folloing button simultaneously...
OPTION+COMMAND+P+R
When Grey screen appear, release and let to continue to boot cycle.

Finger gesture not working on ipad

Ever since the iOS 8 update and the latest updates there after, figure gestures on my iPad are simply not working. To get then to work you need to drag down from the top of the screen to see notifications and then it works. have spoken to apple and they suggested it was an app but it does it on everything. Come on apple sort this out its very frustrating. Has anyone had this and have a solution ?

Define "finger gestures". The iPad is a touch screen device so that's a pretty broad category. If you are talking about multi tasking gestures, like pinching to the home screen, or using a four finger swipe, I have found it to be flakey since the iOS 8 update as well. If it quits working on me, I go into the Settings>General>Mulitasking Gestures and turn it off, then on again. That's not a fix, but it usually holds for a few weeks before I uave to do it again.

Pinch & zoom gestures not working in Safari

Help! Since updating iPhone 4 to iOs 5.1, "pinch & zoom" gestures do not zoom in on page in Safari. Can anyone help with this?

On Lion 10.7.2, iMac, pinch to zoom does not work at all in any application. It is selected in Preferences. Apple Genius & tech on the phone could offer nothing, no reason why, & no fix . Better Touch Tool does not offer a pinch to zoom, so that didn't help.
Among my friends, some say it works, some say it does not, about half & half.
APPLE! Please give us a fix for this!

JNDI LookUp does not work in WSAD5.0

I have an independent java class which creates Data Source in WASD 5.0, and this works fine to get data source when the server is 4.0, but does not work for server 5.0, here is the code:

This did not work dear. I assume when you say [Add ur datasource], you mean the name of the datasource, and I did as you told. I was wondering though that I have an independent java class which try to get data source from WSAD server, then how does web.xml help, may be I am not understanding the connection here.
Just to let you know, that same java class gets the datasource from 4.0 test server. I am running both servers now i.e. 4.0 test and 5.0 test server on different ports, and only data source from 4.0 workd good. Do you have any other solution, which I can try.
Is there any difference the way data source is accessed between 4.0 and 5.0 versions.

Open web.xml, There will reference tab,, then take
Resource, Add ur datasourse on where the Cursor points
and then JNDI Name.

Magic mouse gestures not working

Hi,
the gestures of my magic mouse stop working.
I've tried another mouse on my laptop and it work
I also tried my mouse on another laptop and the same problem happens.
it's behaving like a "normal" mouse.
Is this a hardware problem? if yes, How do I fix it?

Reset the SMC and PRAM, it make take 2-3 attempts to fully clear them. If those do not work restart in Safe Mode to clear some caches.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Multi touch gestures not working in mountain lion?

Any one else having problems with their multi gesture trackpad not working when you wake your notebook from sleeping with Mountain Lion? If I restart it fixes it but once it falls asleep it stops working again.

I've been having the same problem. When my MBP would wake from sleep any touch gestures that used more than two fingers would not work. I also had the issue where the MBP would forget the wireless network when it woke from sleep. I found this answer on another thread and it worked on both issues for me.

Windows 8.1 two finger gestures not working

After I updated to windows 8.1 from windows 8 yesterday, none of my two finger gestures are working. (e.g. two finger scroll, two finger click, or zoom) I tried updating my Synaptics driver and nothing has changed. I still can not use any of my two finger gestures. One finger scrolling is working properly but the two finger gestures are my favorite. All my gestures worked fine until I updated to windows 8.1...
Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?
Please help!

Swipe gestures not working on iPad or mouse

The swipe gestures to move between windows, or access launch pad are not working. Cannot do secondary button on mouse. Track pad is also not working completely. Not sure what settings I may have fouled up, or just what happened.
Any suggestions?

Stream 11 touchpad gestures not working in Windows 10.

I upgraded my Stream 11 to Windows 10 and now the gestures on the touchpad don't work. I can click on something and that works but scrolling and swiping does not. I have updated the drivers. Do the drivers just not support this or is there something I can do to get gestures to work.

did you try going to control panel - mouse and touchpad and changing the settings, (I presume you did) I had a problem with the touchpad gestures also. The synaptics driver that came with windows 10 on my hp pavillion would not save the settings I wanted. In my case I wanted rid of gestures. But it wouldnt keep my preffered settings after restart. I got the old synaptics driver from hp support and this works better for me. The only problem is that windows keeps updating the new driver. To solve this you must change device settings to not automaticaly download drivers.
