Looping a Slideshow

I created a slideshow in iphoto that I need loop for about an hour, sponsors names for an awards banquet. Not really sure the best way to approach. Should I import the QT file and then repeat? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi Mister,
the $$$$$ solution: buy DVDSP, you're able to set loops/write some scripts...
the solution: any dvd-player (hard/soft) is able to set looping points A/B and run in repeat mode.....

Although letting the player do the job may be the easier way, you might want to explore the use of a free program named InfoEdit that was brought up in a 2010 thread here.

I have not used InfoEdit, but you might find it interesting.

  • HT2506 Hello guys, I have a question about Preview - How do you loop a slideshow?

Hello guys, I have a question about Preview - How do you loop a slideshow?

Had the "loop" feature using Preview in 10.4.11; upgaded to 10.5.8 and it's gone. Don't you have to work at "Taking" it away? Makes no sense. Now you have to look for a third market for something that was included in Preview since the first version was launched.  ....I don't get this one.

  • Looping embedded slideshow

    Hey All,
Is there any way I can create a looping, embedded slideshow in an iWeb page? Nothing too fancy. I just want some slowly scrolling images in the corner of a web page.
    Tanks!

Would the slideshow in this demo page, although large there, do what you want? It's done by adding the photos to OVI.com and using their code to add to an HTML Snippet on the page. You can change the width and height dimensions to fit your need.
Normally if one were to click on any of the items on the page they would be taken to the OVI.com site. However, I put a transparent object over each item so that the viewer does not get redirected if they click on any of those item.
If you know javascript you can create your own slideshow and embed it similarly.

  • Adobe Reader X won't loop a slideshow.

I generate a slideshow in Serif PagePlus and one of the options when I publish to pdf slideshow is "Loop Slideshow". This has worked fine for years, until, by the look of it the installation of  AR X. In AR X the slideshow just hangs at the end of the show so my rolling message board no longer works. Setting the Edit > Preferences > Full Screen - "Loop after last page" option in AR enables the slideshow to loop OK. However this isn't needed in previous versions of AR and I can't reckon on all users having this option set.
    Is it a bug?

I did the following and it fixed the problem...
Let us assign permissions to the C drive(or the drive where you have installed the OS) and then check.
To apply permissions to a file or folder for a user:
    a. Right-click on the C drive and then click Properties.
    c. Click the Security tab, and then click Edit.
    d. Do one of the following:
        i. To set permissions for a user that is not listed under Group or user names, click Add, type the name of the user or group, click OK, select the permissions, and then click OK.
ii. To change or remove permissions from an existing group or user, click the name of the group or user, select the permissions, and then click OK.

  • Loop slideshow or movie clips

does anyone know how to loop the slideshows and movie clips on IMOVIE 6 just like u do on IDVD??

    Ranjandeep,
    You can't in iMovie.
But if you play your finished movie back with QuickTime you can.
Just output your movie using Share>QuickTime>Full Quality DV.
Then play the movie with QuickTime Player and choose View>Loop.

  • Adding a Flash-Type Slideshow in iWeb

I want to add a slideshow to my home page, but not the kind of slideshow that has a bar of thumbnails and an enlarged version of the selected image. I'd like a frame that automatically plays a slideshow of images that play for a few seconds with a simple transition. Is this something I can create in iMovie and then import or even in iPhoto? I know you can't use Flash itself, which is fine since I don't know the program, although I'd learn it for this purpose if it was possible to use it.
All thoughts are appreciated. If interested, the site is www.jrcphoto.net
    Thanks
    Jim

Jim ~ You can create a QuickTime movie slideshow in iPhoto. Here's an example of a fast loading, looping embedded slideshow (not mine):
    http://www.heese-cadieux.com
    ...and done like this:
iPhoto > select photos > File > Export... > QuickTime tab ...set width and height, etc.
Then iWeb > Media button > Movies tab ...drag in your movie created above by iPhoto.
Then iWeb > Inspector > QuickTime tab ...settings.
Note: The above generates a QT slideshow of small file size and thus appears quickly in a web browser.

  • Applying music to slideshow

In idvd if you have for example 6 hours of music but 3 hours of pics for a slideshow, is there a way to loop the slideshow to the full 6 hours of music. I have tried it, but cannot get the music to continue without it starting over when the pics of the slideshow starts over from the beginning, I am losing 3 hours of music.

    Welcome to the forums.
In iMovie you can duplicate pictures, so you could put your 6 hours on music on the timeline and duplicate the pictures (select them all, copy and paste). As Fred indicates, what you do with a 6 hour production is a challenge. You may wish to take a look at Roxio Toast to see how much they can squeeze onto a single or dual layer disk -- perhaps you'll have to split the project over multiple discs.
If your DVD player supports the DivX format, that may be a way to put so much content on a single DVD (Toast can do DivX).

  • Creating Hgh Resolution photo slideshow to upload to youtube

Hi, I've created a slideshow in iPhoto with 55 photos and a song to go with it. The highest export resolution there is is 640*480 and it comes out very blurry (especially when you try to enlarge it to full screen).
When i decided to try iDVD i realized it only exports to a dvd format and not to any kind of media that i can upload to you tube.
I don't think iMovie has a better option either.
All I'm looking for is to create a high resolution slideshow from my photos to share on youtube.
Does anyone have any suggestions....? I will be very grateful.

The following approach of creating a QT movie slideshow will give you the option of specifying a higher resolution in its width and height settings.
But the transitions are limited to a simple "fade in and fade out" — no Ken Burns effect, etc.

  • IDVD slideshow pics from Aperture

I want to create a slideshow, no music using full screen pics from Aperture. I want it to loop over and over. How can I set up the slideshow not using an Apple theme? Also how can I create a slide of a logo that is not a photo?
    Thanks,Phil.

    Hi Phil,
The themes in iDVD are for the menu, and will disappear once the user starts the slideshow. You can drag a slideshow to the Autoplay position (use the Map/Outline view to see this) so the slideshow automatically starts when the DVD is inserted. And there is an option to loop the slideshow video.
You can use third party software to create the slideshow, but iPhoto and iMovie both will work fine to create the video version of your slideshow (you'll need to set timing, transitions, etc.). iPhoto can Share/Export a slideshow to Quicktime video. You can drag and drop this video into the Autoplay position. iDVD can also create slideshows, but I prefer the other two options.
None of this software distinguishes between a photo jpeg and a logo in jpeg format. Like your photos, you'll want to get the orientation correct (traditional TV is a 4:3 ratio, and widescreen is 16:9) or you'll have black bars framing your photos.
Resolution of your logo or photo doesn't matter (they are being displayed on a TV at 72dpi), but the size of the image can be a factor. Surprisingly, huge images may actually look worse on a TV than smaller images (to a point). Images from a DVD on a full screen, conventional TV are approx 640x480 pixels; larger images are scaled down and if you scale them down in Aperture, the results can be better than if they're scaled during the conversion to video. There's lots of forum discussion on getting the best quality slideshows, so search and get other views and techniques.

  • Need some help for photo transitions

How can i make a banner using photo transitions like this: www.sportrecife.com.br ?!
Can i make it using iweb?!

Welcome to the discussions. I could be wrong, but it looks like that is being done via Javascript. One way to achieve a similar effect is to create a QT movie slideshow. Here's an example of a fast loading, looping embedded slideshow (not mine):

  • Can I add a slide show to my iWeb created site using MobileMe

    Hi there,
What I want to do is to create a folder with a load of pictures of me in them and then add them to the Home Page of my website, so that when people visit my website all the pictures play as an automatic slideshow at the top of the page and automatically scroll through all the pictures in that set.
I have created my website in iWeb 09 and it is published on MobileMe, I really hope that someone can help me because I really want this to work. At the minuet I can add MobileMe photo albums but I cant get them to play as an automatic slideshow and just scroll through all the pictures (without having to open any separate windows or anything)
    Huge thanks for you help

Jason ~ The following two suggestions don't involve MobileMe...
Here's an example of a fast loading, looping embedded slideshow (not mine):

An alternative approach (that doesn't require QT to be installed on the viewer's computer) is to set up a slideshow at weebly.com — open a free account there and then embed your Weebly slideshow page in your iWeb page:
Embedding a Site Within an iWeb Page
To see a Weebly looping slideshow, see the third example here:

  • Displaying Keynote on TV

I want to show a looping keynote slideshow on my TV- my TV has a USB port in additional to the yellow, red, white plugs. Can I use the USB port to do this?  What kind of cords do I need? Do I need additional cords if I want sound as well?

It's best to indicate the particular model of TV and/or its connection ports. For example, if it's THIS SONY 60" HDTV, it has HDMI inputs and so, to your iMac's +Mini DisplayPort+, you can connect this adapter:
    http://kanexlive.com/products/item-id-3142.html
...along with this 6' or 12' HDMI cable:
