Looping error message re Network Settings

When trying to review Network in System Preferences a pop up error appears:  "Your Network Settings have been changed by another application"
This message is in a constant loop - the only way I can get rid of it is to force quit System Preferences.
This started when trying to connect to a new "BT Home Hub" wireless router after years of problem free operation using the previous router (an older "BT Home Hub". Also I had been trying to "Create a network" connecting to an iBook G4 with an ethernet cable.

Hello,
That was a common annoyance years ago, due to a Security update.
To stop the pop-up, Go to System Preferences: Security. Check the box next to "Require password to unlock each secure system preference." Then lock Security.
Try this cure for Security update...

Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active
What do I need to do, is this a settings thing? and what should it be

That usually means your security software is interfering, so disable ALL anti-virus, anti-malware & firewalls and try again.

    Sherya, welcome to the forum.
When requesting help, you should always include the make/model of the computer and/or monitor. This information is necessary for us to review the specifications of them.
I believe that this is a problem for your ISP.  Their Customer Service should be able to help you.  There may be some settings that can be changed to solve the problem.  They would know what the settings should be.  I don't believe that it is a hardware problem.

When starting iTunes I continually get an error message " The registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."  I have unistalled and reinstalled iTunes several times and have cleaned up the registry using a 3rd party Windows utility.  Any tips on removing this error message for good?

This means that your NAS does not support the required encryption. Update your NAS to the latest firmware or ditch it and buy a Time Capsule (they are the most reliable when using TM).

    UPDATE #2:
I chatted with Ashley from Apple Support yesterday and she suggested me to restore the phone and set it up AS NEW, NOT restore from backup.
    And it worked!
Of course, you have to back up everything, but I have my contacts, notes, and pictures on iCloud. All I did was merge them back to the phone from iCloud Setting.
One downside: you'll lose all text messages. But it's worth it.
    So, thank you, Ashley!

  • Ever since upgrade to iTunes 11 i get an error message states registry settings for drivers used to import cds are missing

Error message suggests reinstalling itunes - done. Nothing. (So thats the official Apple suggestion beig useless). Tried a number of fixes listed here after search revealed others had this problem. reinstalled itunes, removed ALL 3rd party burning software (even those that were present when itunes was working), amended registry settngs as detailed in Apple Support pages - this didnt work so returned them to original settings. Downloaded new updated Gear drivers etc still nothing. Does anyone have any other possible solutions? Am running an Acer laptop with Windows 7 and now iTunes 11.1.1.11.
Diagnostics run from iTunes says CD drive is working and can read the tracks etc but simply can not import anything. If it runs through one track it takes about 5-10 minutes per 4 minue track, then when you try and play it back it has only saved about 4 seconds worth of crackle. Also can not play the CDs through WMP either or VLC or anything else for that matter.
At wits end now, only option seems to bring forawrd the purchase of replacement laptop but dont want to have same issue in future.
Need iTunes as have iPods, 2 x iPhones, iPad and Apple TV in family so dont want to jump ship...

  • Podcast Error Message "The network connection could not be made."

For the past few days, the same 4 of my twenty or so podcasts have had an exclamation point next to them. When clicked, the subject message appears "The network connection could not be made.". I figured these may have been canceled since other podcasts I subscribe to downloaded without a problem. But now, when I go into the iTunes store and try to subscribe to new podcasts, they won't download. I do not get an error message. The download begins and abruptly ends before any data is received. I can subscribe but well, a lot of good that does when nothing comes. Any ideas would be a HUGE help. Oh & yes, my network connection is fine. At least I think it's fine. Everything else internet related is just dandy. Thanks!

I think there may be a networking problem with the specific podcast(s). I have a couple of these myself. It normally indicates I am not playing them on my iPod but sometimes (as now) there is an abnormal situation.
I know that some Internet links have not been working perfectly in the last week or so (and the Apple forums have also been slow perhaps due in part to this), but it might be an idea to track the source down, starting with the iTunes shop and resubscribe.
One I just checked has changed the feed and both are on the iTunes shop, so the first is showing the ! while the second works fine. The same is true for the second feed: although I am subscribed, a check of the originating website shows that the "File is not available."
