Looping Slideshow with Videos. How please?

I just downloaded Keynote 09 as 08 did not support 1920x1080 Res. I'm pretty au-fait with Keynote but I'm a bit stuck with something.
I'm trying to create a looping slideshow with images and text and also videos. I want the slide show to just run on it's own without any clicking of buttons at all
The problem I have is that when I click play,the Presentation starts off fine, and shows the first few pages with static images and text, but when it gets to the pages with Video on, it plays the video for five seconds then moves on to the next slide, I don't want the slides with Videos on to move to the next one until the video has finished, how can I do this? I've looked at "recording a slideshow" but have been unable to fathom how that helps.

A few different ways about this. You could split the slide show into smaller sections that are withi the limits for posting and then post each section.
You could try a different encoding to make the file smaller. What settings did you use when you created and exported the slide show?

Slideshow with video

I've created a slideshow with video and photos. In plays back fine within Aperture. When I connect a projector (mini display port to vga at 1024x768), the photos play fine but the video skips. It plays fine if I esport the slide show and then play it with the monitor. Video is 1920.
Since I'm doing this at a wedding and time is short, I'm trying not to export the slideshow.
Can I make this work without exporting?

Are you at the wedding now? I guess you going to taking shots and video and trying to put something together that you can show while at the wedding? You must like pressure
How are you showing the video through the projector? USing the secondary viewer settings in Aperture or just mirroring your laptops screen via the OS?
Whichever one your using try the other. To be honest this may be a tough thing to troubleshoot you may have to just do the export. Think of something to entertain them with while the Aperture exports.

IMovie still photo slideshow with theme - how?

Hi I'm new to Mac, and I'm trying to make a photo slideshow with iMovie 6 HD. I wanted to use a theme for the opening, bumper, credit, etc.
From my understanding, I put the photos in the drop zone, put in the titles, and apply and drop the theme into the timeline. Then I drop the photos into the timeline as desire to continue the slideshow. However, problem arise as the animated theme ends, it doesn't connect with the photos that follow. For example, if I put 6 photos in the opening and as the opening animation ends, it zooms into photo #6 and it ends right there. I assume then I should drop photo #6 right after the opening theme, is that right? Problem is that the zoom level doesn't match and there will be a very obvious jump from the opening to the next photo! The same also happen to the beginning and ending of bumpers, and such.
Am I missing something? How do you make the transition smooth? Could somebody point me to some tutorials, threads, or provide some advice on how to create a photo slideshow with themes?

How do you match the beginning/ending of a theme animation to match the photo before/after it, so that it doesn't look like it jumped?

Apple TV slideshow with video and images

I want to make a "slideshow" with alternating video clips (from one movie) and pictures.Can I tell the movie to play for a certain amount of time and then switch to an image and then go back to the movie, repeating until the movie is over and then have the whole thing start over? Or can I use iMovie to break up the video and insert the image and make a movie to sync with the AppleTV? Is there an easy way to do this?

Try unplugging all cables for a few mins then try again, if no improvement it's almost certainly had it.
If in warranty try an Apple Store if you have one nearby.

Slideshow with Videos and Pictures

Hi!
I am trying to make a slideshow with photos and various short videos interspersed among the photos. I have a customized playlist for the slideshow so that there is music playing when the photos are being shown. My problem is that the music continues to play when the videos are playing which interferes with the audio in the video. Is there anyway to get the music to pause whenever there is a video playing?

Not in iPhoto, afaik. I Aperture it would be easy.
As a work-around you could use GarageBand to create a custom sound track that's fade in and out when your videos are shown, assuming you have the complete iLife package installed.
Export your Slideshow as movie.
To edit your sound track in GarageBand add the song files to the time line and arrange them,
Drag the slideshow movie to the Timeline, to see the positions of the videos and to help to get the timing right.
Delete the movie soundtrack.
Then show the master track (cmd-B) and enable the master volume.
Adjust the master volume curve to fade out the sound when you want silence.
Delete the movie track and share the sound track to iTunes.
Then add this track to the slideshow.

As from the title I would like to know if in Captivate 7 (or 8) there is a widget for playing several videos within a sort of slideshow.

Powerbook freeze issue with video (help please)

I've had some difficulty with my Powerbook G4 freezing up while surfing the web. It happens usually when on a website with video, i.e., Youtube, etc. Also, occurs when watching downloaded programs on ITunes.
I ran the hardware test (everything came up clean), I ran the Disk Utility (everything came up clean), and I reinstalled my software bundle. Yet, I still encounter this problem with some frequency.
Just some background: I bought my Powerbook August 2005, I run Mac OS X 10.4.8. It has 1.5 GHz processor and 1GB DDR SDRAM.
Any assistance that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the Apple discussions.
When you look at about this mac (click blue apple, about this mac), does it show 1GB of memory?
How much free disk space do you have? You want to keep approximately 10% of it unused, for systems usage.
If you bring up your Activity Monitor, on your hard drive in applications/utilities, under system memory, what does it say for page ins/outs? If out's are 10% or greater of ins, then you have a memory constraint for the programs you run. The counts reset when you reboot, so the size of the ins/outs isn't important, rather the relationship is.
Have you looked at your activity monitor when these symptoms come up, to see if anything is causing your CPU to go to 100% usage?
If it were me, considering what you've already done, and disk space and memory considerations were OK, I'd take these additional steps. If you don't have it already, download OnyX from http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs/english.html
1) Under Unix Utilities, choose the plutil tab and run it for all accounts. This ensures your preference files aren't corrupt.
2) Run all cleaning tasks. Note the next reboot may take slightly longer than normal.
3) Run all maintenance tasks, including complete optimization.
Now if that doesn't fix it, I'd ask if you've noticed this problem since installing 10.4.8, and if so, did you install 10.4.8 via software update? If yes, reinstall using the combo update from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1048comboupdateppc.html . Sometimes the software update function doesn't update everything correctly, creating odd problems.

How do I keep the volume consistent on iPhoto when making a slideshow with video?

I am making a slideshow for my church. I first made it in iMovie but the picture quality was lost considerably when I uploaded them into iMovie. I read that there was no way around that, so to use iPhoto instead. I have video's that I am including, but when ever I apply it all with the song I want to play, when ever the videos come up the sound gets quiet as if it were allowing the videos to be heard. I DONT want that. I do not have any sound for the video's and dont want any. Is there any way to make the volume consistant throughout the entire slideshow?
If not, is there a way to keep the picture quality on iMovie????

PhotoPresenter will not mute selected music over a movie file that does not have a sound track component. I use Quicktime Player with QT Pro and can strip out any audio track in a movie. PP then plays it without dipping the sound during the movie portion. This demo page has a few of the over 20 animated themes in PP: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes
There may be others with the same capability but with PP there have to be no sound track component in the file like the one shown in this screenshot in QT Player 7:

Web Banner with Video: How to start a flash animation ONLY after .flv is finished loading.

Hi,
I am making a 10 sec. web banner and am required to use a video that is on an external server. I had no problem getting the video file converted, uploaded to the external server and it is now playing back perfectly after exporting the .swf file.
The problem I am having is that my animations (mostly text items, which are placed very carefully throughout the .flv movie) aren't matching up with the movie's movements (due to the .flv starting later due to streaming – I am assuming).
How would I go about syncing these two things, so that the animations always line up exactly with the video's movements? Something like a preloader would be totally fine. I've also read about 'Cue Points' but they seem to be a little unnecessary for what should be a simple 10 sec. banner.
Also the .flv itself is exactly 10 sec. long, but the banner is 13 sec. long so that the last screen (with the most important information) is shown statically for 3 sec. Should I be doing anything to compensate for this other than simply adding the 3 sec. in the timeline in flash, and letting the .flv restart when the entire .swf starts looping?

use cuepoints in the video to sync your swf movieclips/timelines with your video.

Problem with Video transference, please help!!!

hey everone i have a ibook g4 and the 5g 30gb ipod video. Everything's working our great, I love it, its confusing but worth the confusion, when your bored and hungry for a video from your pocket. Anyway to my problem I have 2 files on my compuet, star wars episodes 4 and 5, they both wont play on quicktime. I play them on VLC and it works fine, since it doesn't play on quciktime it wont let me transfer into my itunes library. I drag it in, which would work with a reuguar song or video, although for this it doesn't. In fact it doesn;t say anything just doesnt transfer, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks evreyone.

Help with video settings please! videos will not play but audio of the vid

Hey..i have the 30GB ipod video. i have alot of music videos on there which are under the category movies on my ipod. i turned my ipod on about three weeks ago and none of the movies would play. they all appear as thumbnails. the thumbnails dont move but the audio of the movie does play. the thing that has happend is that somehow all my songs have come into the video playlist and i dont know how this has occured. i cannot plug my ipod to my computer as my computer no longer works. and if i plug it into my laptop then the songs and movies and photos will be earsed. i really want my videos to work again i just dont know how the settings have changed themselves.. is there any chance anybody knows how to get the videos to work again? if you require more information please let me know..the video settings are as follows: tv out - off, tv signal - PAL, widescreen - off. Also if i want to back up everything on my ipod how do i go abouts doing this so that i do not lose the data on it? thank you..chandni

Problems Sycing multiple Audio tracks with Video. Please help

I have a video clip from my Cannon 70D that im trying to sync with 2 seperate audio tracks from my Zoom. One LR stero track and one wireless mic track.
I select all three clips in the event windo and chose SYNC CLIPS from the clip menu. I take the Syncronized clip and place it in the time line , but when i go to expand audio there are only two track available - The scratch audio from the camera clip and what appears to the LR audio from the Zoom. Hard to tell though because Final Cut renames the Audio for me. I did notice that the sample rate on the video and audio files are different. Could that be the problem?

I haven't had much luck with SYNC CLIPS. I suggest you use Multicam instead.
Go to the Inspector and set up your Canon video as Angle 1. Set Zoom XY as Angle 2, and set Zoom wireless mic as Angle 3. Then Select the clips and FILE/NEW MULTICAM CLIP.

Itunes audio is not synched with video, how do I fix it?

When I play a movie or a music video in iTunes the audi becomes farther from the vidoe as the file plays. There is also a scrtatchiness to the audio track. I can no longer play any video of any kind on itunes becaasue of this.
any hints as to the problem and how to fix it?

Hello my good ppl, i have a prob.of transfering my movies from comp. to Itouch.
I just bouth it, used to have nano before...so i am not familiar with watchin movies on ipod, anyway...problem is that any time i try to drag a movie file from comp to lybrary in Itunes...nothing happens as the format is not supported and all...i am desperate , what should i do? What formats are suported?. I manage to drag and drop a clip from my camera and converted it to Ipod, although no sound was played. But the main reason i bouth it is the movies, so i dont know what to do.

Well for videos you already have you can use a converter. Here is a good one: http://www.ipod-video-converter.org/
That's what i used to do.
Now i just buy everything from iTunes. It's alot easier. You don't have to go through all of those hassles like converting it to the right format and then having it not look good or the sound not being there. So for best results i would say buy/rent them from iTunes. It's alot easier.
