Looping starfield help
Hi! Fairly new to Motion here... what a fantastic program!
I'm trying something which should be fairly simple. I just want a looping starfield (10 seconds or so), with stars fading in an out. They don't need to be moving. Just a stationary field of stars flickering. It will stay up on two video screens, and is supposed to simulate the night sky.

I solved it in a bit primitive way.

So what I did was to connect its
MIDI in and MIDI out through this device:

In that way,
The MIDI signal comes from my sequencer program,
to MIDI out,
to MIDI in,
and then to Apple Motion.

First try restarting your Mac into "safe mode", which will run the equivalent of a Disk Utility "repair disk" operation. If your Mac shuts down during that process, you'll have to try something a little more powerful (and more expensive), such as DiskWarrior.

80G Classic Ipod Stuck in Reset Loop, Please Help

My Ipod (80G classic) is stuck in the continuous reset loop showing only the apple logo. I have tried restoring it numerous times, to no avail. I have also tried uninstalling itunes and re-installing it, different versions also, this does not work either.
This is very frustrating, and I am finding no help on the apple site. Any suggestions?I'm not clear if you've actually managed to get iTunes to restore the iPod yet. These steps should make it possible. Hold Menu+Select for about 6 seconds until the iPod resets, then hold Menu+Play as soon as the Apple logo appears, again for about 6 seconds to put the machine in disk mode. Connect the iPod to your computer, closing iTunes if it opens. Browse *My Computer* and right-click on the drive for the iPod, click Properties, then click Tools. Under Error-checking, click *Check Now*. Under Check disk options, select *Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors*. Click Start. Mac users should run *Disk Utility / Repair Disk* for the equivalent process. This should find and correct any errors in the logical & physical structures of your iPod's hard drive. Once these have been fixed you should be able to start iTunes and complete the restore process. I'd suggest you don't rush to put back all your music in one go. Test that the iPod works with a smaller playlist first.

My LOOPS Disappeared from LOOPS Browser HELP!
hi, my loops do not show up in my loops browser in logic 8 all of a sudden. yesterday the did, and now, there is nothing there. all the choices like "dark" or "experimental" or "guitars" etc. no longer highlight. the only button that highlites is "All". and when i click it the "Reset" button highlites. then i click that an nothing again. not finding them. but when i search for them they are on my harddisk... not deleted. does anyone know how to get the loop browser to rescan the drive? ive quit logic and restarted, resterted the computer. looked thru all my choices n tried to read logic manual. cant find anything to get my loops to show back up in the browser. can anyone help?
Im having the same issue with my Logic 8 Pro. When i clicked on a loop that was not there, i accidentally selected clear all loops and now I have none! they are currently on my hard disk because I can see them. I just cannot get them back into logic 8! WHAT THE HEY!?

IPhone 4 Recovery Mode Loop PLEASE HELP ASAP
My iPhone 4 is stuck in a Recovery mode loop ever since I updated to iOS 6. I am using a mac running 10.8.3 with the latest iTunes. When it is connected to my computer iTunes pops up and says "An iPhone in recovery mode has been connected, you must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." Then I click restore and update and it goes through with the whole process then i get the unknown error -1 and an iPhone that is still in recovery mode:(
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem with while loops, please help!
I am having quite a bit of trouble with a program im working on. What i am doing is reading files from a directory in a for loop, in this loop the files are being broken into words and entered into a while loop where they are counted, the problem is i need to count the words in each file seperately and store each count in an array list or something similar. I also want to store the words in each file onto a seperate list

tangled mess. You want a collection of words per file. You have at least
zero files. Given a file (or its name), you want to add a word to a collection
associated with that file, right?
A Map is perfect for this, i.e. the file's name can be the key and the
associated value can be the collection of words. A separate simple class
can be a 'MapManager' (ahem) that controls the access to this master
map. This MapManager doesn't know anything about what type of
collection is supposed to store all those words. Maybe you want to
store just the unique words, maybe you want to store them all, including
the duplicates etc. etc. The MapManager depends on a CollectionBuilder,
i.e. a simple thing that is able to deliver a new collection to be associated

FINDER FAILURE - Lost in a loop - Please help!
As I write this on my laptop, my G4 733 running OS 10.3.9 is repeatedly relaunching the finder.
It does not allow me to do anything; as soon as the Icons are done displaying, everything disappears and it starts all over agian (just as if I had told it to relaunch from the FORCE QUIT option.
It has now been doing this for about an hour. And this is AFTER I rebooted from the Install disks and reinstalled the system.
This looping begins once I have typed in my password in the login screen. It does not do it for other users on this computer, only for me.
I have run disk utility on all disks and repaired permisions on all and repaired all. No problems detected.
Any help at all would be tremendously appreciated. My G4 is just looping right along and I can't stop it.

One thing that you might try is to delete the following preference file:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
For the change to take effect, you need to stop and restart the Finder, but it sounds like that will happen automatically.
If that does not help, take a look in the console.log and system.log files and see if anything is printed out when Finder quits. These logs are accessible with the Console program in the Utilities menu.

I have a package that runs and updates a table with everytime someone adds a flat file in the source folder. One of the requirement is to upload files with the following
ACA Flat files will have a naming convention of “ACA_ccyy_<julian date>” : How can I add this?
Under Files this is how I have setup the qualifies "ACA_*.*"
Is there anyway to pass the entire naming convention in the file section? If so how can I ?

FMAs you have ACA_*.* set in Files Filter, it will return all the files from the folder which start with ACA_.
You can have one dummy Sequence Container inside FE Loop Container. Connect it to your starting task and do right click on Precedence Constraint and write the expression the way you want by using SSIS functions. If the expression is evaluated to True only
then it will go to the next task.
In this way you can skip Non-ACA files.

Checking values in a loop, any help would be great
Am having a right messy time trying to solve the following problem.
tring to stop the same question appearing by checking the new random question agains the questions in a db. if it already on the db it get another randomQuestion from another source. But up to now it's not checking it right and still coming out with questions that are already stored on the db. any helpful hints would be very grateful. also very new to java so bare with me.

I have two txt. files one of them has :
1st txt:
Barcelona 14 20 // Airport , x and y (coord.)
Caliornia 30 40
Paris 2 15
Fiji 20 23
and the 2nd txt file has:
40 // number of flights for exemple
C 0025 California Barcelona // type, number,Startpoint , destination
A 0045 Paris Barcelona
C 0032 Fiji Paris

i've a method that splits those words into columns so in the 1st txt the name of the airport is e.g word[0] xx = [1] and yy [2]
in the 2nd txt i did the same thing, Starpoint is word_flight [2] and the arrived point is word_filght [3]
So, what im trying to do is to return all the coordenates (x , y) of the start points and all the coordenates (x, y ) of the arrived points
to do that we must to compare the first name of the start point with the list of the airports of the 1st txt file, like a loop. , what it supose to do is something like this: e.g
Flights.txt
first it picks " California"
then, it will compare with the list of the Airports.txt
"california " - 1st position of the Airports.txt is: Barcelona
is not equal so..now it will compare with the 2nd position
california with california (2nd of the 1st txt) -> combines so it keeps the coordenates , and then increment the next line of the flights.txt and picks the flight from the 2nd position (Paris)
Now it will compare with the list of airports
Paris - Barcelona = NO 1st position
Paris - California = NO 2nd
Paris - Paris = Yes 3rd ( keeps the coordenates of paris)
remember that word [0] (from the airports.txt ) when we do : System.out.println(word[0]) , the ouput is:
Barcelona
California
Paris
Fiji
samething to the others.
Well the big problem is that i don't know how to do that..this few lines of code that u'll see under, compares the first position of both , if it is equals keeps the coordenates , if not, leaves the 1st start point and picks the 2nd ...i don't want that, i want it picks the 1st startpoint and see if it exists on the airports.txt (1st , 2nd ,3rd....positions) and not if it is on the same position. you will understand where the problem is..through the code.

if we use these files, when we print (destinationX and destinationY) the output will be only : 7 25 and 24 35 ( because California and Paris are in the same position in both files)
if we print(startPointX and Y) it won't print anything because the names are in different positions in both files.
I don't want it to see if it is on the same position , i just want it to search in the airports-txt if name by name (startpoint) exists in the list of the airposts, check it one name at the time, and when it finds the same name on the 2nd position 1st or last ( doesn't matter) it keeps the coordenates, then increments the flight_word[3] 1 line and picks the 2nd name...and so on.... it must print all the coordenates even if the names are in different positions.
for loop is wrong because it increments both variables at the same time, and it doesn't checks if the name(destination or startpoint) is on the other positions too..
NEED HELP to solve this annoying problem, plz!!

Java__EstudanteIt looks to me like you are trying to do some computations with the flightpaths while you are reading the files. Mixing stuff up like that almost always makes things harder. If you separate file i/o from whatever computations you do with the data, it will make both parts easier.
Your data looks to be in a pretty regular format, so I would create a class for an Airport that holds the name, x and y coords. Another class for the flights holds the letter, number, and both cities. As you read each line from the file, parse out each bit of info, and store it in an Airport/Flight class. Keep a list of these objects, then when you want to calculate whatever, just retrieve the needed object from the list. If you design it this way, you'll have a much better time with it. Because, no offense, but that snippet of code looks pretty rough.

2010 MBP Windows 7 Installation Loop PLEASE HELP
After months of trying to resolve this by searching on Google, I`ve decided to directly list my problem here to see if anyone is experiencing any similar problems or has a solution.
Problem: When trying to install Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro, everything was going smooth and at the words "Completing Installation..." the installation freezes and I reboot the computer, once rebooted, a message pops up
"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation."
and after clicking "OK", the computer restarts and comes back to the very same message, even after about 30+ tries. It`s an endless loop.
Note:
- I`ve had Windows 7 previously on this Mac, and it didn`t work after I uninstalled it and tried to re-install. Then I reformatted my mac and still no success.
- I`ve tried booting the disk at startup AND the Windows Partition, but both have the same problem.
- I`ve tried the "Repair" option
- Used Bootcamp Assistant to partition the disk, have tried deleting the partition and remaking a new one, still the same problem
- It`s definitely not the disk itself
- I`ve tried reinstalling multiple times and even waiting 8+ hours at "Completing Installation..." (the part where it normally freezes) no signs of change.
- Windows 7 32bit home edition (genuine)
- Bootcamp Assistant
- 13" Macbook Pro, Mid 2010
- OS X Lion 10.7.3
- Graphics: NIVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
- Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
- Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Different software can produce very different charge life times, Iamtheone. It may simply relate to different demands placed on processor and HD use by the software you are using under bootcamp when compared to the software being used under OSX. Perhaps it is even simply a measure of the different operating efficiency (power wise) of Windows and OSX 10.6?
What software are you typically using when running bootcamp?

Refining "if" loop some help is needed
