Loops dissapeared

Hi
My Loops dissapeared from my browser, I guess I must of clicked on something without realising what the consequences were/are (LOL). When I click on the Loop browser it just tells me it can't find them and asks me to re-install them!
I (of course) can see them in my audio folder (home/library/audio/apple loops .... and all the other stuff apple loops index etc) so I assume you don't need to re-install. However, how do I get them back into my Garage band - and later I hope into Logic which is what I more often use.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. i'm still on Tiger and so using 3.0.4. But that shouldn't make a big difference.

    All of my garageband loops are gone. All the drums, synths, basses, everything is not there. Only the iMovie ones are there. Help!

    Hi,
    Look in:
    /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/
    or:
    user/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/
    There is a folder labeled: "Apple Loops".
    Your loops should be in there.
    Assuming that they're there, try this:
    Do a search for this folder: "Apple Loops Index".
    There will likely be more than one, although only one folder probably has all your Indexed Loops.
    So, when you find the one with the "Search Index..." files, delete them.
    Then, open a project in GarageBand, open the Loops Browser, and drag that Loops folder onto the Loops Browser.
    Wait for it to index them, and you should be good to go.

    Hi BobGus
    Great, it worked straight away - and it sorted out the loops in Garageband also?????!!!!!
    Normally they'd be found in the Garageband folder inLibrary/Application Support/etc so there must be something there about the order you (re) install loops...... mmm Interesting. I guess, which nobody here seems to have noticed, or been able to explain, that there must be a hierachy in the file system somwhere. When you install and run Logic on your system it uses the same Apple Loops as GB, but changes their placement in the Libray, storing them in a new (and neutral) directory 'library/audio/apple loops' and NOT in Garageband.
    Well I hope if anyone else has the same problem they'll notice this posting. Big thanks again BobGus.

  • Missing Apple Loops

    I clicked by mistake the reindex option in the Media > Loops window and all of my loops dissapeared!!
    I tried to bringthem back from their original position my dragging and droping their folder to the Loops window but nothing...
    Any help ?

    Probably your loop browser is now set to only show user loops, of which you probably have none. Set it back to show all.

  • HA on WLC 5500 - setting username loop

    Hello everyone!
    My bckup WLC controler seems to stumble in the setting of authentication phase. A week ago I actualy successfully implemented and tested HA scenario with two 5500 controllers (one of them with the HA SKU code). Both of them were upgraded to 7.4.100 version, but today the bckup controller has gone insane! The HA sceanrio was broken down and the bckup controller loops in "Enter credentials" loop forever!
    It doesn't matter what I enter, how many signs, it just loops endlessly... I bolded the console output underneath... The catch is that it doesn't matter what I put in it yust ignores the input and asks me for credentals again!
    Here's some of the output....

    I found a solution to my problem, so I thought I can share it with the community....
    I enterted the boot loader menu at startup and changed the primary image to a backup and erased the config. Restart

  • Audio-midi loops

    we use to have in the audio loop browser a ton of audio- midi loops the ones with the green icons . did they dissapeared??? I dindt see them
    thanks

    No they haven't dissappeared. Maybe you should set the Loop Browser view to "All" to see all the Loops available-if the green loops still don't show up something went wrong during Installation.

  • Dvd causes finder to go into a loop cycle

    This is hard to explain. I record a teaching to a Panasonic DVD recorder, and then digitize it using DVDxDV. For some reason, when the DVD loads it begins to cause the Finder to cycle in a loop from one program to another. Everything works, but you have to catch the program your in from cycle to cycle.
    Any guesses? Is this a mac issue? I'm thinking there is something with the way the DVD is being burned and the way it is read by the Mac Finder. I tried turning off auto loading in DVD player in the system preferences, but it doesn't change anything.

    Well, I updated to TIger 10.4.6 and the problem has dissapeared. Guess you just have to roll with the OS bugs that Apple leaves in until latter updates.

  • Embedded fonts dissapear (a bit complicated, read on...)

    This is the actual case:
    There is an SWF which contains just a font to be used by many other SWFs, it is here:
    ./SharedRessources/ComicFont.swf
    Then there is one SWF which imports this font for runtime use:
    ./Selector/Selector.swf
    And another one which also imports this font for runtime use:
    ./Menu/Menu.swf
    They both import the font "for runtime use" and this, relative path: "../SharedRessources/ComicFont.swf".
    This works for both Selector.swf and Menu.swf quite well. The font is displayed correctly.
    BUT now there is this one:
    ./Everything/Everything.swf
    This one loads Selector.swf and Menu.swf BOTH. The result is: The embedded font dissapears!
    The funny thing: If I only load ONE of them, the font is visible.
    So: Having 2 SWFs loaded simultaneously which make use of a font which is "shared for runtime use" destroys it for both.
    Anyone encountered this problem yet? Any simple workarounds? The not-so-simple workaround would be to do it all directly via Actionscript and letting the Container hold all the ressources. But this would just be very comfortable.
    OR could this even be filed as a bug?

    After fiddeling around with the code, I actually found a solution:
    The Font is embedded as a class, "ComicFont". So using the Loader class the usual way to load more than one module that uses this Font will cause the ComicFont class to be overwritten (and thus lost to the module loaded before)
    I ran a test like this for every module loaded:
    for each (li:LoaderInfo in loaderInfos) { // for simplicity: Imagine I have all LoaderInfos of all loaded submodules here
      trace ("Has class ComicFont? "+li.hasDefinition('ComicFont'));
    Doing it the nomal, lazy way, this would output:
    Has class ComicFont? false
    Has class ComicFont? false
    Has class ComicFont? false
    Has class ComicFont? true
    So it seems just the last module actually contained the ComicFont class. No wonder the font disappeared for all the other modules.
    The "trick" was to set the applicationDomain inside the Loader:
    var ld:Loader = new Loader();
    var context:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext();
    context.applicationDomain = ApplicationDomain.currentDomain;
    ld.load(new URLRequest(swfName), context);
    Now the fonts appear in every module and the output of the loop above is:
    Has class ComicFont? true
    Has class ComicFont? true
    Has class ComicFont? true
    Has class ComicFont? true
    I hope this could help someone...

  • Stop(); not working. Movie clip is looping.(AS2)

    I have made a movie clip that needs to play till the last frame and then stop there, but not dissapear. Right now, as I am putting the command stop(); on the first frame of the movie clip and on the last frame too, nothing is changing, the movie clip is still looping and does not stop at all.
    What could be the problem?
    p.s. I am really a beginner in Adobe Flash.

    Can you show a screenshot of the timeline and where the stop() command are placed?  If stop(); is the only code you are using then it sounds like you are putting the code in the wrong place.

  • Trouble installing mavericks: MacMini into a loop

    Hi to everybody. When installing IOS Mavericks, the message "not enough disk space, cannot constinue installation" (it's a real novice mistake for my part, I know...). And now, every time I turn on my MacMini, a loop starts with the install application, and I cannot neither exit the installation app nor enter my hard disk to free some space and let installation begins. I have tried to turn on the computer in safe mode, with an usb, have tried to install Mavericks from a usb, have tried to delete a couple of files to free some space using Terminal, or erase and format the hard disk assuming that I'll loose every file I have... and nothing works. Moreover, "su" and "sudo" terminal commands aparently have dissapeared...
    What can I do to solve it?
    Thanks in advance.

    What backups do you have?

  • Loop recording

    When I do a loop recording in a software track (drums) only the new recorded notes are played and displayed.So when I add notes they replace the original notes.According to the manuals and help files you should be able to just add notes to an excisting recording.Does anyone know how it can be that the original notes dissapear every time I add a few notes?Thanks for any advise.

    As Scott said, once you put it in record mode it will add notes on subsequent looped passes. Do not stop recording until you have added all you want in that section. Once you press Play or Stop, it will no longer add notes, but will record over any notes pre-existing in the location. A workaround would be to create an additional track using the same instrument. You can merge the contents of the two (or more) tracks by selecting the regions and choosing "Join" from the "Edit" menu. Note that it will combine them into the bottom track of the ones you have selected.
    Hope this helps,

  • New Powerbook Audio Stutter / Looping / Echo problem

    I though people would like to hear the problem that some of the 15" and 17" powerbooks have been having.
    I tried recording the sound from iTunes using Audio Hijack, but when the weird audio issue happened and I played back the recording, you couldn't hear it in the recording (i.e. it played normally), so it seems to me that it's related to some basic audio issue (because Audio Hijack couldn't hear it when it was recording iTunes) rather than a specific application.
    I was able to record the sound using a cable from my powerbook to another computer (which then recorded the line-in using Audio Hijack).
    Here's a short quicktime capture of the sound:
    http://s89317810.onlinehome.us/AudioStuttering.mov
    Has anyone heard anything about a fix? It doesn't seem to be related to Airport use for me since I don't often use Airport at home.

    Hey guys (first post
    I own the PowerBook G4 high res model and I've noticed this 'echo' effect when listening to my iTunes. I remember creating another account for my sister and from what I've heard so far, her sound did not stutter.
    Although unrelated, my system sounds did not work after some time (emptying bin, copy paste sounds etc.) even though in System preferences the option for such sounds was checked.
    I've come from the Windows world and with the normallity of formatting that computer, I decided to format my Mac for other reasons aside (with the included discs) and to my suprise the stutter/echoing problem has seemed to dissapear on my primary account. It's been 3 days since the install and I've been listening to garageband files, midi, iTunes, internet streaming, DVD viewing all of which the sound did not stall/loop.
    In terms of a corrupted file, it seems plausable that this may be the case.
    Cheers
    Anthony

  • External SWF dissapears afte sometime

    Hi There!
    I have a preloader to preload a SWf file, everything works fine, except, when I run html file on any browser, external swf file dissapears after 1-2 minutes,
    basically, I put preloader (swf file), on html code, and preload the external swf.
    this is the code:
    import flash.geom.*
    import flash.display.*
    var loadurl:String = "external.swf";
    var nDepth:Number = 0;
    var nWidth:Number = 200;
    var nHeight:Number = 20;
    var cLoader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
    var oListener:Object = {onLoadInit:onContentLoaded};
    var mcLoader:MovieClip = this.createEmptyMovieClip("Loader_MC", 0);
    var mcContent:MovieClip = this.createEmptyMovieClip("Content_MC", 1);
    var cMatrix:Matrix = new Matrix();
    cLoader.addListener(oListener);
    txtPercLoad = mcLoader.createTextField("PercLoad_TXT", nDepth++, 0, 0, nWidth, nHeight);
    mcContent._alpha = 0;
    mcContent._lockroot = true;
    mcLoader._x = Stage.width/2 - mcLoader._width/2;
    mcLoader._y = Stage.height/2 - mcLoader._height/2;
    txtPercLoad._x = mcLoader._width/2 - txtPercLoad._width/2;
    txtPercLoad._y = mcLoader._height/2 - txtPercLoad._height/2;
    cLoader.loadClip(loadurl, mcContent);
    _root.onEnterFrame = function()
       var nBytesLoaded:Number = mcContent.getBytesLoaded();
       var nBytesTotal:Number = mcContent.getBytesTotal();
       var nPercLoaded:Number = Math.round(nBytesLoaded / nBytesTotal * 100);
       if(nPercLoaded > 0)
          SetTextFormat(txtPercLoad, nPercLoaded.toString() + "%");
    function onContentLoaded(Void):Void

       delete cLoader;
       _root.onEnterFrame = function()
          //trace(_root + "::onContentLoaded::_root.onEnterFrame");
          var nInc:Number = 5;
          mcLoader._alpha -= nInc;
          mcContent._alpha += nInc;
          if(mcLoader._alpha <= 100) {mcLoader.removeMovieClip();};
    function SetTextFormat(txtField:TextField, sText:String)
       var txtFmt:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
       sText = "Loading Content " + sText;
       txtFmt.font = "Arial";
       txtFmt.align = "center";
       txtFmt.size = 12;
       txtFmt.color = 0xff0000;
       //txtFmt.bold = true;
       txtField.selectable = false;
       txtField.text = sText;
       txtField.setTextFormat(txtFmt);
       txtFmt = null;
    Please let me know what I am doing wrong? thanks in advance

    If you keep an eye on the value of mcContent._alpha, you'll see that because you never shut off that second onEnterFrame function, the _alpha property continues to go up until it reaches a maximum and then flips negative, which means it goes invisible.  I confirmed this with running your code.
    I don't know what the limit is.  In Actionscript, when a number limit is reached it is common for it to advance to its opposite limit - basically a looped numeric system.
