Loops in Logic Studio, but missing otherwise...
I see the Apple Loops Utility has been problematic for people...but i haven't seen this issue specifically:
I have created an Apple Loop (several actually) in my Logic project. I can load them from DIFFERENT Logic projects, but if i go to the folder where the loops are SUPPOSED to be there is nothing there. The folder even says that it was recently updated, if i make a new loop, the time and date is correct, but the folder is empty. The Apple Loops Utility doesn't see these loops, but Logic does. This is messed up. How am i supposed to share my loops with my bandmate?

The best thing to doo is go to the various "Apple Loops Index" folders, remove all the index files that are in there and then reindex your loops by dragging them into the loop Browser. The index files will then be rebuilt.

Can't see Jam Pack Loops in Logic Studio Browser
I have searched many other forums but can't find the same problem. Usually it relates to a separate disk for loops.
I have Garageband and 4 Jam packs installed on my computer (Dual G5 latest OSX up to date). Jam pack 1, Rhythm Section, Symphony Orchestra and something else... anyway I purchased Logic Studio (8) and installed that. During installation I noticed that it detected that I already had some of the Jam Pack loops on my drive so they were "unchecked" automatically and therefore didn't install. Now when I look in the loop browser only the Jam Packs that Logic did install are viewable in my loop browser. Yet the other jam packs are indeed viewable in Garageband. All of this is installed on a single internal drive that is the system drive (500GB) by the way. So I dragged the Jam Pack folders to the logic loop browser and it appeared to be adding the loops, but they are still not visible there.
Also, there is no dialogue box that appears to ask if I want to copy them or leave in current location as many other users have said it should ask. maybe that's because it's all on one drive though.
The other concern is that I wonder if the software instruments that come with the jam packs would be installed/available in Logic? Surely not, if I am just adding the loops to the browser. How do I ensure that I have access to all of the loops and all of the software instruments?

Manually Index Apple Loops in Logic Studio?
I've been using Puremagnetik (www.puremagnetik.com) Apple loops for quite a while now and they all worked fine until I installed Logic Studio. Now the browser doesn't see them. Is there a way manually "force" index the Apple Loop Browser? I remember in Logic 7 there was a way to do this, but I don't see it here.

Installing logic studio on separate harddisk.
hello i am considering to buy logic studio, but i havent got enough diskspace on my macbook pro.
- is it possible to install only the 7 gigs of programs,(then i will end up having 20 gigs on my laptop, is that good enough??? (performancewise))
- and then install the rest of the 39 gigs on a separate 800FW hardisk directly. someone told me i had to install everything to my laptop first and then move the files over to a separate harddisk, is that so? hope not!!

Hey SC, I keep seeing you posting this, but I've had a different experience. I did end up installing the Jam Packs to my internal drive on my MBP, but even though I did, the option to install on my external was there and available for me to choose. Also, I did decide to install the 20gb of Soundtrack Pro content to my external through the installer, and it worked just fine.
teupkasa - my advice is to try it out and see if it works for you. As stated above, my installer allowed me the option to install content on an external, and some of it I did. If it turns out that your installer doesn't allow you to do this, you can install just programs on your HD, and then use a program called Pacifist to extract the content from the installers and put it wherever you want it to be.

Can you get a new serial number for Logic Studio?
so i just bought Logic Studio from a friend and i successfully installed it onto my mid 2012 13-inch MacBook Pro (entry level). Problem is that after the software was installed, i opened one of the applications that came with the bundle (Logic Pro) and it requested me to enter my serial number. I typed the right one and it didnt let me in. I tried to do that with all the other applications that came with Logic Studio but none of the apps let me in even though i tried more than a bunch of times.
So my question is: can you get a NEW serial number?
if not, then is there another solution that wont require me to download hack files?

What is the best external drive to use with logic studio?
I want to get Logic studio, but don't have enough hard drive space on my 2009 IMac, running Snow Leopard. What is the best, most efficient, external hard drive for this purpose?
What you want to look for is not so much a fast drive, although that is desirable, but a seperate buss to run it from. What i/o do you have on your iMac?

Need to make space in my Hard drive to install Logic Studio Upgrade
ok. Here's my problem:
I have a 1st generation Mac Book Pro. That means 100Gb of storage.
I've been using it for professional audio recording since then with Logic Pro (6 or 7 I think) and I made necessary upgrades when they were available in both Mac book and Logic. So, now my Mac has 2.16 GHz processor, 2GB memory RAM and is running Mac OS X 10.6.3
When it comes to Logic, I am in Logic 8, trying to make the last upgrade of Logic Studio but looks like there's no more space available on my laptop. At this point, I moved any other data that I don't need. My Hard drive is almost full of a data that most of it supposedly needs to be replaced or skipped. I'm talking about additional content of audio coming on Jam Pack, etc... The installation program allow me to put some of the data in other hard drives (about 22.68 GB) but still is not enough.
Is there any way to solve this? May be uninstalling programs and data that later will be installed again with my upgrade? I don't want to make a mess before asking.
Probably is time to get a new computer. If this is the only option please somebody tell me! but if is not, I refuse to spend the money. My laptop is working fine...

FranWell, first i would decide what you need the computer for. If you use iPhoto and iTunes, maybe moving the libraries to external HD may free up a significant amount of HD space.
Also, look for apps you don't need anymore, look for ancient data that can be zipped&archived away. That's a lot of work, but is worth the time, because you get to know what really is on your HD. I have so many small apps&tools lying around on my HD clogging space, but in fact i only used them once or twice in a lifetime, so better delete them.
BTW: Make sure you have enough space on your HD not only to install Logic studio but have some extra GB's for the OS to shuffle data around. No OS likes a full HD.
My strong suggestion would to give your Macbook to a trustworthy Mac store where they install a bigger HD and copy everything over to the new one.

I've recently performed a clean install of Mavericks on my MBP. I then attempted to install Logic Studio but was met with the error message "You can't open the application "LogicStudio.mpkg" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." Mavericks was installed as an upgrade prior to the clean install, and at that time Logic Studio functioned normally. Any suggestions?

There is a bug in the installer program of Logic that makes Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks think that it is PowerPC.
Best solution would have been to install Logic BEFORE you upgraded to Mavericks, but before you backup, wipe and start all over, try to use Pacifist to install it and please report back.

I am looking to remotely deploy Logic studio (including additional content). We have Mac OS-X server running with PackageMaker and Apple Remote Desktop 3.5. I have managed to make a package to deploy the standard package for Logic Studio, but I am unsure how to create a package to include the additional content and also pre-fill the licence key. Does anyone have a guide which may be of use? I am relatively new to macs, especially the server side, and could do with some advice. the logical process seems quite different to the before and after snap shots used with msi creation.

SiThe standard packages are not the problem (well, meaning: it is technically possible to deploy them), but the serial number is stored in a machine specific. You need a Logic Studio Volume License for deployment to several machines.

How do I get the Korg NanoKontrol to work with Logic Studio?
I just bought a Korg NanoKontrol control surface to use with Logic Studio but it isn't working right. I can get the faders and pan to work in one scene but the transport controls don't work in any scene. If anyone knows anything about how to get it to work please let me know.

Anyway, if you loose settings minutes after they worked, I would say the hardware may be shaky. Or the cabling. Or the operators' skills.
Ambient8 has gracefully and concisely pointed the way, and if something is not working just describe what and how it is, instead of complaining (on somebody else's thread) to people who voluntarily try to offer help & solutions.

Registering Logic Studio on multiple computers.
I'm interested in purchasing Logic Studio but am worried that if I do and install it on my Macbook that I won't be able to later install it on a Mac Pro(another future purchase). It states, in part "2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions. A. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on one Apple-labeled desktop computer and one Apple-labeled laptop computer so long as both computers are owned and used by you. Triggering loops in sequence in logic studio 9
I've been wanting to trigger a sequence of different sounds/loops in logic using just a single pad for playing live.
Is there a way of programming with Exs24 or Ultrabeat or otherwise a bunch of sounds so that once one is played the next time the pad is hit the next loop/soundfile loads in and is triggered and so on.

Yes it is a good idea JG - I was thinking the same as you at first but reading the second condition of the OP "the next time the pad is hit the next loop/soundfile loads in and is triggered and so on" so it will not be possible using Touch Tracks only ( probably with some additional environment gear ). The other condition is that he uses one and same note as a triggering pad, while using Touch Tracks you need to map each midi region or event to different triggering note etc. The other inconvenience of the Touch Tracks is that Logic must run...
My tool is a small step sequencer where you use same pad/note as a trigger. Each time you hit the trigger the step sequencer moves to the next step i.e next note sample etc does not matter if Logic is running or not. Probably you must try it and see what the difference between it and the Touch Tracks.

I'm not having a good experience with the bundled WinProducer2 that came with my MX440VT8x-128. If I have either of the versions of the nVidia capture-drivers that came on the card's CD (that's v. 1.16 or 1.18) installed, or the 1.22 version from nV
