Loops to complete 09?

Hi, There are loops missing from my GarageBand setup. In the past I downloaded these from the apple site as they were not included on the original installation disc. I've since had a hard drive crash, had to reinstall 09 but now can't find where I downloaded them. Help?

Usually you get them off the DVD install disc 2. Downloads from the site are apparently rarely successful.

I have a question around the detailed usage of Workflow WS14000044: Completion workflow.
Here is my case:
A requisitioner creates a SC with complete items from catalog and also incomplete one's in free text (because not in his catalogs)
The approval will be a line item cost center approval (n-level line item implemented via BADI).
However prior to this cost center approvals, a purchaser needs to be involved for the incomplete lines being:
- free text
- no price
the reason is that the purchaser has more extended catalogs and will replace some free texts by catalog items not accessible by the requisitioner
or will give a price estimation to be able to have a more accurate cost center approval (which is multilevel and based on the value of the item line).
Then my idea was to use the completion workflow for it.
But my question is as when going to the purchaser this one is not replacing necessarily all the free-texts, then the user receive the changes and validate them and then the standard start conditions of this workflow that include free text evaluation will retrigger this workflow again and again and again.
1)Is this correct?
2) If not why?
3) And what must be the starting condition of the completion workflow and n-level approval workflow to avoid the loop?

1)For the incomplete item flag, you said "This flag is false as soon as you get out of the completion WF." is that always the case or is it only when the Purchaser as set a price?
2) In summary free text item condition for the Completion Workflow is only usefull if you are sure to convert all lines to Catalog items. Correct?
3) Coming to you proposition you loose then the possibility to approve your changes by the user like in completion workflow? Or how do you set-up the n-level approval workflow to have the requisitioner himself involved?
4) Can somebody help to find the FM to find the purchaser of the corresponding PGr?
5) How can I handle in the n-step approval workflow step if I have a purchasing Group with more than 1 purchaser?

Deadline loop not completed

Hi,
I've created a deadline work item for latest start.
In the deadline branch, I created a loop for sending mails at a specified intervals. and I created a wait step before each loop pass and when the condition reached, the loop will go for next iteration or it should end.
When the actual work item is completed this deadline branch is ending with error saying that
FINALIZE : Error at an end of UNTIL Loop.
FIND_NEXT_NODES_IF : Error when defining successor for node <Node number of the until loop>
which I guess it's trying to find the next loop pass but at that time the actual work item is finished so it's ending with error.
my question is why this wait step is not logically deleted when the work item is completed ?
any idea ?

This is what I've done.
I copied the RFQ Release Workflow WS20000080.
I want to add a dead line monitoring so that if the approver is not released the RFQ for say 5 days, the system should send a mail to his supervisor. this has to be repeated until the approver releases the RFQ.
so I added a deadline step and modeled with a loop so that it'll send mail for each iteration( with a wait step inside with condition.).
once the approver (1)releases/(2)rejects/(3)changed significantly, the work item is completed, and it has to take any one of the 3 branches for further processing.
So As per your suggestion, I have to trigger three events for each branch. but the STEP TS20000175( Approve RFQ ) itself is triggering 3 events(1 for each branch). so that I can catch those events to stop my deadline loop.
This is where I end up with 4 wait steps.
I think now you are somewhat clear.

How to loop a completed "passed" assessment from Slide 1?

I have uploaded my assessment to the LMS and upon an end user passing the assessment successfully I want the user to have the opportunity to retake assessment infinitely. Captivate ends up bookmarking the last screen (Quiz Results). I want the assessment to automatically loop to Slide 1. I changed my settings in the assessment where upon Pass the slide jumps to slide 1. And for Project End options I have specified it to Loop.
None of these changes have allowed the assessment/project to automatically launch from the beginning. Instead all subsequent "launces" start or Quiz Results. I can only restart the project by clicking Rewind or Play button.
Does anyone have any viable solutions?

I do not think this will not be possible when using a project set up to report to an LMS using SCORM. As far as SCORM is concerned, once you complete the quiz and pass it, there is no need to go back and do it again unless you are intending to wipe out your previous score for a new attempt. If you have bookmarking turned on (as it appears you do) then the LMS will note where you finished your last attempt and take you to that slide. If you passed the module, then that will naturally be the final slide. Setting the Quiz Results slide navigation to jump back to the first slide will allow the user to begin viewing the content again, but unless the Retake Quiz button is used, the quiz will probably be locked. Setting project end option to loop is not something you would ever do for a SCORM quiz. It's an option more designed for use where you wanted to create a kiosk presentation that repeated over and over again without user interaction.
So I think you need to rethink your approach. If the desire is to provide some way for the user to access the same content AFTER passing the module, consider having a non-LMS-scored version available for download or viewing. At one of my clients they have PDF versions of the courses available for view from the company intranet....outside the LMS.

Stop/ abort execution in case when the task inside while loop can not be completed

I am using Count digital events example from LabVew. This VI is using DAQmx Read vi. If I press Stop button before this DAQ gets required amount of samples VI does not stop. I tried to change amount of samples on a fly with stop button but it did not work either.
Please help.

This is directly related to the way LV handle the data. Your question is similar to "How can I stop a For-Next loop before completion ?". The answer is : No way, except changing the loop for a while loop (ie: change the algorithm) or stop the whole vi.
Attached is an example of stopping an infinite running loop. It uses a parallel loop, with a Stop node (see how to handle the stop button in order to reset it to false at the next vi run).
If you only want to stop the DAQ, whithout halting everything else, the solution is trickier : you will have to run your DAQ loop in a dynamically loaded vi, then use the vi server functions to halt the vi if the run period is excessive. But that is worth another discussion...

My for loop pauses after completion of the prescribed number of loops.

I've created a FOR loop to alternate the value of an analog output between two setpoints. Since there are only 2 setpoints there need only be 2 complete 'loops'. After these two loops are complete the program pauses before continuing restarting the loop. I used the FOR loop instead of a WHILE loop because I use the value of the loop number to change the value of the output.

Maybe you are initializing DAQ before the For Loop executes or you have a Wait timer outside of your For Loop.

Can not pass data after while loop

Hello.
I have created a VI for my experiment and am having problem passing data outside a while loop to save on an excel file. The VI needs to first move a probe radially, take data at 1mm increment, then move axially, take data radially at 1mm increment, then move to the next axial position and repeat. It would then export these data to an excel file. The VI is a little complicated but it's the only way I know how to make it for our experiment. I have tested it and all the motion works correctly, however I can not get it to pass the data after the last while loop on the far right of the VI where I have put the arrows (Please see the attached VI ). Is it because I'm using too many sequence, case, and while loops? If so, what other ways can I use to make it export data to the excel file?
Any help would be appreciated.

Ummmm .... gee, I'm not even sure where to begin with this one. Your VI is well .... ummmm... You have straight wires! That's always nice to see. As for everything else. Well... Your fundamental problem is lack of understanding of dataflow programming. What you've created is a text program. It would look fantastic in C. In LabVIEW it makes my heart break. For a direct answer to your question: Data will not show up outside a while loop until the while loop has completed. This means your most likely problem is that the conditions to stop that specific loop are not being met. As for what the problem is, I don't even want to start debugging this code. Of course, one way to pass data outside of loops is with local variables, and hey, you seem to be having so much fun with those, what's one more?
This may sound harsh, and perhaps be somewhat insulting, but the brutal truth is that what I would personally do is to throw it out and to start using a good architecture like a state machine. This kind of framework is easy to code, easy to modify, and easy to debug. All qualities that your code seems to lack.

How to code a parallel 'for loop' and 'while loop' where the while loop cannot terminate until the for loop has finished?? (queues also present)

I've attached a sample VI that I just cannot figure out how to get working the way that I want. I've labeled the some sections with black-on-yellow text boxes for clarity during the description that follows in the next few sentences. Here's what I want:
1) overall -- i'm intend for this to be a subVI that will do data acquisition and write the data to a file. I want it to use a producer/consumer approach. The producer construct is the 'parallel for loop' that runs an exact number of times depending on user input (which will come from the mainVI that is not included). For now I've wired a 1-D array w/ 2 elements as a test case. During the producer loop, the data is acquired and put into a queue to be delt with in the consumer loop (for now, i just add a random number to the queue).
2) the consumer construct is the 'parallel while loop'. It will dequeue elements and write them to a file. I want this to keep running continuously and parallel until two conditions are met.
      i. the for loop has finished execution
      ii. the queue is empty.
   when the conditions are met, the while loop will exit, close the queue, and the subVI will finish. (and return stuff to mainVI that i can deal with on my own)
Here's the problems.
1) in the "parallel for loop" I have a flat sequence structure.. I haven't had time to incorporate some data dependency into these two sequential sections, but basically, I just care that the "inner while loop" condition is met before the data is collected and queued. I think I can do this on my own, but if you have suggestions, I'm interested.
2) I can easily get the outer for and while loops to run sequentially, but I want them to run in parallel. My reasoning for this is that that I anticipate the two tasks taking very different amounts of time. .. basically, I want the while loop to just keep polling the queue to get everything out of it (or I suppose I could somehow use notifiers - suggestions welcome)... the thing is, this loop will probably run faster than the for loop, so just checking to see that the queue is empty will not work... I need to meet the additional condition that nothing else will be placed in the queue - and this condition is met when the for loop is complete. basically, I just can't figure out how to do this.
3) for now, I've placed a simple stop button in the 'parallel while loop', but I must be missing something fundamental here, because the stop button is totally unresponsive. i.e. - when I press it, it stays depressed, and nothing happens.

As I've thought about it a bit more, there's a few things that surprise me... first, the reason the 'dequeue element while loop' errors is not because there's nothing in the queue, it's becaues the queue has been released and it's trying to access that released queue... However the problem I have is this --- Even though there's no timeout wired to the dequeue element, I still would think that the while loop that contains it would continue to run at whatever pace it wanted -- and as i said before.. most of the time, it would find that there is nothing to dequeue, but once in a while, something is there. however, it seems that this loop only runs when something has been enqueued. the reason I say this is illustrated in the next code sample MODv2 that's attached below. I've also added a simple conditional in the "dequeue while loop" that generates a random number if it a button is pressed... but this button is totally non-responsive... which means to me that the "dequeue while loop" isn't actually continuously running, but only when an element is added to the queue. this still seems almost like the 'dequeue while loop" waits for a notifier from the queue telling it to run. can you explain this to me? because it is different from what I expect to be happening.

Is There A Fix For The Looping PC Suite 6.84?

I can no longer use my Nokia 6280 with my PC, since I upgraded to the latest build of PC Suite. I get a looping that completely disables my computer that involves the Microsoft User-Mode Framework.
Here is my configuration -
Microsoft Windows XP Build 2600 Service Pack 2
Nokia 6280 with no firmware updates
Nokia PC Suite 6.84.10(the latest download from Nokia)
The looping starts as soon as Nokia PC suite loads on start-up. I have to shut-down the computer and reboot without loading PC suite to use my computer. Makes no difference what connection I use(cable, Bluetooth, etc)
I removed the offending PC Suite upgrade and reloaded the software from the CD that came with my phone which is Nokia PC Suite 6.6.18 and it no longer works with the phone with any connection method.
Can someone please advise on a fix?

Sorry to bother everyone since I finally found a fix.
I am using a Toshiba Satellite M60 with Window XP and the Nokia 6280. I upgraded the Toshiba BlueTooth Stack from 3.10 to 5.10.06 and the looping stopped. It was not easy getting the BT Stack update from Toshiba since they do list an updated BT Stack for the M60. I was able to use the latest BT Stack for the A200 as the upgrade path, which worked fine.

How do I get the X-Y GRID INSPECTION.VI to wait until data collection is complete before it starts moving?

I am using a PCI-7344 card with LabView to control a 3-axis servo motor motion system in conjunction with a data acquisition system. The intent is to collect data at each grid point of an X-Y grid.
Using the X-Y Grid Inspection (Template).vi as a starting point, I programmed my data acquisition vi to start when the Check Blend Complete Status.vi returned a value of TRUE. I expected the while loop to complete once the data acquisition was complete, but the system starts moving at the same time the data acquisition starts.
Is there a way to force the motion system to wait for the data acquisition to complete prior to moving to the next waypoint?

If you enter a positive value into the blend factor control (period in ms), the board will wait this amount of time until it starts the next move.
The Check for Blend Complete.flx function returns TRUE when this wait period is finished. Thus you will see the bahvior you have described.
There are three options I can think of:
1. Check the move complete status in order to start your measurement after the move has come to a stop.
This method might be not the ideal solution as you need to be sure that your measurement doesn't take longer than the wait period you have entered as blend factor. Of course you can make this period very long but then your overall test time will increase.
2. To avoid the disadvantage of 1. don't use blending at all. Instead start a
move to the desired position, wait for move complete, do your measurement and start the next move. This method makes sure that you don't waste time.
3. This might be the smartest and fastest method but there are a few additional requirements:
- The time for your measurement is fixed
- You can use an external trigger or scanclock to start your measurement.
If these requirements are met you could combine the x-y grid example with a breakpoint example.
You could program your board to generate a breakpoint (trigger) at each target position. The Breakpoint output of your 7344 is connected to the trigger or scanclock or whatever input of your measurement device. Now each time your axes reach the next target position the 7344 fires a trigger and your measurement device acquires data.

BUG?? Exeption handling brakes a Loop?! (PL/SQL executed by C) Anybody know this ????

In C program I have a PL/SQL block with WHILE LOOP. Inside the loop I have SELECT statement with a begin..end arroung it and with EXCEPTION WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND for internal block. In this exception I have no RAISE statement. So, I expect the loop will be not broken by NO_DATA_FOUND error.
After control comes to the EXCEPTION NO_DATA_FOUND the loop is not continue anymore (but error is not populated out of this begin..end.) If EXCEPTION NO_DATA_FOUND is commented by -- the loop runs completely.
Is it known bug? Does anybody get something like this?
To be more specific, my EXEC SQL EXECUTE .. END EXECUTE block looks like this:

Call the procedure from another "wrapper" procedure. In the wrapper, place the call within to your existing procedure in a

end loop;I think that'd be easier than trying to work on controlling everything from within a single procedure. You could even set up a PACKAGE where the wrapper was the only public procedure, where your current procedure is private, and thus, can't be called outside of the wrapper, by accident. --=cf

How to store a single value embedded in several loops

I have a situation where I have 3 while loops embedded inside one another and I need to pass a single value obtained from the first iteration of the central loop. I have thought of a few ways to do this, but I'm not sure which is the best or most efficient. The two ideas I have are to either use shift registers (which can get messy with 3 loops) to store the value, or to write to a local variable only once and then read it out later. Right now I'm using a combination of shift registers and auto-indexing, and finding the first value after the loops have completed. It works, but it doesn't seem very elegant. I'd love to hear some new suggestions or some thoughts about using local variables vs. shift registers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not really that messy . let's assume that the innermost loop sees all iteration (i.e. is not inside a case structure), all you need in an unintialized shift register in the innermost loop as e.g. shown in the figure.
