Loops won't play

Hi
In Logic Express 7, none of my loops in the loop browser will play and they will not play when i drag them into the arrange window either.
Any help?

Well, it can be lots of things then. I suggest first running the Logic Setup Assistant. It's in the preferences submenu of the Logic Express application menu.

  • Most of the Soundtrack Loops Won't Play! HELP!

Hello everyone. I just got my new macbook pro in today and I started up soundtrack. I tried playing some loops but they are mostly all the color red and won't play. They are .aiff files and they are all red! Help! Is this problem a software problem or what? Because, this is sort of scaring me, I can't play the music! Help please!

Open the Terminal.app application (located in /Applications/Utilities/). At the command prompt, enter the following text and then press return to run it (you may want to copy and paste the text):
         ls -la /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/Resources/Base.lproj/
It should print out something like the following:

  • GIF won't play in design mode, but previews fine... any ideas?

My animated gif loops in browser preview, but only plays on the stage when i move it around.  If I leave it selected without moving, it sits there frozen.  Any ideas why my gif won't play properly in design mode?  Thanks!

Thank you for confirmation that that is how things should work.  I'm new to
the program and following some Lynda tutorials to get up to speed.  My most
recent lesson included the gif in exercise files, and everything seems to
function both in Photoshop and the browser.  Even in edge design mode, if I
press on the gif and move it around, it plays and loops fine.  But as soon
as I stop moving the gif, it returns to first frame and stays stuck there.
Whether selected or not, it just sits there frozen.  If I switch
applications and come back to edge, I catch a glimpse of other frames, as
if the gif was playing in the background.  But then it stops again, kind of
like a watched pot   The behavior seemed glitchy to me, but I thought I
might be missing a setting somewhere.  I'll try with other gifs, I guess..
    Thanks again!

  • I upgraded my iPod Touch 4th Gen yesterday.  Now it won't play music, which is the main thing I use it for.  Over 11,000 songs [it's a 64GB model] -- will I actually have to restore the device and re-add all that music?

I upgraded my iPod Touch 4th Gen yesterday.  Now it won't play music, which is the main thing I use it for.  Over 11,000 songs [it's a 64GB model] -- will I actually have to restore the device and re-add all that music?
[Music files are still there, and I can play them on my computer directly from the iPod [just one track at a time] but not in the usual way, through headphones.]
On the Summary page of iTunes for the iPod, it shows 50-plus gigabytes of "Other" content and no music, which was not previously the case.  I assume this is related to the problem.
I can bring up individual tracks on the iPod and see cover art, but cannot play the music.

iCloud is free, iTunes match is $25 a year.
I had the same problem and when I went to Settings I had 0 songs, even though they were obviously still there since I only had 15GB free on my 64GB device.
I decided to do a complete reset/restore of my 4th gen iPod Touch, Bad move! I've been messing with it for hours, and it simply won't restore--it keeps hanging on a black screen with an Apple logo and a progress bar at about 10%, sometimes it goes completely blank and tries again, with the same result. (I've posted my question/plea for help here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19735862 )
I'm ready to bang my head against the wall! I can put the device in recovery mode, connect to iTunes on my computer, and get it back to the setup screen, but when I go through the process again and try to do an iCloud backup I get the same reset/restore loop.
I could start from scratch, but I really, really, really don't want to go through all of my hundreds of apps, reinstall them one by one, etc. etc. etc.
I thought that once I started using iCloud, I didn't need to sync with iTunes anymore--guess I was wrong.

  • HT1338 imovie keeps quiting and now it won't play my projects

I think I deleted something I wasn't suppose to. I tried clearing space on my hard drive by deleting past events in my imovie folder. Now imovie quits unexpectedly and it won't play my projects. I try play one full screen and I just get a black screen. I also when get out of imovie and go back it won't open my project, but it'll open others?

    Welcome to AD!
That authorization loop is annoying, isn't it? It's happened to quite a few folks.
Here are some steps to try.
    1. Deauthorize, then reauthorize your PC
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
Sign out and sign back into the store to authorize all the accounts, even that old one from 2 years ago that you forgot about.
    2. Delete the SC Info folder. The _entire folder_, not just the file. It will get rebuilt the next time you start iTunes. Don't forget to _restart your PC_, as the article says.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
    3. Get a free single of the week, which has the latest DRM on it, and play a few seconds of it. This sometimes will present a new terms of service you need to agree to.
Something else that has been suggested, is to delete one of these problem tracks but DO NOT SEND IT TO THE RECYCLE bin. Then re-add it to Itunes and see if it will play. Just do one track to check this out. Nobody has ever posted back to tell me whether this works.
If you still can't get purchases to play, contact iTS support.
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/authorization/
There is a Contact Us button on that page.

  • Audition CS5.5 won't play

    MacBook Pro 17"
    2.2GHz Intel Core i7
    8Gb RAM
Audition was working nicely.  Now over the past 2 weeks, it won't play anything.  I've tried MP3 files, WAVs, audio exported from Premiere....nothing is working.
    Help!!!

Why is it silly that the record and playback sample rate have to match?  If you think about it, when you're recording, the sound you're listening to is looped through your sound interface.  If the rates don't match, it'll stop working because from your description, you're probably using something like a simple Realtek which can only do one thing at a time.
Really, the inbuilt sound cards on most computers are NOT designed for any serious recording--they're far more suitable just for watching Youtube or making Skype calls.  However, you CAN use it if your really must--but it'll get confused trying to handle two sample rates at once.
It's not anything silly in Audition--it's a limitation of your sound card and operating system.

  • Timeline won't play video but scrubs fine CS4

I don't know what I did, but the timeline won't play the video now in CS4, only the audio.  It scrubs ok.
I cleaned the cache. I tried the loop button, opening another saved project, and starting a new one.
Priemiere Elements works ok.  I'm not sure what I did, nor what else to try to resolve this..
Anyone familiar with this and know the solution?

  • Quicktime 7.1.3 won't play .mov or .swf inserted in powerpoint

I have been using Quicktime in ppt for sometime and it always played video loops fine. I upgraded to 7.1.3 and I have all kinds of problems. I have gone under the Quicktime preferences and MIME files and activated video and miscellanous types. Once I close the window though it reverts back to default and I can no longer open mov or swf. Is there a way to save these changes? Secondly when I insert a movie into ppt now it does not work. If I just open the file using Quicktime it works but not when embedded in ppt. I have reinstalled Quicktime 7.0.4 and the movies work fine. The other problem I have is that I upgraded to iTunes 7 and it requires 7.1.3 so when I remove 7.1.3 I can't use any of the video features of iTunes. Does anybody have any work arounds. Very, Very frustrated In South Dakota

    Quicktime Kirk,
I have downloaded another persons inquiry because it is exactly the problem I am having. Here is his post
"I make movies of cells and convert them to quick time and insert them into powerpoint for presentations for conferences. I never had a problem with this until I upgraded to office 2004 and now many (but not all) of my movies won't play. They seem to be there but when I click play they go white as though there is only the first image. I had saved them as cinepak and or jpeg A usually with image J or older ones from the original NIH image and I can't figure out what the problem is. I even upgraded to quicktime pro to resave them as self contained but still they don't work when I insert them. I can play them all with quicktime player and when I make new ones now in image j I save them as video and that seems to work but it would be very difficult to go back and do that with everything. Does anyone know why or how to fix this?"
My additional comments would be I used the Sample_iTunes.mov from QT and it plays like a champ in PPT. My movies are all from 2004. When I save them in the QT 7.1.3 it doesn't seem to make any difference. The older movies insert into PPT as a QT icon with 4 color quadriant. Everything including .swf are now working in QT. Thanks for your help. When I go back to 7.0.3 they work but then I can't play my videos in iTunes unless I do an erase and a reinstall to get rid of the updated iTunes. Thanks
    Chris

  • Movie won't play in Safari in 10.6, will in FireFox and earlier Mac OS

I am updating some web pages and I discovered that on my system running 10.6 a QuickTime movie embedded into the page won't play in Safari. The movie plays if the movie's URL is entered, but it won't play in the page, though another movie on another page plays fine. On the same computer the problem movie page works fine in FireFox.
    The HTML is simple...
    <embed src="Round-Robin-224px_200kbs.mov" width="224" height="235" autostart="true" loop="true" controller="false" id="looper" name="looper"></embed>
The web address of this page is http://www.automaticduck.com/products/
Any suggestions for getting this movie to play in the page in Safari?

    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/media2/eu.mov
The file was made in 2003 (back when QuickTime Player supported Flash tracks).
Since QuickTime 7.3.1 support for .swf tracks has been dropped do to security concerns.
The file will not play in QuickTime X or QuickTime Player 7.3.1, or higher. I viewed it on my Snow Leopard machine using an older copy of QuickTime 6.5.2 (and Rosseta).

  • Why won't my imovie won't play on site?

I'm wondering what could cause my imovie (Quicktime) not to play on my site. I see the play bar but it won't play. Also, how do I get it to play automatically? I read the instructions but I have my site published on a private server and also when I went to the Go menu-idisk..etc.. and called up my site's file and js (?) it said there was an error and I couldn't open it to edit. Can I edit the html in text edit and then just save the folder again?

Check your server files and make sure the movie actually uploaded; the controller could be there without the movie itself.
The html editing is basically the same, whether it's hosted on your iDisk or a remote server. In your case, navigate to the .js files for that particular page using any text editor (I like Taco, and it's free) and make the following changes to the script code that controls your movie: (you will find the movie code near the top of the page in the .js file)
    Change autoplay="false" to autoplay="true"
    Change loop="false" to loop="true"
Changing controller value="true" to controller value="false" will remove the controller from the page entirely. Make these changes in both sets of tags, (object and embed).
Make the changes and just "Save". (Now would be a good time to duplicate the modified .js file so you don't have to do this again the next time you make updates to that page.)
Now upload these changed files to your server, clear your browser cache and you should see the changes.
    Mark

  • Have copied Itunes to reboot my PC and now it won't play my purchased items

    Hi
I hope someone can help with this. I had to reboot my PC, so copied my Itunes onto a memory stick, then later reloaded it back on. Everything is fine except that my purchased items won't play, or load onto my Ipod. When I click on one it says that the PC is not authorized to play it, so I enter my password, and it contacts the store, and then tells me that 'This computer is already authorized'. But the track won't play..?
I'm guessing I've done something wrong, but don't know what. Is there any way of retrieving these files or are they lost?
    Thank you!!

    Welcome to AD!
That authorization loop is annoying, isn't it? It's happened to quite a few folks.
Here are some steps to try.
    1. Deauthorize, then reauthorize your PC

  • HT2499 Won't play commercial DVD.

MacBook Pro with 10.6.8 won't play some commercial DVDs. Just inserted "The Double" straight from RedBox and the drive gets caught in a search loop and won't recognize the disc. Was very hard to finally eject the disc. Restarting the computer does nothing

Although this disc worked in DVD player, I've now discovered it won't play in 2 other players. So, I believe I have a "disc problem" and not a MacBook problem.  Other DVDs do work in my Mac, so I dont suspect a dirty lens, but I will seek out a lens cleaner.
    Thanks.

  • IPhone 5s Voice memo to mp3. Now music on iPhone. Won't play from search function.

I record my band rehearsals using the voice memo on my iPhone 5s. Then I sync to iTunes and convert file to mp3. When i sync back to my iPhone it appears in my music. So far, so good. When I use the search function in music it finds the file but won't play from tapping. I must troll through all my music songs (currently 2227 of them) to find it and then play it. Is it something to do with it still being under the genre "voice memos" or what ?  Anybody help please.  Thanks

  • When leave I nano 4th gen connected to either of my cars it no longer restarts playing when car is restarted. Instead it shows 'no entry' in the song title on the car audio display and won't play until disconnected and reconnected.

Nano has worked fine for a couple of years being left connected to either one of our cars. However, every time car is restarted it won't play without being disconnected and reconnected. I have done a full restore.
Current cars are Range Rover Sport 2011 and Jaguar XK 2011.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks,

I had a similar problem. Try resetting and erasing the phone and restoring from a known good backup.
