Loose session between requests

We are using WLS 6.0 with the Apache web server. Our initial page comes up
and we store some information in the session. We enter user name password
press sign in and the servlet looks in the session and it is empty. I have
dumped the session and it is completly empty plus the session Id is not
different so some in the chain thinks this is a new user and has created a
new session object. This does not happen when we go in to the WLS http port,
only on port 80 for Apache.
Thanks in advance for the help

Hi Satish,
We are working on the same sort of scenarios, where we have to call more than one webservice in a sequential fashion using the same session id details.
What we did was we built new xsds adding session details node using the webserive request and response xsds. And we are maintaining a sessions table which contains session id and  status fields in PI. So we send webservice request with the session id details. We wrote an UDF to get the session details from PI and set the status field as busy so that no other request uses the same session details.
Webserive response again contains the sessions details which can be used for the next webservice request.
Finally after all the calls set back the status to Active in PI table.

  • How to share Sessions between 2 Weblogic ?

    Hello,
I've some problems in setting on Weblogic. Suppose there are 2
Weblogic Servers, WebA and WebB. A New Session will be created if user
go to the page in WebB from WebA. Is there any methods to share the
Session between them ? I turned on the following properties in
    Weblogic.properties already.
    weblogic.httpd.session.persistence=true
    weblogic.httpd.session.persistentStoreType=jdbc
    weblogic.httpd.session.persistentStorePool=demoPool
    weblogic.httpd.session.persistentStoreShared=true
But a new entry will be created as long as user go to the page at WebB
    from WebA.
In fact, I want to use the Session entry created by WebA.
    Thx

You need to make sure that session tracking is enabled,
either via cookies or url rewriting. Otherwise, the incoming
request won't be able to tell the server which session it belongs to.

  • Session between multiple Webservice calls from PI7.0

    Hello XI SDNers,
I am unable to overcome my Webservice session problem using SOAP (Axis) adapter. My scenario is as follows:
I am calling a external Webservice deployed in Axis webservice engine from PI7.0, during my first call:  I call synchronous "Login" webservice and I became the response "User is Logged in"
during my second synchronous call "GetItem", the webservice returns "The user doesn't have valid session". The two synchronous calls are executed from same scenario one after another!
I lost my session after the "Login". Is there any way in PI 7.0 to maintain the session?
Note: I tried the same scenario using XML SPY SOAP client, it is working!!!  it is maintaining the session between multiple webservice calls.
Is there any suggestions to overcome this problem?
    Thanks and regards,
    Satish.

  • Password Field not mapped between Request and Provisioning Form

Hi to all. I'm working with OIM 11g. I've faced a strange issue. I'm not sure I'm working properly, so let me explain you my case. In my installation I've got the SSH connector, which is correctly connected with the physical resources. I've loaded the resource dataset ProvisionResourceSSH User bundled with the connector. Consider now that the user "goofy", with "ALL USERS" role, tries to make a request Provision Resource SSH User (Request Based provisioning). He fills in all the field in the appropriate manner, but when OIM triggers "Create User" provisioning task, after the required approval process, the password field is always blank (although goofy filled it in!!!).
I've thought: "ok, it seems a role trouble". And effectively, if goofy has got also the role "REQUEST ADMINISTRATORS", the provisioning form shows the password field correctly valued (as goofy stated in his request).
Note that all the fields are correctly mapped between request dataset and the provisioning form (I'm using the original dataset and the original provisioning form installed by the connector). So all other fields filled by goofy on the request form (request based provisioning) are correctly passed to the provisioning form. All the fields, except for the password.
Am I wrong in something? How Could I make possible to pass the data filled on the request for the password field to the provisioning form even if the requester has not the role "REQUEST ADMINISTRATORS"?
Thank you in advance for the help.

This sure seems goofy! ;-) ... can you try making the ALL Users have all the permissions on the Resource Object and the Process Form and test it out? Also try from the backend at the database and see if the table has NULL for the password field? ... What's the type of password field in the dataset and the process form? Encrypted/Secret at both ends or mis match? Try making them plain text both the places as well.

How to share the same session between JNLP Application and browser session using BasicService.showDocument(url) method? It appears whenever i launch any URL from within a JNLP application using BasicService.showDocument(url) , it creates new instance of browser and session even after i used cooke handlers to restore JSESSIONID and Ltpa token etc.

  • Porting logic sessions between studios

    Hi,
I work with Logic Pro 7 at my home studio along with the studio at my workplace. I'm trying to figure out how to take session files back and forth between the two without having issues of missing audio instrument files, etc.
btw, both studios have the same software plug-ins (Kontakt 3, Vokator, Spectrasonics Atmosphere, etc.).
One issue I have is that when I "consolidate" a Logic project into one folder, it doesn't save 3rd party plugin settings in the folder (it only saves Logic-related plugs like EXS24).
Does anyone work in this type of situation?
Do you have any suggestions to make porting Logic sessions between two locations easier?
    -Michael

I believe the "Save as project" function is the best thing for that situation. Like you said, it won't automatically save 3rd party plugin settings, but you can always save a 3rd party plugin (in the plugin window), and then copy the file from (from user/library/app support/logic/plugin settings) into your project folder. It would be nice if "Save as Project" included that, but it's still pretty useful for consolidating elements of your project.

  • Keep alive a session between 2 BAPI calls

    Hi -
I am calling several BAPIs to maintain data. I am calling from an outside system as I published the BAPIs as Web Services.
I would like that the session between 2 BAPI calls is kept, so I don't miss some session info between call #1 and call #2.
Anyone knows a way of keeping alive a session between 2 BAPI calls?
    Thanks !

    Try this..
<b>ARFC with Resource Management (Parallel Remote Function Call)</b>
    CALL FUNCTION 'MYFUNC'
    STARTING NEW TASK 'T1'
    DESTINATION IN GROUP 'PRFC'
    EXPORTING ...
    TABLES ...
    EXCEPTIONS ...
    communication_failure = 100
    system_failure = 101
    resource_failure = 200.
    IF sy-subrc= 102.
    wait and retry...

  • Loosing session variables in tom cat web app

    Hi,
I have a very strange problem. I keep loosing session state when I open a JSP from another one.
The funny part is that it only happens when I access my application from outside my LAN. when I test my application from a client located inside my LAN I have no problems. It raeds session variables with no problems. When I teste t from outside my LAN where the server is located it looses my session variables. i acts as if it has timed out.
Can you help me with this? The Tom Cat version I`m using is 4.1.27 and the JDK is 1.3.1.
    Many thanks,
    Rui Silva

travis is right. You should make sure you always pass all your URLs through the String response.encodeURL(String) method. Some users may not be able to accept cookies, others may intentionally turn them off. If you want you app to work in all cases, then your URLs need to be encoded.
This counts for URLs as part of links, form actions, javascript submissions, etc...

  • Regarding creating a LOOSE LINK between Sales Order and Vehicle

    Hi,
Does anyone has any idea on how to establish a LOOSE LINK between Sales Order and Vehicle using BAPI_VEHICLE_CREATE or any other Function module.
Any help will be highly appreciated and rewarded.
    Kind Regards,
    Tanuja

    Dear Kumar,
    Strategy - 40
    Consumption of PIR (not Redution)
    1) the first point in strategy in 40 is, incoming sales order consumes PIR
2 )both sales order and PIR takes place in MRP planning run
    2) this is where it is in mostly used in many indutries
just a small example how this strategy works
    1) creat PIR for ur FERT- 100Nos
    2) check in MD04- u will get PIR (VSF) as 100
    3) now creat sales order for 120 for same month
4 )run MRP for that particular FERT
    5) check the result in MD04, here ur PIR gets vanishied and an plan order will be generated for 120 Nos.

  • Delay time between requests

    Hi All,
does somebody know what the delay time is between requests? I run a java code api for microsoft translate but it sometimes I get a connection timeout. I now use 1 second but that is not enough I believe.

    Hi Herman,
the service will respond with a latency between 100 ms and 10 seconds, depending on size and content.
If your request size is above 5000 characters, try to reduce the request size. In any case you have a good chance of succeeding if you simply retry the request right after failing due to timeout.
    Hope this helps,

  • Jam session between iPad and Mac

Is it possible to start a jam session between an iPad (or iphone) and Mac?

Agreed, it must be in development because surely the good folks at Apple have the vision (or at least the common sense) to know this should've happened a long time ago. I'm sure there's a VERY good reason why creating a session between the Mac's GarageBand and the iOS GarageBand is not yet possible and that it must happen soon, right?

  • Sharing sessions between web applications (WAR files)

I am using weblogic 6.1. The opinion I have read indicates that
sessions cannot be shared between WAR files. That is, I cannot put an
attribute on the session from a servlet/JSP in one WAR file and read
it out from the other. The only justification I've seen is "security".
Now, I find this rather difficult to accept for several reasons:
              1. I cannot fathom what kind of "security" would prevent me from
sharing the session between two web applications that I wrote myself.
Let's say I want to write a system that I divide up, for
modularity/separate deployment purposes, into 5 different WAR files.
Why should I not be able to just sign on once and pass that logon
information in the session from one to the other? (I know, I can use
cookies or URL rewriting - but that doesn't seem to be to be a good
solution. And if you can share information through cookies, why not
through sessions?) What about other user information like currently
              selected language?
              2. Several app servers (iPlanet and I have heard two others) allow you
to share sessions between WARs. Why not weblogic?
Thanks for any information you can give me. I have not been able to
find anything in weblogic documentation about this. If I am
misunderstanding the server capabilities, please enlighten me.
              Thanks,

  • How to Persis session between two ear files

Can anybody tell me how to persists session between two ear files?
    Please Help its urgent!!
    Rahul

Rahul -- there's nothing as a J2EE spec requirement or even a proprietary feature of OC4J/OracleAS which will enable this.
If you have two different EAR files, then they are two different applications, and each will have their own session which can't be shared amongst each other.
If you have data which needs to be shared across different applications then you could either put it on a shared file system or write it to a database which you can then read from in the other application.
One way to do this is to implement the HttpSessionAttributeListener interface which will be called when object are added/removed/updated from a session, and then make a determination on whether the new object needs to be stored in a common place to facilitate sharing between applications.
This is more likely to be a hackaround and ideally you'd examine why you want to share session state across applications and rearchitect so you don't need to do it -- but if you want to try a solution without a major revisiting of the whole application, then perhaps it's an option.
