Loosing connection to cFP-2020 when editing subvis

I'm frequently loosing my network connection during the following scenario: Boot my cFP-2020, successfully connect with LVRT, successfully lode and run labview source code with 20MB available memory and stack is 180K, then when I stop my labview program and try to click on a subvi or other parts of the diagram causes me to loose my connection to the cFP-2020.
Once I have lost my connection to the cFP-2020 I cannont ping it or use the FTP server, so I have to re-boot it to get it to work again. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Brad,
How are you stopping the embedded LabVIEW program? Are you using the Abort Execution button in LabVIEW or have you provided a programatic way of stopping your VI (e.g. stop button to conditional terminal of while loop)? If you are using the former method, it may be that one or more of your sub VI's is not exiting in a stable manner and is causing the problem.

My opinion would be that it is likely not the ISP, unless you have complete loss of Internet service for all devices at the same time......it is the Comtrend device....
and
I believe that the problem lies with the modem, and not the ISP signal.
Your ISP will likely have a different opinion, though. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Loosing connection often when watching youtube etc

hi i have the hh5 i am loosing connection say every 4/5 video`s i watch 720 struggles to connect then it says there is a connection problem?
could the hub be faulty?

Run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post results. Must be done wired.

My E71 looses connection with Motorola 820's when ...

When I walk my dogs I can't listen to music because my E71 and Motorola 820 won't stay connected. If I'm sitting still I can listen to all the music I want but when I go outside and walk the music cuts in and out, speeds up, slows down then finally looses connection all together. I tried searching the forums but did'nt find an answer to my problem, I also tried searching for a list of confirmed headsets but could'nt find any.

I am a recording studio engineer. Ive got a Firewire AD/DA Converter (Focusrite Saffire Pro 56) running from my Firewire port of my MacBook Pro, which is running OSX Mavericks. I've also got an external Screen I want to use as an extended display. I'm using a HDMI cable from the screen to a HDMI to Thunderbolt Converter which I then plug into my Thurderbolt Port.
As soon as I plug the screen in, the Firewire Port looses connection completely and I cant use or even choose the Saffire Pro 56 as audio driver. Another thing happens where the Thunderbolt port replaces the Saffire Pro 56 Driver with the screen as the audio output source.
Please help, there's nothing I can find to fix this.

You don't mention which model you have, but this is from the M-Audio Firewire 410 Manual Troubleshooting section:
The FireWire 410 has been designed to give you high performance and professional quality audio. It has been tested under a wide range
of systems and operating conditions. In the real world, however, there is a nearly infinite number of possible operating scenarios, any of
which could affect your system’s performance. Much like owning an automobile, “your mileage may vary.” This section can not begin to
cover all possible issues you may encounter, however we want to give you some suggestions on common problems you may experience.
One thing to avoid is connecting too many devices. The FireWire bus is a dependable, high-speed, high-bandwidth protocol which is ideally
suited for digital audio. Nonetheless, it’s important to remember that audio and multimedia streaming places considerable demands on
your processor and the FireWire bus. Although it is theoretically possible to chain many multiple FireWire devices in series, doing so may
potentially degrade your audio performance.
I guess this degradation could also affect the Firewire HD. Maybe there is a simple fix, but it sounds like the M-Audio people have been down this road before.

How do I reveal the cut points when editing Adobe Connect recording?

Since the roll-out of AC 9.1, when I edit the timeline of a recording I see the timeline of the position of my cursor ON TOP OF the timeline point of the cut points, therefore I can't see where I'm about to cut a recoring. How to see the cut points when editing the timeline?

Hi Kevin,
There is a know bug for the black marker overlapping the time-line with a black marker.
But we have a trick to help you do your editing effectively. Follow the steps mentioned below and you will be able to edit your recording with precision:
1. Pause the recording from where you want to start your editing.
2. Double Click on the LEFT marker. It will take both the markers to that point on the recording timeline.
3. Play the recording and pause the recording again at the point till where you want to edit the recording.
4. Double Click on the RIGHT marker. It will take the right marker to the end point of your to-be-recording.
5. Cut and Save.

Wifi Guests need to reauthenticate when loosing connection

We have Wifi deployment with ISE 1.1.4 authenticating our guest users through CWA.
Whenever a client looses connection for a short time they need to reautenticate by putting in their username and password again.
This is very annoying. Is ther a solution/best practice for this problem?

Rather than setting the session timeout globally, you can set it via RADIUS in the AuthZ policy. We use this to stop Guest users from having to re-auth everytime they disconnect fro the wireless, works well

NIMax crashes when installing software to cFP-2020

New CFP-2020, LV 6.1, FP 4.0, ethernet w/crossover. Even though I can assign a new IP, IMAX causes page fault after removing old software. Hmmmm, wonder if the CFP-2020 is bad.......

I had a big problem setting up my cFP2020 to start with. It took about a week working with tech support. Eventually I managed to assign an IP address and download all the software. Yesterday I had to reset the controller and it just lost everything! To get it back I had to shut down and start up and mess about with the DIP switches, remove it from the network and plug it into my machine using a xover cable. Only then could the IP address be re-assigned.
All the while MAX was being very very slow and I though it had crashed a couple of times, although it turned out just to be thinking. Maybe you were seeing some of these issues too. I've heard from more than one person now that the cFP2020 is not a straighforward beast to problem solve!
Hope this sheds some more light.

CFP-2020 COM Ports 2 and 3 usage

I'm working on an application that needs to control multiple instruments through serial interface.
I'm able to control this instrument through COM1, but when I take the same instrument and try to control it from COM2 I don't have any communication. In fact, so far I have not even gotten a simple loop-back test to work on COM2.
Is there a clever way to verify that COM2 is writing anything out to COM2? I'm using a custom RJ45-10position for the FP end, to an RJ45-8pos at the power supply side, (but this end I have a TXD to RXD loopback)
I've included the simple test VI I'm using as well incase this helps anyone.

    ...what do you mean?!?!?!? Here's the data you need to build the cable (RJ50, or 10 position RJ, don't call it RJ45 ):
   (From cFP-20xx User manual, april 2004 edition)
   So be careful to connect pin 9 and 8 to have a loopback, anc not 2 and 3 (okay unless you number from right )!!!

Performance blocker on cFP-2020: file-I/O! How to improve?

Hi all,
after resolving my serial-communication problems I still have a performance problem. The code is way too slow which causes e.g. the ftp-server on the fieldpoint to not respond anymore to requests from my PC. I always get timeouts. I also frequently get loop-finished-late events within my two state-machines. I have now used the timing and performance monitor to sse which vi is taking so much time. The result: A file-I/O vi that writes data and log-entries into three different log-files. With a former verion I simply used one vi that appends a string to an existing file. However, since this function disappeared with LV8.2 I had to rewrite the code to use the following sequence of LV-functions:
- file open
- set pointer to the end
- write string
- file close
My vi shich calls this sequence is horribly slow - execution time per run is about 200ms and the top of the list in the performance monitor. Are there any suggestions on how to improve this code? I simply want to add a string to the end of the log-file......
The vi is attached. There are two features in the code which are not self-explanatory: The first sub-vi generates a new file if is used for longer than a preset time (15 minutes in my case). So the create-time of the file is stored in the filename and whenever the current time exceeds create-time plus 15 min. A new file name is created. For simplicity, the name is stored only for the first of the three log-files. The other two are created by string operations from the first filename. Second, whenever a file is "created", that means is does not exist yet, a data-header is written to the file, before data is appended.
Can you see simple improvements here that will accelerate this code? Maybe open the file only once and then append data subsequently and only close it when a new file is created? But I do not need all three files all the times, there may be situations where only one file is needed, and the others need not be created at all.

Thanks, that improved the performance of this vi by about two orders of magnitude. The application is now much more stable.
However, I cannot connect to the cFP-2020 anymore by ftp. I even swithed the fieldpoint to boot without vi.
To be specific, I can access the cFP and cd into all directories except for the directory with the data. I assume that there is a large
amount of files in it now, but used to work before even with lots of files. The only thing that might be not so nice is that there is a space
in the folder name, but that has been like that for years now and used to work.
Is there any reason (corrupted file or something like that) that can cause the ftp to fail on this specific directory?

Although there is one little thing that I've noticed. The iMac works properly, but I tried to software update to see if that may help my Minecraft sound issue (as I still don't think only having 2GB instead of 4GB would cause such a problem) but the software update application won't work. Running the "Software Update" from the apple menu on the toolbar gains no response, nothing happens. If I run the software update from system preferences, the application icon appears for a second, then disappears (as in the blank app. icon, the blank canvas with the pencil, pen and ruler in the bottom right corner). It does this every time I try to run it. It did work when the computer was crashing, but this started when on one of the occasions I ran the app. while it was crashing. Since this occured during the crashes, and still occurs now, I'm wondering did something simlar happen minecraft, as it's sound disappeared during the crashes and is still gone now.
However, the computer is now working again without crashes, which is the main thing, thanks for helping me fix the issue

I would recommend the steps in the article below. See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
