Loosing CREATION dates of pictures when EXPORTING

Hi,
When exporting pictures into other folders I loose the creation dates of these pictures. For the exported pictures I get the date of exporting instead of the dates when the pictures were taken.
Drag and drop doesn't help either.
Is there a way to keep this valid information for the exported pictures?

You need to distinguish between the FILE info and the PHOTO info.
The Finder quite correctly gives the creation date for the file: that file is created when you export the pic.
The Photo data is preserved in the EXIF information, and although the file is a copy, the correct EXIF data is exported along with the Photo.
For an example of an EXIF viewer check out EXIFViewer
Bear in mind, that if you have edited the photo it will reflect the date of editing in the EXIF data. If you want to the actual data you'll need to examine the Original File.
If you want to edit the Finder info on the File to reflect the EXIF data, there are several apps that will do this, including A Better Finder Attributes X . But there are others.

    Hi,
I logged bug however information is not enough to locate the problem.
You can use export to reporting schema in order to get your model exported - in database in that case.
We are not going to extend "export to CSV file" functionality any further - it'll be as it is now.

  • Removing date at bottom when exporting to PDF

    Hi,
When I export a keynote ('09) file to PDF, it includes a date at the bottom of the exported PDF. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks for your help,
    Laura

    Hello laura.bryson
When you either go to Share > PDF… or Print > Save as PDF, there are options in both windows that have Include Date as an option.

  • Get too small pictures when exporting from Lightroom

I shoot in both cr2 (23 MB) and Small-jpeg. Afterwards I upload the pictures to Lightroom and have the appear in the catalog as one picture. Here I make all the editing and when I export the picture back to my harddrive as a jpeg I can only get a file of 3-500 kb. I know I have made some croping - but not that much. It is like Lightroom is working on the jpeg picture and not my cr2 picture. Do anyone have a clue to what I am doing wrong? It may be a setting?

The size of the cr2 file i 21 MB (and it has a jpeg sister of 930 kb) - and the picture is cropped - but how do I read the cropped dimension? As I am shooting bird picture I normally crop a lot - but my picture are still of an ok size
I can see your screenshot, and looking at the actual pictures that were exported (thumbnails in the filmstrip at the bottom) helps understand why the jpg files are small: your pictures are mostly a smooth blue background (sky) with a tiny bird in the picture. These files are highly compressible in the jpg format, as there isn't a lot of detail in them. I would expect that the resulting file size would be rather small, even if the original files were large.

  • Good video, poor still picture when export to QuickTime Movie

I exported my project from Final Cut Pro. Had video and still images. When viewing expoprted video in QuickTime Movie, the video looks good but the still images look distorted (pixulated). The images were ~2.0 MB each. If I make the viewer window for QuickTime Movie small, then images look good. I imported the images from IPhoto and if I open a big windom for viewing the images in IPhoto, they look great, just not in my finished video. Please help. Thanks

Thank you so much for replying.
I am really new to Final Cut Pro (Have version 5)
I am using version 7.7 of QUICK TIME.
I did not resize the images. I justdragged image from IPhoto and insertd into timeline on Final Cut Pro. How should I resize.
My video setting is: DV NTSC 48kHz using NTSC (720x480)
I am going to take a course on Final Cut, but I have so much footage an I wanted to put out some video in the meantime.

  • No picture when exporting

i have a project made up of avi (optimized) (codec CineForm HD) + apple prores422 files.
the first time i exported the project i was having some trouble but somehow was able to succesfully manage. exported onto vimeo+master file.
now, after making a few edits (trimmed a couple clips & deleted a few) im experiencing the same problem as before and can't figure what the issue is.
the exported video blacks out halfway into the 5th clip -- to the end of the project. the audio works fine. the picture is black.
in my timeline, sometimes (either the whole project or at the same spot-- in 5th clip) while skimming or during playback, the image will also go black. (this can usually be resolved by restarting fcpx)
ive tried deleting then re-importing, rendering again, deleting preferences, deleting render files, etc.
here's a shot of my timeline.

one sound effect is m4a (works fine-in the first portion of the video)
    a few others are mp3
how do i check the format of the audio attached to the clips? (amateur i know but i can only find .mov)
here's a shot of movie inspector for the 5th clip

  • HT201263 My iphone 3GS froze up or something ... it shows the connect to iTunes logo... what do i do if i don't want to  loose any data ie. pictures,  video, etc. ..?

iPhone 3GS got drop and bonce once or twice... then it froze ... won't  turn off or on... just started showing "connect to iTunes" logo... tried this but hasitant to for change to computer when ask... What can i do to restart iPhone and save or not lose any pictures or video or voice recordings... Help

Assuming the phone is not brand new, a couple possible causes of this are:
The phone could be in Recovery Mode. If this is the case, just power the phone off and back on.
The phone could have been locked with a passcode, and the wrong code was entered too many times. If this is the case, the only way you can back it up before doing a restore is by using a computer it's been previously synced with or backed up to.

  • Export photo creation date

How does one preserve the original creation date on photos exported from iPhoto?  My wife and I use different cameras and want to integrate our pictures.  The only way to do so is by creation date.  But when I export my photos from iPhoto the creation date of the photo is changed to the date I export the photo, not the date I took it.  This should not be.    Is there a way to fix it?

There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export.
However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

  • How do I keep the time and date stamp of my photo when exporting from iphoto

    Hi,
I notice the time and date stamp changed when I exported the photos from iPhoto 11 to a external HDD.
When I looked at the information about the exported photos on my external HDD the time and date changed to the time and date of when I exported the photos form iPhoto instead of keeping the time and date information of when the photo was taken as it appears in iPhoto.
I thought the time and date stamp is in the meta data of the photo file and can't be changed, am I correct?
    Thanks,

    Kyzelios,
How can view the meta data from "finder" or do I need a 3rd party app?
"Get info" function only gives me the creation date which is the export date and time.

  • SSRS 2008 R2 - Dynamic header data stays the same when exporting

    Background:
    I have a SSRS 2008 R2 report with a single Tablix.
The data is grouped by InvoiceID, with each appearing on a separate page.
I'm displaying some of the detail data in the group header row using Expressions similar to the following:
    ="Invoice # "  & ReportItems!InvoiceID.Value"
The data referred to by my ReportItems statements are all hidden in the detail row (Advanced Mode, the Hidden Value for the Static Row Group is set to false).
    Problem:
When I Preview the report in Visual Studio, everything looks as it should - the dynamic header data changes correctly with each group.
However, whenever I export the results (I've tried all the formats), the header data is the same for every group - its taking the values from the first group and using it in all the groups.
I've copied the same expressions into my Totals row, and the data is correct when exported; its only happening in my header rows.
Any help in resolving this is greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi Alex,
According to your description, you have a header with expression contains ReportItems. Now you find it shows incorrect result when exporting to a file. Right?
In Reporting Services, it has reported some similar issue that the ReportItem returns unexpected result when exporting.  In this scenario, since you just want to show the group name in each page as a header for detail rows. So you can make the
detail rows group on the Group. Then delete the Group column but still keep the group. After that add a row above detail row (Out side of group) and put in "=Fields!InvoiceID.Value". Now it will show the corresponding Group name
when you set page break between each group instance. We have tested this case in our local environment. Here are screenshots for your reference:

field expressions using ReportItem refrences have unexpected results when exporting

  • How do I change creation dates of scanned photographs?

I have just scanned thousands of old photos into my computer, and would now like to change their creation dates to reflect when the photos were actually taken (some as far back as the early '70s) -- that way I can organize them chronologically in iPhoto.  Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks!

Select a [photo (or photos) and use the Batch Change time and date command to set the date or a scanned photo

  • I want my pictures and videos to be sorted by the time and date they were taken.   I have Lilghtroom sorting by the creation date, but the videos are sorting separately from the pictures even when the creation dates indicate they are out of order.

I have set the sort order to be by the creation date of the pictures and media I have in the catalog.  But the pictures appear first, in chronological order, then some of the videos follow, in their chronological order, but the videos and pictures don't mix amongst each other in straight chronological order.  How can I fix this?

I think it’s only possible to see raw and jpeg stills side by side e.g. in true chronological order after setting LR prefs. Your video files will automatically show up in the Video smart collection. So you can view them in one place regardless of which folders they are stored in. Otherwise move your images and videos into a new collection and drag them into the order you want, where they will remain fixed. Or use the library filter to define a date range.

  • Exporting original creation dates with images from IPhoto 08

Hello experts: I'm trying to create an archival, file-based image storage structure outside of iPhoto 08 (7.1.5). When I use File/Export to add images to the archival file in the Finder, the resulting image is fine but the original creation date of the image is lost, being changed to a different, and later, date. I've tried ways of moving the image, including dragging, cut and paste, transferring the image to Aperture 2 and exporting, etc. and there's no joy. Any suggestions other than manual redos with A Better Finder Rename 8?
    Sierra!Hiker

Why do you think that the date is lost?
I suspect that you are confusing photos dates (stored in the EXIF data of the photo and viewable by photo programs) with the file dates which are viewable in file programs like the finder - the finder does not look at photo dates (EXIF) and photo programs do not look at the file date unless there is no EXIF data - the the file date is used by iPhoto
