Loosing QuickTime Pro when upgrading software?

I have heard some people complaining that when they update from QuickTime 6 Pro to 7 that it brought them back to basic, will this happen in the future, say from Pro 7 to 8?

I had to go "Pro" when QuickTime 3 was released. It cost $30.
When version 4 shipped they gave us older users a break and let us (QT 3 Pro users) have it for no charge.
Version 5 cost me another $30. So did versions 6 and, now 7.
Trust to assume that version 8 will cost me another $30.
I don't care that much. They only do a new version number when dramatically new technology dictates.
I've gotten my $120 worth from Apple.

Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link  even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)

  • No Dual Sim support on Go SMS Pro when upgrade to Lollipop

    Dear all,
I am not sure whether you all encounter there is no Dual Sim capability in Go SMS Pro when I upgrade my Z3 Dual to Lollipop?
I have no issue with the default SMS client though.
So share your comments and feedback, thanks.

I just tried, it doesn't give you the ability to choose which SIM to use when sending. You need to contact Go SMS Pro application developer to add the feature compatibility to Z3 Dual.
They also state in App Description that the support Dual SIM phones:
    - Dual SIM matching, supports 8,000+ dual SIM devices (keep increasing)
So either contact them on their email, or leave a feedback on Google Play App page.
A proud Sony User since 2002

  • Quicktime Pro: When Exporting for Web, how much does it reduce file size?

I'm considering purchasing Quicktime Pro so I can reduce the file size of Quicktime movies so they load quickly to be viewed on my website. Can anyone tell me how much I can expect to be able to reduce the size of a Quicktime file?

I will try some. 50-100 kB for a 4-color PDFs sounds high if any compression at all is used in the graphic. I would suggest that you look a bit at the graphics. They may not be "16-color" graphics (you may have used 4 colors, but the graphic storage would have to be 16 color, 256 color, or millions of colors and I suspect the storage is millions of colors that a lot of scans default to). You could use PhotoShop or simply IrfanView to check the properties of the colors of the images. That would be the first step I would suggest.
Once you have the colors set, then save them as TIFF to minimize loss in the graphic. TIFF has several options for compression and I really can't advise you there. Just select whatever is the default compression. I created a 8.5X11 image with 72dpi and 16 colors, getting a 55 kB file. The corresponding PDF was 60 kB. There is pixelization and such, but that is something for you to test.
Once you you have reasonable graphics, then consider the PDF. As I said, I ended up with a 60 kB PDF. A segment of the PDF is shown below as a JPeg:
When you put the files together, use Save As to finalize the PDF. Working on the graphics first is probably the best way to fix the issue, rather than dealing with the PDF directly. This allows you to clean up the PDFs and be sure that you have the level of colors (not millions, even if you only use 4) etc.

If I upgrade from CS 6 Production Premium to CCloud, what happens to the plug-ins currently installed in Premiere Pro? Will I lose them (some Red Giant, Synthetic Aperture and such)?

Not only that, there was an internal code change when going from CC to CC2014

  • TRYING to re-install quicktime pro after upgrade to leopard

When I purchased QTP I was running tiger os/X then upgraded to leopard. I have all my online reciepts with the keycode and it wont install. how do I get it back. I tried registering then entered the keycode and the site is trying to make me pay for it again.

  • Can you loose you data when upgrading from snow leopard to os lion?

Will I loose my data if I upgrade from os leopard to lion?

You can lose your data during any upgrade, in fact you don't even need to be doing anything out of the ordinary for your  hard drive to die. Therefore it is vital that you always have a current backup of your system, preferably a Time Machine backup and a bootble clone made through a program such as Carbon Copy Cloner. This is essential if by chance something does go wrong.
Now I've finished scaring you, I have never had a bad experience updating or upgrading, but as your data is precious you really have to protect it just in case.
    Good Luck

  • Does Quicktime Pro when installed offer more codec for iMovie Export

    Hi
I have a client that wants Master quality 1080p LOSSLESS no matter what size for their presentations done in iMovie. I use QuickTime.
I know they want a true lossless codec that can be used in other edition programs. I was thinking on getting QTP7
If installed, does it have a master archival for video output that can be access from an imovie project.
    Thank you
PS they also need to distribute to customer that use Premiere Adobe

QuickTime Pro does not give you more codecs, but Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro 9 will both give you more codecs. I don't use Adobe, so I don't know what they are wanting.
In iMovie, you can export in Apple Intermediate Codec or Apple Animation Codec. Both of these are full i-frame codecs.
If you have Final Cut Pro X or Logic Pro installed, you can also export from iMovie in ProRes 422, but the internal editing will not be in ProRes 422 so I am not sure that it would gain you anything.
If you had Final Cut Pro installed, you could import into FCP as ProRes 422, then import the ProRes clips into iMovie and edit it there, and then export as ProRes 422. But if you have FCPX installed, it is just as easy to edit it in FCPX.
It is possible that Apple's Compressor ($50) app would give you the ProRes codecs, but I have no way to test that.

  • Why have all the songs been deleted when upgraded software

Hi my daughters both have an ipod touch which they got for Christmas. They've both tried to update the software this week and both despite backing up their songs have lost both songs and apps. Why is this and what can we do?

Music, inported videos and some other items are not part of the backup.  The get synced from your iTunes library at the conclusion of an update.  My guess is that the music were not in their iTunes libraries. For want a backup contains see:

In most cases the problem is associated with a failure to follow the installation and activation instructions HERE. However, since you have not really described your problem, it is diffucult to know for sure. Suggest you read these instruction and see if they help. If not, then describe the problem in more detail since "cannot get the upgrade to kick in" could refere to anything from failure to press the "Tab" key to failure to enter a name salutation or suffix to purchasing a key for the wrong system.

  • Installing QuickTime Pro V 7.6.4 in new PC / harddrive...

    Hello,
I have a new PC (with Windows 7), am installing all of the software I still want to use that I had on my older PC, and I need to get my QuickTime Pro I upgraded to working. I have version QuickTime 7.6.4, which I paid for in 2008.
QUESTION: What steps do I need to take in order to download install QuickTime Pro V. 7.6.4?
I looked at their website and I found 7.6.4, but it was for "Tiger" and "Leopard" and I am not really sure how to proceed. I have a registration code, but I need to know what "exactly" to download so I can put the code in and upgrade to the Pro version I purchased.
Thank you in advance. I tried for about thirty minutes to find this information on Apple's page, but I failed.
    Ron Hatchell

    Thank you.
I downloaded the new version, but cannot locate where I can put in my code from V 7.6.4. When I select "Buy QuickTime Pro" from the Help menu, it takes me to a page where I have to buy it, and nowhere is there a place to put my registration code in.
Not sure what to do now.

  • QuickTime Movie Files Won't Convert For iPod using iTunes and QuickTime Pro

I've got a ton, and I mean a ton of QuickTime movie files of music videos that I want to convert to use on the iPod. I tried using "Convert Selection For iPod" in the Advanced Menu on iTunes, but got the following message trying convert a QuickTime file of U2's Beautiful Day:
""Beautiful Day" could not be converted because this file does not allow for saving or conversion."
I purchased QuickTime Pro hoping that the features on Pro would convert the file. When I opened the same file to convert using QuickTime Pro, "Export" under the file menu was grayed out so I couldn't select it.
You'd think that an APPLE QuickTime Movie file that can be played on APPLE'S iTunes and APPLE'S QuickTime Player would be able to be converted to be used in APPLE'S iPod player. (Anybody notice how APPLE is capitalized to point out that the the hardware, software and file formats are ALL Apple?)
Instead I wasted money buying QuickTime Pro when it won't do what I specifically bought it for. Now I have all these QuickTime files which won't play on the iPod.
Can anybody provide some help or assistance on how to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish???

If the file doesn't allow saving or conversions then it is protected by DRM (Fairplay).
Nothing can help QuickTime Pro convert protected files.

  • Quicktime Pro, preload and Director Que Points

    Hi All,
I have just discovered that the latest version of quicktime
Pro (7x) does not have the prelaod option when exporting a movie.
If you have markers embedded in your quicktime movie that you want
to use as que points in Director you can no longer do this as you
MUST have the preload setting enabled in Quicktime Pro when
exporting the movie. Director will throw an error when you try to
import the quicktime file warning you that the file is not
preloaded and the que point will be disabled for that file.
Has anyone else upgraded to Quicktime Pro 7?
The only solution that I can find is to install Quicktime 6x
BUT I haven't got the installer and Apple do not have it on their
site, looks that it was money mis-spend when I upgraded to version
    7.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Many thanks!

    for the apple snag.

I faced the same problem one month ago. At the end I decided
to use flash. It has the possibility to work with cue points in a
natural way. One solution I explored with Director was to do my own
cue points controls. Basically, I got a list of my cue points, I
used the old CoolEdit to define and export the list, then I checked
the time of the movie in a loop (exitFrame) and I compared the time
of the movie with the list of CP to trigger the events. But as I
told you, I decided to use Flash

  • Quicktime Pro exporting to WMV -- only exports 30 seconds?

Have 7.6.6 PRO and am exporting to WMV. But I only get 30 seconds of video? Any ideas?

I am having a problem with this as well. In Quicktime Pro, when I try and export a 4:49 length .mov into a .wmv, it will only give me 4.30. Why would it cut me off? At first I thought maybe the machine hic-upped or something during the conversion but I have attempted it several times and no matter what I do, I can only get 4:30 in length.
I have Quick Time Pro and Flip4Mac WMV Studio Pro HD and have spent hours going through the FAQ’s and discussion forums on both sites and can’t find anything about a time constraint once you have purchased the “paid” versions......HELP
