Los all emails in all inboxes

I connected my iphone 3GS to my macbook last night. I started syncing and I went to bed. I got up this morning and the only content in my inboxes was what came in over night. My inboxes were fine before the sync. I have checked on my three accounts via computer and the boxes are empty there as well. Each box has a different login and password. No one had my phone. I checked my trash folder and none of the missing emails were there either.
How did this happen? Is there a way to restore them? How can I prevent this from happening again?

No, changing to a different wifi network has no effect on emails. However, if you disconnect your device from icloud (Settings>icloud) and then connect using a different ID (a different icloud account), then you will lose the emails.
I provided info above for both a wifi connection and icloud connection, since you used the expression, "wifi account" and that is not a correct expression to use. You connect to a wifi router possibly using a password, and connecting to icloud is a totally unrelated thing.

You can change the login ID address, provided that it is not an @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com address. You will need to sign out on all your computers/devices and sign back in again with the new ID.
However, once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
All is not lost, though. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

If you are using Mac Mail, from the Mail menu bar top of your screen click Mail > Take All Accounts Offline then click Take All Accounts Online.
You should not lose any unopened or saved mail.

The only way to make the inbox on the iphone back to 0 is to delete the account then re install it.

Sort of.
- Apps and other purchases are locked to the account that purchased them.
- You have to log into the account opd do certain things with the purchases like transfer then to your computer.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
Try recovering yur PS for the first axccount so y can change the email address.

In Mail app, on the upper left side you will see <Mailboxes Click on that and you can select individual email acounts or choose to have them all in one.

Depending on which email client software you use
the files should be in 'your home folder' library, esp.
if you use Mail application.... ~/Library/Mail
Since you don't specify what mail application,
that would most be associated with the file.
I notice there are some items to the right of your post
where it says "more like this' so that may be worth a
look to see if similar issues were answered. Also, the
Help viewer in your system is a searchable database.
Seems that google also brings up fair information, too.
Do you have a complete bootable clone of your entire
Mac system on an externally enclosed hard disk drive?

Okay, I had not finished the update on my device when I first answered your question. I just now got a chance to get back on here.
Open the mail app. When you see the Mailboxes screen, over to the upper right you should see Edit. Tap on that. The next screen allows you to select what to display on the previous screen. You should be able to select the individual mailboxes. Mine came over that way when I updated.

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it. and there should be.
Try this, I never have but it should work.
on your touch go to
1 Settings
2 Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3 select your email account ( the one with 1500 emails)
4. scroll down and select Advanced
5. select Remove
6. select After one day ( the default is never)
tomorrow your 1500 emails should be gone. any new emails should be there.
You may want to keep the setting at one day, one week, one month or never. BUT you should probably cleanup and delete some of those 1500 old emails.
