just bought new iphone 4s and when synicing or backing up from my old 4 I lose siri, everything, don't have my pictures, messages, nothing. no siri either

I think the first thing you should do is backup your old phone. Then when you hook your new 4S to iTunes, "left click and select Restore". You should have more than one backup option to restore to your new phone.
And Siri has NOTHING to do this this procedure. First of all, you have to be connected to the internet (either wireless or 3G) to use Siri. Lately there have been times when Siri has been down. Wait a while and it will come back up.

The music is stored on the iTunes library. This library isn't deleted when you uninstall or reinstall iTunes, so you will keep everything. Anyway, it's better to make a backup of the library. Apart from that, you can download the purchased music as many times as you want

I seriously doubt that you can do that. I've never heard of anyone doing something like this. I also strongly suspect that that windows software didn't preserve all the resource fork, ownership and hard links correctly.
You are left with manual migration of your data back to your computer. this isn't as hard as you make it sound. You just need to copy you own stuff back. also use the following [post|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6185507] to migrate important parts of you user library, Mail, iphoto etc. You will have to reinstall your applications by hand.

You need to provide more details about what happened. But, here is something you can check.
When you run Photo and it converts your library, it doesn't delete the iPhoto library. Look in your Pictures folder - you should see two libraries:
iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary (this is the original iPhoto library)
Photos Library.photoslibrary (this is the new Photos library)
You should still be able to open the original iPhoto library. The iPhoto application was not deleted from your computer. (It was probably removed from your Dock if you had an icon there.) Look in the Applications folder, find iPhoto, and run it. It should show your original library with all your original images.
It is always a good idea to back up your photos (and the iPhoto library) before trying these migrations. Problems do occur...

According to your descriptioin, I don't think this is system problem, it should be Intel driver problem. It would be contact Intel to confirm this issue whether this is their driver problem.

What address book or cloud service were you syncing your contacts with before the update? They should still be there.
Contact information is only part of the backup in order to maintain your favorites and recent calls list. Contacts are meant to be synced to a cloud service or address book.

How can I optimize my browser? I'm having serious issues in Hotmail, forcing me to constantly refresh the page, then I lose all my text when I do!

I'm using Firefox 3.6.8 [& Vista os], and can't find any relevant info in Firefox 'Help' re: optimizing browser.
I wrote Hotmail about my problem below, and they say I need to optimize my browser. They don't give instructions for how to do this in Firefox.... when I search in your 'help' contents, nothing close comes up.

This is VERY frustrating, to say the least! I have major deadlines, and Hotmail is so bad I can't get my work done!!
Ever since the 'upgrade', I am forced to almost constantly refresh my browser, and then when I do, my email and all my text goes away! Sometimes I am prompted to refresh when I have just logged in.... It asks me to refresh my browser sometimes once a minute.... sometimes more often!
When I hit refresh, it actually causes the current page to disappear, and it comes back as a blank email with all my text gone! And hitting the 'back' button does not bring me back to the page I lost.
Most of the time I can't even save my work as a draft, because it asks me to refresh [again], and then the email is gone and there's no draft to be found.
This is *very* time consuming!! I've had to figure out how to work around this problem, but my 'fix' is also very tedious and time consuming....
I'm constantly copying my text so I have a current copy of my email, then when I lose the draft, I paste it back in... I often go in circles with this, and eventually I'll have my current draft saved.
Also, sometimes when it prompts me to refresh, just hitting the 'save draft' button a few times will suffice. So at least I won't lose my page, because, sometimes hitting 'save draft' actually works.... Eventually, tho, it'll force me to refresh before I can move on to sending the email.
Please help!! I've been using Hotmail since before MS bought it, and this problem is SO bad I'm considering jumping ship so I can get my work done!!
I don't generally like upgrades, as it usually means there will be problems, and the upgrade was released before being fully tested!.... I don't like being a guinea pig, especially when I have deadlines!

You can try to copy the text to the clipboard (Ctrl + A and Ctrl +C) if you need to refresh.
"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Apple TV loses wireless network connection when using AirPlay from iPad or iPhone 5

Our Apple TV loses connectivity to our wireless network while using Airplay from our iPad or iPhone 5. This started occurring after the latest iOS update. We are able to wirelessly stream movies from iTunes without any problem. This issue occurs only when using AirPlay. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a:
new MBPr 15" late 2013 with dedicated graphics card
new airport extreme base station
3rd generation apple tv
iPhone 5s
200mb download speed (not important, as streaming video on your local network has nothing todo with outside bandwidth)
All equipment is up to date software wise. Airplay mirroring from my laptop to my apple tv is ok. I get frequent lag, pixelation, audio skip (every 10 mins or so).
I'm using the 5ghz specturm to connect to the airport express so shouldn't have any inteference from my neibours (accordiing to iStumbler i'm the only person with a 5ghz setup using channel 30). I've tried connecting apple tv wirelessly and wired. No issues streaming from my iPhone or an iPad!
Surprisingly, using apps such as Beemer or Air Video Server on my MBP work better than native mirroring when it comes to video play back.
Strange when you think how Air Video works:
Video file lives on MBP
iPhone connects to laptop
Video plays on iPhone and is sent to Apple TV via Air Mirroring
Rather than:
Video played on laptop
Video sent to Apple TV
Seems bizzare that my iPhone can handle better streaming than my pro laptop.

I am installing Mountain Lion on a OS X 10.6.8, but I did not make any backups of my files, or itunes music. Will I lose all my stuff when the download is complete? What do I do now? Is there a way to stop the download, so I do not lose my stuff?

If it is in the process of installing, then stopping it now may well result in an inoperative computer. By rights you should not lose any data. But you should consider a backup strategy straight away after the install is complete. Some of your programs may be PPC based and will no longer work in Mountain Lion, but we can deal with that when your install is complete.

How to automate the purging of archivelogs on primary when backing up from physical standby?

When configuring archivelog backups to run from my Active Standby database (11.2.0.3) I am running into an issue where the archivelogs on the primary database are not getting purged. This is resulting in the archiver hanging on the primary.

My archivelog deletion policy is set as follows on both the primary and standby
CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON ALL STANDBY;
When I run REPORT OBSOLETE from RMAN however, the primary database seems to have outdated information in it.
I have also observed the following in the RMAN backup log:
RMAN-08120: WARNING: archived log not deleted, not yet applied by standby.
Do I need to perform additional configuration to automate the purging of archivelogs on the primary database or is there an issue with the backup options and / or deletion policy specified?

The primary and standby databases are in sync and have been for over a week now.
Primary:

All iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
All photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone should remain on your computer.
Although photos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup, photos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
Contacts are included with your iPhone's backup also, but are designed to be synced with a supported address book application on your computer. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for contacts, which can be lost or stolen.

Firefox loses all my tabs when I re-open and won't let me restore!!!

From day to day I need to have several tabs open in the browser. When I start up the next day and reopen firefox IT DOES NOT restore my tabs. I have to go into History and one by one restore them. What is wrong?? Will this ever get fixed??
