Lose wireless after using USB to scan

Hi everyone
My HP4500 will not scan without the USB cable....says so on the SCAN button....thats ok, but after I hook up the USB----the wireless for printing does not work anymore........???  I have to uninstall and reinstall wireless connections again....very frustrating!  Is this just the way it is or is there something that can fix the problem?
Thanks
Annette

  • Lost wireless after using Goodreader file transfer

    After creating computer (MacBook Pro)-to-computer (ipad) wireless network using Goodreader, my wireless does not work at home or in hotels (WEP), it is effective at work where we use 802.1x.  It disabled my ipad wireless too! HELP!  Whenever it asks for my password, I get a connection timeout.  If I enter the wrong password it tells me that it was the wrong password. We erased my computer, re-uploaded my backed up files, and it still does it.

    Without going into a long winded answer, the only thing I can really offer is to say this... If you feel as though your code has been correctly written and you simply cannot identify any other possible solution, add SYNCHRONIZE. In short, its execution acts similar to a reset or refresh button.
    Another common place where SYNCHRONIZE has been helpful is when calling RUN_REPORT_OBJECT. For example, if you use the code we offer in the Forms/Reports Integration document you will find that it works very well - most of the time. However, sometimes it fails for what seems to be unexplainable reasons. If you message out the values being assigned you will see that some variable values are not being set even though the code execution has already passed the point where a value should have been assigned. Adding the SYNCHRONIZE just after the point where the value should have been assigned forces the assignment before executing the next line of code. For example,
         v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
         rep_status := report_object_status(v_rep);
    In the above code, a request for a report is made followed by a check of its status. At this point you would expect that the status would be something like one of the following:
         'RUNNING', 'OPENING_REPORT', 'ENQUEUED'
    However, we have seen instances where the value assigned to the variable would actually be NULL, which of course will make the rest of the code likely fail. By adding SYNCHRONIZE the problem is correctable.
         v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
         rep_status := report_object_status(v_rep);
         SYNCHRONIZE;
    It is important to understand, however that using SYNCHRONIZE comes at a price. Each time it is executed a network round-trip occurs which will give the application the appearance of degraded performance. So use this built-in only when you know you must.

  • Software 2.0 : no audio after using USB accessory

    I've discovered what I believe is a rather interesting (and rather serious) bug in the iPhone 2.0 software:
    When an USB IAP accessory (such as a lot of newer car stereos) is connected and disconnected a couple of times the audio output from the iPhone will often stop working. Disconnecting the accessory or plugging/unplugging headphones does not fix the problem.
    And I mean the audio completely dies: I get no audio from the phone, voicemail, ringtones, iPod, or system sounds from the speaker, headphones, or dock output.
    It's like the audio drivers crash. Sometimes the audio will start working again after a long period of time (like if the phone has been sitting idle for hours while I'm at work) but usually I have to reboot to get it working. It seems when I can get audio to work again without a reboot, I get a new crashReporter log about mediaserverd the next time I sync.
    The problem occurs when the phone is connected to an iPod accessory that uses the IAP audio-over-USB capability (I tried my Pioneer car stereo and a Kenwood stereo at Best Buy) It does not occur when connected to an accessory that only uses analog audio. I've seen it happen on my iPhone 3G and the original iPhone, so I know it's not a hardware problem.
    I know for a fact the Pioneer and Kenwood units I tested are stated as having USB inputs compatible with the iPod Video, iPod Nano, iPod Classic, and iPod touch. (I can confirm the Pioneer does work fine with my old iPod Video.)
    Multiple reviews have shown them to also work well with original iPhones running 1.1.4 and below (even if you do get the "not made for iPhone" warning)
    However, both phones I tested are running 2.0. Which leads me to think this is a bad 2.0 bug?

    "It's by design..."
    Nope; not referring to "airplane" mode issues here. This does seem to be a compatibility issue with USB devices, regardless and independent of the response to "use Airplane mode?" dialog.
    Experiencing this, good to know others are too, bad to know it's still an issue (and misunderstood too?).
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Connect iPhone3G to a USB-compatible audio device (Kenwood car stereo here, front USB input, model KDC-MP438U).
    2. Car stereo functions correctly, lets me browse and playback songs for up to 2 minutes
    3. Playback ends abruptly; car stereo reports a "USB Error".
    4. Remove iPhone from connector (after pressing and holding "USB Remove" button on car stereo).
    5. Audio playback thru iPhone has ceased. Voicemail, apps/games, etc... no audio.
    6. Reconnecting the iPhone (without a full reset) appears to resume playback (track timer indicator resumes), but no actual audio.
    6. iPhone reset returns functionality.
    Side note: my iPhone is charging correctly during the 2 minutes of functioning playback. I'll check again if it's continue to charge after audio ends.
    Also checking Kenwood forums, but the fact you (TWParker) have experienced the issue across stereo brands, and only after 2.0 update, seems to point finger to Apple.

  • Why does my imac lose wireless after sleep?

    I have a brand new imac core5 that loses it's wireless connection after sleeping.  OS X 10.7.2
    Any help for this?  Sometimes can turn wireless off and back on to fix, but sometimes have to restart the computer.

    Apple just posted this patch:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1501
    This DOES fix the problem.

  • IPhone4 loses wifi after use of iCloud

    Does this happen to anyone else?  Last night I was backing up to iCloud using my wifi.  I also checked my mail, discussed with hubby about how to keep mail on server, then left the phone alone.  This morning, I have only 4G and no wifi.  I cannot join the wifi in my house!  Why doesn't the phone remember the password?  Why do I have to type it in after every time I use iCloud?  Am I the only one?

    did you restore from a backup or as a new device? if you restored as a new device, i would try one more time and then head to the apple store if it doesn't work. if you tried as a backup, try a hard reset (holding the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time until the apple logo appears) if that doesn't fix it, i would do a restore as a new phone. if that still fails, i would do as i suggested above...

  • Macbook problems after using usb power

    Hi, something verycstrange happened to my macbook yesterday,  i bought some speakers with usb energy conection,  when put in usb macbook turned off and now i cant turn it on. No way, when conect charger , not even the light turns on, absolutley nothing happens anymore. I brought the notebook into the apple store but it takes a few days. Anyone of u have an idea what that can be. I m a bit surprised that this happens to a mac, its not even 2 years old

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    Your MacBook does not turn on and even the power adapter light does not work, so it looks like the whole logic board is damaged somehow. If this is the problem, it's going to be a expensive repair for sure (unless you have AppleCare). This is not the first case I see related to Macs stopping working after connecting a USB peripheral.

  • Lose airport connection after using boot camp and windows XP

    After using windows XP on boot camp and shutting down windows and booting to Mac OS 10.5.7 I lose the airport connection and have to restart or reset my airport extreme base station. My imac 2.8 is connected to airport via ethernet. Air port is operating on 5.7 version. This is a recent development and suspect it is related to updates in windows. I do not know where to start but need to solve this problem as it interrupts the other computers on wireless. Thanks Carl

    I have solved problem. It was in the windows settings using airport rather than ethernet connection. Carl

  • Pro L10: After using a wireless mouse, the touch pad has stopped working

    Pro L10. After using a wireless mouse, the built in touch pad has stopped working properly. On start up the touch pad icon shows and the touch pad operates intermittently, after a few minuets the icon disappears and the touch pad stops functioning. In the control panel/mouse & or device drive I can the program operating and then disappears.
    I have removed the software and reinstalled to no avail. On occasions I get a message to say that another pointer is in operation.
    Can you help?

    Hi
    It seems that the wireless mouse or the wireless mouse drivers/software has a bad influence on the touchpad.
    I dont have a proper solution for this issue. Well, you can check the Toshiba driver page for newest driver updates. If the updates doesnt solve this issue so I suggest to use either the wireless mouse and disable the touchpad with the key combination FN+F9 or to use a common USB mouse.
    I assume that you dont have any problems with a common USB mouse.

  • MacBook no longer connects wirelessly to internet after using ethernet

    So: here at home I have an airport extreme and a time capsule. The airport extreme connects to the cable modem, and the time capsule extends the wireless network created by the extreme. I was trying to do an initial time machine backup from the MacBook, so I plugged it in with an ethernet cable to speed things up. After using the cable, the MacBook will simply not connect to the internet if I connect wirelessly to the network. When wireless accessing the network, I can see the time capsule's shared drive, etc, but I can't connect through to the wider internet.
    Any suggestions?

    have you tried doing a power cycle on your modem and airport?

    After lollypop upgrade I can no longer transfer files from LGg3 to windows8 computer using USB charge cord. Can I roll back to Kittcat?

    That is definitely odd, grantcool. Let's help restore this important data transfer feature. To confirm, when you connect the USB cable to your phone and computer > Pull down the Notification Bar > Select USB Connected > Can you choose Media Sync (MTP) ?

  • No charging over USB after Using Firewire charging - 5G ipod

    After charging two 5G ipods (30 & 60G models) with my sons firewire power adaptor (charging is supposed to be supported for 5G models just not syncing) both iPods have not been able to be charged using orginal USB cable supplied through macbook pro and have to be rebooted each time I want to sync them using USB (but still won't charge at same time).
    I tried resetting etc...nothing. My connections now gives warning that "ipod is connected to a low-speed USB 1.1 port....you should connect it to a high-speed USB 2.0 port"... Trouble is all of my macs have usb 2.0 and since using the firewire (as a charger) it now thinks they are all USB 1.1 ports.
    I have even disconnected the battery on the 30G model but this did not fix it either.
    Any suggestions?

    Yes, After 5 hours of charging on my Mac, I plugged it in a brand new PC with USB 2.0 for 3 hours. I even tried reseting the iPod (in case it is a software problem...) When I took the iPod of the PC, the battery level was still at 70% and I still hadn't used the iPod Nano. He just refuses to charge to 100% and won't accept firewire charging. My next step is letting the iPod play for a while (untill batterylevel is red) and then recharging, see if it actually charges.
    PS: Could it be that charging the Nano with a firewire adapter messed up anything?
