Loses audio then video freezes.
Well when I am streaming content I will consistently lose audio and a few seconds later the video freezes. I can then skip ahead or skip behind where the audio stopped and resume until this process happens again. There are times where this is happening every 30 seconds and other times where I can wait up to 5 minutes before I have to do this. This is happening on google chrome and firefox browsers.
I suspect you might be running into this bug:

Lose audio - not video - during FaceTime
My i7 MBP loses all audio after several minutes of a FT conversation. I still get distant end audio and video but distant end gets video only - the mute button has NOT been activated. Any clues to help me????
Sorry everyone, I posted this in the wrong forum.

H.264 web video loses audio sync and freezes frame in JW media player
Hi,
I am trying to put my H-264 video (.mov) that I compress with Compressor on the web to play in JW media player. The problem is, after 30 seconds of smoothly playing, the video starts to lag, freezes frames and ever since then the audio do not sync with the video anymore (can be as far apart as 10 second). Strangely, this only happens on the longer videos.
I am assuming it has something to do with the compression setting that makes the file is too big and thus create streaming bottlenecking? Maybe I should readjust my parameters?
this is the setting I use:
File Extension: mp4
Estimated file size: 104.3 MB
Audio Encoder
AAC, Mono, 44.100 kHz
Video Encoder

Thanks,
JDThanks for the input. What do you mean by encoding it as H.264 not mp4 - which setting affects that?
Maybe I already has it?

When playing a sequence, audio will suddenly disappear and pix in external monitor will freeze, although pix in canvas continues to play. Have checked ext video, refresh AV, audio playback in View menu and have run FCP Rescue. Seq & Capture presets are DV NTSC 48khz.
Any other suggestions?
This happened with my main project after having trouble capturing material for a new project (which I abandoned)You need to plug the headphones into the camera or deck you are outputting to.

Clips thumbnails lose audio then turn grey
I have read several of you having similar problems and have not yet found a fix. I have an iMac that came with Tiger and ILife 08 which I bought at the end of Sep. Upgraded to Leopard. Video clips imported into event library don't last long before: 1. the audio goes 2. the thumbnails turn grey. They can be put into project, but will not render so that iDVD will work. I would rather not spend the $ on Final Cut Express and have to learn new software, but iMovie 08 isn't cutting it unless I can get a fix. Thanks.
I was also having this issue. I had the latest version of iMovie from iLife 08. I took the iMovie application and trashed it. I then reinstalled the iLife 08 suite to get back to the 7.0 (471) version. When I did this and reopened iMovie the sound for all of my clips had returned and the grey thumbnails were gone. Good luck.

QuickTime Editing Basic - Loses Audio when Video is Edited
I only have the basic quicktime version and I only want to do basic editing. When I trim or split a clip, the audio input from the computer mic gets lost. Thoughts? Help?
I only have the basic quicktime version
the basic version ( QT player ) does not edit, you need to buy QuickTime Pro from here:
QuickTime Pro
If you mean QT X read the help files on trimming clips it explains it well -
My audio and video freezes after a few seconds of playing. Even the key strokes seem to stop after a few seconds of typing.
Once the audio stops on a video, the video will play for an additional few seconds before it too freezes.
I have done the hard start, checked connections, even restored a couple times with no avail. Please help!
How can I fix this?If you would like to Private message me your Tele# I can run a full diagnostic test on the premises from our support center and let you know what I come up with. From there we can discuss what we want to do to fix your chanell issue as well as the pixelation.

Video freezes for a few seconds multiple times but audio continues ok
Flash freezes for a second or three; audio continues ok.
Happens usually a few seconds in, every 8 seconds or so for maybe 3 times and
intermittent after that (sometimes runs fine the rest of the way). Have Vista64
IE9 - Chrome and FF doesn't freeze only IE. Disabled hardware acceleration (to
software). Nvidia 440 drivers up to date. Flash up to date: Object
13.0.0.214 ActiveX control: 12.0.9.149
(shouldn't that be same as object?). Not a buffer problem as it loads up
usually at a good clip ahead of playing video. Local storage buffer set at 10MB
(tried higher and lower settings no joy). Would having 4 HD audio drivers
installed have anything to do with this problem? (noticed in device manager). Previous
versions back a few months were doing this too so decided to go on this forum. Thanks.
Hope I didn't miss anything.OK as of today (June 27, 2014) I've had 93 views with no response. I did find a very long thread pertaining to this subject (Flash player stutters for 1 second then continues normally) so I'll tack on to end of that thread with the hopes that something can be done with this annoying stuttering. I want to post my DX Diag text but first update above: It's IE version 9. When video freezes it appears to "catch up" with audio running with no hitch (the whole thing takes a second or two and might happen a few times in a minute video - it ALWAYS happens with a second or two in the beginning though). I even reinstalled IE9 going all the way back to IE7 to make sure I got "fresh" files installed as possible - still same problem after that. With that said below is my DX Diag text. If someone (especially an Adobe person) has any suggestions of where else I can post to get someone talking to me I would appreciate it.

FMLE streaming @ HD, video freezing but audio still works. ??
Hi all,
We are trying to some HD streaming using FMLE 3 and a Osprey 700HDe card.
We can get the HD input in @ 720p no worries.
Once the stream is pushed up to our CMD and embedded in the webisite we can view the video.
Thats all ok.
It plays fine for a while and then the video freezes but the audio continues to play. It clears up after a while but its a pretty constant problem every minute or so.
We tried some suggested methods like turning of hardware acceleration in the flash player.
And even pushed the buffer out to 1 minute.
No luck.
Its more noticeable at bitrates above 2000kbps.
We would also like to push the res and bit rate higher to deal with full 1080p.
But we would lik it to handle this lower quality first.
The processor is not running under too much stress. Around 35% and our internet is more than sufficient. 60mps down 5mps up.
Any ideas??I think problem is in your network conditions. Please check the RTMP buffer at FMLE. Is it increasing. You can check this from Statistics Panel at Publishing tab.
This could be due to network latency at between your client and FMS side. Please check it using Ping command. If this latency is beyond certain level then also you can also see RTMP buffer increasing and Video stalling at subsciber side -
I am using imovie 09 and when I try to play the scenes from my hd camcorder the video freezes then audio freezes and the play bar keeps going with no video or audio. How Can I fix this??? PLEASE HELP!
Up front I would say the short answer is "no"... but the long answer is "sort of".
Replicators are part of the Fractal "arsenal" and Motion definitely has those, but I think you would be very hard pressed to come anywhere near the type of fractal imaging as in the Electric Sheep example.
I was able to squeeze the following out of Motion (the base element is a simple square), but by the time it got this far, Motion wouldn't play faster than about 1 frame every 5 or so seconds. At a certain point, you end up having to render movie files in order to see it in action (and that took Motion about 8 minutes for a 12 second project [09 iMac i7].) [If you're interested, I posted a short video of these here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6Fe_ydfAss. The segments are longer than 12 seconds each because these are designed to loop @12 seconds and each one was looped more than once.]
[You asked the question on the 4th - I "finished" this on the 7th... (I admit to several "false starts")]
If you have a faster mac than mine, you might be able to do more than this... and you really don't have access to the Maths that fractal apps have, so depending on your creativity for devising the "root" motif element you may (or may not) be disappointed in what Motion has to offer (it *will* try your patience!) If you would like to experiment anyway, I will explain some of the techniques I used for the above (which are, at best, rudimentary!) Once you get the basics down, you should be able to take off in your own directions.

Videos freeze after 5-7 seconds, no audio at all - Google Chrome
Win7 x64
Google Chrome 21.0.1180.60 m
Flash version 11.3.31.222
My os is 64-bit, but the "what version of flash are you running" window says it's 32-bit. Which strikes me as odd. Anyway,
Problem is basically laid out in the subject. No matter what video I try to play, it freezes after a few seconds. There is no audio whatsoever. I tried the uninstall (using the uninstaller) I found in another Flash forum, but it didn't help. As a matter of fact, running the uninstaller made no difference at all. Videos still played for a few seconds, sans audio, then froze.
Is there a fix for this? It only started happening yesterday.
Update: Also happens in Firefox. IE works fine. Our Chrome browser not only automatically updates it's version (21.0.1180.60m) without notice , but the Shockwave Flash (11.3.31.222/ 11.3.300.268) plugins too!!!
I had to disable 11.3.31.222 along w. 11.3.300.268 and have 11.2 r202 (11.2.202.235) solely enabled again because this time, i had 'shockwave plugin unresponsive' at some websites that stalled pages, and of 11.3.300.268., 'unresponsive shockwave plugin' refused to play YT.
*type: chrome://plugins in address bar in chrome - click the + on the top right
And enable/disable plugins
I think d/l's here might very well work: http://www.oldapps.com/flash_player.php
or, directly
(Although it seems some are not happy w. crashing browsers and such with 11.3.300.268 version!?)

CS4 rendering and the audio is fine but the video freeze half way through
Hi I need your help
I am using Premiere Pro CS4 on a MAC,
We have a project that is using multicam editing of footage from 2 cameras. the footage is fine in the timeline when you move through the time line the footage is 2hours 20 min when edited.
When rendering this out it takes about 9 hours when you play footage back it stops at the 43 min mark the audio continues but the video freezes on the frame for the rest of the footage.
We have rendered a small clip 5 mins ether side of the footage where this happens and the footage is fine when played back.
Do you have any ideas as to what I can do
RodneyRodney,
The first thing that I would look for would be a gap in the Video, and especially in that 43 min. range. Even a 1 Frame gap can cause issues. I find that gaps can be tough to spot, even when the Timeline is zoomed into the frame-level. I use the keyboard shortcuts, PageUp & PageDn, to step through the Clips. The CTI (Current Time Indicator) should jump smoothly from Clip to Clip. If you encounter a little hiccup, or pause, you have likely found a gap. This is the first thing that I would rule out. If there are no gaps, then something else seems to be happening at that 43 min. mark.
To rule out another possibility, though a remote one, are you Exporting to an external HDD, that is perhaps formatted to FAT-32 (max file size ~ 4GB), which is the normal format for an external to go between a Mac and PC, as the Mac cannot yet use the NTSF format. Like I said, this is not very likely, especially as your Audio keep playing.
Good luck,
Hunt -
Video freezes, audio continues...
Okay, this has been going on long enough. When I attempt to play videos I've gotten through iTunes, they won't play properly. The video freezes after a few seconds and never resumes, while audio continues with no problem. Why is this happening? It started when I upgraded to 7.1.6, and while I've seen that there are ways of re-installing 7.1.5, the method is such a headache I can't imagine there isn't an easier way. This is a frustrating problem that has been going on for some time, I can't believe Apple hasn't addressed it yet.
My iMac G4 was playing these videos perfectly fine until this 7.1.6 update, so I know my computer can play the files. I guess I am just annoyed that fixing the problem requires me to jump through so many hoops. I'm also annoyed that I've been seeing complaints about this on multiple forums, so it's clearly not a small issue. I wish Apple would either do something about it, or stop making it so darn difficult to correct.
All right, that was largely a rant. If archiving, cloning and whatnot is the only solution, then I'll try it. -
Youtube playback problems, Video freezes and audio jumps back..
Hello,
since a few weeks I have a strange problems when I am watching videos on youtube. At the beginning the playback works fine, audio and video.. but then the video freezes, and at the same time the audio jumps back for few seconds... when then the audio is again at the same time position where the video freezes, the video continues normal... this happens about 1-4x times per video.
I have already uninstalled the flashplayer, updated to the neweset version and also resetted the complete safari browser. All of this does not solve the problem...
Looking forward to any helping idea.. THANKS!!Go step by step and test.

Using time remapping w/AE CS4 to freeze time/video freezes but not audio
Ok I do alot of editing of sports. One thing I like to do is freeze the moment when a special play is about to happen, highlight the player (via masking), then resume play. I had no problem with this in CS3. Now when I use the same workflow in CS4 the video freezes but the audio doesn't. So when I play it back I see the video freeze BUT the audio is still playing...hence now my audio is not synced up with the video. Didn't do this in CS3. My workflow: from PP -rightclick clip- replace w/ AE comp- AE loads my clip in a comp- I enable time remapping- extend the duration of the comp by 5 sec- find the point I want to freeze-set a key frame-copy key frame to origninal position- now I have a 2 second freeze between 2 keyframes. When I check the comp in PP the video freezes where I want it to but the audio keeps playing during the freeze....even after render. Thoughts?
Hi,
I'm also having the same problem with CS4 version. I'm using Mpeg4 file shot on my canon 60d and it's freezing the video in places and continuing the sound. The whole clip is just over 2 mins and I don't have any effects at all.
Does anyone know how to solve this please???
Cheers!
