Losing audio on .swf import

I'm using a program to create a screencast that exports a .swf. I need to import it into Premier for further editing. The video imports fine, but the audio gets completely lost, although it plays fine in the original .swf. Can I do something to fix this, or is this a Premier bug?

Thanks! Worked like a charm and saved me an annoying intermediary conversion.
Incidentally, you referred to .swf in that thread as an esoteric format. There's no question that in the video world, .swf is just that. But... it's also Adobe's format, so you'd expect it to be well supported Anyway, I'm happy with the workaround. Thanks again.

  • Losing Audio Tracks When importing from 5.1 to 3

I was capturing video on one of the new intel imacs in FCP 5.1. Afterwards I'm importing the files into a project on my powerbook g4 with FCP 3. For some reason I only get 1 audio track when I import the files.
The files on my imac all say 1V and 2A and have the two separate audio tracks. But when I import them on my laptop I get only 1V and 1A. I've tried everything I can think of and changed all the settings I can but can't figure this one out. Can anybody help me?

This has been posted by others in the past, there seems to be changes in FCP 5 and/or QuickTime that make its media not fully-readable by earlier revs of FCP.
I would recapture in FCP 3.

  • Hi, I have problem with importing MOV files from SJCAM 4000. MOV files are in supported formats for Adobe Premiere Elements 11. But if I'm importing MOV file, only audio part is imported, video part is not imported. How can I solve this problem?

Hi, I have problem with importing MOV files from SJCAM 4000. MOV files are in supported formats for Adobe Premiere Elements 11. But if I'm importing MOV file, only audio part is imported, video part is not imported. How can I solve this problem?

    haben
From looking at the specifications of your camera (SJCam 4000), we know already what video compression your camera is using. It is H.264.
A H.264.mov file should be supported by Premiere Elements 11. On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer? And, are you running QuickTime and Premiere Elements 11 from a
User Account with administrative privileges? Please go to Premiere Elements 11 Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime to confirm that you find
presets there for the QuickTime choice there.
What are the properties of these H.264.mov files - is it 1080p30 (1920 x 1080p30)  or something else? Do you know if this camera is recording with a variable or
    a constant frame rate?
Please review and consider and then we will decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?

Hello.   The link FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?
does not work, and i need the answer please. My imported MTS clips are not playing back audio because it seems that no audio imported with the video.   Thanks, Don.

    Hi there
Audio plays when the object with the audio assigned appears. This is why you hear it when the Button appears.
Try assigning the audio instead to the object that appears when you click the button. Perhaps the caption.

  • Audio Drift when importing VHS Tapes-Do I need a Canopus ADVC 300

Embarking on the daunting task of importing/editting >100 2hr VHS tapes, and want to get the best results for my efforts.
I pop a tape into a VCR connected via S-Video (video) and RCA (audio) cables to a Sony DVMC-DA1 AD converter, and from there to my Mac Pro via Firewire. Use FCE "Capture Now" using NTSC DV Converter setup. Start capture, let it run unattended, and return at my leisure to do some rough editting.
Problem is the audio on the imported clip gradually loses sync, by about 2 seconds by the end of the clip. The sync problem is present on the clip when played with Quicktime as well.
    Questions:
    1. Is there a reasonable way to correct this in FCE?
    2. Since my Sony converter is nearing 10 years old, will use of a more recent AD converter such as the Canopus ADVC 300 result in a perfectly synced import?
    3. If so, can you comment on the Canopus's purported video noise reduction and image stabilization capabilities? Is it noticable/worthwhile?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello,
The problem is the audio is not 'locked' to the video, and your old Sony DVMC-DA1 does not appear to support locked audio.
The only way you might deal with this in FCE itself would be to capture shorter clips (say, under 15 minutes each) which would minimize the degree to which the audio drifts out of sync in each clip. (The longer the clip, the greater the drift.)
Given the large amount of video you wish to digitize (some 200 hours), it will be far preferable to use a Canopus ADVC-100, 110 or higher model - +they all support DV locked audio+ - so the video & audio are sync'd without the need for manual intervention or capturing short clips.
I have used the Canopus 100 & 110 extensively and have been very happy with the results. Sometimes, depending on the VHS tape, there is some slight banding at the very bottom of the image but 1) this is +usually not visible+ in the finished movie because it is outside the 'image safe area' and 2) if necessary can be compensated via about a 2%-4% enlargement of the image in FCE (which is not enough to soften the image).
I have not used the Canopus 300 because I never felt the need, as I am happy with my results from the 100 & 110. Users of the 300 have been pretty positive about its built-in TBC and image cleaning capabilities.

  • Premiere pro cc losing audio after save and close

Though I can see the wave form, audio won't play back after save, close and reopening of project.  Not every file is affected.  If I reimport track, audio will work again, but this is causing me to lose TONS of editing work when I have to start over again and then I'm afraid to close project.
    Any ideas?

I am having this same issue in PPro CC. I am editing multi-source material from interviews that were 2-3 hours long. The audio was recorded separately and the wave files ran the entire length of the interview. 44100kHz, 16-bit wav files. It happens after I reopen the project to only some (5%?) of the audio files I imported into the project, not all.
When I re-open the project, the audio data within the wav file will shift forward, so that the back end of the clip will show green/grey diagonal striping signifying the deadspace left when the audio data shifted forward. This is only visible when the entire file is in a sequence. In sequences where it is just a clip from the *shifted* file, the clip will either play dead space if the clip is from the end of the *shifted* file or audio from the wrong part of the file since it's time reference is shifted. The only work around is to import the file again and re-cut, but its killing my work flows. I'm editing 56 interviews, each of 2-3 hours and I can't waste time re-cutting my deliverables each time there's an a revision.

  • What's the highest quality audio format to import CD?

I've a 40 GB iPod. the system default to AAC. But i'm planning to buy a Shure e4c ear-plug and want to make sure i've the best quality audio format recording in the ipod.
could someone tell me what audio format yields the best audio quality to import CD? i'm only used less than 20GB of the ipod.
so i don't mind using the best audio format which may take the most space.

Simple answer: Apple Lossless. You will hear the song at the same audio quality level as on the CD--at about half the size.

  • Split clips in Final Cut Pro X are losing audio

So I am new to final cut and on my maiden voyage I came across an interesting problem:
Whenever I use the blade tool to split my clips I am losing audio on the rest of the clip. I am using footage uploaded from a P2 card. The raw footage has audio and I only lose it on the right side of wherever I use the tool. Anyone heard of this and know of a solution?

Thanks Tom, I may have partially figured this out...I just inserted a transition...and all of the video/audio went out of sync from that point on (in that clip). So, if I just don't use transitions, I'm OK...NOT! Let me see if I can get a screenshot.

Why do I keep losing audio/recorded tracks and SFX in my projects? I have tried: Saving as archive file/searching package contents etc. to no avail. Can anyone help? It keeps telling me 'Audio file not found', and seems to be different tracks in the same project each time too.

I also have this problem using Garageband in a school network situation when students open their project on one station, save it to their network drive, and later open it at a different station.  90% of the time there will be no issue, but sometimes audio files are lost. (Garageband '11, iMacs)
That sounds like it might be a failure of the students to perform a Save As and check Archive Project when they do. This asks GB to pull all the files it needs into the associated .band document rather than point to them externally (and then risk not having them be there).

  • .mov audio doesn't import

I've been importing a .mov file that has audio but the audio doesn't import. What should I do?

    According to Flash's Help…
"If you attempt to import a file format that is not supported on your system, a warning message appears that the operation cannot be completed. In some cases, Flash might import the video but not the audio in a file. For example, audio is not supported in MPG and MPEG files imported with QuickTime 7 on Mac OS. In such cases, a warning indicates that the audio portion of the file cannot be imported. You can import the video without sound."
So this may be an issue with the format of your particular video clip. If you have Quicktime Pro, you can try exporting the movie again using a different format for your sound options such as "AAC" or something.

  • TS2289 Audio won't import with video in iMovie 11

My iMovie 11 (9.0.4) is all of the sudden malfunctioning - it's not importing the audio with the video.  I've even tried importing clips that just a few days ago imported perfectly with the audio... but now the audio isn't importing.  So I know it's not a problem with the video file.  And I know that I have the volume up in iMovie... the intro w/ music that I have in iMovie is playing the audio perfectly.  The problem is with importing a video file (mp4).  I've literally imported hundreds of video clips into iMovie, and have never had this problem. My Mac is 10.6.8.  Any suggestions?

    I'm using imovie 9.0.9 with OSX 10.7.5
I also went through days of troubleshooting why some clips have sound and some don't.  All quicktime files have sound when played from quicktime.  But no sound when imported into imovie.
None of the Apple or User suggestions worked.  But I finally found a solution.  I'm working on a project with over 100 clips.  Everything was fine until I tried to import around 20 clips at the same time.  Some had sound some didn't.  Also, when done with each section, I exported the movies and deleted the thumbnails from the imovie clips window to clean up and organize the session. When re importing clips which previously had sound, the sound was gone but the image would play.
What I found was that any file which had been deleted from the clips window, was now in the Rejected Clips window.  Re importing the file would only show image but no sound.  Once I Move Rejected Clips to Trash, emptied the finder trash, and re imported the files, all files played with sound.
Back up original files on hard drive
    In imovie
    Select View Rejected Clips
Select Move Rejected Clips to Trash
    Empty Trash in Finder

  • Audio problem when importing video files.

    Hello everyone,
I just started using FCP X a few days ago for a university project and I seem to encounter an audio problem when importing videos in .mp4, .mov format or via the import from camera option.
Indeed I need to import videos in .mp4 and .mov format into FCP X. The import in itself is normal I can see my videos into the events/clips library and if I play them from the library I can hear the sound quite perfectly.
However, when I want to edit my videos and put it in the timeline, there is no audio. As a result I started to think that my videos could be the problem so I tried the option "import from camera" option using the Isight camera of my macbook pro but the same things happened. I could hear the sound from the events/clips library but not from the timeline (I can't see any audiowaves in the timeline).
I found a solution using quicktime and extracting the audio of the video in .m4a then importing the videos files and the audi files corresponding but it's a long process and a waste of time  as FCP X should be able to import the audio of my video into the timeline directly. Especially if it can read it from events/clips library.
I hope I explained myself clearly and you could help me resolve my problem.
    Cheers
    Christophe
    PS: I'm using FCP X version 10.0

    Update to 10.0.5.
You have an incorrect setting when you edit. Try trashing your preferences. Post screen shots of your timeline and toolbar.

  • Trouble with audio files when imported from audio window

after "bouncing" and audio region and importing it (onto a new track) into the arrange window from the audio window, I can't seem to control any parameters like volume and pan for the imported clip. Is this somehow locked?

sure....say I record a clip in track one with a bunch of plugins....export the clip to the audio region...then import back to the arrange...
First of all it won't let me play the clip in Track 2, but if I shift the clip to track 3 it'll play....BUT I can't control the volume or pan .....very strange. I hate freezing stuff...although I have been for ages....but if this works it'll be cool....
    Thanks...
