Losing calls, calls breaking up on an iPhone 5s
My phone has been dropping calls, with 3+ bars on it and sometimes I break up on people, again with 3 or more bars. What is going on?
The other day I was on the phone and my call dropped and I couldn't call back or receive calls. Is it the phone or the network? Why would it show that I have service, but won't give me any.
Strange, melm275. I know that before you stated that removing th SIM card was helpful but not this time around. Have you been able to try to do the "Reset Network Settings": http://vz.to/1djxfWq Performing Reset Network Settings erases cellular and Wi-Fi network settings, including saved networks, Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings. So all of your other information will still stay on the phone, such as your pictures, contacts, and apps. Now if this is still having issues after doing the reset, I would suggest going to a local Verizon corporate store and get the sim card replaced. I switched from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5s and now my iPhone signal strength is 3 bars and my calls are breaking up? what gives?
I live on top of a hill in a major metropolitan city and my carrier has always been Verizon and my call signal strength has always been 5 bars and occassionally on a cloudy rainy day I had 4 bars. Since upgrading to the 5s my call signal strength at my home has never gone past 3 bars even when Wi-Fi is connected. When W-Fi is turned off and LTE service kicks in, the call signal strength flutters between 2-3 bars and if I am on a call, the person on the other end is telling me I am breaking up. This has never happened with my iPhone 4, my iPhone 4s. Is anyone else noticing signal problems?I am also having the same exact issue. I had an iPhone 4S with Sprint servince and always had at least 4 bars of service (4 dots after iOS7 upgrade) and I am now fluctuating between 1 and 2 dots on my new iPhone 5S. I am also having people I am on the phone with tell me that I sound like I'm in a tunnel and or that I am breaking up. I am also hearing the breakup of voice service even when speaking to someone on a landline. I took my first iPhone 5S back to the store and traded it in for a new one and am having the same exact problem with this new 5S phone. I was told by the salesman at the store that the problem was due to the 5S is using different towers than the 4S and that the new towers for the 5S were still being implemented. Do I know this to be true or necesarily believe this? No. Do I hope it's true or that Apple will come up with a fix for this problem in the very, very near future? Yes. Apple, what is going on with my service? It's obvious that it's happening to users from all of the major American networks.

Call Forwarding Breaks with iOS 8.3 Update on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with AT&T
Ever since the iOS 8.3 Update, call forwarding is no longer working on my iPhone 6 Plus. I have spent dozens of hours troubleshooting with both AT&T Advanced Business Technical Support as well as many hours with top technicians from Apple at my local Genius Bars.
This is a critical bug for me as I used to use the call forwarding option multiple times a day, EVERY DAY, because when I am in certain business locations my mobile phone gets no reception and calls go right to voice mail. I need to have them forwarded to the land line I'm located at.
APPLE, PLEASE HELP!!!
I've done extensive testing, and this seems definitely to be related to Apple iOS 8.3, and it seems to be specific to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus ONLY.
To illustrate the EXACT problem:
A: Settings -> Phone -> Call Forwarding
B. Call Forwarding - Turn on
C. Enter Number and return to previous screen by touching the blue "Call Forwarding" to return to previous screen.
D. Call forwarding button is "green" for a split second, then returns to previous OFF state and no forwarding number is displayed. DOES NOT WORK.
NOT AN AT&T PROBLEM. IF SOMEONE IS EXPERIENCING THIS WITH OTHER CARRIERS PLEASE COMMENT HERE.
Further validation this is isolated to iOS 8.3 on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus ONLY and not the sim card from AT&T...
Here are the latest steps I did with my AT&T sim card and my wife AT&T sim card (she has an iPhone 5s):
1. Removed my sim and put it in the 5s. The phone said that a "carrier update" was required and I selected "NO" to that prompt. Call forwarding functionality worked as expected on the 5s running iOS 8.3
2. I removed the sim from the 5s and re-inserted it. This time I selected "YES" to do the carrier update to eliminate that as a variable, and the call forwarding functionality still worked as expected.
3. I then placed my wifes sim in my 6 Plus. Call forwarding functionality does NOT work on the 6 Plus (was not prompted for carrier update). Also, keep in mind this is my second phone (Apple provided me with a new iPhone 6 Plus when they couldn't resolve the problem at the Genius Bar after hours of troubleshooting).
Note: I did one additional test which as interesting: I put my sim in the 5s and turned call forwarding "on". Then, I put the sim back into my 6 Plus. The calls were still being forwarded to the number I put in while it was in the 5s, but the call forwarding interface in the 6 Plus showed that it was NOT forwarding calls. I could not turn OFF the call forwarding from the 6 Plus and had to put the sim back into the 5s in order to turn off the call forwarding.
If anyone has an update on this, or any other suggestions please advise! This is a critical issue for me as when I travel and when I am in poor areas of reception I need to forward calls. This is a featured I was using multiple times a day, EVERY DAY.
APPLE????????? HELP!!!!!!Yes, I am dealing with this right now on at&t with a 6 plus. I've been down the same road as you. I got it to work with a windows phone yesterday but not my 6 plus when I switched back to the iPhone. My wifes 6 works fine. I believe it is an at&t issue and not an 8.3 issue. After dealing through several levels of support at at&t, they are telling me it has to do with their transition to hd voice. Some people are having this issue because they are updating their system and some peoples phone profile, on phones that have hd voice capabilities, are not getting added to their line and call forwarding will not work without it. I have a trouble ticket open to their engineering dept and they promise it will work for me on or before the 24th of april. Engineering has to build my phones profile so call forwarding will work with my iPhone.
This is frustrating because like you, I need to forward my calls because I have no signal in my office and need to forward to another phone so I can get my calls. If at&t would quit dragging their feet and enable wifi calling, this wouldn't be an issue for me. I would suggest you put more pressure on at&t and escalate this until it gets resolved. Or put your sim in a phone that does not have hd voice capability and see if it works then.
Good luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be fixed for me on or before the 24th. We'll see.
EDIT: I see you did put it in another phone and it worked. That backs up that the issue is at&t and their hd voice upgrades. They had no explanation as to why some work and some don't, but have them make sure a profile for your phone is on the line. If not, they'll need to build one for the phone so that it''l work. At least that's the story for now. Like I said, I'll know more in a day or two. -

My iphone 4S has problem in making and receiving the calls. While making the call , call fails and netwrok disappears. Like wise no voice is heard for incoming calls. This happened after return from the overseas travel.

I'm using same icloud and same apple ID on two iphones. Now i get calls from same number on both iphones at the same time. How to turn off that?
Apple ID's are not device specific, so when you changed it on the iPad 2 it changed it on the iPhone 4 as well, since it's the same account still. What you need to do is create a second Apple ID (so you'll have two accounts, one for iPhone 4 and a seperate one for iPad 2).
To create a new Apple ID on your iPad 2:
1) Go into Settings > Store.
2) If you are already signed in, tap your Apple ID on the screen and you will be given a few options, one of which is to sign out of your account.
3) After you sign out, now click the "Sign in" button.
4) Tap "Create New Apple ID" and follow the instructions on-screen. -
How can I lock out my iCloud?
Because of forget my old password I have create a new Apple ID
But when I wan to log out my iCloud,it call me to logout Find My iPhone.
I had already forget the password that why I create a new Apple ID.

You can change this from: Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Sign out and sign in with new ID, but you will have to pay again to download apps that you already have in your old account. Or leave it as it is to share purchases with your son. -
Hi! My phone speaker is not working, so I cant hear people when they call me. I bought my iphone 4s con February 2013 in the Grand Central (NYC - USA) Apple Store. I would like to know if I can take it to an Apple Store in Spain so they can fix it or change it. Or I need to find a way to take it to the US, where I bought it.

My iPhone have the problem about calling and answer the call. When I use my iPhone to call I can't hear anything from my iPhone but the person that I call can answer it but when answer both of us can't hear anything and when I put my iPhone to my face the screen is still on and when I quit the phone application and open it again it will automatic call my recent call. And when my friends call me my iPhone didn't show anything even the missed call I'm only know that I missed the call from messages from carrier. Please check these problem I restored my iPhone for 4 time now in this week. I lived in Hatyai, Songkhla,Thailand and many people in my city have this problem.
Who have this problem??Apple isnt here. this is a user based forum for technical questions. The solution is to restart, reset, and restore as new which is in the manual after that get it replaced for hard ware failure. if your within your one year warranty its replaced if it is out of the warranty then it is 199$

It sounds like you are unable to see your contacts in the phone, but have confirmed they are still at http://www.icloud.com. I would next try these troubleshooting steps from the article named:

If you're using iOS 7, quit and restart the Contacts app on your iOS device:
Press the Home button twice to see preview screens of the apps you have open.

Turn iCloud Contacts off and back on:

How do you set a pre-recorded message to play when a caller calls your iPhone before you pick up? My office is trying to use an iPhone for our business, and we want to give a brief introductory message that the caller will hear, before we pick up the line. Are there ay apps for this? Thanks!
There is no setting for that on the phone. Some carriers provide ringback tones, which play instead of the caller hearing a ring. But I am not aware of an app that would play a message prior to you picking up the phone. The amount of time before you pick up is not a constant, and if it lasts too long, then the call would go to voicemail.

I bought an iphone for my daughter and was unaware that we should have a seperate appleid for each.Now we share an id and get eachothers contacts and face time calls. I recently bought another iphone and want to change ids without loosing items and music. How do I do this? The new phone is a 5.
All purchases are always going to be associated to the ID that was used to purchase/download them.
If you create an ID for your daughter you will want to check everywhere it is used to make sure you are not sharing messages and stuff. These would be iTunes/app store, iCloud, iMessages, and FaceTime.
Go thru settings and find all mention of your ID. -

My call reject can't work in iPhone 5
Hi,
My call reject can't work in iPhone 5..!! I can't even c the icon( to swap up) when incoming call.I am/was having the exact same problem. I would be in a call and my phone would "beep" like there was an incoming call but no option to ignore or swap nor does it display who is calling. I would continue to hear the "beep" until the caller either hung up or went to voice mail.
The secondary problem was this.... if they didn't leave a VM, my phone does not even show a missed call therefore I have no way of knowing who it was that was calling.
So I turned my phone off and back on. Now I have the options to ignore or swap the call. However, now what happens is if I am in a call and I hit the ignore button, I continue to hear the "beep" like the call is incoming and the caller does not get sent to my voice mail!!!!!!
Very frustrating. This all just started happening for me 2 days ago.
Oh and p.s. I still haven't upgraded to iOS 7. -

ATT cell service. Was not making or receiving any calls that I know of. Phone was going back and forth betw service & searching....
ATT customer service had no idea, suggested contacting Apple.When I first bought my iPhone 4S iOS 5.0, I was able to set a repeat reminder for a new SMS. I was able to choose 1/2/5/10/15 minutes for it to chime again if I hadn't checked it. The setting was in Settings > Messages.
However, after I upgraded to 5.0.1 the setting is no longer there. I would love to be able to turn OFF the repeat reminder. -
My iphone 4s turns off and restarts itself a few seconds or minutes after when I establish a FaceTime call. I've tried "Restore iPhone" from iTunes but the same thing keeps happening. Any solution?
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Also, if this only happens with one Wi-Fi network, power cycle that Wi-Fi router.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order.
