Losing connection using facetime and wifi drops off. Why?
Try connecting on facetime and when i try it says connection lost and my wifi goes off for a few seconds then comes back on. I tryed turn facetime on and off and it works once. then i try it again and connection is lost and wifi does the same thing.
Yes, I went to settings and turned wifi off. Thought at first I wasnt letting it set for a sec or two before shutting the iPad off. so now I wait like a minute or two before shutting the iPad down. didnt seem to help. Tried actually logging out of facebook when I was done with it, worked for about 4 days, and now it has started coming on and coming online again,, I went through my notifications and shut things off, Well see if it works. thank you.

facetime... when you go to contacts and choose who you want to call, you'll see their info and the options by how you want to contact... you'll see facetime, press it and make the call, your contact will receive the facetime call and if they want to except...
wifi... whenever you choose a wifi which is available and you click on it for the first time, it will ask for a password/passcode if its password protected. when you see the list of wifi networks available you'll notice a little PAD-LOCK icon which means its password protected. -
When my Ipad has been disconnected from wifi and shut off, it keeps coming back on and online. It can happen in 10 minutes, or hours later, happens irregulary. Have noticed when it happens, I get nofications from facebook of comments and or posts.. I can switch the wifi off, switch the iPad off and then set it beside me, hour later it dings, i have noficiations of face book things, and its online again.. why is this and how can I stop it from happening?

Why does my iPad2 suddenly keep losing connection on FaceTime and tries to constantly reconnect?
Does it happen anywhere that you use FaceTime or only in your home WiFi network? If it happens with your home network, have you tried power cycling your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
Turn WiFi off and on in the settings. Reset the network settings.
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps at all? -
Using FaceTime and iMessage when connected to wifi - am I correct this is free and not charged by mobile supplier?
FAcetime and imessage uses internet connection. If you are turning it on only when you are connected to wifi then it is free. However if you leave it on and you are already away from the network then it will be using your data which is provided by your carrier. It will be costly then

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

On your Mac, launch FaceTime and then go to the menubar for FaceTime->Preferences.
Within Preferences for FaceTime, look for the entries under "You can be reached for calls at:" and click on "Add Another Email..."
Add another email address.

I'm trying to update my iOS to 6.0, using iTunes (with my 4s connected via USB and WiFi is on also). I get a message that 'there are purchased items on my iPhone that have not been transferred to my iTunes library. Yet, I can't find those items! Help! I have an iPad 4th generation and when I updated to iOS 7 I can't use FaceTime. Every time I tried to sign in I get a message asking me to check my Network connection. FaceTime and iMessage are the only application that give me this message.
Try Reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset. -
My iMessage and Facetime won't activate, says waiting for activation. All photos and contacts are restored, using email and wifi only, no service. Only issue is date and time will not automatically set.

So you have no cellular service but are on Wi-Fi yet iMessage and Facetime are waiting for activation.

can anybody please advise me what needs to be done to avoid WIFI drop-offs every half an hour or 1 hours.
I use voip phoe calls a lot using my WIFI, However my AirPort WIFI connection drops-off while I am in the middle of WIFI VOIP calls. This is causing significant disturbance in my family.
Please assist.
In details, I have extended my WIFI range using 2 Apple Airport Extreme Base Station.
Main Base is - A1408 9 (5th Gen), and I have extended my WIFI in my L shape house by connecting another Apple AiPort A1354 ( 4th Gen) with AA1408.
Note1:

Note2: these drop-offs never occurred when I had only 1 Apple AirPort Extreme Base station WIFI
I think, this Auto switching causing the slight drop outs in my Wifi when I am on the VOIP call.

When I open "markets" from the homepage, it comes up but drops off after a few seconds and

My iMessage and FaceTime are both working, but it still says "Waiting for activation.." right under both the FaceTime and iMessage settings. Under the "Receive At" setting, my email address is entered in.
