Losing ftp userid and password for all sites

DW CS5 Version 11 Build 4913 on Snow Leopard 10.6.3. My Dreamweaver was updated yesterday I believe. Today, all my sites lost their ftp userids and passwords. I put information back in and now, once again, the information is missing. I don't know what to make of this. Is the problem related to the update or is it just post hoc ergo sum. I have a slight suspicion that Skype (one release behind) might have something to do with this.
What would you do?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

I think the  problem may be solved. I cleaned out the Mac keychain of related entries, and updated Skype. Interestingly, the Skype keychain entry  had information for one of the web sites. Hmmm.

  • HT1386 How do I create one Apple ID and iTunes user name and password for all of my Apple products: iPad, iPhone, and iPod plus iTunes on my PC?

How do I create one Apple ID and iTunes user name and password for all of my Apple products: iPad, iPhone, and iPod plus iTunes on my PC?

Yes, I do have multiple devices and it appeared to me that every time I tried to sync or log onto iTunes, the password was incorrect.  Consequently, I was and am constantly changing it.  Wouldn't it be nice if Apple would simply say that you only need one Apple ID and one password regardless of the number of Apple devices you intend to sync via iTunes.
Barring the above, how about a way to merge all of the Apple IDs and passwords into one.

  • Firefox had saved my login name and password for a site, when I changed the password, FF won't ask to save/update it so I have to enter it manually now. How do I get it to prompt me in FF7.01?

Using FF7.01 on a HP Pavilion dv6775us laptop running Vista Home (updated continuously)
The site owner changed the rules in order to improve password security so I was required to create a new password. When I did so I was not prompted by FF7.01 to save the new password.
When I next logged into the site, FF remembered the user name but presented the old (invalid) password. I was forced to manually enter the new password, but again was not prompted to save it to FF.
I then went into FF Security, viewed the saved passwords and deleted the entry for the site in question. I expected that when I logged into that site the next time I would be asked if I wanted to save the username and password. I wasn't.
I then exited from FF and relaunched it and again logged into the site in question. I was not prompted to save the username or password.
How do I force FF to ask for and then save the username and password?

    Thank you for your reply.
My problem isn't removing my log-in name and password for a site.
The problem is I already had the log-in name and password saved by FF, but I was required by the site to change the password. FF did not recognize that it had changed and refuses to prompt me to save the new password.
After several attempts to force the prompt, I deleted the site from the Saved Password list, hoping that the next time I entered my log-in name and password on that site FF would ask if I wanted to save both. That did not happen even after exiting FF and relaunching it.
So, right now FF will not save my log-in name and password for a site that it used track for me. Given the complexity of the new password, I really do not want to manually enter it every time I use the site.

  • How can I get Safari to remember my ID and password for a site?

How can I get Safari to remember my ID and password for a site?
Specifically, I would like it to remember my 14 digit library account on:  http://polaris.plano.gov/Polaris/logon.aspx
Firefox on my old PC was able to do this no problem.  I have recently switched over to Apple.  Thanks for your help!
FYI, I am on a new Mac Mini with OS X 10.8.3 and Safari 6.0.4.

Some websites request the web browser to NOT autofill the username, password.  It is possible the library site is doing that. Your previous firefox on the PC may have been sufficiently old to not be able to handle such a request.  There are password managers you can get to over-ride such things (search Safari extensions).

  • UserID and password  for DBA

I installed SQL Developer but I do not know what is the userID and password for DBA

Pl post your OS details, along with a link to what you downloaded and installed. SQL Developer is a client developer tool - it does not include a database. Did you install any database software and create a database ? Or already have a database that you can connect to ?

*Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
*Highlight an entry in the drop down list
*Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.
You can remove a saved password here:

  • BSP - UserId and Password for Internal Users - Anonymous for other users

    Hello,
We developed an application via BSP's. This application can be accessed by two kind of users.
    1. External Users, with should access the page without using a userId and password.
    2. Internal Users, they will have more authorisation and need to specify their userId and Password.
How can we accomplish this? I tried internal aliases, but can't get it to work properly.
In the first service 'zbsp' I didn't specify a userId and password in sicf.
Then I created an internal alias 'zbsp' referring to this 'zbsp'. In this alias I specified a userId and Password, but the system still asks for a userId and Password. (and after logging in the system gives the following error: The application name in URL .../bc/bsp/sap/zbsp2/uat_report.htm is invalid.)
What did I do wrong? Or are there other ways to accomplish this?
    Greetings,
    Bart

Take a look at the following mesaages that discussed the whole SSO and SSO2 ticket logins.
As for a way to handle the two different login types. Well first and formost - active the SSO Tickets on your system.  Set your BSP up for that.
Then create a new starting page with an alias to the pöublic section for BSP's in your system. On this page make two links.
For your external users - one that redirects to your BSP passing the user and password in the url for the "read only external user" - that's the sap-user=name here&sap-password=passwordhere.
For your internal people give them simply the link to the BSP which when they click it will see no user name and password and redirect them to the BSP login.
Make sure you setup the BSP login according to SAP note 517860 and follow the instructions from http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1d/13c73cee4fb55be10000000a114084/frameset.htm using the supplied SYSTEM_PUBLIC)
It's a bit basic but it works, we do it
Oh and setting up the system for the SSO (transaction sso2) is very very simple!!

  • Where to set UserID and Password for NFS file share in Central File Adapter

    Hi All,
Does anyone know if/where it is possible to set the userID and password if you want to connect to an NFS fileshare with the central XI30 file adapter?
    Cheers,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
The file adapter uses user ID SAPSERVICE... with the addition of the system ID of your SAP XI system. So if your system ID is EXD the user id which needs read/write access should be SAPSERVICEEXD.
    Have fun

  • Safari user name and password for secure sites

I just sent the following to "Mac OS X Feedback"
Some secure sites like brokers, e.g., Ameritrade, do no allow autofill in Safari for the user name and password. In fact Safari does not even ask if you want to remember the user name and password just entered for such sites.
I would like to suggest that something be done for users in such cases:
    1) A dialog box comes up warning that this website does not allow autofill.
    2) A suggestion is made as to what network setting needs to be changed to allow autofill to work
    3) A fix in Safari to take care of this problem
    4) Add something to Safari help
Does anyone have a work around for this problem?
Mac Mini (Intel Core Duo)   Mac OS X (10.4.5)
Mac Mini (Intel Core Duo)   Mac OS X (10.4.5)
Mac Mini (Intel Core Duo)   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Think about what would happen if someone gained access to your Mac, say while you were briefly away from your desk or whatever. They launch Safari, go to the login web page of (for instance) your bank & discover that autofill has helpfully filled in your user name & password so all they have to do to get access to your accounts is click the login button.
From there, they can transfer all your assets to some other account (theirs!) or invest in FlyByNight.com or whatever -- they can do anything your password lets you do with any password-protected account ... anything!
Take this a step further. Say you have enabled auto-login to your primary account at startup, or have used an easy-to-guess account password for it. Someone steals your computer ... & with it potential access to all your online accounts with autofill entries.
Not a pretty picture, is it?

  • Firefox will not remember multiple user names and passwords for same site, yet it used to do so. Any ideas?

I belong to several publishers website, and I often have to access more than one author's account, which requires that I use their user name (usually an email address) and their password. In the past, whenever I double clicked on the space for user name, I would see all of those user names appear that I use for that site. When I clicked on the one I wanted, the stored password would appear in the password window, and I could log in. Now, it only shows me the most recent user name that I have used. I don't understand how to make it do what it used to do. Any ideas?

Is it possible that that name is stored in a "remember me" cookie ?
*"Remove the Cookies" from that site: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • I have tried to get it to remove autocomplete for certain sites. I have removed history and done individual deletes and autocomplete for all sites comes back every time. Please help!

I have tried to get it to remove autocomplete for certain sites. I tried to remove them all. I tried deleting individual entries. It will not remove autocomplete select unless you just tell it not to show autocomplete.

Are you talking about the location bar?
Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks and those entries can't be removed from the location bar drop down list with the Delete key.<br />
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.<br />
That will open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.<br />

  • Common Apple ID and Password for All Devices and Applications

I have devloped a plethora of Apple IDs and Passwords with iCloud, Apple Store, iTunes, Apple Support, etc., etc. and on iPad, iPhone, and MacBook. Where and how do I start to establish a single Apple ID and a single Password which will work with all the devices and applications?

Can't help with iOS devices, since I don't own any and have only one AppleID. Call AppleCare and let them work it out for you. FWIW, the AppleID system is a bit bolloxed, since one can't eliminate or transfer them around. Good luck.

  • How do I save more than one username and password for a site?

    <blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>
    Please continue here: [[/questions/918629]]</blockquote>
I manage two online calendar accounts under one website (both account admin centers actually have their own URL but the main root of the webpage is the same). My "user ID" (which is my e-mail address) is the same for both accounts.
Firefox used to associate the user ID and password with the ENTIRE URL so, in effect, it would remember them for BOTH admin centers. Now it seems to only remember the main root webpage (www.samplepage.com instead of www.samplepage.com/adminloginA).
How do I get it to remember the ENTIRE URL instead of just the root? I need it to remember both usernames and passwords.
    Thanks!

That is not possible with the Firefox password manager. You can only save a user name and its password once for a specific domain, so if the name is the same then it doesn't work.

  • HT5621 I have several apple devices, three are mine and the other ones belong to my little children.  I use the same ID and password for all the devices.  Is this a good idea? Do I need to change the apples ID?

I use the same apple ID for all my devices, 2 iphones, 2 itouch, 1 macbook pro, 2 ipads.  Becuse I have small children, can I change that and still, have control, and don´t need to buy the same things serveral times.

It is something I would avoid if possible.   I would want to educate my children to think possessively and therefore of security.  Yes, I know you are all family but at the end of the day you wouldn't want your children to be blaming each other for any problems that arise.  Well, that's how I see it, for what it is worth.

  • SECURITY ISSUE! Userid and password for email stored as raw text in dump file!

If you have set up email notifications, the dump for the ix2, possibly others as well, lists your email address, username, and password in readable text in the \procs\ps.out file.  This is a blatent security violation and needs to be fixed immediately!

Interesting...I have not been able to duplicate the issue.  I have reconfigured email notifications multiple times and collected a dump and do not see the info in the ps.out log.  However, it was in the very first dump I collected off of the ix2.  Here is a screenshot of what was in there...I have of course blacked out secure info.
Its possible that the smtpsend process was hung and thats why it showed up in this log.  I also tried to duplicate this by unchecking/checking the send email notification box and clicking apply multiple times while a dump was being generated.  I no longer see what I saw before...I suppose it was a fluke, but this really should be looked into.
