This started happening when I got my 5. speaker system ( Logitech Z-5500 ) sometimes I would lose all sound from the right channel ( both front and rear and sometimes including center ) and sometimes the volume is at an extremely low level even if the sound card output is at 00% now fixing this is either a reboot or a change of audio mode Game to Ent ( vice versa ) Is creative working on a permanent fix for this one ? Im using X-Fi Extreme Music and Windows 7 64bit 8GB of ram

Stereo is something else. It is a sound field where the individual elements are located through varying the amount of electrical energy for each element delivered to each channel.
What you have is a mono source that should be panned to center. This will equally divide the signal so it will be delivered out both the L & R channels.
Load the original clip to the VIEWER and set the PAN to 0 (zero). Delete any duplicates. They are unnecessary.

Power Mac G5 Audio is outputting only the right channel

I have an audio problem with my PowerPc Audio card, I presume. It is only outputting the right channel. I have a set of computer speakers and when I go into System Preferences and move the balance slider, there is only sound coming from the right channel. Absolutely nothing from the left.
I found this problem when editing in FCP and needing to do a split track with VO on channel 1 and Nats and music on channel 2. I could see the meters showing the audio output from channel 1 but no sound coming through the Mac's left channel output.
Also, I have a DeckLink extreme card in my system and when I test the L-R channel output I get the same problem. I do not know if the decklink is somehow using the Mac audio card for help with its output. I would think that it is using its own hardware for generating the audio output from the card.
Hardware issue? Time for a Mac Genius repair? Don't know if there is any workarounds or fixes before I go that route. Any help would be appreciated.

No I didn't but I run my Mac's output into an analog mixer and then out to my speakers.
When outputting through channel 2 only, both speakers work, yet when I pan to channel 1 the sound drops out. As I pan from full channel 2, where both speakers are up full, you can hear the sound fade out.
Also, I got the Deck Link card to work through my mixer. The L and R channels are outputting through separate inputs in the mixer and work independently and correctly. I even changed out the mini stereo cable just in case and still no left channel out of the Mac.
Very weird! I've even repaired and defragged my system disk in case it is some sort of corrupted code. Just grasping at straws before I take it to a Mac Genius.

Why is the entire song is in the right channel?!

I thought my headphones were broken!
In a only single file in GarageBand, the entire song is in the right channel. All of the tracks but 2 are software instruments that I recorded from a MIDI keyboard. The other 2 are loops from the library. Every track is panned at 0 - left & right. I checked the master track and there's no pan option. If I select a new software instrument for recording it's only in the right channel.
If I open a completely new file and do the same thing, it's panned normally, in both left and right. Everything else on the computer is in stereo - itunes, the duck when I change the volume, you name it. Just this one file - NOTHING in the left. If I pan anything to the left, it can't be heard.
I tried saving the song as a new file - same thing. I created a new song - and the sound is fine - stereo.
Is my song file corrupt? Is there something I can try? Am I going mad?

i think you probably have mouse that can scroll (magic mouse, etc). there is an invisible pan knob on the master track, if you place the cursor to the right of the popUp menu for the Master Volume, Pitch, etc, and scroll your mouse, you'll see numbers appear describing which way the Master track is being panned.

Using the Sony CX550VE to import 1080p-Files the right channel it louder then the left channel. Using iMovie everything is fine. Do you know this problem?

Go to Control panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management and allocate remaining disk space.
OK, i can see around 22 GB of unallocated disk space. i will allocate the remaining disk space.
Check Volume from mixer settings, cable connections, Volume on your speakers.
I have checked and i've the sam problem. the volume in my speakers is maximum and no change. the sound level is VERY low. My speakers works because i have the test in my other PC.

Satellite A100-532: microphone sound volume is extremely low

I just bought Satellite A100-532 and I have a problem with sound input. I can't use microphone to chat with my friend on msn or even to record my voice on to the hard drive because the sound volume is extremely low.
I tried turning up all the volume on the desktop and on the RealTek HD sound manager but did not help. Microphone is working perfectly fine as I can hear myself well on the speakers.
Normally, with my old laptop (M30 series) I could use the Sound Recorder to record music which I play using Winamp or WinMediaPlayer but for this new laptop it does not detect any sound at all..just silence.
Please advise.

You should check also the volume controls in the "Sound & Audio devices" in control panel.
In the "Volume" tab please go to "Advanced".
Then a "Volume control" should appear.
Check if all controls are set to high level.
Furthermore enter the "options" and "properties" and enable all volume controls.
Change also to "recording" and enable there also all controls.
Additional you should check if the all "recording controls" are set to high.
Use "Advanced" option of mic and play around with the mic boost settings.
I'm sure you will find the best settings for your mic recording

EQ in the right channel only

Yesterday I had my 4 year old son as assistent.
Using Behringer 2442.
After the session I noticed that he had raised
the EQ mid to +6dB and the Freq stood in position 800 hz on the mixer.
It was 2 monotracks panned L & R. It was only for right channel that he EQed.
The left channel is neutral. Is there any way to restore this recording
in Logic?

Luckily for you the "Pan" control in Logic's mixer is actually a "Balance" control when using stereo tracks, which I am guessing you're using.
So if you simply make a new stereo channel in the arrangement, and make a copy of the offending region onto it (so there are two side identical regions). Then in the mixer pan the original left and the new duplicate right, you should hear exactly what you were hearing before making the duplicate, but now you can apply an EQ to one of the channels and it will only affect the left or right channel independently.
Next time check your employee's qualifications!

My pc sound level is very low on playback from dvd and most websites even though its at 100 percent

the playback level on dvd and most video streams is very low.(youtube seems ok)This is my second pavillion g7 w/ windows 7 .The first had a defective fan but the sound level was ok and there was a graphic eq section for sound control with other output options.I've yet to find that area on this pc in the month I,ve had it even though their identical computers.I,m at a loss for the cause of the problem.Headphones work fine but are annoying.

i use professional studio monitors to monitor the audio
the issue , is if i turn up the audio it will clip on premieres main output. so i cant turn it up any more.
the specific moment i took the screenshot the audio volume was at -18db, but even if it was up at 0db it would not even reach half volume on my computers main output
this is the case regardless of the nature of the audio, be it stock music, dialogue, or sound effects maybe there is a hidden master output that im unaware of

B590 - Sound w/ headphones extremely low

Hi! I have looked around, but haven't found a solution. I just got this laptop and I am already running into problems. When connecting the headphones the sound is extremely low. I maxed out the sound bars, but it doesn't work. Also went into the control panel and checked the volume equalizer - to no avail. Does anybody know what to do?? Hope you can help.

I am still attempting to fix this issue. I have did a fresh install of windows 8, tried installing drivers from Toshiba, realtek drivers, also assorted other fixes that would seem to help. It does it both out of speakers and through headphones. You will be watching a movie, video, etc, randomly the sound level will drop to where you need to crank the app volume up over 80% and the system volume up above 80-90% and then you can mostly hear it. The only fix seems to be closing the application that is using the sound device (tried media player, media player classic, winamp, and Toshiba DVD player) then reopening the application which resets it, it may not drop again for the rest of the video or might drop immediately. Trying to use the laptop to listen to music and closing the lid can cause it to drop, but like I said it is random. Headphones, speakers, doesn't matter. Anyone else having this trouble? I use this laptop all the time therefore I really cannot be without it for weeks just for a diagnostics program to see the system is fine and still having it happen when I get it back.

The analog output of the AirPort Express is approximately the same as a CD player. It is definitely compatible with a millivolt input. Don't use a phono input.
Make sure the master volume in iTunes is at its maximum setting. Remote speakers can have their own volume setting in iTunes, so check that also:

You have my empathy! This used to be obvious in versions before Mavericks. Does Apple's silence on this mean they are becoming more Microsoft-like and removing convenient features? That the question of 8 people has gone unanswered for 8 months is unconscionable.
