Losing WiFI on MacBook when using AirPlay to Apple TV

When I use AirPlay to 'Extend Desktop' from my 2014 MacBook Pro to my Apple TV, about two thirds of the time my MBP will lose its WiFI connection to my Airport Extreme. So AirPlay and Extend Desktop works fine, but my MacBook no longer has access to the Internet. The WiFi signal strength icon on the MBP menubar just goes grey. If I click on the menubar icon, it just says "Wi-Fi: AirPlay" rather than the name of my network.
It's like AirPlay just takes over my WiFi connection to connect my MBP to my Apple TV, forcing out the WiFI connection to my base station. But again, one third of the time my MBP will remain connected to the WiFi and the Internet when using AirPlay. And other devices, like my iPad, always remained connected to the Extreme and can access the Internet.
I've been scouring the Internet looking for solutions or even other people having this issue, but no luck so far. Thought I'd ask here to see if anybody had any suggestions.

Finally got a chance to test this out. Saddly enough, it didn't work.
I deleted the movie from iTunes (no hard delete), then added it again. Same problem :-/
And yes, they are all saved in the same location (Movies folder).
Any other suggestions???

I believe if you go to settings> sounds... you can select where you want the sound to come from. So there you can set it to the "internal speakers" and then plug in your computer speakers.

Certain Videos from iTunes Hang when using Airplay to Apple TV

I've been using Airplay to watch videos from iTunes on my compter to my Apple TV (2). It works great for the most part, but I've been having issues with a small number of my videos.
Whenever I try to play these videos, iTunes will connect perfectly fine and I will see the loading "circle" on the bottom left (on the seek bar), but the video never plays. What's really strange is that if I seek to any part of the movie, the current frame will load (so I can see the video as if it was paused), but I will continually see the loading circle and it never plays. Very annoying.
Any ideas?

Open AirPort Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
From the AirPort Utility menu bar click AirPort Utility > Preferences
Deselect: Monitor AirPort base stations for problems

No sound when using Airplay for Movies on Apple TV

For reasons unknow, when I try to stream full length movies (Lion King and Nemo bought from iTunes) from my iPhone or Macbook Pro using Airplay, there is no sound. When I stream smaller movies, like Boundin' the Pixar Short, there is no problem.
Side note 1: Why do purchased movies not show up like purchased TV shows on Apple TV? I feel like I shouldn't have to use Airplay for movies if I don't need to use it for TV shows I buy.
Side note 2: For some Netflix movies played directly from Apple TV there is no sound. Other movies work fine and the movies that work or don't work seem to change day to day.

Apple has not negotiated the rights to allow this is the assumed reason.
We can't even play Purchased music or TV Shows from the cloud in UK.

Intermittent issues will point to a local network/wifi issue.
Reboot ATV and router, make sure both are up to date
Try ethernet
The home sharing connection will cut out if the iMac goes to sleep.

Ok, so I'll try again. Thank you for the idea of looking in Home Videos, which is where all my "lost" videos are listed.
Is there a way to get them to display under their appropriate genre in the Movie section, which is where they all were listed prior to the os6 update? It does me no good to have hundreds of movies categorized in iTunes via a genre only to have them appear in Home Videos on ATV. These are not "home movies." They are legit mp4 movies that worked great under v5.

Do you get an "HDCP error"?
Since the last ATV software update, I have had problems playing You Tube content from the iPad to the ATV using airplay, yet the same content from the You Tube channel on the ATV plays fine. I get the dreaded "HDCP error" which is nonsense, as YouTube content does not have this protection. Netflix also gives the same error. (I have posted seperately about this problem.)
I have had a couple of years of fault-free playing with my setup, the only thing that has changed is the Apple ATV software. Ergo, they need to fix whatever bug they introduced. None of the recommended "fixes" have worked.

Checkerboard when using airplay

Everytime I try to play anything on iTunes using Airplay I continually see a black and white checkerboard on both displays however can still hear the sound fine.
I have a brand new MacBook Pro with Retina Display and Apple TV with the latest OS, iTunes and updates and this is very frustrating.
Please fix Apple as I am pulling my hair out !!!!!!!

Our Apple TV loses connectivity to our wireless network while using Airplay from our iPad or iPhone 5. This started occurring after the latest iOS update. We are able to wirelessly stream movies from iTunes without any problem. This issue occurs only when using AirPlay. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a:
new MBPr 15" late 2013 with dedicated graphics card
new airport extreme base station
3rd generation apple tv
iPhone 5s
200mb download speed (not important, as streaming video on your local network has nothing todo with outside bandwidth)
All equipment is up to date software wise. Airplay mirroring from my laptop to my apple tv is ok. I get frequent lag, pixelation, audio skip (every 10 mins or so).
I'm using the 5ghz specturm to connect to the airport express so shouldn't have any inteference from my neibours (accordiing to iStumbler i'm the only person with a 5ghz setup using channel 30). I've tried connecting apple tv wirelessly and wired. No issues streaming from my iPhone or an iPad!
Surprisingly, using apps such as Beemer or Air Video Server on my MBP work better than native mirroring when it comes to video play back.
Strange when you think how Air Video works:
Video file lives on MBP
iPhone connects to laptop
Video plays on iPhone and is sent to Apple TV via Air Mirroring
Rather than:
Video played on laptop
Video sent to Apple TV
Seems bizzare that my iPhone can handle better streaming than my pro laptop.

I have done this for several Titles, using Photoshop and a Layer Mask, that gets "erased," revealing the letters. My Titles were of "handwriting with chalk" on a blackboard, so I could keep the edge of that Layer Mask, looking more like the "chalk." Photoshop also makes it easy to output Layer Comps for each "step" in the handwriting process. IIRC, I did about 5 Frames per Layer Comp on Import, but do not recall if I used an extremely short Cross-Dissolve Transition between those - I intened to do so, but just do not remember if I liked that, or went with just the Still Images? Will try to find that animation, and maybe create a full tutorial of the process. In my case, I also added an SFX of chalk on a chalkboard.
If you have Photoshop, it's really quite easy to pull off.
Now, I do not know if Photoshop Elements has Layer Masks yet, which make it so very easy to accomplish. One could do it backward, where the Text Layer gets Erased, and then one would have their full Image as the last in the sequence, and then the next would have a little bit of the Text removed, then a bit more, then a bit more - going backward, until the "writing surface" is clean. One could also do this with a Transparent Background, so that one saw the Video below, and no actual "writing surface" visible.
