Loss of audio on Netflix streaming after fast forwarding

Hi,
Since the last update (can't remember the date), if I fast forward video on Netflix, even at the slowest speed, when I press play, its 50/50 if I get any sound. A press of rewind and then play restores it.
Apple TV is wired.
Anyone else had this problem?

I've also had it not see my Network a couple of times, so I've added it back to wireless and it all works fine.
Had a similar issue like this a while back when a firmware update killed Ethernet. Maybe it will get fixed again at the next release.

While listening to an audiobook, click the Center button twice to reveal the scrubber bar. Use the scroll wheel (like you do to move up and down the menus) to fast forward or rewind through the audiobook or audiobook track.

After Mountain Lion, QuickTime player's audio skips after fast-forward

Just got mountain lion, and now when I play a video in quicktime and fast-forward, the audio (after returning to normal play speed) skips like a broken record. I click stop and then play, the skipping is still present. It only goes away if I close the video and reopen it anew.
Any ideas?

My entire video became blur after fasting forward 4X of it in imovie 11.

i screen record using quicktime player for an instructional video.
i have to fast forward 4X of it. i export using quicktime and then upload it to fb or youtube, the whole video became blurry.
even if i don't export, i share it on fb and youtube at the imovie toolbar, my video will still be blurry.
i need help in this asap!

Video hanging and loss of Audio

Hello everyone.
I have recently encoded a few films using 3 or 4 different iPod to Video converters (I wanted to see which worked better).
After a couple of minutes of playing the video, the playback stops for about 5 seconds (the image is frozen on the screen) and then resumes but with no Audio. If I just Fast Forward a bit or Rewind a bit the video continues playing as normal. Sometimes this happens every 5 minutes or so, sometimes it only happens once. It's not in any one specific part of the file and there doesn't seem to be any repeatable cause to it, it seems to happen randomly.
I know this is a tough question and I'm not sure if anyone else has been having the same problems.
Any insights?

I have exactly the same thing only I was able to play full length videos (2.5 hours plus) without any problems using previous versions (6.0.1) of iTunes and iPod software. Previous iPod update was 2005-10-12, new one is 2006-01-10.
After playing 30 or 35 seconds of video the screen freezes then 5 seconds later starts to play - but with no audio. Fast forward or rewind solves the problem, but then same thing happens again 30 seconds later.
I have purchased ImTOO to convert DVD to iPod format and the videos play fine on the PC in QuickTime.
Very frustrating. Can I take my iPod back under warranty because it doesn't do what it says on the box? i.e. play videos.

No sound on some Netflix streaming on apple tv?

I sometimes, can't get audio on Netflix streaming using apple tv2. But, the audio comes through using my iPad 1. I'M using century links 2 wire router.
Any help out there?

I didn't think Netflix was airplay compatible as it's natively on the ATV.

Losing audio when using fast-forward navigation

We notice that we are losing our audio track/narration when we fast-forward through the playback on a .swf. Does anyone else notice that?

Are your audio clips all added slide by slide or did you add audio across multiple slides? I don't personally add the fast forward button to the playback bar because it causes too many issues confusing end-users. But I have heard that ensuring each slide has its own discreet audio clip reduces the problem you speak of.

Macbook audio stuttering while streaming from Netflix, Hulu, etc...

As of late my wife's 2008 Black Macbook 2.16ghz C2D has been acting up while streaming video. It first started with kernel panics, but Iocated the problem and relieved the Macbook of it. Now though after a hard drive erase to zero, a re-install of the OS, and an uprgade to the ram it has an audio stutter present when watching Netflix. I've checked practically everything on it. Even opened it up to check the hardware. Can anyone help? I ran this diagnostic from some help here in the forums.Can anyone see anything I'm missing? The help would surely be appreciated. Thanks!

You may have tried these suggestions before, but since I do not know the history here goes:
Looks like you have many plugins in your safari.
Disable all plugins except silverlight and try Netflix.
Try Chrome.
Once you run HULU the flash plugin it eat up hundreds of megabites of ram and then KEEP them for hours. It is a FLASH problem.
If you run Netflix (silverlight) after you run Hulu, you will run out of memory pretty quickly. The solution is to quit (not just close) Safari and then go to netflix.
Look at your activity monitor while you are using Netflix. How is your RAM and CPU usage?
Also Comcast (and the like) sometimes throttles your internet connection. Make sure your internet connection speed is still just as fast as it used to be.

Loss of audio panning effects with timeline audio of Sync type "Stream"

I have a Flash animation which is loaded into a parent master Flash file. In the animation, there is voice audio embedded in the timeline which is synced with a character animation. The Sync type of the audio is set to Stream, which is essential for the mouth movements to match the audio. When I try to pan the voice audio so that it comes only out of the right speaker, it sounds fine during preview playback, but after publishing, all of the panning effects are lost. If I change the Sync type to "Event" or "Start", the panning effects work fine, but the audio is terribly out of sync with the animation.
The source audio is a mono audio file. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I've tried changing the publish settings for both the parent and the child animation Flash files to be Speech, Mp3 mono, Mp3 Stereo and just about every other option, with no desirable results. I have also tried publishing and running the animation without loading it through the parent file, also no results.
Is there some kind of rule in Flash about Stream versus Event audio and panning? Do I need to use a stereo audio source file? I don't currently have access to the original audio files, but I can get them. Are all Stream type sounds automatically converted to mono at runtime or something??

According to the Adobe installation information the trial version of Premiere Elements 11 is fully functional and the watermark is only present until a licence code is purchased.
I have edited AVI footage from a camcorder using the program with no problems (and no loss of audio sync) and the watermark is also present with this.
The odd placement of audio and video was caused by my not dragging the clip carefully enough.
What is odd is that the clip plays completely normally using WIndows Media Player and VLC Media player so I would expect Premiere Elements to be able to handle it without problems.
I think that there is some sort of bug in Premiere Elements' handling of mpe4 files (both in versions 10 and 11) rather than there being anything wrong with my computer.
Is there some way of communicating this directly to the Adobe programers ?

It's exactly as I stated. Whenever I try to drag these kinds of loops (ESX24 / software instrument loops? the ones marked in green with the white music note next to them) from the loop browser into the timeline a message comes up saying Audio Not Found for that loop. And a new track is created automatically when loops are dragged into the timeline, so I'm not creating some other random / synth instrument track so I'm not sure what the deal is... But perhaps I'll try creating a software instrument track first and then drag the loop into that track and see what happens - maybe there's something with the default settings that automatically creates audio tracks whenever loops are imported?

Netflix streaming video freezes but audio is ok...

When I'm watching Netflix streaming videos, Firefox video freezes. Audio is fine and I can continue hearing the video. Firefox is the only browser that does this. IE9 and Google Chrome plays without the video freezing. I love Firefox and would like to continue using it. I get tired of having to change browsers just to be able to watch streaming video. Netflix won't stream after software update

I recently completey a software update on my MacBook. Once completed and rebooted I tried streaming a Netflix movie in Safari and the browser locks up. I can navigate in Netflix and select items. Once I select an item to stream the working symbol appears and then freezes or goes dark.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is it possible to remove a recent software update?

I found the solution on another post here on the apple boards - delete and reinstall.
I uninstalled silverlight.
I restarted my computer.
I navigated back to the same Netflix streaming page.
I again chose to download the .dmg file to install (the same) Silverlight.
I installed Silverlight again and restarted my browser.
This time when I tried to stream the same content, it worked just fine.

Why would Lightroom video capabilities/iTunes import/Netflix streaming/Photoshop all stop working at once?

Hi forum --
Several programs all stopped working at the same time and will only work (briefly) right after I've restarted my computer including:
- iTunes audio cd importing
- Lightroom video importing and playback
Netflix streaming (on both Safari and Chrome) won't work and Photoshop (CS4) won't open at all.
Videos work without a problem in: Quicktime, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and Bridge CS4 and CS6. YouTube also works without a problem.
Maybe the problems are conincidence, but this seems like it is posisbly a software problem with my computer, not my programs.
I have tried reinstalling Ligthroom and resetting the preferences files but they don't help.
The only things that I can think of that happened is that I:
1. downloaded my own videos from my own YouTube acocunt after my external hard drive failed and maybe there was a virus?
2. I deleted some programs with "Clean My Mac 2" and maybe it deleted some crucial file someplace?
I am running a 2009 13" MacBook Pro with a 2.53 Ghz processor and 4 GB RAM and Mountain Lion (everything is up to date).

I had problems with streaming until I changed the WiFi channel that I was using. The original one conflicted with my neighbor. After that, MOST of my streaming problems vanished. Occasionally, a movie would pause for more buffering and I eventually ran an ethernet cable from the Apple TV to my Apple Extreme (to eliminate the Wifi). I have not had a single problem since then (except to repair the drywall after running the ethernet from one floor to another). :-)

Apple TV Netflix Streaming & Other errors

Okay So I got Apple TV for Christmas. But Ive been experiencing very frustrating and upsetting problems. The following problems are very CRITICAL.
1. NETFLIX STREAMING
One of the featured abilities of Apple TV was Netflix Streaming. At first I loved using it, but then I started noticing problems. Half the time I played a netflix video... the video would pause and buffer every few seconds. Time after Time I have to deal with this. And its not my internet connection, because my PS3 can stream Netflix no problem. This is the MOST FRUSTRATING THING ABOUT APPLE TV. A Deal Breaker. I use my PS3 now for Netflix, because I refuse to watch a movie or tv show and have to deal with pausing every few seconds. It ruins watching the show. YOU NEED TO FIX THIS ASAP!
2. Error Cannot Connect To Netflix
Why is it one of the flagship features of Netflix has such a terminal error. Every week or so I have to disconnect (only found out this solution by googling this problem on the net otherwise I would of never found out how to fix Netflix on Apple TV) Apple TV, wait 10 - 15 seconds, reconnect, wait for it to load, and hope I dont get that ' Cannot Connect to Netflix Error". People say it may be netflix but its not. Apple TV cant access Netflix but yet my PS3, iPad, and iPhone can. Apple Please fix this.
THESE 2 PROBLEMS NEED TO BE FIXED ASAP. THEY HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTH WITH NOT A PATCH TO FIX IT. I didnt get Google TV, Boxee, etc. because I wanted Apple TV. Please dont make me regret my choice.
And the following are secondary concerns:
1. Please allow us to access our Youtube Subscriptions and Favorites faster on Apple TV.
Everytime I select Youtube to watch my subscriptions and favorites ... I have to go through menus to do so. Can they not pop up as soon as Select Youtube. My accounts already on there just let it pop up on the first menu.
2. Apps. Please include apps for Apple TV.
Apps where we can access Hulu, do skype chats, allow for keyboard integration. Allow us to do more with it.
Apple please fix these errors otherwise I have to stop recommending Apple TV and become a Detractor of the product and its support.

To Apple and Netflix,
I have recently purchased 2 Apple TV devices and a Roku XDS and subscribed to Netflix.
The problem I'm having, along with many others in the various forums, is that Netflix is accessed and "Suggestions" and "Previously Viewed" items show up but when I attempt to play a selected item I get a message on screen showing "error 112" and no streaming occurs.
The ATV refers customers to Netflix and Netflix refers customers back to Apple. Which of course isn't a fruitful solution.
Having no email contact for Netflix isn't helpful either. After contacting them on the phone they would not generate a ticket number and would not log my complaint as the system can't record referrals to Apple. They also do not have employee identifiers so you only get a first name of the service representative, I can only assume Netflix wants no record of customer complaints and wants to wear you down by waiting on the phone. Apple support is almost as daunting. You better have your serial number handy or you are going nowhere. So if you are at work and trying to contact support… Good luck.

As a veteran film and TV post production engineer in Burbank, CA, I am a methodical trouble shooter and well versed in negotiating software and hardware from diverse products. I quickly determine my internet connection is solid and bandwidth is adequate (typically between 20 to 30Mbps and in the later hours up to 75Mbps). I check that other streaming channels on that device are functioning properly such as "Radio" and "YouTube". I can stream Netflix from the Roku. I can even stream Netflix from my second Apple TV device. But the other Apple TV continues to exhibit the same symptom "error 112". I can usually get around the problem with a couple of hard reboots of the Apple TV, but not always. The problem is not confined to one ATV, either device may exhibit "error112".
I will also be posting this open letter on Amazon and Facebook and hope to post your response and solution as well.
