Loss of authorization for music purchased on iPod

Dear Experts,
I have a strange authorization problem for (only) music that purchased via itunes on my ipod. The problem does not (seem) to affect music that I purchased via itunes on my PC and synced to my ipod.
After purchasing music on my ipod, then next time that I sync my ipod with itunes, I lose authorization for all music purchased via my ipod. If I deauthorize itunes on my PC, restart itunes and re-authorize itunes I can then play the purchased music. However, the very next time that I sync my ipod, I get the same problem.
So at the moment, everytime I sync my ipod I have to go through a deauthorize/restart/authorize sequence before syncing to ensure I don't lose access to the music purchased on the ipod. Obviously this is pretty damned annoying.
Any ideas?
Regards,
ExtraPilot144

  • Music purchased on iPod touch after sync is only on mac,not on touch

I have used the iTunes music store three times, purchasing three different songs. When I buy them, I am able to listen to them. However, once I sync, the songs are only on my iMac, and are not on my iPod. I have auto sync on, and there is a purchased on iPod touch playlist on my mac, but it just doesn't sync. I tried manually syncing and dragging it on to my iPod, but it still doesn't work. Any help would be welcomed.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Music purchased on iPod touch--gone after synch w/ PC

Ive made some music purchases directly from my iPod Touch, 4gen. When I synched my pod to my pc, the songs disappeared. They are not in my iTunes music folder, they are not in the purchased on... playlist anymore, they are gone. I tried checking for available downloads, but it came up all songs purchsed where downloaded. I checked my purchse history in my account info, the 15 songs in question were purchased, I listened to them many times on my iPod before synching to my PC, but now they're gone. They're not even on my iPod anymore!
    Help!

Ive been using this computer for 5 years, so yes, this is the computer my iPod has always synched to.
I tried resetting and restoring. Songs still aren't there. It's really frustrating, I've re-purchased 3 of the songs because they were for students to use in class but the other 12 I really don't want to buy again--I want them, I just don't want to have to spend the money on them for a 2nd run.

  • Why is 7.2 the min required for Music Purchases Now - and in 10.2.8?

All versions of iTunes above 6.0.5 are for later operating systems (10.3+) I have 10.2.8 and have not upgraded to any of the 7.0 versions because of the OS and video/TV features which I cannot use. Today, I tried to purchase music and it said minimum of 7.2 was required, but there is NO 7.2 version in the main downloads list at all, and certainly nothing compatible with 10.2.8 (except the older 6.0.5). Of course, this means that 7.5 is out of the question entirely.
What is going on? Should I make new music purchases using a different service entirely now? Is this a music store bug that Apple is in the process of correcting for its other customers?

Apple always only has the newest version available on their site. You can download older versions, including 7.2, here: http://www.oldapps.com/downloadiTunesmac.php

  • How do I get my new iPod Touch (4th gen) to authorize for old purchases?

Recently, I upgraded to the iPod Touch 4th generation model. Unfortunately, even though I have authorized my PC for the new device repeatedly, old purchases cannot be synced. I continue to get the error message that I am not authorized on the computer. My Apple ID and password have not changed and now I am out hundreds of dollars in songs and movies I simply cannot load to the new iPod. Any suggestions in resolving this issue?

You are following the instructions here, right?
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    This may help.
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases
If you are in the USA you can redownload music, apps TV shows  and iBooks but not movies by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Upgrade to Vista, lose your authorization for your purchased music

I upgraded from XP to Vista, and my iTunes is asking me to reauthorize my songs. The problem with this is that I've hit my five computer limit (I have three active computers, two that I forgot to deauthorized). It's not a new computer or a new install of iTunes, so I'm a little annoyed about the reauthorization.

I'm not using Vista, but I had the exact same problem on my windows XP install of 7.0.2 iTunes. It wasn't the only problem, but it was one of them.
It boiled down to the latest version of iTunes requiring the user account I was utilizing having full control[\b] privilages on the iTunes install directory. I don't know how you would do that in Vista, but if you grant that permission to the user account in question, you may very well not ever need to worry about disabling UAC, then reenabling it later.
FWIW, the other issue was an error -42018 when attempting to download new purchases. If you have that problem after your disable UAC/authorize/reenable, it may be that you have the same issue I did.

  • Problem: iTunes 6. Can't authorize for music store

    Greetings,
I am having a problem with iTunes 6. It all installed fine and plays music i've loaded on from CD. But when i click on a purchased song it tells me it is not authorized and that i must authorize it.
I enter my user and password and it first tell me that the Authorization was successful. I click OK.
Then an error message comes up which reads: "We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error occurred (-208).
There was an error in the Music Store. Please try again later"
    I click OK.
If I then try to play a purchased song, it immediately crashes iTunes. It just disappears.
When I open it again and i log into my Music Store account, it tells me that i do have this computer authorized. It's the only computer i have authorized right now because i recently reset all my authorizations.
So, it says it's authorized and i go to click on a purchased song and then i just repeat all the steps above. It doesn't work.
Does anyone have any insight into this problem or any steps of how i may be able to make this work?
The message does say it's a Music Store error and try again later. I've been trying off an on for about 3 or 4 days now.
    Thanks!
    SIMON

    Simon hello,
    Quit iTunes...
Download Cocktail and start the program... click on the 'interface' Icon and tick 'Show Invisible Items' then click the Restart button...
In a finder window click on the Icon that is your Boot Volume in the Side Bar ... select users ... select shared folder ... select the folder named 'SC info' and put it in the trash and empty it ... Do Not touch any other file.
Pathway looks like this HD > users > shared > SC info > SC Info.sidb
Go back to the Cocktail 'interface' window and untick Show Invisible Items and click restart .. quit Cocktail.
Start iTunes after deletinng this folder and it will prompt you to enter your authorization information again ... see now if your problem still exists...
Let's know how you get on Simon ... take care ... TP

  • HT203433 How do I get a refund for music purchasing on I tunes?

I purchased a song this morning wich I'm very unhappy with.I would like to get a refund.I do I get the refund?

Unhappy with it in what way ? Unless there is something wrong with the actual track (e.g. the quality of the recording, it's cut short etc) then as purchases are considered final you are unlikely to be receive a credit for it.
If there is something wrong with it then depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • TS1424 Refund For Music Purchase - Tracks With 'Crackling' Sound

Today, my wife and I purchased three particular tracks that have terrible 'crackling' sound throughout them.  We can't even listen through the crackling to enjoy the tracks we paid for.
These three tracks need to be removed and rerecorded.
Please advise how we go about a refund of our purcase for the below tracks:
    Album - Bumbay
    Artist - Blakdyak
    Tracks:
    Bumbay
    Bilin Ni Lola
    Inday
    Thank you.

Have you tried playing them on a different computer and/or device ?
Depending on what country that you are in you could try deleting and re-downloading them - if you aren't in a country where you can re-download music, or if they re-download in the same state, then you can use the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1933

    Hi Gurus,
We are runnign SAP SRM 7 with ECS.
We need Operational Purchasers to be able to create PO from scratch in SRM and to be able to modify other purchasers'POs.
It does not seem possible with standard Operational Purchaser role. Should we use an other role or modify Authorizations object of Operational Purchasers?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi there,
    In the option PURCHASING -> u201CDetailed navigationu201D -> Purchasing
You have the POWL to control the documents as Shopping Carts, Purchase Orders, Confirmations and Purchase Order Responses. Now in the SRM 7.0 we have these options to handle Purchase Orders.
    Does this answer your question?
What error are your receiving? What is greyed out?
If you give user SAP_ALL do you have any problems?
    Hope this helps,

I can't authorize some music from my Ipod nano...it was purchased using an old email that I no longer have access to. When I type in my information to recover my password, it says my information is incorrect. Can I do something to move the music from my old Apple ID to my new one?
