yesterday after installing new update 8.0.1(12a402) on my iphone 5
after install this update my cellular strength is to low kindly solve this issue

Confirmed solution from Apple:
You need to do a full OS restore through iTunes on your phone. You can then restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup to be back in business. It *****, but that's the only solution right now.

What happens when you try?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

I have tried all these fixes and nothing seams to work. My app's have been on hold for week to get updated. I assumed I did not have a good enough connection, but Im in starbucks with a good connection and still no luck. I upadted today to 5.1.1 .. I have tried tup downloand a new app, just in a holding pattern. When I pause it and ask it to reload, it says
"unable to download application" done or retry are my options. Tried retry many times, with no success.
I have tried to shut it off holding the side button but the red bar does not disapear. It stays there until I give up.
I have logged out, shut down, logged back in..
Any suggetions????

Yes, my battery is draining quickly and recharging slowly. Search is extremely slow, aol email won't work. Kindle app all messed up, lost all on device but have it backed up on amazon. Not a good sign. Try forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it. If this fails, make an appointment at an Apple store:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. Did you do the Reset Network Settings as I described above?
There is no way to go back. You can try reseating your nanoSIM or replacing it. Or call your cell provider and have them check the provisioning on your phone.
Or Restore your iPhone from your backup in iTunes.
