Loss of Phone and Data Connection

I have lost all phone and data connection with AT&T on my iPhone 3Gs. Yet my wife's non-Apple phone has fine connection.
Is this a iOS4 problem?
AT&T said they reboot my phone remotely, but that did not help.
Any suggestions? Other than buy an Android.

I'm having the exact same problem. It just started happening over the last 3 days but it worked fine before that. I upgraded to ios4 the day it came out but didn't start experiencing these problems until 3 days ago. I'm in Canada on the Bell network.
If it turn the off and on again it will work for a little while but then I will lose service again sometimes a few minutes later and sometimes a few hours later.
I've tried shutting it down and starting it and rebooting it and nothing has fixed this.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Dave

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 - Bluetooth and Data Connectivity...

Hi - i recently updated my Nokia lumia 1520 with a new firmware that Nokia tool told me being available.  after that i have consistantly having bluetooth connectivity issues and Data connectivity issues.
i have a Jabra Clipper bluetooth headset which .  i am no longer able to pair it. it detect and says jabra clipper, then starts pairing, then simply says couldn't connect.
if i have wifi on, if i go out of range of the WIFI signal, my data connection stops working as well.  this is 100% of the time.  i have to reboot my phone to get data connectivity back.
    Its on Lumia Cyan
    manufacturer name: RM-937-im_mea3_1019
    core build id: 7030.80
    bsp release: 2061.0066
    applicatoin versoin: 3.11.2.1
    build creation date: 7/8/2014
    from Nokia software recovery tool:
    Product Code: 059V479
    Software Version: 02061.00066.14253.40002

Because I am just an end-user like you and I do not have your hardware combination here, I can only give general advice. Could be a new interoperability issue between these two devices, introduced with Lumia Cyan. Could be a old wrong pair-key. Or could be interfering between your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (Bluetooth Adaptive Channel Hopping). Therefore, let us start with the Bluetooth part:
on the Nokia Lumia 1520, Settings » Wi-Fi » Off (to avoid any interference)
on the Nokia Lumia 1520, Settings » Bluetooth » On
(status: paired) tap and hold your Jabra CLIPPER » delete (if paired already)
on the Jabra CLIPPER, press and hold the multi-function button until the indicator light is solid blue (approximately 6 seconds) to activate the paring mode
Your Bluetooth headset should appear in your phone now. After you tapped on it, it should be paired successfully. Does it?
If not, start over again and between step 1 and 2, power off both Jabra CLIPPER and Nokia Lumia 1520.
If it still does not work, start over and between step 1 and 2, please hold volume down + power until the Nokia Lumia 1520 turns off (soft reboot; do not forget to set your date/time afterwards).
If it still does not work, start over and between step 1 and 2, turn off your Wi-Fi access point.
    Does it work now?

  • Why is my Ipad2 not connecting to my network when phone and laptop connect successfully?

Why is my Ipad 2 not connecting to my network when phone and laptop connect immediately?

Could be all sorts of reasons, Can you give us more details about your setup?
Check to see if the wifi is turned on the the iPad. That would be the first thing I would check.
Next what is the configuration of your network? Do you have a password setup to prevent others from connecting to your network? Any details you can provide will make it easier to figure out where your probem is.

  • High Packet Loss, High Ping and Slow Connection Ov...

    Hi There,
I have been a customer with the BT unlimited broadband package for a little under two years and up until recently have had no real issues with the service. This was until around 3/4 weeks ago I noticed that the internet was very slow and certain online games or applications like Netflix would lose all of its quality or stop completely. At first I thought nothing of it and simply reset my BT Home hub router, and sure enough everything was back to normal. However after around 2-3 hours of moderate use (gaming online or watching Netflix) the problem surfaced again.
Now I am lucky if I can get the entire way through a 40 minute TV episode before the quality drops and/or the service requires buffering. I have already contacted BT via the helpline and the service lady ran through the obligatory steps (turn off, wait 5 minutes, reset the home hub etc.) but she failed to understand that although rebooting the home hub does alleviate the problem initially, the symptoms of a slow connection, high packet loss and high ping always return within an hour.
Four the last couple of weeks I have been trying to investigate the problem myself and I have done the following things:
Tested the line using the master socket (no difference)
Opened the ports on my firewall within the home hub (no difference)
Directly wired in the computer instead of relying on the wifi (no difference)
Tested for interference from neighbours wifi using inSSIDider office (it wasn’t, operating on different channels)
Switched every device that requires internet off apart from the PC (no difference)
So with all that in mind I am fairly confident that it is nothing within my house that has caused a significant reduction in internet quality.
Now I have tried my best to display the problem I am having by recording the connection quality for the last 24 hours. The table below represents the condition and quality of the connection after leaving it a period of time without resetting:

Now I immediately reset the home hub after running that test and ran the test again. These are the results I a achieved within 2 minutes of internet connectivity:

Thank you for you quick reply, I have just moved my hub to the master socket again and re-run the test and I seem to be getting the same results.

I have also checked if the bell wire was attached and it is not. My socket is of the new type with the inclusion of an inductor on the faceplate. My ADSL filters and modem cable already have the middle connecting pins removed so I don’t think it is a wiring problem, at least in my apartment anyway. I have also searched for problems with the exchange and they are showing green for my area. (Liverpool Central)
I have just rang the quiet line and I do not appear to have any noise on the line. However, all I have is a cordless phone and I know that is not ideal for determining noise due to the radio frequency interfering with the phone speaker.
Again thank you for you time on this issue.

  • MMS and Data Connections

    Hi Communities,
Hope i post this question in a right forum.
Im new to Lumia Phone, just bought a Lumia 620 last week.
So far im loving the phone and my eager to get a Lumia phone succed.
Cut to question, do we need Data Connection turn on to sent MMS?
Unlike other Nokia phones runnig Symbian, data connection will be automaticly turn on when we sent mms. Can we do the same with WP8 Lumia?
Default access point cant be edit so i created a new one refering to setting for Symbian and Android, but still no luck, i cant sent mms from my lumia.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, you do need to have mobile data switched on for MMS to work. There shouldn't be a need to edit MMS settings because the phone should read all the correct settings from your SIM card and add them to the phone. Also, make sure the correct access point is active under Settings > Access point.

  • Hello, i got a new phone and while connecting to iTunes it didn't sync all the data. What do i do? I do not want to start over

can't sync my new phone to the data on the itunes. pls help

    Just do this:
Connect your phone to your computer using the usb cable
Open iTunes and look on the left side for the name of your phone to appear (it will be shown under "Devices" when it is detected)
When you see it right-click your mouse on it and you will see a pop-up like the photo below.  When you see this choose "Restore from Backup"
This will restore the data and settings from the backup of your old phone to your new one.

  • TS1368 I've updated my iPad to OS7 and now can't connect to the App Store. It works on my phone and interject connection is fine. Any thoughts?

I've updated to OS7 on my iPad and now can't connect to the App Store.  The internet is working and it works on my phone, though slow;  is this an App Store problem or a problem with the software upgrade? Am I alone with this issue?

belive it or not this worked for me:
“Go to Settings > General > Date and Time > Set Automatically > Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again or press the button from Passbook. If you get an error message, go back to the Settings app and change Date and Time > Set Automatically back to On. Then go back and try again.”
please note that when you go to app store when you change time to future go through passbook / and close the app then and then wehn you set time back to auto go back to app store through passbook and it will work then close it and then normal app store icon will work form now on
    good luck

  • How to configure SGE2000P with CISCO 7900 phones and data VLAN

    Hello all
I am having problem setting up SGE2000P switches to work with my default data VLAN and additional voice VLAN. I am configuring it to pick IP address for phones from voice VLAN which is working fine but when I connect a PC on phone port it is also picking up an IP from Voice VLAN while default VLAN is data with different scope of IP.
Is there any good discussion or documents out there to help me resolve this issue before I pack these switches and purchase ESW 500 series. I have ESW 500 at another client and they are working fine out of the box but this guy is giving me hard time.
Any suggestions help will be appreciated

  • Android phone and data

    Hi
I have a HTC phone that connects to WiFi via my Time Capsule fine.  However, I was hoping that I could use the storage on the TC to back up data from my phone..  Is this possible?  If so, how do I get the Phone to "see" the device.
    CC

The TC can offer SMB compatible devices.. but the name of the TC is probably an issue..
SMB requires all names.. of TC and wireless to be short, no spaces.. pure alphanumeric.
Go to the disks page, file sharing.. in airport utility manual setup (if you are on lion download 5.6 http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html) This has to be setup from a computer.
Turn on the guest account, give both read and write.. Set the workgroup to WORKGROUP.. that should be enough to fix it..
But I have no idea of how you see files in phone.. do you need a file browsing app??

  • Bluetooth Phone and MacBook connection

How do I connect my new Macbook to my bluetook Blackberry so I can use the connection for emails?

You can probably find the CID string on Ross Barkman's site (http://home2.btconnect.com/Taniwha/) where there are 'modem scripts' for most current and older mobile phones. Download and install the correct script for your phone as per his instructions and you should be able to select the correct CID string in the setup to get started. You may have to try one or two different variants to find which works best, but all the scripts for each phone model or range are usually bundled together so it's just a matter of trying different ones from the drop-down list until one works.
Assuming you get it to work (I have done with a variety of Nokia phones over the years), it would be a nice gesture to donate something to Ross for his time and effort via PayPal. There's a button on the homepage.
Re charges if you already have a data facility it shouldn't cost any more to use it via the laptop than it does from the phone, they usually charge by the megabyte. I'm not sure that the phone company can tell whether you have a laptop linked to the phone anyway. The only danger is that if you're browsing full Web sites on the laptop you may be transferring a lot more data than on phone-optimised (WAP) sites and so spend more than you expect

  • CME 7.1 with SCCP 7940G phones and SIP connection to a VOIP provider - inbound outbound fails

Here's a quick and dirty diagram of a CME 7.1 configuration. The phone can all call each other but something is not quite right with the SIP provider. The registrar and SIP registration pieces are working but most of the configuration examples that I've seen make me think that the CME router was being used as the edge device to the internet. From my drawing, you can see that is not the case here. My edge device is a Cisco ASA5505 with 9.2.x software running. I might be missing something in the SIP gateway knowledge department. Without diving into the configuration, I'm wondering if SIP messages are failing for calls because of NAT'ing? Trying to do searches has been tricky because I keep running into information that is more about setting up CME for SIP phones or just getting SIP to work between CME and a SIP provider. I have that part working. I'm just a bit unsure about how an SCCP 7940G gets an outbound call or even gets one to come in.
When I dial from my cell phone to the pilot number, there are no rings, it just goes to the VOIP provider's voice mail. When I try to dial out, I get a fast busy.
So, is NAT a consideration? Will the SIP gateway set up a call (forward) via the pre-established SIP connection? Yeah, I do sound like a newb.
If anyone has good information about, let's say, an inbound call and how that traffic flow works.
    Thanks!

Have you configured your ASA to either NAT the IP address of the CME router or to do port forwarding for port 5060?

  • My i phone 5s is not connecting with i tunes on any computer and i have tried different cords, computers, and then i tried to use a different phone, and it connected to i tunes, So the problem is definitely my phone, What I'm asking is how do i fix it?

  • 871 Switchport Configuration for Phone and Data

I am having a problem connecting my 7960 to a switchport of my
871 (12.3(14) Advanced IP Services). When configured as shown, the phone is correctly placed into vlan 3, but
a PC plugged into the phone does not end up into vlan 800, but rather vlan 1.
    interface FastEthernet1
    switchport access vlan 800
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport voice vlan 3
    switchport priority extend trust
If I remove the switchport mode trunk, the phone ends up in VLAN 800.
What is the proper configuration on this 871 to have the phone in vlan 3, and
the PC plugged into the phone in vlan 800?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The only thing you need to change is to add the command "switchport trunk native vlan 800"
The reason the PC is showing up in vlan 1 is because that is the default native vlan for the trunk, and thus is the only vlan that is untagged. Since the PC doesn't understand dot1q tagging, its DHCP requests will wind up being received in vlan1 on the switch. Once you change the native vlan to 800, the PC should correctly connect in vlan 800.
    HTH,
    Bobby

  • Keep getting time out connection error when my macair tries to connect to Internet, but my iPad, phone and PC connect straight away. It happens on and off what could be the problem?

Having trouble connecting to Internet with my MacBook Air. It can be fine for a few hours thins goes off and all I get it the message couldn't connect due to time out error connection. It can't be my broadband because I don't have the same problem with my other devices. Is my mac air breaking down?

looks like this is your network connection settings problem, you'd better only keep one network adaptor online and linked, if you do not understand how to setup windows routing, this is completely not firefox problem. buddy. wish you goodluck.

  • I have an iPad mini iphone 5 and have just bought an Apple TV can I get the Apple TV to connect to the Bluetooth on my sofa have been trying with no success my phone and iPad connect fine please help.

Can't get my Apple TV to connect to the Bluetooth on my sofa but it connects fine with iPhone iPad mini etc

Bluetooth in the AppleTV is for connecting to Bluetooth keyboards, and also for Airplay device discovery only.
Unless your sofa supports Airplay (unlikely) or has a bluetooth keyboard, your AppleTV won't be able to connect to it.
